The aim of this study is to characterise the determinants of the development of the silver economy in the field of care services provided in a residential form for dependent elderly persons in Poland. The analysis was carried out on the basis of statistical and financial background data, including those from the Ministry of Family and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, OECD, etc. Although the demand for care services will continue to grow in the coming years, the following barriers to the development of this segment of the silver economy can be identified: lack of employees, unattractiveness of monetary gratification, inefficient financing mechanisms, lack of public investment in the development of care facilities, and increasing costs of providing services in all forms.

Loneliness has recently been defined as a public health problem, and college students from various cultures are considered a vulnerable group. As college students must cope with new personal, social, and academic challenges, their perceptions regarding their entitlement from their environment, and their gratefulness for the assistance they receive, may make a unique contribution to their experience of loneliness. In the current study we examined the associations between loneliness, gratitude, and two types of entitlement (active and academic) among college students in two countries: Israel and Poland. A total of 313 Israeli students and 275 Polish students completed a series of questionnaires. The results indicated that Israeli students experienced lower levels of loneliness and academic entitlement, and higher levels of active entitlement and gratitude, in comparison to Polish students. The two types of entitlement and gratitude mediated the association between students' country and loneliness. Active entitlement predicted more gratitude, which predicted lower levels of loneliness. However, academic entitlement predicted lower levels of gratitude, which predicted more loneliness. Our focus on entitlement, gratitude, and loneliness offers insights into the understanding of the psychological and social dynamics among college students in two countries, with implications for theoretical understanding and intervention planning in higher education. Due to an ageing population, local governments are facing new challenges in the field of addressing the housing needs of older people. Seniors are not a homogeneous group; three basic categories may be distinguished in terms of independence level and the resulting needs. The first category would include independent people, the second one - the elderly with limited independence, and in this case it is necessary to adapt their dwellings to the needs of people with partial disabilities, e.g. dedicated housing. The last category is comprised of people with considerable dependence for whom there is a need to create special dwellings such as sheltered housing or assisted living housing. The aim of this paper is to diagnose the housing preferences of the elderly and to explore the solutions of the selected municipalities in the field of addressing the housing needs of seniors. The issue is analyzed based on desk research and information collected within field research in the Warsaw, Poznań and Szczecin urban areas.

The aim of the study was to identify the factors that influence situating the students in the Comfort-Stretch-Panic (CSP) zones in the perspective of transition from remote to direct education. The study uses an original tool adapted upon the CSP concept. The presented data was obtained in 2021, from a representative sample of 1125 students. Thus, obtained data allowed to determine the factors of willingness of the primary school students to return to direct education. The research hypotheses were verified using a multinomial logit model. The study shows that the students' readiness depends on factors such as: gender and age, active participation in the online educational process, difficulties related to the process and relationships at school, as well as the family and school support potential. The significant influence caused by the students' personal problems and psychophysical condition on their potential return to direct education was not observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article examines that the experience of the family home has an essential meaning for the individual development and influences the course of a person's life. Topics include considered the relationship a child has with their parents, who are their primary and most important caregivers is considered a special one.

Population aging poses challenges to societies with regard to the provision of care for dependent seniors. One of the spheres broadly discussed in terms of long-term care is housing policy. The focus of this article is the analysis of housing policy in Poland, with respect to demographical changes, and the ever increasing burden aging causes (i.e., problems with seniors' ability to perform self-care and age in place). The analysis was based on the existing data and the sizable transdisciplinary body of international comparative housing policy literature. The effectiveness of housing policy in the context of care services depends on its integration with the social assistance and health care system and the size of the housing stock, along with the family's caring potential.
