International audience; Since the emergence of electronic image sensors, stellar pictures can be easily processed by computers to identify stars and measure angles : distance between light spots on the same scene or angle above the visible horizon, like the sextant does for celestial navigation.Adding an inclinometer on the camera axis, the computer is now able to calculate the attitude angles (course, trim and list) in a local coordinate system and the position (latitude, longitude and even altitude). The last coordinate, time, may be measured by observing angular distances on the celestial sphere between stars located near the orbit of a satellite (Moon or LEO). If the sensor is on a vehicle, gyroscopes are necessary to smooth the rotations or vibrations.Going from this appealing theory to the reality of a daytime stellar positioning system hides many challenges such as detecting stars by day, at low altitude or in bad weather. If the level of accuracy increases, many sources of error emerge, e.g. sky background, diffraction limit, vertical deflection.Many prototypes or manufactured products have shown the potential of a stellar positioning system thanks to the maturity of technologies like inertial sensors and silicon CMOS detectors. Most of these applications are designed for altitude operations such as : • yield the attitude angles of satellites, stratospheric balloons, high altitude aircraft or missiles ; • adjust the inertial system of civil aircraft ; • measure satellite parameters from immobile ground telescopes in altitude ; • but rarely for positioning.The last challenge lies in tracking stars from a moving vehicle during daytime at low altitude : sea or land. The lower layers of atmosphere add numerous perturbations, forcing to work by day in infrared band, where silicon sensitivity ends and InGaAs sensitivity starts (or other technologies).This paper aims at looking for a compromise between detector technologies, stars detectability, duration of availability and accuracy of results for a stellar positioning system on a moving vehicle on the ground or at sea.A first parameter is the transmission of the atmosphere : when wavelength increases, scattering decreases but thermal emissions in infrared submerge starlight. Some bands obscure it but transmit photons from molecular resonance fluorescence of sunlight. A rigorous simulation of radiative transfer with local weather parameters is necessary to figure out the best band of transmission.Secondly, the number of observable stars in each band, with a given magnitude or flux, increases with the wavelength… except in R (0.6-0.7μm) and I (0.7-1.0μm) bands where we have few data in star catalogs : the magnitudes of many stars have been calculated by comparing their known data and their spectral type, confirming the tendency.Lastly, silicon technology for light detection is well developed thanks to public cameras and smartphones : the size and number of pixels on a sensor allow a high accuracy on angular distance measurements. In the opposite, Short Wave InfraRed detectors (SWIR: 1.0–2.5 μm) suffer bigger pitch and poor definition. But the potential of SWIR detectors remains high, and their performances are improving quickly. Betting on this ascending technology readiness, daytime star tracking tests have been realized : simulations are confirmed, and new challenges occur.

The thirteenth edition of the workshop focused on the last developments on oncologic imaging techniques. Our goal was purposely large, consisting in bringing together chemists, biologists, physicists, pharmacists and physicians to discuss these imaging developments. The meeting focused in four main topics: i) the evolution of imaging modalities such as photoacoustic or the latest PET (positrons emission tomography) imaging progress; ii) the improvements in imaging process; iii) the numerous contributions of chemistry towards medical imaging and iv) novel approaches of nuclear medicine in therapeutic monitoring strategies and theranostic aspects., (Copyright © 2022.)

