It is a priority to build theories that allow to explain and describe the phenomena of interest to any discipline, however, theorizing supposes an effort for the researcher, due to the complexity of the methods and the constant need for renewal in the research phenomena. The Grounded Theory is a qualitative research method which allows generating theoretical approaches that can be used to strengthen the conceptual basis of professional disciplines such as Nursing. This article describes strategies for collecting information in qualitative research, organizing the data to facilitate the researcher's understanding of the process the participant has experienced, and then, through an example, explains how, using the words of the participant or living codes, the analysis of the data is carried out with the coding proposal of Strauss, A. and Corbin, J, until arriving at the construction of the theory based on the data. Sexual and gender minorities have a long history of discrimination and abuse within research, with practices such as involuntary castration, hormone injections, behavioral therapies, shock treatments, and institutionalization. This discrimination and abuse reveal the need to understand the ethical safeguards involved when conducting research that includes this population. This article aims to identify the ethical considerations that must be considered when developing research involving sexual and gender minorities. Methods. An integrative review was conducted by searching the PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus databases, resulting in 258 fulllength articles. From these, 14 articles were selected based on specific inclusion criteria: articles published in Spanish or English between 2017 and June 2022 that addressed ethical aspects in research involving sexual and gender minorities. Exclusion criteria included letters to the editor, editorials, book chapters, theses, conferences, and essays. Results. The considerations were grouped into research preparation and ethics committee approval, data collection, analysis and presentation of results, and considerations regarding transgender authors and academics. Discussion. The scientific community acknowledges the importance of recognizing the vulnerability of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other gender identity and sexual-oriented populations. This recognition is crucial for supporting research that adequately addresses their unique characteristics and needs. Conclusion. The importance of acknowledging the population of sexual and gender minorities is emphasized, along with the use of representative samples, ensuring anonymity, and employing inclusive language. Keywords: Sexual and Gender Minorities; Ethics; Research; Nursing Research; Vulnerable Populations RESUMO Introdução. Introduction: The lack of discussions on nursing care for pregnant women with sickle cell disease in Brazil and the urgent need for intervention and improvements in the nursing care provided to these women sparked this study. In addition, validity is an essential attribute for instruments used in research and/or clinical practice. Objective: To develop and validate an instrument covering the care of pregnant women with sickle cell disease. Materials and methods: This is a methodological, content validation study conducted with specialist judges. The instrument was structured with 19 nursing diagnoses that addressed the biological, psychological, and social dimensions, as well as 126 nursing interventions. The Delphi technique was used with the participation of 18 judges. The results were analyzed using the content validity index and a level of agreement above 0.80. Results: Of the 145 items analyzed, 22 (15.17 %) scored a content validity index < 0.80, and the adjustments suggested by the judges were implemented. The instrument's general content validity index was calculated at 0.87. The instrument reached acceptable content validity parameters, according to the criteria used. Conclusions: The instrument's potential stands out, and it can be improved through its use as a resource for guiding nursing practices directed to pregnant women with sickle cell disease, both in primary health care and in hospital networks. Introduction: The implementation of Evidenced-Based Nursing (EBN) is characterized by multiple benefits, for the patients and the nurses. However, the implementation is difficult for different reasons. Objectives: To evaluate the daily use of the EBN, the attitude towards EBN and the skills and knowledge of nurses to apply EBN in the selected health centers and also, to explore the self-perceived factors that may hinder the implementation of EBN at work and the possible measures to improve it by the nurses that work in PC. Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive, multicenter and mixed concurrent triangulation strategy research, compose of a validated questionnaire and two open questions. Results: 65 nurses participated, mostly women, of whom 50,8% have received EBN's formation. The punctuation of the different parts of the questionnaire are: 27,02 (x) in the EBN's daily use, 18 (m) in the attitude and 44,15 (x) in the EBN's skills and knowledge. Some factors self-perceived that difficult the EBN's implementation are the lack of formation and time and the job insecurity and there are some measures suggested for palliate it such as: formation, recruitment and teamwork. Conclusions: The participants show a favorable attitude towards EBN, but daily use and skills and knowledge are moderate, observing a relationship between training in EBN and nursing specialization with greater skills and knowledge in EBN. There is a need to carry out studies with a greater impact for a more complete evaluation and implementation of the appropriate strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Collaboration between different health professionals is essential to ensure safe and quality prenatal care and favorable birth outcomes. Objective: To describe interprofessional prenatal care and management strategies in the context of primary health care. Materials and method: Qualitative research conducted between August and December 2022. Data