The intellectio has had an uncertain role in the Rhetorical System, being absent from the Rhetorica recepta but being, for other authors, claimed as a sixth rhetorical operation. This paper provides a new conceptualisation of intellectio which allows us to explain this contradiction and introduces the concept of teleological text which answers the question of its place and function in the Rhetorical System. The implementation of this model, through an empirical study with 245 participants, has highlighted the need for intellectio among rhetorical operations and its fundamental noetic-teleological function of initiating the process leading to the rhetorical text, of evaluating the adequacy and persuasiveness of the resulting discourse as well as its characteristics in the passage from téckne to práxis. The conclusion of this theoretical and empirical study is that without intellectio there is no inventio that has the guarantees for the elaboration of an effective rhetorical discourse. El objetivo de nuestro estudio es examinar la funcionalidad de cada inscripción, atendiendo además a sus particularidades gráficas.

У цій статті розглянуто іспанську авторську газетну колонку у ключі базових понять класичної риторики як міждисциплінарної науки, яка на сучасному етапі дозволяє поєднувати "лінгвістику виразності" з розглядом мовного матеріалу у світлі комунікативно-дискурсивної парадигми. Авторська колонка є прикладом "журналістики думок", де тематичне різнобарв’я, стилістична оригінальність, мовна креативність зумовлена постаттю журналіста з його думками, ідеями, позиціями і кінцевою ціллю, яка визначає характер відбору риторичних стратегій, аргументів, композиційної організації з тим, щоб вплинути на сприйняття читача і створити дискурс переконливості. Цього разу ілюстративним матеріалом послугували короткі колонки Мануеля Вісента, відомого сучасного іспанського письменника і багаторічного журналіста "El País". Виявлено, що при продукуванні аналітичного тексту відбувається взаємопроникнення наміру, аргументів inventio, порядку викладення матеріалів dispositio за допомогою відповідних дискурсивно-експресивних засобів еlocutio. Подібно до неможливості відмежувати ці три риторичні операції як суто послідовні у лінійному творчому процесі, так само res і verba не є абсолютно роз’єднаними поняттями, їх можливо варіативно комбінувати, оскільки дискурс вибудовується за координатами інтегрування у гетерогенну, неоднорідну мережу текстів, де площини res і verba часто сплітаються в одну, спільну мовну тканину. Саме такого характеру публікацій вимагає сучасний вибагливий читач, який вже не є "пасивним отримувачем" інформації. Журналіст має апелювати до його розуму, емоцій, почуттів, пам’яті, щоб "здивувати" його, а значить еlocutio виходить за межі простої "окраси" мовлення, і повертає нас до слова, процесу їх логічного, контекстуального відбору, поєднання, злиття у контексті для створення у своїй композиційній цілісності сили, дієвості й переконливості статті.

A partire dal corpus del progetto Italmatica. Comprendere la matematica a scuola, fra lingua comune e linguaggio specialistico del Fondo nazionale svizzero, viene presentata un’analisi di esempi tratti dai libri di testo di geometria in lingua italiana della scuola primaria e secondaria di primo grado. L’analisi si basa sull’applicazione delle categorie di tipo retorico classico: inventio, dispositio ed elocutio, oggi afferenti ai domini degli studi linguistici, in particolare delle teorie dell’argomentazione. Attraverso l’analisi condotta, vengono evidenziate da un lato la profondità delle riflessioni che queste lenti teoriche consentono di raggiungere nello sviscerare un testo argomentativo di matematica, dall’altro la grande varietà di scelte possibili adottate dai libri di testo, che possono avere un effetto comunicativo sul lettore-studente.

