Fashion image editing aims to modify a person's appearance based on a given instruction. Existing methods require auxiliary tools like segmenters and keypoint extractors, lacking a flexible and unified framework. Moreover, these methods are limited in the variety of clothing types they can handle, as most datasets focus on people in clean backgrounds and only include generic garments such as tops, pants, and dresses. These limitations restrict their applicability in real-world scenarios. In this paper, we first extend an existing dataset for human generation to include a wider range of apparel and more complex backgrounds. This extended dataset features people wearing diverse items such as tops, pants, dresses, skirts, headwear, scarves, shoes, socks, and bags. Additionally, we propose AnyDesign, a diffusion-based method that enables mask-free editing on versatile areas. Users can simply input a human image along with a corresponding prompt in either text or image format. Our approach incorporates Fashion DiT, equipped with a Fashion-Guidance Attention (FGA) module designed to fuse explicit apparel types and CLIP-encoded apparel features. Both Qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate that our method delivers high-quality fashion editing and outperforms contemporary text-guided fashion editing methods.

Trained on 680,000 hours of massive speech data, Whisper is a multitasking, multilingual speech foundation model demonstrating superior performance in automatic speech recognition, translation, and language identification. However, its applicability in speaker verification (SV) tasks remains unexplored, particularly in low-data-resource scenarios where labeled speaker data in specific domains are limited. To fill this gap, we propose a lightweight adaptor framework to boost SV with Whisper, namely Whisper-SV. Given that Whisper is not specifically optimized for SV tasks, we introduce a representation selection module to quantify the speaker-specific characteristics contained in each layer of Whisper and select the top-k layers with prominent discriminative speaker features. To aggregate pivotal speaker-related features while diminishing non-speaker redundancies across the selected top-k distinct layers of Whisper, we design a multi-layer aggregation module in Whisper-SV to integrate multi-layer representations into a singular, compacted representation for SV. In the multi-layer aggregation module, we employ convolutional layers with shortcut connections among different layers to refine speaker characteristics derived from multi-layer representations from Whisper. In addition, an attention aggregation layer is used to reduce non-speaker interference and amplify speaker-specific cues for SV tasks. Finally, a simple classification module is used for speaker classification. Experiments on VoxCeleb1, FFSVC, and IMSV datasets demonstrate that Whisper-SV achieves EER/minDCF of 2.22%/0.307, 6.14%/0.488, and 7.50%/0.582, respectively, showing superior performance in low-data-resource SV scenarios.

In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the Knudsen layer equation imposed on Maxwell reflection boundary condition with full ranges of cutoff collision kernels and accommodation coefficients (i.e., $- 3 < \gamma \leq 1$ and $0 \leq \alpha_* \leq 1$, respectively) in the $L^\infty_{x,v}$ framework. We prove the low Mach number limit from compressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier system with the general pressure law around a constant state on the torus $\mathbb{T}^N_a$. We view this limit as a special case of the weakly nonlinear-dissipative approximation of the general hyperbolic-parabolic system with entropy. In particular, we consider the ill-prepared initial data, for which the group of fast acoustic waves is needed to be filtered. This extends the previous works, in particular Danchin [ Amer. J. Math. 124 (2002), 1153-1219] in two ways: 1. We treat the fully general non-isentropic flow, i.e. the pressure depends on the density $\rho$ and temperature $\theta$ by basic thermodynamic law. We illustrate the role played by the entropy structure of the system in the coupling of the acoustic waves and incompressible flow, and the construction of the filtering group. 2. We refine the small divisor estimate, which helps us to give the first explicit convergence rate of the filtered acoustic waves whose propogation is governed by non-local averaged system. In previous works, only convergence rate of incompressible limit was obtained.

