Summary In-situ combustion (ISC) has been proven as a promising technique for the extraction of heavy oils. It has been used in oil fields since the 1920s; however, it is still not as widely used as steam injection. One of the difficulties limiting its wide application is monitoring and controlling the movement of the combustion front. This work is aimed at studying the change in the properties of rock during the ISC process, which is expected to be used for developing an effective monitoring method of the combustion front movement. Rock samples before and after the ISC process were obtained from the Xinjiang Oil field (China) where an ISC industrial pilot has been implemented. In the temperature range of lower than 500℃, the minerals may only alter slightly. Therefore, it is difficult to determine whether the rock was heated or not during the ISC processes using general mineralogical or geochemical methods, for example, X-ray diffraction. This work takes a comprehensive approach to study the variation of rock properties. Magnetic analysis was chosen as the primary method since a very tiny change in the mineral composition during heating leads to profound changes in the magnetic properties. We analyzed magnetic susceptibility (MS), natural remanent magnetization (NRM), hysteresis parameters and thermomagnetic data. In addition, we performed differential thermomagnetic analysis (DTMA) for tracing magnetic minerals based on their Curie temperatures as well as for monitoring transformations in magnetic minerals during heating. Simultaneously, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), optical microscope for thin-sections, and organic content measurements were used as assistive methods to get a comprehensive evaluation on the variation of rock. We found that there is a big difference in magnetic minerals between the initial samples (not subjected to the ISC process) and burned samples from different wells and depths in the ISC pilot. Several magnetic clusters with different coercive force and domain structure were found in these samples. Based on the difference in magnetic properties, we found that the burned samples were heated to different temperatures during the ISC process. In addition, for some rock samples, the heating temperature during the ISC process was determined, and an analysis was made of the propagation of the combustion front. The thermal magnetic properties variation of rock during the ISC process is obvious, which makes it promising to be used for monitoring the propagation direction of the combustion front. Theoretical calculations of magnetic anomalies that occur due to changes in the magnetic properties of rocks during the ISC process indicate the possibility of the detection of such anomalies from the Earth’s surface through high-precision magnetic surveys. The findings in this work provide a theoretical base and direction for developing combustion front monitoring technologies.

Anaplastic thyroid carcinomas (ATC) are a heterogenous group of tumors of overall dismal prognosis. We designed models to identify relevant prognostic factors of survival of irradiated ATC patients including radiotherapy modalities (field size, dose).Between 2000 and 2017, 166 ATC patients' treatments were divided into surgery and postoperative radiotherapy (poRT) or definitive radiotherapy (RT). Multiple imputation approach was used for missing data. Prognostic factors were identified using Lasso-penalized Cox modelling and predicted risk scores were built.Patients undergoing RT (n=70) had more adverse patient and disease characteristics than those undergoing poRT (n=96). Corresponding median survival rates were 5.4 and 12.1 months, respectively. PoRT patients undergoing poRT more likely received extended-field radiotherapy with prophylactic nodal irradiation, but rather received platinum- vs. adriamycin-based chemoradiotherapy. Radiotherapy was conventionally fractionated, delivered60Gy in 51.9% and 61.7% and used extended fields in 88.5% and 71.2% of patients with poRT or RT. Radiotherapy interruption rates for toxicity were similar in the two groups. The best poRT-group model identified age45yo, PS≥1, pathologic tumor stage≥pT4b,N1 and R2 resection as poor prognostic factors. The best RT-group model (C-index of 0.72) identified PS≥3,N1 and extended-field radiotherapy with prophylactic nodal irradiation (as opposed to tumour-bed irradiation only) as poor prognostic factors.In patients undergoing poRT, radiotherapy parameters had little influence over their survival irrespective of patient, disease characteristics, and quality of resection. In patients undergoing RT, extended-field radiotherapy improved survival in addition to PS and nodal stage.