was collected using an instrument to analyze the content of infographics produced by 26 professionals working in primary health care in southern Brazil, as an evaluation activity for a qualification course. The content of the infographics was analyzed using the coding process proposed by Minayo. Results: The data analyzed enabled three thematic categories to be identified: "The necessary intersectoral and interprofessional coordination;" "Responsibilities built and shared between pregnant women and professionals;" "Planning and qualification of workflows and processes." Conclusions: Interprofessional prenatal care and management strategies in the context of primary health care are associated with overcoming fragmented and dichotomous approaches, as well as the prospect of more participatory, dialogic, and interactive prenatal care and management processes, with the inclusion of various health actors. Qualitative research allows carrying out studies taking into account contexts and circumstances where the research is inserted. In order to respond to what is proposed by qualitative research, it is necessary that the chosen analysis method encourages intersubjectivity to be registered. In this way, one of the means chosen for this purpose is through the use of Alfred Schutz's phenomenology. This study aims to reflect the phenomenology proposed by Alfred Schutz and its application in the field of health and nursing research. This is a theoretical-reflective study, built during the curricular component "Methodology of Qualitative Studies" of the Graduate Program in Health and Society, at the State University of Rio Grande do Norte. The critical and systematic research method of phenomenology has gained recognition as an approach to qualitative research, applicable to the study of important phenomena in various fields, including health/nursing, since it constitutes an alternative research that contributes to a look effective on experiences related to the health-disease process of human beings and, mainly, those experienced in different care and health care settings, such as nursing care, HIV/AIDS, Mental Health, violence, among others. Finally, it is necessary to deepen theories, such as phenomenology, for the development of qualitative research with greater robustness and methodological quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Spiritual care can be considered a basic component of the philosophy of holistic care. Objective: Identify intervention studies with educational perspectives and strategies for developing spiritual care competencies in nurses and nursing students. Materials and methods: Integrative review of literature conducted in the period 2001-2021, in the databases PubMed, ProQuest, Scopus, LILACS, and VHL (Virtual Health Library). PRISMA statement guidelines were followed for the review, and it was based on Whittemore and Knafl's stages for integrative reviews: problem formulation, literature search, evaluation of data, data analysis, and presentation of results. Results: Ten published intervention articles were found. Education for the development of spiritual care competencies has been provided by educational programs and activities in undergraduate nursing programs and with professional nurses in practice. Instructional strategies include specific courses, short sessions, or programs throughout the curriculum. Interventions have an impact on skills and knowledge. Students' individual spirituality is a predictor of the competence to provide spiritual care. Conclusions: There is evidence of strategies to develop spiritual care competencies in nursing students and professionals, but publications on the subject are scarce. Therefore, implementing new and more rigorous strategies that allow the development of competencies for approaching spirituality in nursing is required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Background: Imogene King's theory of goal attainment has proven to be useful for nursing development, however, its use is limited, which highlights the need to critically analyze its contribution to the discipline. Objective: To critically analyze Imogene King's goal attainment theory, as proposed methodologically by Chinn and Kramer. Main topics under analysis: An analysis was carried out according to the criteria for theoretical reflection proposed by Chinn and Kramer, which consists of two phases: 1) description of the theory, considering the purpose, concepts and definitions, relationships, structure, and assumptions; and 2) critical reflection, including clarity, simplicity, generality, accessibility, and importance. Conclusion: The theory is clear, simple, generalizable, accessible, and important for professional practice. However, it has limitations in its scope with patients who are unable to interact, and it is not parsimonious due to the incorporation of many concepts. More empirical evidence is required to demonstrate its use in practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Background: Predatory journals are pseudoscientific journals that charge to publish with non-existent double-blind peer review and editor's review, corrections, and indexing of questionable quality. Such journals threaten the scientific landscape. Reflecting on their impact through Aristotle's ethics and science conceptual frameworks helps to explore integrity in nursing research. Objective: To reflect about predatory publications in the production of knowledge of the nurse researchers. Main topics under analysis: This is a reflective analysis after a seven-step literature review. The analysis linked the topics of academic productivism and predatory journals with concepts such as intemperance, desire, intuitive reason and practical wisdom expressed by Aristotle in his book "From Ethics to Nicomachean". These were discussed as a deformity of the concepts of true knowledge and middle ground. Conclusion: Practical wisdom can be a valuable path for good deliberation that guides integrity. It does not represent scientific knowledge itself but rather operates on it and the results of research and their dissemination in reliable journals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