Classical compartmental models in epidemiology often assume a homogeneous population for simplicity, which neglects the inherent heterogeneity among individuals. This assumption frequently leads to inaccurate predictions when applied to real-world data. For example, evidence has shown that classical models overestimate the final pandemic size in the H1N1-2009 and COVID-19 outbreaks. To address this issue, we introduce individual mobility as a key factor in disease transmission and control. We characterize disease dynamics using mobility distribution functions for each compartment and propose a mobility-based compartmental model that incorporates population heterogeneity. Our results demonstrate that, for the same basic reproduction number, our mobility-based model predicts a smaller final pandemic size compared to the classical models, effectively addressing the common overestimation problem. Additionally, we infer mobility distributions from the time series of the infected population. We provide sufficient conditions for uniquely identifying the mobility distribution from a dataset and propose a machine-learning-based approach to learn mobility from both synthesized and real-world data., Comment: 19 pages, 8 figures

Glioma cells can reshape functional neuronal networks by hijacking neuronal synapses, leading to partial or complete neurological dysfunction. These mechanisms have been previously explored for language functions. However, the impact of glioma on sensorimotor functions is still unknown. Therefore, we recruited a control group of patients with unaffected motor cortex and a group of patients with glioma-infiltrated motor cortex, and recorded high-density electrocortical signals during finger movement tasks. The results showed that glioma suppresses task-related synchronization in the high-gamma band and reduces the power across all frequency bands. The resulting atypical motor information transmission model with discrete signaling pathways and delayed responses disrupts the stability of neuronal encoding patterns for finger movement kinematics across various temporal-spatial scales. These findings demonstrate that gliomas functionally invade neural circuits within the motor cortex. This result advances our understanding of motor function processing in chronic disease states, which is important to advance the surgical strategies and neurorehabilitation approaches for patients with malignant gliomas.

The unluckiest star orbits a supermassive black hole elliptically. Every time it reaches the pericenter, it shallowly enters the tidal radius and gets partially tidal disrupted, producing a series of flares. Confirmation of a repeated partial tidal disruption event (pTDE) requires not only evidence to rule out other types of transients, but also proof that only one star is involved, as TDEs from multiple stars can also produce similar flares. In this letter, we report the discovery of a repeated pTDE, AT 2022dbl. In a quiescent galaxy at $z=0.0284$, two separate optical/UV flares have been observed in 2022 and 2024, with no bright X-ray, radio or mid-infrared counterparts. Compared to the first flare, the second flare has a similar blackbody temperature of ~26,000 K, slightly lower peak luminosity, and slower rise and fall phases. Compared to the ZTF TDEs, their blackbody parameters and light curve shapes are all similar. The spectra taken during the second flare show a steeper continuum than the late-time spectra of the previous flare, consistent with a newly risen flare. More importantly, the possibility of two independent TDEs can be largely ruled out because the optical spectra taken around the peak of the two flares exhibit highly similar broad Balmer, N III and possible He II emission lines, especially the extreme ~4100{\AA} emission lines. Communication-sensing integration represents an up-and-coming area of research, enabling wireless networks to simultaneously perform communication and sensing tasks. However, in urban cellular networks, the blockage of buildings results in a complex signal propagation environment, affecting the performance analysis of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) networks. To overcome this obstacle, this paper constructs a comprehensive framework considering building blockage and employs a distance-correlated blockage model to analyze interference from line of sight (LoS), non-line of sight (NLoS), and target reflection cascading (TRC) links. Using stochastic geometric theory, expressions for signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and coverage probability for communication and sensing in the presence of blockage are derived, allowing for a comprehensive comparison under the same parameters. The research findings indicate that blockage can positively impact coverage, especially in enhancing communication performance. A sample of 17 FR I radio galaxies constructed from the 3CR catalog, which is characterized by edge-darkened radio structures, is studied. The optical core luminosities derived from Hubble Space Telescope observation are used to estimate the Eddington ratios which are found to be below $10^{-3.4}$ for this sample. This is supported by the Baldwin-Phillips-Terlevich optical diagnostic diagrams derived with the spectroscopic observation of Telescopio Nazionale Galileo, suggesting that these sources are of low ionization nuclear Emission-line Regions (LINERs). It implies that the accretion in these FR I sources can be modeled as advection-dominated accretion flows (ADAFs). Given the low accretion rate, the predicted jet power with a fast-spinning black hole (BH) $a=0.95$ in the Blandford-Znajek mechanics is lower than the estimated one for almost all the sources in our sample. Such powerful jets indicate the presence of magnetically arrested disks (MAD) in the inner region of the ADAF, in the sense that the magnetic fields in the inner accretion zone are strong. Previous Sign Language Translation (SLT) methods achieve superior performance by relying on gloss annotations. However, labeling high-quality glosses is a labor-intensive task, which limits the further development of SLT. Although some approaches work towards gloss-free SLT through jointly training the visual encoder and translation network, these efforts still suffer from poor performance and inefficient use of the powerful Large Language Model (LLM). Most seriously, we find that directly introducing LLM into SLT will lead to insufficient learning of visual representations as LLM dominates the learning curve. To address these problems, we propose Factorized Learning assisted with Large Language Model (FLa-LLM) for gloss-free SLT. Concretely, we factorize the training process into two stages. In the visual initialing stage, we employ a lightweight translation model after the visual encoder to pre-train the visual encoder. In the LLM fine-tuning stage, we freeze the acquired knowledge in the visual encoder and integrate it with a pre-trained LLM to inspire the LLM's translation potential. This factorized training strategy proves to be highly effective as evidenced by significant improvements achieved across three SLT datasets which are all conducted under the gloss-free setting., Comment: Accepted by LREC-COLING-2024