The ability to detect substances or molecules with high sensitivity and to image objects with high resolution plays an important role in our everyday life as well as in advances in understanding fundamental phenomena. Optical techniques are generally highly beneficial for this purpose as they are intrinsically remote, non-invasive and exhibit superior sensitivity and resolution. In this context, it is thus not surprising that a wide range of sensing and imaging techniques have been developed in the past decades and are continuously the subject intense research. The performance of these methods depends dramatically on the type of light source that is used and it is therefore essential to tailor the light source properties to the intended method of application.A spectral region which has recently attracted a wide interest is the mid-infrared corresponding to the molecular fingerprint region and the atmospheric transparency window. This in turn has triggered renewed research effort into adapting existing technique to this particular region of the electromagnetic spectrum including the light sources and detection schemes. This thesis reports novel, proof-of-concept, broadband optical sensing and imaging techniques in the infrared using supercontinuum light, a class of light sources with unique properties. The techniques are experimentally demonstrated and their performances discussed.Specifically, the thesis demonstrate incoherent broadband cavity enhanced absorp- tion spectroscopy in the mid-infrared wavelength range from 3000 to 3450 nm. Multi-component gas detection with sub-ppm accuracy is achieved in this range, which constitutes the widest continuous detection range for this technique in the mid-infrared.Cantilever-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy in the mid-infrared is also demonstrated for the first time in this thesis. The approach is broadband and allows for higher photoacoustic signal intensity and enhanced signal-to-noise ratio as compared to conventional systems that use back-body radiation sources. These results offer novel perspective for photoacoustic detection opening the door to sensitive broadband and compact analysers in the mid-infrared spectral region.Exploiting the shot-to-shot fluctuations of an incoherent supercontinuum and the recent progress in ultrafast real-time spectral measurement techniques, the thesis finally reports on a novel proof-of-concept correlation sensing and imaging method in the form of spectral-domain ghost imaging. The method is fast, scan-free, and offer new opportunities for remote sensing in scattering and absorbing media, or in spectral regions where sensitive detectors are lacking. Application of this technique to broadband spectroscopic measurements gases as well as for interferometric imaging of physical objects is demonstrated. One can legitimately expect that the work presented in this thesis will foster new ideas and developments for optical sensing and imaging.; Les méthodes de mesure optiques sont très performantes avec une sensibilité et une résolution généralement supérieure aux autres techniques, et elles possèdent aussi l’avantage d’être sans contact et non invasives. Cette thèse introduit plusieurs nouvelles techniques de détection optique et d'imagerie basées sur l’utilisation de sources super continuum dans l’infrarouge.Les propriétés uniques de ce type de source lumineuse, en particulier leur large bande spectrale combinée à une cohérence spatiale parfaite,permettent d’obtenir des performances supérieures en terme de résolution ou de sensibilité.Les techniques proposées sont expérimentalement démontrées et leurs performances caractérisées.La thèse démontre une technique de spectroscopie par absorption en cavité résonnante ainsi qu’une technique de spectroscopie par effet photo-acoustique, pour la première fois dans l’infrarouge moyen. La thèse introduit un nouveau concept de détection et d'imagerie par corrélations,équivalent à l’imagerie fantôme mais dans le domaine spectral, et son application à la spectroscopie par absorption ainsi qu'à la tomographie par cohérence optique d'objets physiques sont démontrées. Les techniques proposées et étudiées dans cette thèse ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives pour la détection sensible et l’imagerie dans l’infrarouge. De manière plus générale,les concepts introduits étant génériques, ils peuvent être étendus à d’autres régions du spectre électromagnétique et les travaux présentés sont amenés à stimuler de nouvelles idées et de nouveaux développements pour les techniques de détection et d'imagerie optiques.

The present study aimed to explore Raman and IR in combination with PCA to detect molecularchanges induced by different classes of antibiotics(ampicillin, cefotaxime, tetracycline and ciprofloxacin) against two bacterial models (E.coli and V. parahaemolyticus) In E. coli,ampicillin and cefotaxime treatments led to a decrease of protein bands in both Raman and IR,an increase of carbohydrates in IR. Tetracycline addition caused an increase of nucleic acids, a sharp decrease of phenylalanine in Raman, a decrease of protein bands and an increase of DNA in both Raman and IR. For ciprofloxacin, an increase of nuleic acids in Raman, an increase of protein bands and DNA in IR were observed. In V. parahaemolyticus, cefotaxime resulted in a decrease of protein bands in both Raman and IR,an increase of polysaccharides in IR. Tetracycline increase of polysaccharides and a decrease of proteins in both Raman and Infra-red were noticed. Clear discrimination of antibiotic-treated samples compared to the control was recorded for the three antibiotic classes in both E. coli and V. parahaemolyticus. For the latter, resistance pattern has also been observed for ampicillin. This work lays the foundations for an understanding of the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in the bacterial systems., Ce travail avait pour objectif principal l’étude par spectroscopie vibrationnelle Raman et IR, couplée à l’analyse statistique de type ACP, la détection des changements moléculaires induits par différentesclasses d’antibiotiques (ampicilline, céfotaxime,tétracycline et ciprofloxacine) vis-à-vis de deux bactéries modèles (E. coli et V. parahaemolyticus). Dans le cas d’E. coli, l’ampicilline et le céfotaxime ont provoqué une baisse des bandes protéiques en Raman et IR, une augmentation des carbohydrates en IR.L’addition de la tétracycline a entraîné une augmentation des acides nucléiques, une forte baisse de la phénylalanine en Raman, une diminution des bandes protéiques et une augmentation de l’ADN en Raman et IR. Concernant la ciprofloxacine, une augmentation des acides nucléiques en Raman, une augmentation des bandes protéiques et de l’ADN en IR ont été observées. Chez V. parahaemolyticus, le céfotaxime a provoqué une baisse des protéines en Raman et Infra-rouge, une augmentation des polysaccharides en Infra-rouge. L’addition de la tétracycline a entraîné une baisse de la phénylalanine en Raman, une baisse des protéines en Raman et Infra-rouge, une augmentation des polysaccharides en Infra-rouge. Concernant la ciprofloxacine, une augmentation des polysaccharides et une diminution des bandes protéiques en Raman et IR ont été détectées. Une nette discrimination entre les échantillons traités aux antibiotiques et le témoin a été enregistrée chez E. coli et V. parahaemolyticus. Pour cette dernière, le profil de résistance à l’ampicilline a aussi été observé. Ce travail jette les bases d’une compréhension des mécanismes d’antibio-résistance dans les systèmes bactériens.

