This study examines the evaluation of telework through anonym questionnaire addressed to different conditional groups of 185 teleworkers in Romania. Through a correlation analysis between the variables, using SAS Enterprise Miner we obtained a relevant decision tree. The results suggest that there are differences in the evaluation of factors affecting work at home efficiency and the qualities required from a remote worker, depending on gender, age, education and experience of telework. The results are discussed in terms of the characteristics of the most satisfied and the most dissatisfied teleworkers perception.

Road pavement management and maintenance are responsible for a considerable amount of resources and energy consumption, with limited options to forecast due to the fact that projects have different sizes, are taking place in regions with various types of soil, landforms or types of distress. The objective of this paper is to offer a solution for risk management using Monte Carlo simulation by taking into consideration three key aspects for the management of any project: costs, time, quality and the most important road parameter, that may cause the failure of the project - type of road distress. As a module of PAV3M maintenance and management project, Risk3M application uses the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and the Long-Term Pavement Performance Program (LTPP) in order to identify and classify risk based on the type of road distress, using a scale from 1 (very poor) to 5 (very good). The impact on costs (Rc), on risks depending on the time span (Rt) and on the overall quality of the project (Rq) where classified in a scale from 1 to 5. Risk management forecasts those situations that can damage the proposed goals or jeopardize the completion of projects in time. The aim of this paper is to highlight risk management tailored practices for pavement roads maintenance projects. All presented practices and risk management analysis are consistent with international standards, processes and assets. Present work also describes a particular analysis and prioritization of risk factors for their implementation in a web application. For risk mitigation we used the k-nearest neighbors (k-NN) algorithm, which is based on mathematical kernel density estimates nonparametric alternative method for reference class forecasting. This method helps project managers and planners to estimate durations in pavement management and maintenance systems and provides more realistic alternative dates and critical paths. This paper describes an application that aims to monitor and stimulate physical activity adapted to elderly people. The application is implemented as a part of Mobile@Old platform. The specific exercises and the speed of the trainer is adapted to the user's movements. Health parameters like fatigue, respiratory rate, heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (BPS) and diastolic blood pressure (BPD) are recovered from the Kinect parameters or transmitted via the mobile application. Collaborative process characteristics have three dimensions: actors, activities and action's logic. The aim of this paper is to present a virtual portal's model that helps managing consortiums. Our model based on dynamic e-collaboration and it has a modular structure, multilayer approach. System's functionality of virtual enterprise is collaborative model is concern on users' login, based on role and access control, searching and providing distributed resources, accessibility, metadata management and improved information's management. Obesity is associated with a high risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, management of body weight to prevent obesity remains as an important priority. The present investigation addresses the effects of Omega-3 PUFAs on body weight, blood composition and histological aspects in guinea pigs. We used 21 Guinea pigs, 12 weeks old, which were randomly assigned to control group, 0.5 % cholesterol in diet group and 0.5 % cholesterol in diet plus Omega-3 group. Guinea pigs fed with 0.5 % cholesterol in diet showed a significant increase in body weight and serum levels - total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) and LDL cholesterol (LDLC) - when compared to control group (P=0.0039, P=0.00950, P=0.00001, P= 0.00134 respectively). They also develop severe hepatic steatosis. Adding Omega-3 in diet significant reduce body weight, serum levels - TC, TG and LDL-C and hepatic steatosis when compared to control group (P=0.04077, P= 0.01, P=0.00001, P=0.0995). In conclusion, concerning the efficacy of Omega-3 fatty acids to reduce body weight, hypertriglyceridemia and hepatic steatosis, their adding in diet have positive effects in obesity prevention.
