The research question addressed in this study is to analyze the evolution of software quality models, and to investigate the similarities between the most known quality models. The models are decomposed according to their inherent structure, then are analyzed based on their subcharacteristics, at several levels. The focus of the study is on the lexical analysis of software quality models based on natural language processing, with the purpose to highlight the similarities in software quality models. In the end, the current software quality model ISO25010 is compared with all previous ones.

The paper introduces an approach for scalable data management in the context of Big Data. The main objective of the study is to design and implement a metadata model and a data catalog solution based on emerging Big Data technologies. The solution is scalable and integrates the following components: (1) the data sources; (2) a file scanner; (3) the metadata storage and processing component; and (4) a visualization component. The approach and its underlying metadata model are demonstrated with a toy use case from the medical domain, and can be easily adapted and extended to other use cases and requirements.

This paper aims to analyze and identify the variations and similarities between models/standards in the software quality domain. The approach combines analysis at several levels, starting with a naive comparison done by the software quality expert, going through several NLP specific similarities measures. The final goal is to be able to rapidly identify solutions to make a software compliant with new standard. The focus of the current study is on the lexical analysis of software quality models based on natural language processing.

The paper presents a brief technology survey of existing tools to implement data ingestion pipelines in a classical Data Science project. Given the emergent nature of technologies and the challenges associated with any Big Data project, we propose to identify and discuss the main components of a data pipeline, from a data engineering perspective. The data pipeline is showcased with a case study from an ICT university project, where several teams of master students competed towards designing and implementing the best solution for a manufacturing data pipeline. The project proposes a research-based multidisciplinary approach to education, aiming at empowering students with a novel role in the process of learning, that of knowledge creators. Therefore, on the one hand, the paper discusses the main components of a Big Data pipeline and on the other hand it shows how these components are addressed and implemented within a concrete ICT project from education, realized in tight relation with the IT industry.

This paper presents an approach and its corresponding application to monitor the air quality from a city, to collect air quality data and use it to provide information to the public. This study focuses on detecting the small particulate matter (PM 2.5) in the air and it considers two approaches in order to determine the air pollution levels: the users’ opinion and a technical sensor.

The purpose of this paper is to realize a comparative analysis of relational and non-relational database management systems. Both conceptual and technical characteristics are introduced, presenting the benefits and disadvantages of each model, using a hybrid application. The application, named SuperstoreSalesReporting, generates comparative reports which describe the technical characteristics of both SQL and NoSQL databases based on the executed operations. The application constitutes the contribution of this study, together with the creation of the SQL Server internal processes for migrating data from a flat file into a star schema.

The paper proposes an ongoing application and its corresponding use cases for managing user preferences and resource consumption (electric energy, gas, water) in a smart home. The application brings innovation both at front end and back end levels, via intuitive computer-human interaction and ontology-based user modeling, aiming to (1) provide an easy to use graphical user interface in order to assist residential users in managing their resources in a smart home setting; (2) collect resource consumption data and perform analysis on these data for prediction of future consumption rates and costs; (3) make recommendations for the resource management in a smart home; and (4) provide statistics regarding resource consumption management. The concept will be validated with families of residential users from the city of Cluj-Napoca.

The workshops covers data systems and Web semantics, distributed objects, Web services, databases, information systems, enterprise work flow and collaboration, ubiquity, interoperability, mobility, grid and high-performance computing.

The paper aims to define a novel methodology to evaluate the quality of software systems. The methodology is applying the following steps: evaluate object oriented metrics, select quality category, and evaluate quality category. The approach to software quality evaluation is based on an ontology that was defined for the ISO25010 standard. The quality evaluation is enhanced by taking into consideration several object-oriented (OO) metrics and including them into the ontology. A case study is presented regarding the impact of OO metrics on the reliability category. The paper presents preliminary results on the methodology and concludes on the benefits of using an ontology to derive new facts in the context of software quality assessment.

The 55 full papers presented together with 3 short papers and 2 popsters were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 100 submissions. The workshops share the distributed aspects of modern computing systems, they experience the application pull created by the Internet and by the so-called Semantic Web, in particular developments of Big Data, increased importance of security issues, and the globalization of mobile-based technologies.

The paper proposes a collaborative and ontology-based approach for knowledge engineering adapted to e-Society applications. The approach aims to provide intuitive user-system and user-content interaction via processing and visualization of Big Data and the resulting information. Moreover, the approach ensures secured access to personal data via semantic interoperability of security policies. The approach considers large size structured and unstructured contents such as multimedia content (videos, images), web content, video games, sensor data, medical health records, medical databases, etc. We will showcase the concept with an (ongoing) medical decision support system (DS-Med) targeted at real end users and real-world test data from around the city of Cluj-Napoca.

The CAD domain today reflects the actual technological and scientific evolution. We are currently witnessing a universalization of the design techniques, which are often based on the same algorithms, in domains ranging from industry to medicine. This multidisciplinary aspect induces different views on the design. The design is no longer done by engineers but by a very heterogeneous public, and results in the use of different interaction techniques. In order to fit to this diversity, the CAD systems should assist the user with adapted modelling tools. An approach in this direction is to integrate trade-based knowledge with the deformations. The designer has thus he possibility to concentrate on his/her trade rather than on the geometric model, leaving to the system the task of transmitting the trade parameters to the model. The present study has been realised within the DIJA project with the purpose of creating a trade-oriented surface deformation modeller, not only by using the underlying geometric model, as it was realised until present, but by taking into account a surface triangulation as fine as needed. This study also demonstrates the refinement of the trade-based parameters into geometric parameters and the user-system interaction at different levels of the system's architecture, depending on the user's competencies., L'évolution technologique et scientifique à l'heure actuelle se répercute, en tout ou en partie, sur le domaine de la CAO. On assiste à une universalisation des techniques de conception, qui se basent souvent sur les mêmes algorithmes, que ce soit pour l'industrie aéronautique, pour la médecine ou pour d'autres domaines. Cette pluridisciplinarité naît des différentes vues de la conception, qui ne se fait plus seulement par des ingénieurs, mais par un public très varié, et qui entraîne, à son tour, des différentes techniques d'interaction. Pour répondre à cette diversité, les systèmes de CAO devraient assister l'utilisateur par des outils de modélisation adaptés. Une approche dans ce sens serait d'intégrer les déformations avec des contraintes métier. Ainsi, le concepteur pourrait se concentrer sur son métier plutôt que sur le modèle géométrique, laissant au système la tache du passage des paramètres métier aux paramètres géométriques, applicables au modèle. L'étude présente se place dans le contexte du projet DIJA, avec le but de créer un modeleur de déformation de surfaces avec un comportement métier bien précis, non pas en utilisant le modèle géométrique sous-jacent, tel que réalisé jusqu'à présent, mais en prenant en compte une triangulation de la surface aussi fine que nécessaire. L'étude permet de démontrer également le passage des paramètres métier aux paramètres géométriques et l'interaction avec l'utilisateur des différents niveaux de l'architecture du système, selon ses compétences.