This thesis deals with the elaboration of phosphors (La₂O₂S:Er,Yb, La₂O₂S:Nd, Lu₂O₂S:Nd, CaLa₂S₄:Nd) and optical IR ceramics (ZnS and CaLa₂S₄). First, the routes for the synthesis of high purity powders have been developed, mainly by combustion method followed by H₂S(/N₂) treatment. La₂O₂S:Er, Yb nanopowders (50-200 nm) proved to be very efficient phosphors for up-conversion. La₂O₂S: Nd nanopowders (~250 nm) have a laser effect with a 2.5 mJ output energy and a yield higher than 15%. The densification by hot pressing of ZnS powders prepared following three synthesis routes (precipitation, combustion synthesis and reaction melt) has developed ZnS transparent ceramic of CVD‐HIP quality, with maximum transmission greater than 73% at 12μm (from powders obtained by precipitation) and with the theoretical maximum transmission of 75% at 10μm (from powders obtained by combustion). Hot pressing of CaLa₂S₄ powders, between 1100°C and 1300°C, leads to IR opaque ceramics with black color, due to carbon diffusion from the sintering matrix and/or to sulfur loss. CaLa₂S₄ as new phosphor matrix material tolerates high Nd doping level. After excitation at 815 nm, it shows two intense emissions at 900 nm and 1060 nm, and a lower transmission at 1350nm with a luminescence intensity that increases up to 10% (mol) Nd., Ce travail de thèse porte sur l'élaboration de luminophores (La₂O₂S:Er,Yb, La₂O₂S:Nd, Lu₂O₂S:Nd, CaLa₂S₄:Nd) et céramiques optiques infra-rouges (ZnS et CaLa₂S₄). Il a consisté, en premier lieu, à développer des méthodes de synthèse de poudres de très grande pureté, principalement par méthode de combustion suivie de traitement sous H₂S(/N₂). Des nanopoudres de La₂O₂S:Er,Yb (50-200nm) se sont révélées être des luminophores très efficaces pour l'up‐conversion. Des nanopoudres de La₂O₂S: Nd (~250 nm) présentent un effet laser avec une énergie émise de 2,5 mJ et un rendement supérieur à 15%. L'étude de la densification (par hot pressing, HP) de poudres de ZnS préparées selon trois voies de synthèse (précipitation, synthèse par combustion et réaction en bain fondu) a permis d'élaborer des céramiques transparentes ZnS de qualité CVD‐HIP, avec des transmissions maximales supérieures à 73% à 12μm (précipitation) et la transmission maximale théorique de 75% à 10μm (combustion). Le frittage par HP de poudres de CaLa₂S₄, entre 1100°C et 1300°C, conduit, à cause d'une contamination par le carbone de la matrice de frittage et/ou d'une perte de soufre, à des céramiques noires et opaques en IR. CaLa₂S₄ comme nouveau matériau de matrice tolère des taux de dopage élevés en Nd. Après excitation à 815nm, il présente deux émissions intenses à 900nm et 1060nm, ainsi qu'une émission plus faible à 1350nm avec une intensité de luminescence qui augmente jusqu'à 10% molaire en Nd.