High-cadence, multiwavelength observations have continuously revealed the diversity of tidal disruption events (TDEs), thus greatly advancing our knowledge and understanding of TDEs. In this work, we conducted an intensive optical-UV and X-ray follow-up campaign of TDE AT2023lli, and found a remarkable month-long bump in its UV/optical light curve nearly two months prior to maximum brightness. The bump represents the longest separation time from the main peak among known TDEs to date. The main UV/optical outburst declines as $t^{-4.10}$, making it one of the fastest decaying optically selected TDEs. Furthermore, we detected sporadic X-ray emission 30 days after the UV/optical peak, accompanied by a reduction in the period of inactivity. It is proposed that the UV/optical bump could be caused by the self-intersection of the stream debris, whereas the primary peak is generated by the reprocessed emission of the accretion process. In addition, our results suggest that episodic X-ray radiation during the initial phase of decline may be due to the patched obscurer surrounding the accretion disk, a phenomenon associated with the inhomogeneous reprocessing process. The double TDE scenario, in which two stars are disrupted in sequence, is also a possible explanation for producing the observed early bump and main peak. We anticipate that the multicolor light curves of TDEs, especially in the very early stages, and the underlying physics can be better understood in the near future with the assistance of dedicated surveys such as the deep high-cadence survey of the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope (WFST)., Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures,accepted for publication by ApJL

In this article, we consider the evolutionary model for magnetoelasticity with vanishing viscosity/damping, which is a nonlinear dispersive system. The global regularity and scattering of the evolutionary model for magnetoelasticity under small size of initial data is proved. Our proof relies on the idea of vector-field method due to the quasilinearity and the presence of convective term. A key observation is that we construct a suitable energy functional including the mass quantity, which enable us to provide a good decay estimates for Schr\"odinger flow. We report on multiwavelength studies of a blazar NVSS J171822+423948, which is identified as the low-energy counterpart of 4FGL J1718.5+4237, the unique $\gamma$-ray source known to be cospatial with the IceCube neutrino event IC-201221A. After a 12-year long quiescent period undetected by Fermi-LAT, $\gamma$-ray activities with a tenfold flux increase emerge soon (a few tens of days) after arrival of the neutrino. Associated optical flares in the ZTF $g$, $r$, and $i$ bands are observed together with elevated WISE infrared fluxes. Synchronized variations suggest that both the $\gamma$-ray emission and the neutrino event are connected to the blazar. Furthermore, the optical spectrum reveals emission lines at a redshift $z$ = 2.68 $\pm$ 0.01. Thus, it is the first candidate for a neutrino-emitting blazar at the redshift above 2. This paper describes our audio-quality-based multi-strategy approach for the audio-visual target speaker extraction (AVTSE) task in the Multi-modal Information based Speech Processing (MISP) 2023 Challenge. Specifically, our approach adopts different extraction strategies based on the audio quality, striking a balance between interference removal and speech preservation, which benifits the back-end automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. Experiments show that our approach achieves a character error rate (CER) of 24.2% and 33.2% on the Dev and Eval set, respectively, obtaining the second place in the challenge., Comment: Accepted by ICASSP 2024