Thomas More's Utopia presents several rhetorical architectures which can be traced back, more or less coherently, to the models of the ancient rhetoric, in particular to those of Aristotle, Cicero and Quintilian. One of the fundamental aims that guided ancient rhetoric, persuasion, emerges in a decisive way, in particular. If the reader is not presented with a philosophical treatise, but a composition which claims, through a story, to modify some political and philosophical opinions, or to question the legitimacy of others, this happens through a careful recovery of rhetorical tools and of that aspect of the ancient ars rhetorica consisting in the inventio. Both the parts of the text are in fact entirely drawn by the author's imagination, although he takes care to link his material to likely contents of reality. Precisely through the use of the inventio, Utopia seems to be able to inscribe itself, in this way, in the ancient protreptic model, placing it in the new conditions of humanism of the Sixteenth Century. However, the instrumental use of rhetoric seems to contradict its programmatic refusal by More, justified by the need to guarantee an access to the truth which, just as happened in the Platonic model, must expunge figures other than those of philosophy as much as possible. The analysis of the relationship between utopia and rhetoric allows us, in this way, to approach some of the historically detectable contradictions of the utopian genre, between the use of literary matter and philosophical loyalty, or between a truthful concept and its communication through figures of pure invention, between persuasion and conversion. Finally, this analysis allows us to understand the utopian tale as a "compromise formation" between repressed instances and linguistic codes, thus revealing the forms by which the ultimate goal of Utopia is determined: a utopian conversion. L’articolo intende partire dal concetto di automatismo insito nel luogo comune, inteso nella sua accezione più ampia, per enucleare alcuni punti fondamentali della riflessione di Jean Paulhan, direttore della NRF negli anni centrali del Novecento, anche alla luce del contributo di Henri Meschonnic in relazione al proverbio in quanto atto linguistico caratterizzato da ri-enunciabilità. Le considerazioni sul ritmo che ne conseguono, già sfruttate dalle sperimentazioni linguistiche di Paulhan e da dadaisti e surrealisti, vanno nella direzione di riscoprire il côté intersoggettivo che, quale fonte nascosta alla base del luogo comune, permette anche di mettere in discussione e rivitalizzare i cliché stessi. Rielaborazione che funziona da specola nei confronti dei pregiudizi e degli automatismi nascosti nel linguaggio. Verranno così evidenziati i punti di contatto tra la fonte nascosta che sostanzia il luogo comune, il défigement operato da Robert Desnos e le tele di Edward Hopper.

En este artículo pretendemos recoger algunos de los parámetros ideológicos que llevaron a López Ferreiro a reconstruir la cripta de la catedral de Santiago haciendo uso del historicismo para legitimar los restos sagrados recuperados tras la segunda inventio, en un contexto de entusiasta actividad científica e historiográfica en el que se acentuó la polémica sobre la autenticidad de las reliquias del Apóstol. Además, este suceso se enmarca en las pretensiones del arzobispo Payá y Rico, abiertamente enfrentado con López Ferreiro y su cabildo. Nuestra reflexión recoge las fuentes y publicaciones creadas por el propio fabriquero, los documentos relativos a las obras consultados en el archivo de la catedral de Santiago, y un repaso de la bibliografía jacobea. Trataremos de demostrar que el diseño de cada elemento orquestado por el fabriquero persigue la identificación del objeto material con una idea cultural e histórica que evoca un poder y una religiosidad concreta basadas en los siglos I y XII.

