Purpose: This article aims to provide the overview of the big impact of productive waqf in developing and equalizing the quality of education. Especially, the education in the isolated area, rural area, in which numerous poor societies live. Waqf is a social instrument in Islam which has played a major role in advancing Islamic Civilization since ancient times. Design/methodology/approach: the method for conducting this research uses literature-based analysis and secondary data to develop a theoretical framework. Findings: The results of this journal article show that the strength and function of waqf can be an alternative solution to equalize the quality of education. Through professional management, models and nadzir. Research limitations/implications: This research shows that the inequality in education quality can be resolved with a productive waqf approach. Practical implications: Practical implications: the researcher hopes that this research can become a reference for NGOs, communities and the government in optimizing productive waqf to improve the quality of education. Originality/value: Empowerment and management of productive waqf can have an impact on improving quality education services in rural areas by implementing a program to send quality teachers to Rural areas of Indonesia funded by productive waqf.