We re-examined the classification of the optical transient ASASSN-18ap, which was initially identified as a supernova (SNe) upon its discovery. Based on newly emerged phenomena, such as a delayed luminous infrared outburst and the emergence of luminous coronal emission lines, we suggest that ASASSN-18ap is more likely a tidal disruption event (TDE) in a dusty environment, rather than a supernova. The total energy in the infrared outburst is $\rm 3.1\times10^{51}$ erg, which is an order of magnitude higher than the total energy in the optical-to-ultraviolet range, indicating a large dust extinction, an extra-EUV component, or anisotropic continuum emission. A bumpy feature appeared in the optical light curve at the start of brightening, which was reported in a couple of TDEs very recently. This early bump may have been overlooked in the past due to the lack of sufficient sampling of the light curves of most TDEs during their ascending phase, and it could provide insight into the origin of optical emission., Comment: Accepted to be published in ApJ

Language models (LMs) have shown superior performances in various speech generation tasks recently, demonstrating their powerful ability for semantic context modeling. Given the intrinsic similarity between speech generation and speech enhancement, harnessing semantic information holds potential advantages for speech enhancement tasks. In light of this, we propose SELM, a novel paradigm for speech enhancement, which integrates discrete tokens and leverages language models. SELM comprises three stages: encoding, modeling, and decoding. We transform continuous waveform signals into discrete tokens using pre-trained self-supervised learning (SSL) models and a k-means tokenizer. Language models then capture comprehensive contextual information within these tokens. Finally, a detokenizer and HiFi-GAN restore them into enhanced speech. Experimental results demonstrate that SELM achieves comparable performance in objective metrics alongside superior results in subjective perception. When a star passes through the tidal disruption radius of a massive black hole (BH), it can be torn apart by the tidal force of the BH, known as the Tidal Disruption Event (TDE). Since the UV/optical emitting region inferred from the blackbody radius is significantly larger than the circularization radius predicted by the classical TDE theory, two competing models, stream collision and envelope reprocessing, were proposed to explain the unexpectedly large UV/optical emitting size. Here, we investigate the variability behaviors (cross-correlation and time delay) of three representative TDEs with continuum reverberation mapping. Our results demonstrate that TDE behavior is clearly inconsistent with the envelope reprocessing scenario. In contrast, the picture of the stream collision, together with the late-time formed accretion disk, can explain heterogeneous observations. This provides compelling evidence that the UV/optical emission originates from stream collisions during the early-stage of TDE evolution and gradually transitions to being dominated by accretion disk with detectable X-ray emission in a late stage. Dynamic NeRFs have recently garnered growing attention for 3D talking portrait synthesis. Despite advances in rendering speed and visual quality, challenges persist in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. We present R2-Talker, an efficient and effective framework enabling realistic real-time talking head synthesis. Specifically, using multi-resolution hash grids, we introduce a novel approach for encoding facial landmarks as conditional features. This approach losslessly encodes landmark structures as conditional features, decoupling input diversity, and conditional spaces by mapping arbitrary landmarks to a unified feature space. We further propose a scheme of progressive multilayer conditioning in the NeRF rendering pipeline for effective conditional feature fusion. Our new approach has the following advantages as demonstrated by extensive experiments compared with the state-of-the-art works: 1) The lossless input encoding enables acquiring more precise features, yielding superior visual quality. The decoupling of inputs and conditional spaces improves generalizability. 2) The fusing of conditional features and MLP outputs at each MLP layer enhances conditional impact, resulting in more accurate lip synthesis and better visual quality. 3) It compactly structures the fusion of conditional features, significantly enhancing computational efficiency.