This contribution argues that literary texts essentially operate with inventory-like elements. Especially traditional rhetoric means, such as catalogue and description, are crucial in this respect. They represent some kind of poetic inventories within stories, as can be seen from Homer onwards. 'Inventorious' elements are also main narrative strategies in medieval epic literature, which is shown by the catalogues of names and things in the Song of the Nibelungs, a medieval heroic epic in Middle High German (c. 1200 AD). These 'inventorious' elements provide an imaginative insight into cultural, social, and gender orders and practices, which can also be seen as the background of 'real' historical inventories. In this article we will make a theoretical proposal on narrative inventio's configuration, especially focused on audio-visual fiction. The reason we make this proposal is because the lack of coherence amongst scholars and researchers and due to the difficulty to find correct and concrete definitions about the concepts we work with. Our proposal will point the different aspects that configure the narrative inventio. After this theoretical proposal we will make a straightforward methodological proposal, based on the first: an analysis sheet that can be used on audio-visual fiction analysis. This paper analyzes the Cervantes’ use of the terms that designate the partes artis in classical rhetoric: inventio, dispositio, elocutio, memoria, actio. The rhetoric on this question was not exhausted, but together with the parts of the discourse, it constituted its nucleus and allows us to approach a not insignificant aspect of Cervantes literary thought. Our research can be defined as rather lexicographic, that is, it addresses the mention or silence regarding these words in context and their variations of meaning. The central articulation of the rhetoric in res y verba underlies the well-known Cervantine difference between the value of a story itself and the way of telling it from the Coloquio de dos perros or the Curioso impertinente, which demonstrates the rhetorical formation of the author, whose probable source should be Cipriano Suárez’s manual, De Arte rhetorica libri tres (1569). We examine what terms Cervantes mentions and why and discuss in which cases there are new meanings that depart from tradition. Cervantes uses two rhetorical terms of preference: invention (inventio) and elocution (elocutio). By invention he understands the ability to see both in what surrounds him and in the preceding textual tradition what can be converted into narration, what is the narratable: his sense departs, therefore, from the rhetorical and approaches the aesthetic. Elocution has to do rather with lexical selection, festive intention and appropriateness to the context. The dispositio Cervantes cites it much less, perhaps because he considers it a question of practice rather than theory. Related problem is that of the part that corresponds to rhetoric and the part of poetics in relation to this terminology: that provides the terms, the general conception is a matter of poetics, and in more modern terms, of aesthetics. We believe that our analysis allows us to improve the annotation of editions of Cervantes works., El presente artículo analiza el uso cervantino de los términos que designan las partes artis en la retórica clásica: inventio, dispositio, elocutio, memoria, actio. No se agotaba la retórica en esta cuestión, pero junto con las partes del discurso, constituía su núcleo y permite acercarse a un aspecto no despreciable del pensamiento literario cervantino. Nuestra investigación puede definirse como más bien lexicográfica, es decir, que atiende a la mención o silencio respecto de estas palabras en contexto y sus variaciones de significado. La articulación central de la retórica en res y verba subyace la conocida diferencia cervantina entre el valor de una historia en sí y el modo de contarla del Coloquio de los perros o el Curioso impertinente, lo que demuestra la formación retórica del autor, cuya fuente probable debe ser el manual de Cipriano Suárez, Los tres libros del Arte Retórica (1569). Examinamos qué términos menciona Cervantes y por qué y discutimos en qué casos hay nuevos significados que se apartan de la tradición. Dos términos retóricos usa Cervantes de preferencia: invención (inventio) y elocución (elocutio). Por invención entiende la capacidad de ver tanto en lo que le rodea como en la tradición textual precedente qué se puede convertir en narración, qué es lo narrable: su sentido se aparta, pues, del retórico y se acerca más al estético. La elocución tiene que ver más bien con la selección léxica, la intención festiva y la adecuación al contexto. La dispositio, en cambio, Cervantes la cita mucho menos, tal vez porque la considera cuestión de práctica antes que de teoría. Problema conexo con lo anterior es el de la parte que corresponde a la retórica y la parte de la poética en relación con esta terminología: aquella suministra los términos, la concepción general es cuestión de poética, y en términos más modernos, de estética. Creemos que nuestro análisis permite mejorar la anotación de las ediciones de obras cervantinas al uso.

This work deals with the interpretation of texts produced by Florentine authors employed at the Chancery of Florence. The reading focuses on the use that the writing examined reserve to ancient historiographical sources, with the assumption that the retrieval of past events may have been conceived as an instrument of argumentation. We will try to prove that this method of work – illustrated by the cases of Coluccio Salutati, Bartolomeo Scala and Niccolò Machiavelli – could lead to the deliberate manipulation of sources, defining what we can call a “political use of ancient history”.

The purpose of the article is to select practice-approved ways to the combinatorial presentation of the componentі of the musical expression, in which, on the base of the general beliefs about music-rhetorical base inventio tax ways of the joining to speech liberty of the combinatorial use the music material. The methodology consists of riverbed intonation approach that is to say by means of beliefs about the unity of process factors in music and speech, as this bequeathing in works of B.Asafiev and his followers in Ukraine, unrolled specified interdisciplinary generalization, on example text books A.Losev, R.Ingarden, E.Nazaykinkij, E.Markova and others. The scientific novelty of the work is based on original and the practically-creative approved the idea of joining in mechanism rhetorical inventio, practical persons, combinatorial collation fragment and holistic music that-image, which the sequence forms the speech continuum of the music. Conclusions. The made analysis of the theoretical life lengths from the theory of the improvisation and theoretical positions of the rhetoric has allowed formulating the concrete operations cortical music operations of inventio as a way of the semantic join generalising value that-symbol with author's and out author’s thematic acquisition in straightening of acquisition "spoken creation of the music". The last one meets the terms modern performance art with his "neo-gothic style" discharge from priority to composer activity.