Laser-plasma interaction at high intensities (I " 1015 W/cm2) with ultra-short pulses ( t " 100 fs) is a booming research domain as it offers the opportunity to study increasingly short phenomena, comprised under the trivial name " attosecond science ". Laser-plasma interaction also bears the promise to achieve new light sources for the generation of energetic particle beams and X-rays. Our approach focuses on the generation of attosecond pulses from plasma mirrors using few-cycle laser pulses ( 5 fs at 800 nm) at high repetition rate (1 kHz) and with fine control of laser parameters. The generation and spatio-temporal control of high-order harmonics emission in the non-relativistic regime has recently been demosntrated by our group. The following objective is to reach the relativistic regime thanks to higher intensities on target. This thesis pursued the goals of improving the existing laser chain performances in termes of energy and temporal contrast, while preserving, at least, all the other key parameters. Meeting these requirements was achieved while developing a laser architecture based on chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) delivering 5 mJ, 5 fs pulses at 1 kHz, with a temporal contrast C = 1011 and an absolute phase (CEP) stabilized down to 200 mrad rms. Contrast improvement by cross-polarized wave (XPW) generation is at the centre of this dissertation. An extensive study of the mechanism was carried out. It allowed to confront experimental results and theoretical developments in " extremes " regimes such as the generation at very high efficiency and few-cycle pulse filtering. Besides, a new energy-scalable scheme was proposed to filter efficiently (20%) a wide range of pulse energies (from 100 μJ to 10 mJ). Pulse compression by a factor larger than two was also demonstrated. The new laser chain includes such filter in a double-CPA configuration delivering pulses of 10 mJ, 20 fs, C = 1011 and CEP = 200 mrad rms. A detailed study was carried out to develop a new stretcher/compressor scheme achieving highly stretched pulses (50 ps) while remaining compact to preserve CEP stability. The chosen configuration consists of a bulk stretcher, an acousto-optic programmable dispersive filter and a grisms compressor. The manuscript finally presents the perspectives of post-compression in a rare-gas filled hollow-core fibre in order to achieve pulses of 5 mJ, 5 fs, C = 1011, CEP = 200 mrad rms at 1 kHz.; L'interaction laser-plasma à très haute intensité (I " 1015 W/cm2) avec des impulsions ultra-courtes ( t " 100 fs) est un domaine en plein essor car il offre l'opportunité d'étudier des phénomènes physiques toujours plus brefs, regroupés sous l'appellation " science attoseconde ". La problématique de l'amélioration du contraste par la technique de génération de polarisation croisée (XPW) occupe une place centrale dans ce mémoire. Une étude extensive du mécanisme XPW a été menée. Elle a permis de confronter résultats expérimentaux et développements théoriques dans les régimes dits " extrêmes " tels que la génération à très haut rendement et le filtrage d'impulsions de quelques cycles optiques. En outre, un nouveau schéma de filtrage adaptable sur une large gamme d'énergie (de 100 μJ à 10 mJ) et efficace (20%) a été réalisé. La compression des impulsions d'un facteur supérieur à deux avec ce schéma a également été démontrée. La nouvelle chaine laser inclut un tel filtre dans une configuration en double CPA dont les performances finales visées sont les suivantes : 10 mJ, 20 fs, C = 1011 et CEP = 200 mrad rms. Le schéma d'étirement/compression a fait l'objet d'une étude détaillée pour permettre un étirement élevé (50 ps) tout en restant compact pour préserver la stabilité CEP. La configuration adoptée consiste en un étireur verre, un filtre acousto-optique dispersif programmable et un compresseur "grismes". Le mémoire présente enfin les perspectives de post-compression dans une fibre creuse remplie d'un gaz rare pour obtenir des impulsions de 5 mJ, 5 fs, C = 1011, CEP = 200 mrad rms à 1 kHz.