Speech-driven 3D facial animation has improved a lot recently while most related works only utilize acoustic modality and neglect the influence of visual and textual cues, leading to unsatisfactory results in terms of precision and coherence. We argue that visual and textual cues are not trivial information. Therefore, we present a novel framework, namely PMMTalk, using complementary Pseudo Multi-Modal features for improving the accuracy of facial animation. The framework entails three modules: PMMTalk encoder, cross-modal alignment module, and PMMTalk decoder. Specifically, the PMMTalk encoder employs the off-the-shelf talking head generation architecture and speech recognition technology to extract visual and textual information from speech, respectively. Subsequently, the cross-modal alignment module aligns the audio-image-text features at temporal and semantic levels. Then PMMTalk decoder is employed to predict lip-syncing facial blendshape coefficients. Contrary to prior methods, PMMTalk only requires an additional random reference face image but yields more accurate results. Additionally, it is artist-friendly as it seamlessly integrates into standard animation production workflows by introducing facial blendshape coefficients. Finally, given the scarcity of 3D talking face datasets, we introduce a large-scale 3D Chinese Audio-Visual Facial Animation (3D-CAVFA) dataset. Tidal disruption events\,(TDEs) provide a valuable probe in studying the dynamics of stars in the nuclear environments of galaxies. Recent observations show that TDEs are strongly overrepresented in post-starburst or "green valley" galaxies, although the underlying physical mechanism remains unclear. Considering the possible interaction between stars and active galactic nucleus\,(AGN) disk, the TDE rates can be greatly changed compared to those in quiescent galactic nuclei. In this work, we revisit TDE rates by incorporating an evolving AGN disk within the framework of the "loss cone" theory. We numerically evolve the Fokker-Planck equations by considering the star-disk interactions, in-situ star formation in the unstable region of the outer AGN disk and the evolution of the accretion process for supermassive black holes\,(SMBHs). We find that the TDE rates are enhanced by about two orders of magnitude shortly after the AGN transitions into a non-active stage. During this phase, the accumulated stars are rapidly scattered into the loss cone due to the disappearance of the inner standard thin disk. This paper aims to build a multi-speaker expressive TTS system, synthesizing a target speaker's speech with multiple styles and emotions. To this end, we propose a novel contrastive learning-based TTS approach to transfer style and emotion across speakers. Specifically, contrastive learning from different levels, i.e. utterance and category level, is leveraged to extract the disentangled style, emotion, and speaker representations from speech for style and emotion transfer. Furthermore, a semi-supervised training strategy is introduced to improve the data utilization efficiency by involving multi-domain data, including style-labeled data, emotion-labeled data, and abundant unlabeled data. To achieve expressive speech with diverse styles and emotions for a target speaker, the learned disentangled representations are integrated into an improved VITS model. Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) in conversational settings presents unique challenges, including extracting relevant contextual information from previous conversational turns. Due to irrelevant content, error propagation, and redundancy, existing methods struggle to extract longer and more effective contexts. To address this issue, we introduce a novel conversational ASR system, extending the Conformer encoder-decoder model with cross-modal conversational representation. Our approach leverages a cross-modal extractor that combines pre-trained speech and text models through a specialized encoder and a modal-level mask input. This enables the extraction of richer historical speech context without explicit error propagation. We also incorporate conditional latent variational modules to learn conversational level attributes such as role preference and topic coherence. By introducing both cross-modal and conversational representations into the decoder, our model retains context over longer sentences without information loss, achieving relative accuracy improvements of 8.8% and 23% on Mandarin conversation datasets HKUST and MagicData-RAMC, respectively, compared to the standard Conformer model., Comment: TASLP

Utilizing the pseudo-labeling algorithm with large-scale unlabeled data becomes crucial for semi-supervised domain adaptation in speaker verification tasks. In this paper, we propose a novel pseudo-labeling method named Multi-objective Progressive Clustering (MoPC), specifically designed for semi-supervised domain adaptation. Firstly, we utilize limited labeled data from the target domain to derive domain-specific descriptors based on multiple distinct objectives, namely within-graph denoising, intra-class denoising and inter-class denoising. Then, the Infomap algorithm is adopted for embedding clustering, and the descriptors are leveraged to further refine the target domain's pseudo-labels. Moreover, to further improve the quality of pseudo labels, we introduce the subcenter-purification and progressive-merging strategy for label denoising. Our proposed MoPC method achieves 4.95% EER and ranked the 1$^{st}$ place on the evaluation set of VoxSRC 2023 track 3. We also conduct additional experiments on the FFSVC dataset and yield promising results.

