The prepared draft of the new international financial reporting standard IFRS (IAS) 1 makes significant adjustments to the regulations for the formation of financial statements. The changes envisaged by this document provide new opportunities for improving the preparation of these reports, but at the same time, the requirements in it lead to several significant problems in this area. The study’s objectives are analysing these opportunities and problems, as well as the development of proposals for their solution. Methodological analysis includes synthesis, grouping and analogy methods, comparison, logical and systematic approaches. Also, it is based on a critical analysis of the draft new IAS 1, both in terms of the terminology used in this document and the approaches provided for in it to compile various reporting forms. The research results can improve both international financial reporting regulations and Russian requirements in this area. As prospects for the study should be called an assessment of further changes made by the IASB to the draft new IAS 1, identifying the problems that arise in this case and finding ways to solve them.

Modern type of business organizations was started in Ethiopian before hundred years ago and the number is tremendously increasing nowadays. However, there was no one set of generally accepted accounting standard used by business organization in the country till December 2014 when IFRS was proclaimed as the law of the land. Though IFRS was accepted for financial reporting in the country starting from 2014, the level of preparedness in teaching IFRS in Ethiopian universities was not studied. This paper is aimed at identifying problems in teaching IFRS among teachers in Ethiopia universities. To achieve this objective, data was collected from 46 academic staffs working in six universities in the country. The study found that teachers in relatively old universities are trying to incorporate IFRS in their course plan as compared to those in recently established universities. Generally, the level of preparedness to incorporate IFRS is low in majority of the universities under study. Lack of text books in line with IFRS, problem of integrating IFRS in to the curriculum and lack of practical experiences are the top three bottle necks that hinder teaching IFRS in our universities. In order to prepare our staffs to teach in line with IFRS, both short and long term capacity building strategies were recommended in this study.

The problems of definition and recognition of fixed assets are considered. The current Accounting Regulation «Accounting for Fixed Assets» is compared with the International Standard «Fixed Assets» in terms of determining and recognizing objects in accounting and reporting.

Many studies have been conducted in the field of ethics in accounting and auditing. In this study, using the method of document mining and studying the existing texts in the field of ethics and International Financial Reporting Standards, the position of ethics in the implementation of international financial reporting standards has been explained. The results of this study indicate that the observance of ethical principles, values and criteria, is essential in all stages of International Financial Reporting Standards Implementation, which can be done through theoretical (university) and professional ethical education (associations, financial institutions, professional etiquette) Institutionalized.

International Reporting Financial Standard (IFRS) 16 aims to improve transparency in reporting Corporate Real Estate (CRE) commitments. Aimed at leasehold issues, its introduction may affect CRE ownership as leasing's off-balance sheet benefits disappear. Ownership results from a large Australian CREstudy are reported. 2016 Annual Reports were analysed, as this predates the standard's implementation. Results report two owned CRE-related quanta – Property, Plant and Equipment (PP&E) and real estate, in aggregate and by industry sector. Other parameters, like a Corporate Real Estate Ratio (CRER), the real estate to PP&E ratio, and valuation practices are also reported. A total of $5.14 trillion of PP&E was reported ($57.10 billion per firm) and $71.50 billion in real estate ($717.5 million). Financial, Energy, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors had the highest averages. A CRER of 30.4% continued a long-term trend, though individual firms' ratios within sectors varied markedly. The RE to PP&E ratio, expected to change post-IFRS 16, was an average of 25.4%, also with wide variance for individual firms. Preferred valuation methods matched previous studies with depreciated acquisition cost dominating (72.3%). This is a pre-IFRS 16 baseline to evaluate postimplementation ownership changes and updates previous CRE ownership studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