Judicious opioid use is important for balancing patient comfort and safety. Although opioid use is well studied in adult populations, pediatric opioid prescription practices are less understood and there are very few guidelines regarding its usage. The purpose of this study was to investigate pediatric opioid prescription trends by emergency medicine physicians over the last ten years, including assessing proxies for the adequacy of pain control and risk of any opioid-related adverse events including overdose.A retrospective analysis was performed of all patients age 0 to 18 who presented to an urban county hospital emergency department (ED) between 2007 and 2017 for acute fracture care. Data collected included age, opioids given in the ED, opioid prescriptions from the ED, adverse events, and secondary opioid prescriptions. Opioid prescription quantities were assessed in morphine equivalents (Meqs).Out of 4713 patients diagnosed with acute fracture, opioid prescriptions from the ED were given to 1772 patients (37.6%), with a mean quantity of 107.0 Meqs (SD = 69.1). Over the ten-year period studied, prescription rates declined from 54.8% in 2007 to 13.6% in 2017. Although 201 (4.3%) fracture patients had a second fracture-related ED visit, only 27 visits (0.57%) were for inadequate pain control, with no significant differences in year-to-year analysis. During the ten-year study period, there were zero opioid overdoses reported among pediatric fracture patients.A major shift has occurred in the last ten years, as emergency medicine physicians now favor non-opioid pain management regimens over opioids for the majority of pediatric fracture patients. There was no increase in the rate of inadequate pain control requiring a return to the ED, even as opioid prescription rates declined during the study period.

This letter documents a search for flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNCs), which are strongly suppressed in the Standard Model, in events with a photon and a top quark with the ATLAS detector. The analysis uses data collected in pp collisions at s=13 TeV during Run 2 of the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{−1}$. Both FCNC top-quark production and decay are considered. The final state consists of a charged lepton, missing transverse momentum, a b-tagged jet, one high-momentum photon and possibly additional jets. A multiclass deep neural network is used to classify events either as signal in one of the two categories, FCNC production or decay, or as background. No significant excess of events over the background prediction is observed and 95% CL upper limits are placed on the strength of left- and right-handed FCNC interactions. The 95% CL bounds on the branching fractions for the FCNC top-quark decays, estimated (expected) from both top-quark production and decay, are B(t→uγ)<0.85(0.88−0.25+0.37)×10−5 and B(t→cγ)<4.2(3.40−0.95+1.35)×10−5 for a left-handed tqγ coupling, and B(t→uγ)<1.2(1.20−0.33+0.50)×10−5 and B(t→cγ)<4.5(3.70−1.03+1.47)×10−5 for a right-handed coupling.

The accommodation of renewable energy is driving the development of energy storage technology, and shared energy storage has gained widespread attention because of its decentralized nature. In the optimal scheduling of shared energy storage, the problem of benefit distribution among multiple subjects is faced, so a shared energy storage plant operation optimization method based on Nash bargaining theory is proposed. The article constructs a joint model of shared energy storage plants and industrial users, establishes the cooperative operation model of each operator based on Nash bargaining theory, equates this nonconvex nonlinear problem into two subproblems of system revenue maximization and power transaction payment bargaining according to the mean value inequality, and uses the alternating direction multiplier method to solve them in a distributed manner. The algorithm selects three typical industrial users to participate in the joint system of shared energy storage, and through comparative analysis before and after cooperative bargaining, it is concluded that the proposed optimization method can effectively improve the benefits of each subject, while promoting the accommodation of new energy. Размещение возобновляемых источников энергии стимулирует развитие технологий хранения энергии, а совместное хранение энергии получило широкое распространение благодаря своей децентрализованной природе. При оптимальном планировании совместного использования накопителей энергии возникает проблема распределения выгоды между несколькими субъектами, поэтому предлагается метод оптимизации работы установки совместного хранения энергии, основанный на теории сделки Нэша. Построена совместная модель общих станций хранения энергии и промышленных пользователей, определена модель совместной работы каждого оператора на основе теории сделки Нэша, эта невыпуклая нелинейная задача разделена на две подзадачи: максимизации дохода системы и согласования оплаты за транзакцию электроэнергии в соответствии с неравенством среднего значения, и для их решения распределенным способом используется метод множителей переменного направления. Алгоритм выбирает трех типичных промышленных пользователей для участия в совместной системе хранения энергии, и путем сравнительного анализа до и после совместных переговоров делается вывод, что предложенный метод оптимизации может эффективно улучшить выгоды каждого субъекта, одновременно способствуя размещению новой энергии.

