Geochemical and lithological investigations in the WON C-3X well record five organic-matter-rich intervals (OMRIs) of effective source rocks. These OMRIs correspond to moderate and good potentials. Two of these intervals occurred within the L-Kharita member of the Albian age represent 60.97% of the entire Albian thickness. The rest of OMRIs belongs to the Abu-Roash G and F members of the Late Cenomanian–Santonian age comprising 17.52 and 78.66% of their total thickness, respectively. The calculated heat flow of the studied basin is high within the range of 90.1–95.55 mW/m2 from shallower Abu-Roash F to deeper L-Kharita members. This high-heat flow is efficient for shallowing in the maximum threshold expulsion depth in the studied well to 2,000 m and active source rock depth limit to 2,750 m. Thermal maturity and burial history show that the source rock of L-Kharita entered the oil generation from 97 Ma till the late oil stage of 7.5 Ma, whereas the younger Abu-Roash G and F members have entered oil generation since 56 Ma and not reached peak oil yet. Hence, the source rock intervals from Abu-Roash F and G are promising for adequate oil generation.

Background Copper oxide (Cu2O) nanoparticles (CO NPs) are in extensive use during our everyday life as antimicrobial agent, lubricant, in manufacturing electrodes of lithium ion batteries as well as for photo catalytic degradation of organic pollutants. Due to extensive and diverse use Cu2O NPs, they are likely to accumulate in the environment and to affect the live forms. Present investigation was aimed to report the biocompatibility of CO NPs in Wistar rats in sex specific manner. CO NPs, having average diameter of 14.06 nm, were synthesized by co-precipitation method and scanning electron microscopy and X ray diffraction were used for their characterization. Methods For 14 consecutive days, Wistar rats (6 weeks old) of both sexes were intraperitoneally injected with 10 mg/mL saline/Kg body weight of CO NPs, while the control groups intraperitoneally received saline solution for same duration. Behavioral tests (open field and novel object recognition), complete blood count, selected biomarkers of oxidative stress and Copper concentration in brain and liver were determined in all subjects. Results High mortality rates [male 40% and female 60%] were observed in rats exposed to CO NPs. A sever decrease in body weight was also observed in both male and female rats exposed to CO NPs. Female rats treated with CO NPs spent significantly more time with novel object as compared to control [ P  = 0.05] during second trial of novel object test. CO NPs treated female rats had higher mean corpuscular hemoglobin [ P  < 0.001] levels and Copper concentration in liver [ P  = 0.04] than control. Male rats exposed to CO NPs had significantly higher mean corpuscular volume [ P  = 0.02] and superoxide dismutase [SOD] [ P  = 0.04] in lungs than their control group. All other studied parameters non significantly varied upon comparison between CO NPs treated and untreated rats of both sex. Conclusion In conclusion, we are reporting that intraperitoneal injections of CO NPs for 14 days can disturb complete blood count and biomarkers of oxidative stress in lungs of Wistar rats. This study was planned to explore the AFM1‐reducing potential of various heat and acid‐killed lactic acid bacteria (LAB), activated carbon and bentonite (BENT) in milk contaminated with 0.5 μg/L AFM1 and their impact on milk composition. A negligible impact was observed on milk composition with AC while exhibiting a higher AFM1 removal (78.2%) than bentonite (35.8%). Their combination with LAB cells increased AFM1 decontamination for most of the treatments, with highest AFM1 removal (97.6%) exhibited by a treatment involving 0.1% AC and acid‐killed cells of L. cremoris. The results of this study indicate that LAB cells associated with the adsorbents tested are highly effective in reducing milk AFM1 content. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As the world's main oil and gas resource, the deep carbonate reservoir has great exploration-development potential. However, it is difficult to make development and exploration due to its complex diagenesis processes. During the formation of carbonate reservoirs, the effect of meteoric water forms karst holes for oil and gas reservoirs, but the complex internal mechanism severely restricts the exploration and development of carbonate reservoirs. This paper takes the deep carbonate reservoirs in the Tarim Basin as the research object, studies the diagenesis processes in deep carbonate reservoirs through geological survey, analyzes the effect of meteoric water on porosity and mineral changes in carbonate reservoirs at different diagenetic stages by using laboratory test, theoretical analysis, and numerical simulation research methods. The numerical simulation method is used to simulate the porosity changes and mineral evolution of reservoirs in different diagenetic stages, and the conclusion is drawn that meteoric water has an impact on reservoir minerals and porosity. The results show that the carbonate reservoirs in the Tarim Basin have high porosity and good permeability, and the reservoirs have experienced deposition, compaction, dissolution, and hydrothermal stages, and have experienced meteoric water effects for a long time, resulting in rock dissolution, regenerative precipitation and chemical reaction; Quartz and feldspar minerals are the most in the sample through laboratory tests, the content of quartz decreased first, then increased and decreased, and the content of chlorite and mica changed little during the whole diagenesis processes. With the injection of organic acid, the porosity of the reservoir increases, with the continuous increase of temperature and pressure, the porosity decreases. After the second injection of organic acid, the porosity increases continuously, and finally, the porosity decreases. TOUGHREACT is used to simulate the static reaction of water and rock, simulating six diagenetic stages. With the injection of organic acid, the porosity increases continuously and then reaches equilibrium. The sudden increase in temperature and pressure leads to an increase in porosity, and the porosity of the reservoir changes little during the second injection of organic acid, and the porosity decreases in the final stage. The research results provide theoretical data support for guiding oil and gas exploration in deep carbonate reservoirs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