This thesis is focused on the application of statistical learning methods for the temperature prediction of an electronic component embedded in a radar. We study a simplified case of real systems, the system under study is limited to a single component mounted on a reduced cooling system. The first chapter is devoted to heat transfer modelisation. After presenting the major mechanisms of thermal agitation transmission, analytical and numerical models are studied. Using this knowledge, the second chapter offers a survey on the methods of temperature measurement, choosing the fittest according to the specifications and the constraints of the chosen application.Once databases have been established, we can use in the third chapter statistical learning techniques to build a dynamic model. After a brief reminder about the ins and outs of statistical modeling, four families of methods willbe presented : linear models, neural networks, dynamic bayesian networks and support vector machines (SVM).The fourth chapter is an opportunity to present a novel method of modeling. Indeed, after a presentation of themethods for the identification of state representation, we see how to take into account theoretical apriorism during learning of this model type, ie a stability constraint., Cette thèse s’intéresse à l’application des méthodes d’apprentissage statistique pour la prédiction de température d’un composant électronique présent dans un radar. On étudie un cas simplifié des systèmes réels, le système étudié se limitant à un seul composant monté sur un système de refroidissement réduit. Le premier chapitre est consacré à la modélisation thermique. Après avoir présenté les principaux modes de transmission de l’agitation thermique, les modèles analytiques et numériques qui en découlent sont étudiés. En utilisant cette connaissance,le deuxième chapitre propose de choisir dans les méthodes de mesures les plus adaptées aux spécifications et aux contraintes de l’application choisie. Une fois que les bases de données ont été établies, nous pouvons utiliser dans le troisième chapitre les techniques de l’apprentissage statistique pour construire un modèle dynamique. Après un bref rappel sur les tenants et les aboutissants de la modélisation statistique, quatre familles de méthodes seront présentées : les modèles linéaires, les réseaux de neurones, les réseaux bayésiens dynamiques et les machines à vecteur support (SVM). Enfin, le quatrième chapitre est l’occasion de présenter une méthode de modélisation originale.En effet, après avoir détaillé la mise en oeuvre des méthodes d’identification de représentation d’état, nous verrons comment prendre en compte des a priori théoriques au cours de l’apprentissage de ce type de modèle, à savoir une contrainte de stabilité.

There has been a very strong development of the sensors based on surface plasmon resonance during the last thirty years, mostly for biological and biomedical applications. If the first experiments in this field were carried out at the beginning of the 20t century, it would have been necessary to wait for the end of the sixties to see the first devices performing accurate measurements of the refractive indices of gas and liquid samples. Indeed, the surface plasmon resonance phenomenon allows to measure refractive index variations with a high sensitivity that is hardly obtained with other optical measurement techniques. The basic principle consists of exciting the free electrons of a metallic layer with light, which induces the formation of a surface wave called surface plasmon. This resonant phenomenon depends on the wavelength of the excitation light and the refractive indices of the metallic layer and the material located close to the metallic layer. A variation of the refractive index of the latter induces a variation of the resonance condition, which allows to realize optical sensors designed to measure determined samples. An appropriate calibration allows to set a relationship between the variation of the concentration of the sample and the measured refractive index value. Among the various parameters that describe the performances of the sensor, one of the most important is the sensitivity. It is possible to demonstrate that the excitation wavelength has an impact on the sensitivity of the system : the latter increases if the measured sample has an absorption peak at a wavelength close to the excitation wavelength. The main goal of this thesis is to explore this sensitivity enhancement technique based on the absorption properties of the probed medium. A proof-of-principle is experimentally demonstrated with an optical setup constituted of laser sources working in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum. However, many materials have absorption peaks located in the mid-infrared range due to their fundamental molecular vibrations. Therefore, the realization of a plasmonic sensor working in the mid-infrared could allow to measure these materials with an increased sensitivity. To the best of our knowledge, surface plasmon resonance based sensors have never been developed above the near-infrared. This thesis presents for the first time the design and realization of a plasmonic sensor working in the mid-infrared range able to measure refractive index variations of gas and liquids samples. Even if the optical sources, components and detectors designed for the mid-infrared are clearly different from the ones designed for the visible range, it has been possible to successfully realize two systems working in the mid-infrared range during this project. The first is able to perform gas measurements. As the excitation wavelength depends on the measured sample, it was necessary to select a laser source that had a wavelength located close to the absorption peak of the gas under measurement. For this purpose, we designed a plasmonic sensor working at a 4.4 µm wavelength able to measure carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbing at 4.3 µm. It has been demonstrated that the experimental sensitivity of this system is five times higher than the theoretical sensitivity obtained with a system working in the visible range at a 633 nm wavelength. The second has been conceived to measure liquid samples in order to measure variations of concentration of CO2 dissolved in water. If measurements of refractive index variations (without using the sensitivity enhancement technique) could be performed successfully with variations of concentration of alcohol in water, further work is necessary to get decisive results for CO2 dissolved in water. This project was carried out in collaboration with an industrial partner in order to take into account some industrial constraints during the development of the sensor. Therefore, particular care has been taken in order to design a system that is compact, mechanically robust, without any mechanical moving parts, cheap and easily reproducible. The technological development presented in this thesis finds many applications mainly in the chemical, biological and biomedical fields. Indeed, many proteins show absorption peaks in the mid-infrared. It could be possible to measure their concentration or the modification of their properties – like their composition or structure – with an increased sensitivity. The interest of surface plasmons is that the measurement is not a transmission-based technique, but rather a "reflection-based technique", as the light does not go through the gas or liquid sample. This measurement technique is also adapted for high volume samples that are present in industrial production processes like water or soft drink quality control.