From a rhetorical perspective, the article argues that, for Paul, the figure of Adam serves as both a paradeigma (in a positive sense) and a contrarium (in a negative "epideictic" sense). This rhetorical technique occurs not only in Romans 5:12–14, but also in Paul's "Christ Hymn" in Philippians 2:6–11. In metaphorical terms, Adam as contrarium is depicted as the "old" humankind, the pre-converted "sinner" who lives "according to the flesh" (κατὰ σάρκα), and Adam as paradeigma is depicted as the "new" humankind, the regenerated "righteous" one who lives "according to the spirit" (κατὰ πνεῦμα). The oxymoron that the paradeigma-contrarium rhetorical technique refers to the same person is explained in this article in terms of Paul's emphasis on a spirituality of "transcendence in everydayness." The article is devoted to the fundamental positions of rhetoric and their embodiment in music, which corresponds to the modern conditions of performing art activity. The methodological basis of the article is the position of linguistic musicology, presented by the heirs of B. Asafiev’s school in Ukraine, in which the concept of “musical vocabulary of the era” holds an honorable place. Particular attention is devoted to the features of stringed and plucked instruments, which make up the specifics and emblem of national Ukrainian art. The laws of rhetoric, especially the inventio principles, fixing the tone-sound specifics of expressive sound production were studied. The intensity of the artistic component in the creative construction of the instrumental playing and in the essence of the artist’s performing position was determined. The scientific novelty of work determined theoretical innovation for the Ukrainian musicology of the problem of rhetorical inventio in music and its application in musicological discourse.

Este trabajo pretende mostrar la necesidad de aplicar una concepción amplia y global de la retórica, no solo ceñida al estudio de los tropos y figuras, para un correcto análisis e interpretación del texto literario. La inventio y la dispositio, esto es, la selección y organización de los asuntos, son los cimientos que sostienen la creación del texto literario, y sobre los que se asienta el ornatus de la expresión que proporcionan tropos y figuras. Tras una exposición teórica donde se plantea esta importante cuestión de la dimensión de la retórica y su competencia con la dialéctica, que tuvo una gran trascendencia en el Humanismo y se vinculó al intento de disminuir la presencia de la escolástica, se pasará a demostrar de manera práctica esa trascendencia de inventio y dispositio en el análisis de una selección de poemas desde el siglo XV al XVII. Pese a haber sido escritos en diferentes épocas y por distintos autores y ser sus temas también distintos, la génesis y construcción de todos ellos se basa en operaciones propias de la inventio y la dispositio, lo que destaca más en algunos de ellos, donde el uso de tropos y figuras es bastante escaso. Se trabajará con ediciones autorizadas de los distintos poetas, y con tratados y manuales de retórica que permitan establecer el adecuado contexto histórico de este problema, y también facilitar las herramientas para el análisis de los textos.

Concentrar-nos-emos, neste artigo, na primeira etapa da composição musical - inventio -, de modo a examinar mais profundamente o débito de Mattheson para com a instituição retórica latina.

En este artículo ponemos de manifiesto la importancia de uno de los muchos recursos que los cineastas utilizan al llevar a la gran pantalla adaptaciones literarias: la inventio. La inventio es un recurso que hemos catalogado como de ampliación. Para ver su efectividad y sus múltiples empleos usamos como modelo la obra anónima del Siglo XVI, El Lazarillo de Tormes, y la adaptación que de ella hizo Fernando Fernán Gómez a inicios del siglo XXI. En nuestro análisis observamos las múltiples funciones que puede llevar consigo la inventio y como el adaptador la va usando a su antojo para imprimir su concepción de la obra y su puesta en escena. Mediante su estudio también podremos comprender mejor los engranajes que articulan las narraciones audiovisuales y comprobamos además como este tipo de estudio es también interesante para todos aquellos guionistas que se quieran impregnar de los mecanismos internos de composición que se desarrollan en las adaptaciones, pues mediante su análisis quedan al descubierto las técnicas que los autores han realizado para poner en escena el relato adaptado y como éstos han resuelto los problemas de interpretación de lo que es en sí una obra ajena a su propia creación.