ASASSN-14ko was identified as an abnormal periodic nuclear transient with a potential decreasing period. Its outbursts in the optical and UV bands have displayed a consistent and smooth "fast-rise and slow-decay" pattern since its discovery, which has recently experienced an unexpected alteration in the last two epochs, as revealed by our proposed high-cadence Swift observations. The new light curve profiles show a bump during the rising stages and a rebrightening during the declining stages, making them much broader and symmetrical than the previous ones. In the last two epochs, there is no significant difference in the X-ray spectral slope compared to the previous one, and its overall luminosity is lower than those of the previous epochs. The energy released in the early bump and rebrightening phases ($\sim10^{50}$ erg) could be due to collision of the stripped stream from partial tidal disruption events (pTDEs) with an expanded accretion disk. We also discussed other potential explanations, such as disk instability and star-disk collisions. It is widely acknowledged that discriminative representation for speaker verification can be extracted from verbal speech. However, how much speaker information that non-verbal vocalization carries is still a puzzle. This paper explores speaker verification based on the most ubiquitous form of non-verbal voice, laughter. First, we use a semi-automatic pipeline to collect a new Haha-Pod dataset from open-source podcast media. The dataset contains over 240 speakers' laughter clips with corresponding high-quality verbal speech. Second, we propose a Two-Stage Teacher-Student (2S-TS) framework to minimize the within-speaker embedding distance between verbal and non-verbal (laughter) signals. Considering Haha-Pod as a test set, two trials (S2L-Eval) are designed to verify the speaker's identity through laugh sounds. Experimental results demonstrate that our method can significantly improve the performance of the S2L-Eval test set with only a minor degradation on the VoxCeleb1 test set. We report the serendipitous discovery of a giant mid-infrared (MIR) outburst from a previously unknown source near a star-forming region in the constellation Monoceros. The source gradually brightened by a factor of 5 from 2014 to 2016 before an abrupt rise by a factor of more than 100 in 2017. A total amplitude increase of >500 at 4.5 microns has since faded by a factor of about 10. Prior to the outburst, it was only detected at wavelengths longer than 1.8 microns in UKIDSS, Spitzer, and Herschel with a spectral energy distribution of a Class I Young Stellar Object (YSO). It has not been detected in recent optical surveys, suggesting that it is deeply embedded. With a minimum distance of 3.5 kpc, the source has a bolometric luminosity of at least 9 $L_\odot$ in the quiescent state and 400 $L_\odot$ at the peak of the eruption. The maximum accretion rate is estimated to be at least a few $10^{-5}$ $M_\odot$ year$^{-1}$. It shares several common properties with another eruptive event, WISE~J142238.82-611553.7: exceptionally large amplitude, featureless near-infrared spectrum with the exception of H_2 lines, intermediate eruption duration, an embedded Class I YSO, and a low radiative temperature (<600-700 K) in outburst. In the diffusive regime, we obtain the uniform in Knudsen number estimate on the two-species Vlasov-Maxwell-Landau system with Coulomb potential around the global equilibrium. As a consequence, we justify the limit to the two-fluid incompressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier-Maxwell (NSFM) system with Ohm's law. We obtain the global-in-time and uniform in Knudsen number $\epsilon$ energy estimate for the cutoff and non-cutoff scaled Vlasov-Maxwell-Boltzmann system for the soft potential. For the non-cutoff soft potential cases, our analysis relies heavily on additional dissipative mechanisms with respect to velocity, which are brought about by the strong angular singularity hypothesis, i.e. $\frac12\leq s<1$. In the case of cutoff cases, our proof relies on two new kinds of weight functions and complex construction of energy functions, and here we ask $\gamma\geq-1$. In the diffusive scaling and in the whole space, we prove the global well-posedness of the scaled Boltzmann-Bose-Einstein (briefly, BBE) equation with high temperature in the low regularity space $H^2_xL^2$. In particular, we quantify the fluctuation around the Bose-Einstein equilibrium $\mathcal{M}_{\lambda,T}(v)$ with respect to the parameters $\lambda$ and temperature $T$. Furthermore, the estimate for the diffusively scaled BBE equation is uniform to the Knudsen number $\epsilon$. As a consequence, we rigorously justify the hydrodynamic limit to the incompressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations. This is the first rigorous fluid limit result for BBE., Comment: 42 pages