The existing texture classification methods are generally based on a parameter extraction stage followed by a classifier stage . Using this kind of method,for an operational application requires to take into account the risk of classes mixture in the parameters space . We propose to take profit of Gagalowicz conjecture in order ta minimise this risk . The conjecture provides us with a set of parameters which totally describe the texture. We show that a connectionnist classifier is able to deal efficiently with these parameters., La plus grande partie des méthodes de classification de textures existantes consiste à alimenter un classifieur par un ensemble de paramètres caractéristiques calculés localement sur l'image texturée. La mise en œuvre de ces méthodes dans le cadre d'applications opérationnelles suppose la prise en compte d'un élément important : le risque de confusion de classes dans l'espace paramétrique. Pour éviter ce problème, nous proposons d'exploiter la conjecture de Gagalowicz, qui nous fournit un ensemble de paramètres suffisants pour caractériser totalement la texture. Nous montrons qu'un classifieur connexionniste est capable d'exploiter efficacement ces paramètres.

In principe, the substitution of an [alpha]-hydrazino for an [beta]-amino acid residue in peptide analogues can give two different peptide bond surrogate : the hydrazide bond (CO-NH-NH), which is most often obtained, and the N-amino amide (CO-N(NH2) pepti-dominmec bond. A strategy for the selective synthesis of each surrogate has been worked out and applied to methythydrazine and to ethyl hydrazino acetate, a derivative of the hydrazinic analogue of the simplest coded [beta]-amino acid, namely glycine. These two modified their intrinsic structural properties, the interactions in which they can be involved, and their conformational impact on both folded structures. The conformational analyses have been carried out by IR and NMR spectro-scopy (solution state), and by X-ray diffraction on single crystals (solid state). A cyclic structural mimic of the [alpha]-turn, including an [beta]-hydrazino acid residue, has also been designed, Le travail présenté dans ce mémoire a obéi à une double finalité. Du point de vue chimique, il a été consacré à l'étude de la réactivité de la méthylhydrazine et de l'hydrazino acetate d'éthyle, un ester de l'analogue hydrazine de la glycine, vis-a-vis des réactions de n-protection et de couplage utilisées en synthèse peptidique. Les résultats en ont été appliqués à la synthèse de molécules dérivées de deux peptides connus pour leur propension à adopter les repliements beta et gamma, ainsi que de précurseurs linéaires de mines structuraux du repliement beta. En second lieu, et du point de vue structural, nous avons mesuré à l'aide de la diffraction des rayons x, de la spectroscopie IR et de la RMN, les perturbations conformationnelles induites dans un enchainement peptidique par l'introduction des deux liens peptidomimétiques hydrazide et n-amino amide, ainsi que de leurs dérivés n-acyles. En plus de leur impact sur les structures propres aux peptides, nous avons mis en évidence et caractérisé des conformations particulières des résidus alpha-hydrazino acides. Ces données sont fort utiles pour la conception de mines moléculaires pseudopeptidiques sur la base de critères structuraux

Single crystals and powdered samples of vivianite Fe3(PO4)2.8H2O have been investigated using infrared spectroscopy. A detailed theoretical study enables the identification of the main vibrational modes related to the water molecules. The polarized infrared reflectivity of a cleavage plate of vivianite has been studied for various orientations. Knowledge of the electrical dipole positions, leads to the assignment of the observed bands : ν3(WI)=3125 cm-1 ; ν',(WII)=3260 cm-1 ; ν'3(WII)=3475 cm-1 ; ν2=1620 cm-1 in agreement with the site symmetry method expectations. It is thus possible to correlate these spectra with the infrared absorption data obtained for powdered samples of vivianites in various stages of oxidation. Static and dynamical disorders are shown., Les spectres infrarouges du domaine des bandes de l'eau réalisés sur des monocristaux et des poudres de vivianites naturelles, Fe3(PO4)2.8H2O, sont interprétés d'après les données structurales et une analyse par la méthode du site. The ability to detect substances or molecules with high sensitivity and to image objects with high resolution plays an important role in our