La fibromialgia es una enfermedad caracterizada por una sintomatología compleja con presencia de dolor crónico generalizado junto con otros síntomas incapacitantes como fatiga y problemas de memoria. Como consecuencia, suelen verse deteriorados sus niveles de bienestar. Por lo tanto, es necesario encontrar factores modificables mediante terapia para mejorar el bienestar en la fibromialgia. En esta población, la fuerza de prensión manual es un conocido marcador relevante de salud física, pero se desconoce si también lo es de salud psicológica. Objetivo. Analizar la asociación entre los niveles de fuerza de prensión manual con el bienestar subjetivo en mujeres con fibromialgia. Métodos. Este estudio transversal incluyó a 465 mujeres pertenecientes a pertenecientes a la Comunidad de Andalucía (España). La fuerza se midió a través del test de prensión manual. Las dos dimensiones (i.e., afectiva y cognitiva) del bienestar subjetivo se midieron con cuestionarios, Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS) para el afecto positivo y negativo y Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) para la satisfacción con la vida. El COVID-19 ha ocasionado el cierre de los grandes entes culturales que ha impactado en los hábitos culturales de los ciudadanos. Desde el inicio de esta Pandemia Global, las herramientas digitales se han convertido en las grandes aliadas de los museos para seguir en contacto con sus visitantes, reforzando sus vínculos y apostando por la digitalización de contenidos tanto en formato directo como diferido. Analizar la eficacia de esta comunicación digital y los hábitos de uso y consumo que caracteriza a los visitantes de los museos para readaptar y mejorar las estrategias de comunicación de los museos en tiempos de Coronavirus es fundamental. Se trata de un estudio de carácter estadístico - descriptivo donde se presentan los resultados de un cuestionario realizado a 619 visitantes de dos de los museos con mayor número de visitas en Castilla y León: El Museo de La Evolución Humana y El Museo Art Nouveau y Art Decó – Casa Lis. Entre los principales resultados destaca el aumento en el número de visitantes que accede a la información a través de redes sociales y servicios móviles, lo que implica un cambio en la forma de informarse, pero también se detecta la necesidad de implementar estrategias digitales para afrontar una crisis como el COVID-19.

Augmented Reality (AR) annotations are a powerful way of communication when collaborators cannot be present at the same time in a given environment. However, this situation presents several challenges, for example: how to record the AR annotations for later consumption, how to align virtual and real world in unprepared environments or how to offer the annotations to users with different AR devices. In this paper we present a cross-device AR annotation method that allows users to create and display annotations asynchronously in environments without the need for prior preparation (AR markers, point cloud capture, etc.). This is achieved through an easy user-assisted calibration process and a data model that allows any type of annotation to be stored on any device. The experimental study carried out with 40 participants has verified our two hypotheses: we are able to visualize AR annotations in indoor environments without prior preparation regardless of the device used and the overall usability of the system is satisfactory.

A web application, DesMol2, which offers two main functionalities, is presented: the construction of molecular libraries and the calculation of topological indices. These functionalities are explained through a practical example of research of active molecules to the formylpeptide receptor (FPR), a receptor associated with chronic inflammation in systemic amyloidosis and Alzheimer’s disease. Starting from a data(base) of 106 dioxopiperazine pyrrolidin piperazine derivatives and their respective constant values of binding affinity to FPR, multilinear regression and discriminant analyses are performed to calculate several predictive topological-mathematical models. Next, using the DesMol2 application, a molecular library consisting of 6,120 molecules is built and performed for each predictive model. The best potential active candidates are selected and compared with results from other previous works.

The use of augmented reality (AR) in cultural heritage (CH) applications opens a whole set of possibilities, including the virtual transformation of CH elements. This paper presents TinajAR, a mirror-based AR application designed to serve both as an edutainment application in the field of CH and also as an artistic expression. As an edutainment application, TinajAR features a multi-marker video-based AR application designed to show virtual ceramic pieces and explain the pottery process through virtual avatars. As an artistic expression, TinajAR seeks to reinterpret an ancient type of cellar called calado, which was used in the past for storing wine in northern Spain. The reinterpretation consists in giving a different but meaningful use to the space. TinajAR was used by around 1800 people during a ceramics exhibition in La Rioja, Spain and was assessed at the satisfaction level with 56 users by means of a system usability scale, giving very satisfactory results.

In this paper, we introduce ROMOT, a RObotic 3D-MOvie Theatre, and present a case study related to driving safety. ROMOT is built with a robotic motion platform, includes multimodal devices, and supports audience-film interaction. We show the versatility of the system by means of different types of system setups and generated content that includes a first-person movie and others involving the technologies of virtual, augmented, and mixed realities. Finally, we present the results of some preliminary user tests made at the laboratory level, including the system usability scale. They give satisfactory scores for the usability of the system and the individual’s satisfaction.