The multiwavelength data of nuclear transient AT2018dyk, initially discovered as a changing-look low-ionization nuclear emission-line region (LINER) galaxy, has been revisited by us and found being in agreement with a tidal disruption event (TDE) scenario. The optical light curve of AT2018dyk declines as a power-law form approximately with index -5/3 yet its X-ray emission lags behind the optical peak by $\sim140$ days, both of which are typical characteristics for TDEs. The X-ray spectra are softer than normal active galactic nuclei (AGNs) although they show a slight trend of hardening. Interestingly, its rising time scale belongs to the longest among TDEs while it is nicely consistent with the theoretical prediction from its relatively large supermassive black hole (SMBH) mass ($\sim10^{7.38} M_{\odot}$). Moreover, a prominent infrared echo with peak luminosity $\sim7.4\times10^{42}~\text{erg}~\text{s}^{-1}$ has been also detected in AT2018dyk, implying an unusually dusty subparsec nuclear environment in contrast with other TDEs. In our sample, LINERs share similar covering factors with AGNs, which indicates the existence of the dusty torus in these objects. Our work suggests that the nature of nuclear transients in LINERs needs to be carefully identified and their infrared echoes offer us a unique opportunity for exploring the environment of SMBHs at low accretion rate, which has been so far poorly explored but is crucial for understanding the SMBH activity., Comment: 9 pages, 6figures, 1 table. This paper is the system description of the DKU-MSXF System for the track1, track2 and track3 of the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge 2023 (VoxSRC-23). For Track 1, we utilize a network structure based on ResNet for training. By constructing a cross-age QMF training set, we achieve a substantial improvement in system performance. For Track 2, we inherite the pre-trained model from Track 1 and conducte mixed training by incorporating the VoxBlink-clean dataset. In comparison to Track 1, the models incorporating VoxBlink-clean data exhibit a performance improvement by more than 10% relatively. For Track3, the semi-supervised domain adaptation task, a novel pseudo-labeling method based on triple thresholds and sub-center purification is adopted to make domain adaptation. The final submission achieves mDCF of 0.1243 in task1, mDCF of 0.1165 in Track 2 and EER of 4.952% in Track 3., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2210.05092

This paper describes the DKU-MSXF submission to track 4 of the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge 2023 (VoxSRC-23). Our system pipeline contains voice activity detection, clustering-based diarization, overlapped speech detection, and target-speaker voice activity detection, where each procedure has a fused output from 3 sub-models. Finally, we fuse different clustering-based and TSVAD-based diarization systems using DOVER-Lap and achieve the 4.30% diarization error rate (DER), which ranks first place on track 4 of the challenge leaderboard.