Complementary multi-energy operation is an inevitable trend in the development of integrated energy systems, and the construction of a fair and reasonable distribution method among multiple stakeholders is the key to realizing complementary multi-energy operation. Integrated energy systems have important applications for achieving sustainable energy development and building a green, low-carbon society, while the complex internal energy structures and equipment coupling relationships pose challenges for their operational optimization. Taking advantage of the interactive and complementary relationship between power and heat on both the supply and demand sides, energy storage devices are used on the supply side to realize the thermo-electrolytic coupling of the combined supply equipment and to enhance the multi-energy supply capacity of the system through each energy conversion device. On the demand side, load types are classified, and the elasticity of electrical loads and the diversity of system heating methods are used to construct a comprehensive energy demand response model with time shifting and curtailment responses of electrical loads and responses of heating load supply methods, and to propose a response compensation mechanism. On this basis, with the objective of minimizing the sum of system operation cost and response compensation cost, the mathematical model for optimal operation of integrated energy systems based on multi-energy complementarity is established, taking into account the equipment operation and dispatchable load resource constraints on both the supply and demand sides. Simulation results and comparative analyses based on arithmetic examples show that: synergistic optimization of both supply and demand, taking into account multi-energy complementarities, can effectively improve the flexibility and operational economy of the system. Взаимодополняющая мультиэнергетическая работа является неизбежной тенденцией в развитии интегрированных энергетических систем. Построение справедливого и разумного метода распределения среди множества заинтересованных сторон является ключом к реализации взаимодополняющей мультиэнергетической работы. Интегрированные энергетические системы имеют важные приложения для достижения устойчивого развития энергетики и построения зеленого общества с низким уровнем выбросов углерода, в то время как сложные внутренние энергетические структуры и взаимосвязь оборудования создают проблемы для их операционной оптимизации. Используя интерактивные и взаимодополняющие отношения между мощностью и теплом как на стороне предложения, так и на стороне потребления, устройства накопления энергии используются на стороне предложения для реализации термоэлектролитической связи комбинированного оборудования подачи и увеличения мощности подачи нескольких источников энергии системы через каждое устройство преобразования энергии. Со стороны спроса классифицируются типы нагрузки, а эластичность электрических нагрузок и разнообразие методов нагрева системы используются для построения комплексной модели реагирования на спрос на энергию со сдвигом во времени и реакцией сокращения электрических нагрузок и реакцией методов снабжения отопительной нагрузки, и предложить механизм компенсации ответа. На этой основе с целью минимизации суммы стоимости эксплуатации системы и стоимости компенсации срабатывания устанавливается математическая модель оптимальной работы интегрированных энергетических систем на основе мультиэнергетической комплементарности с учетом ограничений по ресурсам работы оборудования и диспетчерской нагрузки как со стороны предложения, так и со стороны спроса. Результаты моделирования и сравнительный анализ, основанный на арифметических примерах, показывают, что: синергетическая оптимизация спроса и предложения с учетом взаимодополняемости нескольких источников энергии может эффективно повысить гибкость и экономичность системы.

A recent systematic review recommended time-varying methods for minimizing bias when estimating the excess length of stay (LOS) for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs); however, little evidence exists concerning which time-varying method is best used for HAI incidence studies.To undertake a retrospective analysis of data from a one-year prospective incidence study of HAIs, in one teaching hospital and one general hospital in NHS Scotland.Three time-varying methods - multistate model, multivariable adjusted survival regression, and matched case-control approach - were applied to the data to estimate excess LOS and compared.The unadjusted excess LOS estimated from the multistate model was 7.8 (95% confidence interval: 5.7-9.9) days, being shorter than the excess LOS estimated from survival regression adjusting for the admission characteristics (9.9; 8.4-11.7) days, and the adjusted estimates from matched case-control approach (10; 8.5-11.5) days. All estimates from the time-varying methods were much lower than the crude time-fixed estimates of 27 days.Studies examining LOS associated with HAI should consider a design which addresses time-dependent bias as a minimum. If there is an imbalance in patient characteristics between the HAI and non-HAI groups, then adjustment for patient characteristics is also important, where survival regression with time-dependent covariates is likely to provide the most flexible approach. Matched design is more likely to result in data loss, whereas a multistate model is limited by the challenge in adjusting for covariates. These findings have important implications for future cost-effectiveness studies of infection prevention and control programmes.