After having distinguished the two main contexts for the transmission of knowledge – the esoteric and exoteric – the paper offers a systematic comparison between scientific and popular science texts in terms of inventio, dispositio and elocutio. The popular science texts tend to present knowledge in anthropocentric terms, showing the relevance of the message to the recipients’ everyday lives. They turn out to be shorter than genuine scientific texts, and this is achieved, in part, by eliminating information about the methodologies used. The user-friendly vocabulary offers the audience a sense of familiarity with the presented topic, which is, however, different from in-depth specialist knowledge.

This article addresses the untimely relationship between criticism and language that emerged in Pasolini’s youth, which will be a changeable constant throughout his brief life. Giorgio Agamben points out that the young Pasolini does not subdue the Friulian dialect to the constitutional language, as he wants to say with the dialect high, difficult things, with greater freshness and power. Thus, the criticism operated by Pasolini mobilized eruptive debates, in which language shocked as inventum (institutional language) and language as inventio (language-poetry), for this confrontation to arise a critical and inventive philology.

This study uses patent renewal information to estimate private value of patents by technology and ownership status. Patent value refers to the economic reward that the inventor extracts from the patent by making, using or selling an invention. Thus, we measure the value of patent right (private value of patent) from the patentee perspective. Our empirical analysis comprises of 555 patents with application year during 1999 to 2002. The term of these patents either ended in 2018 or lapsed due to non-payment of renewal fee. We model renewal decision of patentee as ordered probit where patent renewal fee increases with the age of patent. Variables such as patent family size, technological scope, number of inventors and grant lag are used as explanatory variables in the corresponding regression. Hence, this paper combines the patentee renewal decision along with patents characteristics and renewal cost schedule to estimate the initial rent distribution. We find that a large number of patents expire at an early stage leaving few patents with high value corroborating the results of studies using European, American and Chinese data. As expected, certain technology class patents enjoy high valuation.

In english: In this article it is highlighted the importance of one of the many resources that filmmakers use when shown the screen version: la inventio. La inventio is a resort classed as expansion. To see its effectiveness and multiple purposes, it is used the anonymous work of the 16th century, El Lazarillo de Tormes, as model, and the adaptations done by Fernando Fernán Gómez at the beginning of 21st century. In this analysis it is shown the multiple functions “la invention” involved, and how the adaptor is using it on his own way to stamp his mark of the work and its staging. By studying it, it will be able to understand the wheels which organize the audio-visual stories and realized, moreover, how this kind of research is also interesting for those scriptwriters who want to be soaked with the internal mechanisms of composition developed in the adaptations, as by means of its analysis the techniques that authors created to staging the adapted story and how those have solved the interpretation problems of a work beyond its creation.

