A field experiment was conducted in the summer season of 2019 to determine the effect of salicylic acid (50, 100 and 150 mg l-1) and GA3 (30, 60 and 90 mg l-1) as well as control treatment on growth and yield of mung bean. Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications was used. Seeds of the Local variety were cultivated in 15/8/2018 in both sides of ridges 80 cm at hills 15 cm apart. The results showed that spraying salicylic acid and GA3 at all doses gave significantly high plant height, plant leaves number, leaf chlorophyll content, pod length, plant pods number, pod seeds number, 100 seeds weight and seeds yield compared to control. GA3 at 90 mgl-1 gave 54.9 cm plant height, 37.0 leaves plant-1, 34.7 pods plant-1 1.19 mg/g fresh weight, 7.8 cm pod length, 8.0 pods plant-1, 4.12 g of 100 seeds weight and 1829 kg ha-1 seed yield compared to control treatment 43.2 cm, 31.8 leaves, 27.7 pods, 0.88 mg/g, 6.55 cm, 7.4 seeds 4.02 g and 1318 kg ha-1, respectively. An experiment was conducted in 2018/2019 growth season in the field of Agriculture College, Babylon, Iraq to study the effect of alternative irrigation (irrigation when water capacity reached 50% and the other treatment was skipping from one irrigation to the third irrigation as the plant mature), moisture preservation (with and without) and humus spraying on root zone (with and without) on growth and heads of cabbage. Randomized complete block design with three replications was used. The results showed that water stress by alternative irrigation caused significant reduction in chlorophyll, leaf area, cabbage head diameter, total and marketable heat weight compared with normal irrigation, while moisture preservation caused significant increases in these parameters. Adding humus also significantly increases these parameters. Water stress caused percentage decreasing of marketable cabbage head by 37.3%, while moisture preservation or humus alleviate the reduction of stress to 8.4% and 30.8% respectively. The experiment was carried out at two sites north of Dhi-Qar governorate (Dawwaya and Shatrah courts, 45 km apart) for spring season (2019) to study the response of sweet corn to three planting dates (1 March, 15 March and 1 April ) and DAP fertilizer (di-ammonium phosphate) in four applications : control, adding all fertilizer (120 kg ha-1) at seeding time, division the fertilizer half at seeding stage and at 8 leaves stage or -half at seeding and the other at 12 leaves stage . Split plot design with three replications was used. The fertilizer was adding in line 10 cm down of planting line. The results showed that seeding dates caused significant effect on plant growth and yield and seeding on March 15 achieved significant increase in all growth and yield parameters (plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll content, Fresh ear weight with and without sheaths, edible ear yield and 100 dry seed weight) for both sites compared to March 1. On the other hand, adding fertilizer caused significant effect on all traits compared to control and split fertilizers had no significant effect on growth traits, while split fertilizer at seeding and 12 leaves achieved significantly the highest values of edible ear weight (229.7 and 233.7 g) in both sites. A field experiment was carried out during the autumn season in 2013 in a farm located in Alhashimiya (20 km south east of Hilla), to study the effect of salicylic acid and phosphorus spraying on yield of maize under conditions of deficit irrigation. Split-split plot arrangement in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications was used, operated irrigation treatments (A0 full irrigation, A1 deficit irrigation) in panels major plots , while concentrations of phosphorus (0, 1000 and 2000 mg.L-1) panels the sub plot and concentrations of salicylic acid (0, 0.5 and 1 mM ) panels the sub-sub plots. Maize grain (cv. Research 106) was seeded in 20- July/2013. The results showed that deficit irrigation led to reduce most of yield components (rows number, grain number, length and diameter of ear) significantly. Salicylic acid and phosphorous spraying led to remove or reduce this negative effect of water stress, in which P at 1000 mg.L-1 was superior in giving the highest rate of most yield components (ear length, rows number and weight of 500 grain). The experiment was conducted on the extension experiments farm in Babylon during the growing season 2013 - 2014 to study the effect of 5 soil fertilization treatments [control, 200 kg.ha-1 of NPK (18-18-0), 4 and 8 t.ha-1 of compost of poultry], and its interaction with 4 treatments of foliar fertilizers [control, spray urea 1 g / liter, spraying humic acid 2 ml.l-1 and spray polimet 2 ml.l-1] on growth and yield of fenugreek. Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications was used. Seeds are sown on lines (30 cm apart) in 21.10.2013 and the experimental unit contained 6 lines. After a week of germination the seedlings were thinned to 10 cm apart. Soil fertilizers were added as side dressing and the foliar fertilizers were added twice in 15/1 and 01/02/2014. The results showed that chemical fertilizer was superior significantly compared to other treatment in plant height, number of leaves, leaf area and wet and dry weight, while poultry (8 t.ha-1) was superior compared to control in branches number and wet weight. Urea spray was superior in plant height, leaves no. and soft weight. Polimet spray was superior compared to control in branches.plant-1.