- Abstract
Cancer development requires a favorable tissue microenvironment. By deleting Myd88 in keratinocytes or specific bone marrow subpopulations in oncogenic RAS-mediated skin carcinogenesis, we show that IL17 from infiltrating T cells and IκBζ signaling in keratinocytes are essential to produce a permissive microenvironment and tumor formation. Both normal and RAS-transformed keratinocytes respond to tumor promoters by activating canonical NF-κB and IκBζ signaling, releasing specific cytokines and chemokines that attract Th17 cells through MyD88-dependent signaling in T cells. The release of IL17 into the microenvironment elevates IκBζ in normal and RAS-transformed keratinocytes. Activation of IκBζ signaling is required for the expression of specific promoting factors induced by IL17 in normal keratinocytes and constitutively expressed in RAS-initiated keratinocytes. Deletion of Nfkbiz in keratinocytes impairs RAS-mediated benign tumor formation. Transcriptional profiling and gene set enrichment analysis of IκBζ−deficient RAS-initiated keratinocytes indicate that IκBζ signaling is common for RAS transformation of multiple epithelial cancers. Probing The Cancer Genome Atlas datasets using this transcriptional profile indicates that reduction of IκBζ signaling during cancer progression associates with poor prognosis in RAS-driven human cancers.Implications:The paradox that elevation of IκBζ and stimulation of IκBζ signaling through tumor extrinsic factors is required for RAS-mediated benign tumor formation while relative IκBζ expression is reduced in advanced cancers with poor prognosis implies that tumor cells switch from microenvironmental dependency early in carcinogenesis to cell-autonomous pathways during cancer progression.

Urbanization has been shown to influence the composition and diversity of soil microbial communities. However, the functional response of the soil microbial community to urbanization is not well studied. In this study, we used the Biolog Microplates method to characterize microbial catabolic profiles in Eucalyptus plantations of soil samples from urban, suburban and rural sites in Guangzhou, China. The results showed that there were significant differences in the average well-color development (AWCD) of all carbon sources among the three urban–rural plantations microbial communities, and the Simpson functional diversity index showed significant differences. Soil microbial metabolic activity showed a significantly negative correlation with soil variables (pH, total nitrogen, available Cu, available Zn, total Pb, total Cr and total Cd) except bulk density and organic carbon. Additionally, the three urban–rural plantations microbial communities differed significantly in the metabolic utilization of carbohydrates, phenols, amino acids and amines, however there were no significant differences in the carboxylic acids and polymers. Furthermore, the principal component analysis revealed that the microbial communities of three urban–rural plantations had obviously different metabolic functions. These results revealed that urbanization distinctly decreased soil microbial activities and affected soil microbial function.

The transverse momentum (p T) differential cross section of the charm-strange baryon Ξ c 0 $$ {\Xi}_{\mathrm{c}}^0 $$ is measured at midrapidity (|y| < 0.5) via its semileptonic decay into e+Ξ − ν e in pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The ratio of the p T-differential Ξ c 0 $$ {\Xi}_{\mathrm{c}}^0 $$ -baryon and D0-meson production cross sections is also reported. The measurements are compared with simulations with different tunes of the PYTHIA 8 event generator, with predictions from a statistical hadronisation model (SHM) with a largely augmented set of charm-baryon states beyond the current lists of the Particle Data Group, and with models including hadronisation via quark coalescence. The p T-integrated cross section of prompt Ξ c 0 $$ {\Xi}_{\mathrm{c}}^0 $$ -baryon production at midrapidity is also reported, which is used to calculate the baryon-to-meson ratio Ξ c 0 $$ {\Xi}_{\mathrm{c}}^0 $$ /D0 = 0.20 ± 0.04 stat . − 0.07 + 0.08 $$ {\left(\mathrm{stat}.\right)}_{-0.07}^{+0.08} $$ (syst.). These results provide an additional indication of a modification of the charm fragmentation from e+e − and e − p collisions to pp collisions.