Malinowski aurait peut-être souhaité que son journal soit révélé à titre posthume afin de contester l’accent mis sur la méthode scientifique par l’anthropologie sociale de son époque. Le dévoilement du journal de Bronislaw Malinowski renverse la domination des explications du fait social par le déterminisme, ouvrant la voie à ce qui devient, dans les années 1960, le tournant discursif. Le journal offre un aperçu de l’impulsion de vitalité de Malinowski et de ses préoccupations existentielles, qui sont excisées dans le processus de réécriture, connu pour transformer les notes de terrain en l’expression formelle caractérisant les monographies. L’anthropologue rédige des monographies pour ses contemporains en construisant des récits étayés par des preuves scientifiques d’une manière qui dissimule par la censure, les automatismes et la catégorie plus large de la subjectivité, ainsi que la possible relégation temporelle de l’Autre, qui peut entraîner la discrimination envers celui-ci. La personnalité publique de l’anthropologue est stylisée par le souci professionnel de représenter correctement le natif-comme-texte. Puisqu’il réfléchit à son avenir publiable, on émet l’hypothèse que Malinowski aurait l’intention de rédiger les entrées de son journal afin d’apporter une contribution posthume à l’anthropologie. Si cela est vrai, le journal est l’espace où les stratégies d’auto-dévoilement surgissent au premier plan, révélant la vulnérabilité supposée de l’auteur. Le dévoilement de l’expérience de vie n’est pas le produit d’un monologue intérieur chaotique, mais possède une fin en soi, qui est de révéler, à travers le mode de l’aveu, l’anthropologue-comme-texte. On pensait autrefois qu’en anthropologie, le système de la vérité était basé sur l’écriture théorique. Maintenant, le journal est mis en évidence. L’héritage de Malinowski repose avant tout sur la sophistique utilisée pour réorganiser le système de vérité entre l’écriture théorique et l’intime, entre la monographie et le journal. Cette réorganisation des vérités est accomplie à travers Writing in Schein qui est mon idiome se référant au jeu textuel avec des composantes du discours destiné à produire la litterarité inspirée d’images brillantes dans l’art apollinien. Writing in Schein est alors la diffusion des apparences, qui amplifie la crise de la représentation entre la copie qui imite, et le simulacre qui invente, puisque la sophistique nécessaire pour aligner les éléments du discours est une folle simulation littéraire. Par l’acte unique du journal et son dévoilement prévu pour la postérité, Malinowski détruit l’enchainement de l’activité productive en anthropologie., Malinowski may have wished for his diary to be revealed posthumously in order to contest the intense focus on the scientific method, adopted in his time. The unveiling of Bronislaw Malinowski’s diary overthrows the dominance of explanations of social fact based solely on determinism, paving the way for what becomes known, during the 1960s, as the discursive turn. The diary offers insight into Malinowski’s impulse of vitality, along the existential concerns and narratives of personal experience, which are excised in the process of rewriting known to transform field notes into the type of formal expression that characterizes monographs. The anthropologist writes monographs for contemporaries by responding to their expectation of accounts backed by scientific evidence in a way that fosters concealment through censorship, automatisms and the larger category of subjectivity, as well as the possible time-relegation of the Other, which may result in discrimination against him. A positive public persona is stylized out of professional concern for properly staging the native-as-text. It is hypothesized that Malinowski possible future publication of the journal intends to compose its entries so as to make a posthumous contribution to anthropology. If that is true, the journal is the space where strategies of self-showing come to the fore, revealing the author’s assumed vulnerability. The unveiling of life experience is not the product of chaotic interior monologue or brooding, but has an end-goal which is to unveil, through the mode of avowal, the anthropologist-as-text. It was once thought that the anthropological system of truth is based on theoretical writing. Now, however diary is highlighted. Malinowski’s legacy rests foremost upon the sophistry used to reorder the system of truth between theoretical and intimate writing, between the monograph and the diary. This reordering of truths is accomplished through Writing in Schein, which is my idiom referring to the textual play with components of discourse intended to produce beautiful constructs inspired by shining images in Apollonian art. Writing in Schein is then the dissemination of appearances, which amplifies the crisis of representation between the copy that imitates, and the simulacrum that invents, since the sophistry required to align elements of discourse is a mad literary simulation. Through the single act of the diary and its unveiling planned for posterity, Malinowski destroys the sequence of productive activity in anthropology., Malinowski możliwie życzył sobie, aby dziennik został ujawniony pośmiertnie. Rhetorice According to the Second Book of Quintillian's Intitutio oratoria In the second book of Institutio oratoria Quintilian contemplates the definition and nature of rhetoric. The lecture on rhetoric can be divided into three parts: on art (ars), master (artifex), work (opus). The most common definition of rhetoric can be summed up as the power of persuasion (vis persuadendi). Every element of rhetoric changes with the content of the cases, the times, the circumstances, the needs. No law proposals, no resolutions passed by the people constituted the noble rules of rhetoric; they were formed by practice. If utility will advise us to do something different, we should follow such advice and not be constrained by the authority of the former masters. The important virtue (virtus) of the teacher is to take into consideration the different talents of every student and to discover their natural predispositions. In Quintilian’s definition the speaker and his art are not dependent on the effect. Though a speaker aims for victory, then even if he lost the case he still achieved the goal of his art, provided that he spoke honestly.

