25. Impact of Learning Environment on Academic Performance of Colleges Students

Abstract

The study focuses on the impact of learning environment on academic performance of Colleges students. Quantitative method was applied. Therefore, survey research design was used. Population was comprised of 85 five colleges of five districts of Punjab including Layyah, Bhakhar, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur. A sample of 384 students was selected through stratified sampling method out of 50893 under the guidelines of Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sample table. Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) was applied to assess the learning environment of the colleges whereas academic performance of students was assessed by different dimension which identified by Lateef (2020). Researcher validated the instrument by using Content Validity Ratio (CVR) in which all the items falls between the acceptable range whereas the reliability score of DREEM and academic performance scale estimated .873 and .799 respectively. Pearson product correlation, linear regression, t-test and ANOVA were used. The study concluded that learning environment has positively and significantly impact on the students’ academic performance. It is recommended that teachers and college administration work together to build a positive learning environment through mutual understanding and cooperation in order to produce a productive learning environment which enhance the academic performance of students.

Abstract

Short-chain olefins are the important feedstock for the chemical industries. The selection of a proper catalyst for oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) reaction is critical. Here, the study summarized different catalysts by physicochemical techniques such as BET surface area, Raman spectroscopy, and temperature programmed reduction (TPR). The BET analysis of different catalysts gives an optimum value of active and metal loading catalysts for optimum alkenes selectivity. From different Raman spectroscopy analyses, the study pointed out the factor responsible for varying mono vanadate and poly vanadate formation. From TPR analysis of different catalysts, this study pointed out the factors that varied on increasing or decreasing temperature and the effect on the selectivity of alkenes. The effect of different operating conditions was studied. Without catalyst regeneration after each ODH run, the catalyst under the study shows stable behavior and increases the selectivity of the desired product. The CREC riser simulator was used for ODH of propane and ethane, while two zones of fluidized bed reactor (TZFBR) and ICFBR reactors were used for ODH of butane. From the study of MoO3/MgO catalyst, it was observed that TZFBR have high selectivity of butadiene than CFBR and fixed bed reactor. It was concluded that the catalyst VOx–Nb/La-ɣAl2O3 has high conversion (20.1%) of ethane and good selectivity of (85.7%) of ethylene, while in ODH of propane and butane the catalyst 7.5 VOx/ɣAl2O3·ZrO2 (1:1) and MoO3/MgO have high selectivity of propane and 1,3-butadiene respectively. Abstract

The current study focused on the quality of education in PEIMA financially assisted PSSP schools of district Mianwali. The quantitative method and survey design were applied. The objectives of the study were to evaluate the quality of education in PEIMA-assisted PSSP Schools and to explore weaknesses regarding the quality of education in these Schools. All the male and female primary schools established in the public sector and supported by the Punjab Education Initiative Management Authority under PSSP mode in district Mianwali constituted the population of the study. Five research questions and seven hypotheses were formulated. The sample size of the study was 33 principals and 110 teachers. The instrument used was a researcher-designed 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. Test of Validity & Reliability and Pilot testing were done before administering the instrument. Collected data were analyzed by applying frequency, percentage, mean scores, t-test, and One Away ANOVA. According to QAT results of the district, Mianwali indicated that 33 schools before the implementation of the PSSP program were 35-36% while the result of these schools after the implementation of the PSSP program was 52-53%. Therefore, it shows high achievement in an academic field. This study can help the concerned authorities and implementing partners to consider study findings for recruitment & selection, training & development, performance appraisal, succession planning & infrastructure facilities, and academic achievement of the student and teacher's competencies. Abstract

This comparative study was conducted to investigate the influence of authentic leadership on the organizational commitment of secondary school teachers. The study focuses on both public and private secondary schools, recognizing the distinct contextual factors that may shape the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational commitment in these two sectors. This study aimed to bridge the gap by exploring the potential impact of authentic leadership behaviors exhibited by school principals on the organizational commitment of teachers, while considering potential variations between the public and private school contexts. A mixed method was employed. Data collection involved surveys, interviews, and document analysis. The findings suggest that authentic leadership plays a crucial role in influencing teachers' affective and normative commitment levels in both public and private secondary schools in the KP region. The implications of these findings are significant for educational policymakers, school administrators, and leadership development programs. Strengthening authentic leadership behaviors among school principals could foster higher levels of organizational commitment among teachers, contributing to improved educational outcomes and teacher well-being. The study underscores the need for tailored approaches in enhancing authentic leadership practices based on the specific sector; thereby promoting a more committed and engaged teaching workforce in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