Two-particle Azimuthal correlations are measured with the ALICE apparatus in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 13$$ s = 13 TeV to explore strangeness- and multiplicity-related effects in the fragmentation of jets and the transition regime between bulk and hard production, probed with the condition that a strange meson ( $$\mathrm {K_S}^{0}$$ K S 0 ) or baryon ( $$\Lambda $$ Λ ) with transverse momentum $$p_{\mathrm T} >3$$ p T > 3 GeV/ $$c$$ c is produced. Azimuthal correlations between kaons or $$\Lambda $$ Λ hyperons with other hadrons are presented at midrapidity for a broad range of the trigger ( $$3< p_\mathrm {T}^\mathrm {trigg} < 20$$ 3 < p T trigg < 20 GeV/ $$c$$ c ) and associated particle $$p_{\mathrm T}$$ p T (1 GeV/ $$c$$ c $$< p_\mathrm {T}^\mathrm {assoc} < p_\mathrm {T}^\mathrm {trigg} $$ < p T assoc < p T trigg ), for minimum-bias events and as a function of the event multiplicity. The near- and away-side peak yields are compared for the case of either $$\mathrm {K_S}^{0}$$ K S 0 or $$\Lambda $$ Λ ( $${\overline{\Lambda }}$$ Λ ¯ ) being the trigger particle with that of inclusive hadrons (a sample dominated by pions). In addition, the measurements are compared with predictions from PYTHIA 8 and EPOS LHC event generators.

To evaluate the safety of the domestic 13-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine-tetanus toxoid protein (PCV13-TT) after its licensure. The adverse event following immunization (AEFI) and the vaccination data of PCV13-TT in Zhejiang province from July 2020 to October 2021 were collected from national adverse event following immunization surveillance system and Zhejiang provincial immunization information system. Descriptive epidemiological method was used for this analysis. From July 2020 to October 2021, 302 317 doses of PCV13-TT were administered in children under 6 years old in Zhejiang Province and 636 AEFI case reports were received, with a reporting rate of 21.04 per 10 000 doses. Of these AEFI cases, 97.17% were mild vaccine product-related reaction (20.54 per 10 000 doses) and 95.44% occurred in the 0-1 d after vaccination (20.08 per 10 000 doses). The most common clinical diagnoses of AEFI included fever (224 cases), redness (204 cases), and induration (190 cases), while allergic rash (11 cases) was the most common diagnosis among the abnormal reactions. In conclusion,the present results bolstered that the domestic PCV13-TT was generally well tolerated in children under 6 years old in Zhejiang Province.评价国产13价肺炎球菌多糖结合疫苗(PCV13-TT)上市后使用的安全性。采用横断面描述性研究方法,由浙江省疾病预防控制中心收集国家疑似预防接种异常反应(AEFI)信息管理系统中2020年7月至2021年10月期间浙江省PCV13-TT的AEFI报告数据;从浙江省疫苗管理和预防接种信息综合管理系统中统计同期PCV13-TT的接种数据。采用描述流行病学方法对PCV13-TT的AEFI报告发生情况进行描述性分析。结果显示,2020年7月至2021年10月期间,浙江省5岁及以下儿童中PCV13-TT共接种302 317剂次,报告AEFI共636例(报告发生率为21.04/万剂次),97.17%为一般反应(20.54/万剂次),95.44%发生在接种后0~1 d内(20.08/万剂次)。一般反应中最常见的为发热(224例)、局部红肿(204例)及硬结(190例),异常反应中报告最多的是过敏性皮疹(11例)。综上,浙江地区PCV13-TT上市后在5岁及以下儿童中接种具有较好的安全性。.