43. A invenção dos direitos e a racialização dos patrimônios: a Constituição de 1988 e a desconstrução do monolito monocultural da nação

The article discusses how "heritage inventions" take place, as possibilities of rights, and, through this, the racialization when making these choices. With the nomination characteristic of the Law in mind, we defy its role in cultural systems that interact with patrimonialization, which usually make a distinction of the cultural heritage and practices of the hegemonic groups. In this context, the use of the law, through its nomination power, contained in the legal protection of heritage, has been one of the means used to racialize the issue and, consequently, the nation's identity and representation. In conclusion, we demonstrate that the Federal Constitution of 1988 broke with the hegemonic tradition when it allowed indigenous, Afro-Brazilians and other groups to participate in the national civilization process, by opening cracks in the monolith of the monocultural representation of the Nation in the Luso-Brazilian tradition. The methodology used was a critical review of literature., O artigo objetiva discutir como se dão as invenções dos patrimônios como hipóteses de direitos e demonstrar como, através disso, promove-se a racialização da distinção dessas escolhas. Questiona-se aqui a sua função em sistemas culturais que interagem com a patrimonialização, a qual costuma dar distinção às práticas e bens culturais dos grupos hegemônicos. Nesse contexto, o uso do Direito, através do seu poder de nomeação contido nas práticas patrimoniais, tem sido um dos artifícios utilizados para se racializar o patrimônio e, consequentemente, a imagem e a representação da Nação. Como conclusão, demonstra-se que a Constituição Federal de 1988 rompeu com a lógica hegemônica quando permitiu que exemplares das culturas indígenas, afro-brasileiras e de outros grupos participantes do processo civilizatório pátrio abrissem fissuras no monolito da representação monocultural da Nação de tradição luso-brasileira. A metodologia utilizada foi a revisão crítica de literatura.

44. Fantasy or a Transcendent Experience? Study of the Painting Ascent into Heaven by Jheronimus Bosch from the Palazzo Ducale in Venice

The Polish version of the article was published in “Roczniki Humanistyczne,” vol. 63 (2015), issue 4. The painting Ascent into Heaven (88.8 x 39.9 cm; dendrological dating: 1482–1490) kept in the Palazzo Ducale in Venice is one of the four eschatological panels (the other three are: Earthly Paradise, Fall of the Damned, Hell) which probably were in the collection of the Venetian Cardinal Domenico Grimani in the 1520s. The panels’ original arrangement and function are unknown. The paintings are not signed and their attribution to Jheronimus Bosch (c. 1450–1516 ) is based largely on the grounds of stylistic criteria. In the study, I put Ascent into Heaven into two fundamental contexts for the iconographic analysis of this work: eschatological literature and Netherlandish/ Flemish painting and in the context of near-death experiences (NDE) as well. The answer to the question posed in the title of the study must remain twofold. On the basis of the data gathered in the study, the content of the painting can be comprehended by references to the most frequently quoted sources of inspiration for Bosch: one painting by Dieric Bouts (left wing of the Last Judgement Altarpiece; Lille, Palais des Beaux Arts), two illuminations by Simon Marmion (Le livre des sept Ages du monde; Brussels, Bibliothèque royale de Belgique, Ms. 9047, fols. IV & 12r) and a literary work Dat rike der ghelieven by Jan van Ruusbroec. Its content can be equally understood by reference to the role of the painter’s imagination (categories of inventio and fantasia), using his theological and astronomical knowledge. The above line of interpretation that emphasizes the influence of biblical logosphere, takes into account undeniable religious experience of the painter from ‘s-Hertogenbosch resulting from being a member of the Church. The factor of an epistemological importance which influences the form of the answer to the title question is hypothetical non-verifiable Bosch’s personal transcendental experience, thus it becomes impossible to evaluate the translation of what is spiritual (experience) into visual (image). Due to the elusive, not fully scientific nature of NDE this phenomenon should be excluded from the final conclusion.