In this paper, we introduce a large-scale and high-quality audio-visual speaker verification dataset, named VoxBlink. We propose an innovative and robust automatic audio-visual data mining pipeline to curate this dataset, which contains 1.45M utterances from 38K speakers. Due to the inherent nature of automated data collection, introducing noisy data is inevitable. Therefore, we also utilize a multi-modal purification step to generate a cleaner version of the VoxBlink, named VoxBlink-clean, comprising 18K identities and 1.02M utterances. In contrast to the VoxCeleb, the VoxBlink sources from short videos of ordinary users, and the covered scenarios can better align with real-life situations. To our best knowledge, the VoxBlink dataset is one of the largest publicly available speaker verification datasets. Leveraging the VoxCeleb and VoxBlink-clean datasets together, we employ diverse speaker verification models with multiple architectural backbones to conduct comprehensive evaluations on the VoxCeleb test sets. Experimental results indicate a substantial enhancement in performance,ranging from 12% to 30% relatively, across various backbone architectures upon incorporating the VoxBlink-clean into the training process. Recently, three optical tidal disruption event (TDE) candidates discovered by the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) have been suggested to be coincident with high-energy neutrinos. They all exhibit unusually strong dust infrared (IR) echoes, with their peak times matching the neutrino arrival time even better than the optical peaks. We hereby report on two new TDE candidates that are spatially and temporally coincident with neutrinos by matching our sample of mid-infrared outbursts in nearby galaxies (MIRONG) with Gold alerts of IceCube high-energy neutrino events up to June 2022. The two candidates show negligible optical variability according to their ZTF light curves and can therefore be classified as part of the growing population of obscured TDE candidates. The chance probability of finding two such candidates about $\sim3\%$ by redistributing the MIRONG sources randomly in the SDSS footprint, which will be as low as $\sim0.1\%$ (or $\sim0.2\%$) if we limit to sources with increased fluxes (or variability amplitudes) comparable with the matched two sources. Our findings further support the potential connection between high-energy neutrinos and TDEs in dusty environments by increasing the total number of neutrino-associated TDE and TDE candidates to five, although the underlying physics remains poorly understood., Comment: Published, ApJL, 953, L12

This paper describes the NPU-MSXF system for the IWSLT 2023 speech-to-speech translation (S2ST) task which aims to translate from English speech of multi-source to Chinese speech. The system is built in a cascaded manner consisting of automatic speech recognition (ASR), machine translation (MT), and text-to-speech (TTS). We make tremendous efforts to handle the challenging multi-source input. Specifically, to improve the robustness to multi-source speech input, we adopt various data augmentation strategies and a ROVER-based score fusion on multiple ASR model outputs. To better handle the noisy ASR transcripts, we introduce a three-stage fine-tuning strategy to improve translation accuracy. Finally, we build a TTS model with high naturalness and sound quality, which leverages a two-stage framework, using network bottleneck features as a robust intermediate representation for speaker timbre and linguistic content disentanglement. Based on the two-stage framework, pre-trained speaker embedding is leveraged as a condition to transfer the speaker timbre in the source English speech to the translated Chinese speech. Experimental results show that our system has high translation accuracy, speech naturalness, sound quality, and speaker similarity. We report the discovery of a faint optical tidal disruption event (TDE) in the nearby star-forming galaxy NGC 3799. Identification of the TDE is based on its position at the galaxy nucleus, a light curve declining as t^-5/3, a blue continuum with an almost constant blackbody temperature of ~12,000K, and broad (~15,000kms^-1) Balmer lines and characteristic He~II 4686A emission. The light curve of AT 2023clx peaked at an absolute magnitude of -17.16mag in the g-band and a maximum blackbody bolometric luminosity of 4.56*10^42 ergs^-1, making it the faintest TDE discovered to date. With a redshift of 0.01107 and a corresponding luminosity distance of 47.8Mpc, it is also the closest optical TDE ever discovered to our best knowledge. Furthermore, our analysis of Swift/XRT observations of AT 2023clx yields a very tight 3 sigma upper limit of 9.53*10^39 ergs^-1 in the range 0.3--10keV. AT 2023clx, together with very few other faint TDEs such as AT 2020wey, prove that there are probably a large number of faint TDEs yet to be discovered at higher redshifts, which is consistent with the prediction of luminosity functions (LFs). The upcoming deeper optical time-domain surveys, such as the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) and the Wide-Field Survey Telescope (WFST) will discover more TDEs at even lower luminosities, allowing for a more precise constraint of the low-end of the LF., Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures; Accepted for ApJL (July, 2023)
