7. Gradient heatmetry and PIV combination in the study of flow in an oval-trench dimple

Abstract

An experimental convective heat transfer study is carried out to explore if the local heat transfer coefficient into an oval-trench dimple can outnumber to the well-known heat transfer on the smooth surface. Bismuth-based gradient heat flux sensors were used on a single oval-trench dimple mounted the surface. The experiments were performed in a wind tunnel in the Reynolds number range from 5·103 to 3·104. The option is considered when the angle of inclination the dimple’ longitudinal axis to the free-stream velocity vector is 45°, and the relative depth is 0.25. Under experimental conditions, a constant temperature Tw is maintained on the heat transfer surface. The distributions of the local heat transfer coefficient are obtained. For characteristic transverse cross-section, the double increase in heat transfer in compared to the smooth surface. The heat transfer enhancement’ mechanism associated with the separated flow and vortex formation in the dimple is discussed.

Abstract

In modern science, the study of digitalization and digital transformation in spatial socio-economic systems, among which urban and regional agglomerations are the most complex ones, plays a special role. The paper considers scientific publications devoted to the problems of smart city development. Russian practices of smart city development are investigated in comparison with the world leaders in urban space digitalization. Based on the analysis of the achieved level of digital transformation of urban space and development of “smart city” technologies in the cities-leaders in the development of “smart” technologies in the subjects of the Russian Federation in 2021, the issue of scaling promising technologies and successful practices from urban to the level of regional space is being considered. The prospects of integrating the smart city as a point of digital development of regional space into the system of inter-regional interactions of digital regions are disclosed.

14. Analysis Of the Behavior of Cyberattacks on Online Services Using the Cyber Threat Classification

Abstract

The paper contains a study of the dynamics of attacks on online services using the categorization of cyber threats by type in the corporate network of the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The study was conducted using online service logs and allows solving pressing issues related to ensuring the built-in security of web services, such as: identifying both current and future cybersecurity risks. A summary of the most important logging and analysis techniques is provided. The authors describe the nature and content of the data sources and the software used. The extensive observation period of the study is one of its outstanding features. The structure of the processing system is provided and software tools for attack analysis and categorization are created. The paper shows that using categorized sampling allows for the detection of periodicity and the identification of patterns in specific types of attacks. A correlation matrix was created based on the type of attack. Except for Command Injection, Directory Browsing, and Java Code Injection attacks, which can be aggregated, the research found that most attack types had poor correlation. Based on the classification of cyber threats, the authors proposed a heuristic technique of risk comparison.

Abstract

Translation of the book “Here we stand. Who are the Lutherans?” by Hermann Sasse appeared twenty years ago and was thought, as follows from its title, to clarify the features of confessional identity for Russian Lutherans. However, the author argues that the title is absolutely misleading and can cause perplexity of a neophyte reader. The translation made by K. Komarov was highly inaccurate and fool of annoying errors and misspellings, while the interpreter itself as well as the editor demonstrated complete ignorance of historical and theological realities. H. Sasse’s book appeared immediately after Nazis coming to power and their attempts to create a unified Protestant church under their leadership. Among Nazis opponents were many Christian denominations — Catholics, Lutherans and Calvinists. H. Sasse himself found a middle path lashing both Nazis and Christian-antifascists. This allowed him to speak out openly on issues of the Church conversions, keeping loyalty to the regime and pursuing a career of lecturer. Thus, reading this book without understanding the context of its creation, which is partially reflected in the review, can hardly contribute to the understanding of the features of the Lutheran beliefs. The author gives the brief amount of the historical background and analyses some errors, made by translators.

Abstract

We have created a simulation stand on the basis of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The stand includes measuring devices, switching environment and a cluster for data storage and analysis. The stand is designed for the applied study and student education in Information and Computer Networks and Intellectual Systems. The stand's architecture demonstrates basic functional levels of the IoT. The data generated by the IoT devices is placed in a storage for practical study of the modern methods of intellectual analysis of the large amounts of data. Presently, we are working on creation of a transport environment and provision of an inter-level interaction of the devices and applications. The stand's structure includes servers with different security settings' configurations, allowing to observe network anomalies in the devices' access. Analysis of the gathered network traffic demonstrates configuration features of the security policy and telecommunication nodes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The problems of creation of an automated system for obtaining, processing and storing experimental information on the physical and mechanical properties of structural materials, building materials and various soil media used to provide information support for automated computing systems for analysis of strength and design of structures are discussed. The developed database is focused on studying the effects of the behavior of structural materials under highly parametric influences of force, temperature and other physical fields, as well as on equipping and experimental substantiation of mathematical models describing these effects. In the proposed variant, the database is implemented as a client-server application executed on the Microsoft.Net Framework using a powerful database management system MS SQL Server. The content of the created bank is made up of sections of primary information, material properties and material models. In order to automate the processing of data at all stages of information conversion, a special “Desktop” subsystem is included in the bank, which allows aggregating data obtained from several different experiments, correcting the selected data, processing and converting it. Processing and transformation of data in the subsystem “Desktop” can be carried out either in manual mode or on the basis of special algorithms using appropriate mathematical methods.

Abstract

The defaecation motor program in nematodes is controlled by the intestinal central pattern generator, coupled with propagating calcium waves and electrical membrane potential oscillations. Recent electrophysiological experiments in Heterorhabditis megidis have indicated that the intestinal cells of nematodes produce unusual all-or-none hyperpolarisation ‘action potential’ (HAP). HAP resembles the action potential generation in regular excitable tissues, neurons and myocytes, having the reversed polarity of current and voltage. It can be considered that rhythmic electrical potential generation in the intestinal cells is based on the cooperation of voltage-gated ion channels. Here we combined our electrophysiological study with molecular-genetics of the nematode intestine and recent single-cell RNA-seq open-access data of Caenorhabditis elegans. Single-cell RNA-seq data confirm the unique spectrum of the ion channel expression in the gut cells, which is highly distinct from other nematode tissues. We have compared electrophysiological data with the channel expression data from nematode tissues implementing regular action potential and HAP to find ion channel candidates that can fit HAP model.