The paper we present emerges as a theoretical reflection inside the Project AMATRA of the University of Granada, integrated into the European Project Technological on-line framework to integrate the work-flow of audiovisual accessible translation (WAVAT); CO. 262052. This project leaded by GIZERBITEK S.L. is orientated to create a technological website platform opens to any kind of users, where people, independently his functional characteristics can interact with any audiovisual resources. In the paper we defend the AD text as a new modern discourse, a coherence oral text and a speech act according to the five phases of the Quintilian Rhetoric: inventio, dispositio, elocutio, memoria and actio. We also offer examples of the main tropes and figures that ornament the AD text and made it a rhetorical discourse. El trabajo que presentamos surge como reflexión teórica dentro del Proyecto de investigación AMATRA del Departamento de Traducción e Interpretación de la Universidad de Granada. Se enmarca además dentro de los estudios de la audiodescripción para ciegos que llevamos realizando varios años. Gracias al software Taggetti, creado para etiquetar películas de la ONCE, hemos realizado incursiones en ámbitos culturales muy diversos como la Teoría de la literatura, el cine, la tecnología, la Didáctica museística, etc. En este artículo defendemos el texto audidescrito como un nuevo discurso moderno, como un texto oral coherente que se ajusta perfectamente a las cinco fases de la retórica quintiliana: inventio, dispositio, elocutio, memoria y actio. Para demostrar esta tesis ofrecemos una serie de ejemplos de unidades de significado de algunos guiones audiodescriptivos en las que aparecen los tropos más relevantes de la retórica clásica.

New Rhetorics has returned to the classical meaning of rhetoric as a science of discourse and not only as a study of literary figures. The contributions of contemporary linguistics, particularly pragmatics, to the analysis of discourse as «language in action» demonstrate the validity of the postulates of classical rhetoric. In this sense, it is perfectly possible to apply categories of rhetoric to the analysis of translation since it is a communicative activity that uses language as a means of transmission. However, it is convenient to overcome the traditional dedication at the most superficial level of elocutio and pay attention to other levels, be it before the performance of the discourse, such as intellectio, or being formants of it, such as inventio. We can consider the intellectio as the location of the author prior to the text from the point of view of field, mode and tenor. Inventio is an encyclopedia of topics and ways of treating them conditioned culturally and historically. The translation of a text can find problems at both levels that go beyond those strictly lexical, even if they end up being reflected in words. As an example, we use the translations into Spanish, with an intermediate language, of two poems by Ataol Behramoglu originally in Turkish.

In the beginning of the eighteenth century, when intellectual circles were still ablaze with the quarrel of the Ancients and the Moderns, Italian culture has been confronted with the spread of Cartesian and Port-Royal thought for some years. The new logico-mathematical method, which was at the core of these trends of thought, soon prevailed over the ancient tradition of demonstration and rhetorical argumentation. As he wished to counter attack and behalf of rhetorics without siding with the Ancients, Giambattista Vico wrote the De Antiquissima italorum sapientia ex linguae latinae originibus emenda en 1710, in order to put forward a third possible solution to the quarrel.

Frente a su producción teatral o a sus novelas, la poesía de Antonio Gala ha sido mucho menos estudiada por la academia. En este artículo se realiza un acercamiento a la poesía de Gala, en concreto a su libro El poema de Tobías desangelado (2005), proponiendo una lectura, entre otras posibles, del poemario, que es una peregrinatio vitae y una peregrinatio amoris, en clave de lírica de viajes en particular y en clave de literatura de viajes en general. Para ello, tomando como referencia principal el trabajo de Idoia Arbillaga, se analiza y ejemplifica la concreción de las cuestiones retóricas propias del género presentes en el texto —inventio, dispositio, elocutio, etcétera— y se recopilan y organizan todos los elementos relativos al viaje, al paseo y al paisaje que Gala reúne en sus poemas —los vehículos utilizados, el contacto con otras culturas, sus religiones, sus monumentos, el compañero de peripecias, etcétera—. Compared to his theatrical production or his novels, Antonio Gala’s poetry has been much less studied by the academy. In this article, an approach to Gala’s poetry is made, specifically to his book El poema de Tobías desangelado (2005), proposing a reading, among other possible ones, of the book of poems, which is a peregrinatio vitae and a peregrinatio amoris too, in terms of travel lyric poetry in particular and in terms of travel literature in general. To do this, taking the work of Idoia Arbillaga as the main reference, the specific rhetorical issues of the genre present in the text are analyzed and exemplified —inventio, dispositio, elocutio, etc.— and all the elements related to the trip, also to the path and to the landscape, that Gala gathers in his poems, are collected and organized —the vehicles used, the contact with other cultures, their religions, their monuments, the companion, and so on—.