everyday life as well as in advances in understanding fundamental phenomena. Optical techniques are generally highly beneficial for this purpose as they are intrinsically remote, non-invasive and exhibit superior sensitivity and resolution. In this context, it is thus not surprising that a wide range of sensing and imaging techniques have been developed in the past decades and are continuously the subject intense research. The performance of these methods depends dramatically on the type of light source that is used and it is therefore essential to tailor the light source properties to the intended method of application.A spectral region which has recently attracted a wide interest is the mid-infrared corresponding to the molecular fingerprint region and the atmospheric transparency window. This in turn has triggered renewed research effort into adapting existing technique to this particular region of the electromagnetic spectrum including the light sources and detection schemes. This thesis reports novel, proof-of-concept, broadband optical sensing and imaging techniques in the infrared using supercontinuum light, a class of light sources with unique properties. The techniques are experimentally demonstrated and their performances discussed.Specifically, the thesis demonstrate incoherent broadband cavity enhanced absorp- tion spectroscopy in the mid-infrared wavelength range from 3000 to 3450 nm. Multi-component gas detection with sub-ppm accuracy is achieved in this range, which constitutes the widest continuous detection range for this technique in the mid-infrared.Cantilever-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy in the mid-infrared is also demonstrated for the first time in this thesis. The approach is broadband and allows for higher photoacoustic signal intensity and enhanced signal-to-noise ratio as compared to conventional systems that use back-body radiation sources. These results offer novel perspective for photoacoustic detection opening the door to sensitive broadband and compact analysers in the mid-infrared spectral region.Exploiting the shot-to-shot fluctuations of an incoherent supercontinuum and the recent progress in ultrafast real-time spectral measurement techniques, the thesis finally reports on a novel proof-of-concept correlation sensing and imaging method in the form of spectral-domain ghost imaging. The method is fast, scan-free, and offer new opportunities for remote sensing in scattering and absorbing media, or in spectral regions where sensitive detectors are lacking. Application of this technique to broadband spectroscopic measurements gases as well as for interferometric imaging of physical objects is demonstrated. One can legitimately expect that the work presented in this thesis will foster new ideas and developments for optical sensing and imaging.; Les méthodes de mesure optiques sont très performantes avec une sensibilité et une résolution généralement supérieure aux autres techniques, et elles possèdent aussi l’avantage d’être sans contact et non invasives. Cette thèse introduit plusieurs nouvelles techniques de détection optique et d'imagerie basées sur l’utilisation de sources super continuum dans l’infrarouge.Les propriétés uniques de ce type de source lumineuse, en particulier leur large bande spectrale combinée à une cohérence spatiale parfaite,permettent d’obtenir des performances supérieures en terme de résolution ou de sensibilité.Les techniques proposées sont expérimentalement démontrées et leurs performances caractérisées.La thèse démontre une technique de spectroscopie par absorption en cavité résonnante ainsi qu’une technique de spectroscopie par effet photo-acoustique, pour la première fois dans l’infrarouge moyen. La thèse introduit un nouveau concept de détection et d'imagerie par corrélations,équivalent à l’imagerie fantôme mais dans le domaine spectral, et son application à la spectroscopie par absorption ainsi qu'à la tomographie par cohérence optique d'objets physiques sont démontrées. Les techniques proposées et étudiées dans cette thèse ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives pour la détection sensible et l’imagerie dans l’infrarouge. De manière plus générale,les concepts introduits étant génériques, ils peuvent être étendus à d’autres régions du spectre électromagnétique et les travaux présentés sont amenés à stimuler de nouvelles idées et de nouveaux développements pour les techniques de détection et d'imagerie optiques.
