Therefore, PT Lunaria Annua Teknologi decided to create a Bond Coin application to reach all groups of people who want to invest and can take advantage of investment returns according to their wishes.The methodology used during the creation of this application is Scrum. Scrum is used as a framework because this methodology is suitable for small teams, clear application specifications and Scrum allows iteration and incremental of a product requirement that will be found during product development. Bond coins make it easier for investors to conduct checks on Government Securities purchased, including transparency, security and efficiency in transactions.

Ensuring effective management of IT services requires well-defined terminology. There is no unity among scientists on this issue. The purpose of the article is to reveal the concept, main characteristics and types of IT services that have an impact on their accounting. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: analysis and synthesis, logical generalization, contrastive comparison, graphical method. Based on the analysis of scientific works, which raised the issue of interpretation of IT services, the main characteristics of this concept are identified. Disclosure of the essence of IT services is impossible without a description of their classification. The article summarizes the types of IT services provided in the works of scientists. It is proposed to classify them according to the following characteristics: method of provision (IT consulting, IT outsourcing, software development, system integration); object of provision (services related to software; technical support services; services related to the processing and storage of electronic information). It is established that the IT service for accounting purposes meets the characteristics inherent in all services, and has its own specific characteristics. The list of such features has been expanded and presented as follows: immateriality; inseparability from the source; indistinctness; receiving income from the performer or incurring costs; ensuring a useful result for the consumer of IT services; availability of special software and hardware for the service recipient; insensitivity of the IT service until the recipient receives the final version of the IT product; uncertainty of the quality of IT services before its implementation; difficulty in calculating the final price.

Many Hungarian small and medium enterprises are facing problems using management methodologies. Strategic management consulting is a common type of business consulting and is one of the most important in the field. The article analyses two previous Hungarian surveys with the aim of better understanding the market. Two surveys are compared with each other and the size of the Hungarian strategic consulting market is calculated based on secondary data. Trends and problems in the industry are also described briefly. The findings of this paper help to better understand what is happening in the industry.KEYWORDS: strategy, management, consulting, Hungary.

Using an in-depth qualitative case study design, focusing on a significant global technology consulting multinational enterprise’s (MNEs) subsidiary in India, this research analyses interview, documentary and observational data for insights on the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) in human resource management (HRM). By developing HRM-focused, AI-enabled applications, the MNE improved HR cost-effectiveness and offered a hyper-personalised and individualised employee experiences. Employing the theoretical lenses of individualisation of HRM practices, AI-mediated social exchange, job signalling and person-organisation fit theories, this research explains employees’ experience of HRM practices and its impact on their attitudes and behaviours. Ten interviews were conducted with global technology leaders, champions of innovation, senior HR leaders and employees, including those engaged in the design and implementation of HR-focused AI applications. Findings suggest the use of AI-enabled bots, virtual, digital and personal assistants for carrying out a range of HRM tasks, such as routine, analytical, interactional and communicative tasks involving employees. A diverse set of HRM-focussed AI applications operant at this MNE contributed to its HR cost-effectiveness and enhanced the overall employee experience, thereby resulting in improved levels of employee commitment, satisfaction and reduced employee turnover behaviour. Implications for research and practice are also discussed.

This study examines the problems that occur when a company works on a project, aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of the application of project management applications in order to assist the company in presenting information about the project being undertaken or information officers and clients. The study used case studies at PT. Seatech Infosys Considering systems that still use simple data processing tools such as Microsoft Excel, ranging from data logging, data storage to report generation. Thus, it is possible to have errors in recording and less accurate reports are made. The development of the system with the method used is waterfall method. The result of this analysis is to declare that this application is one solution to overcome existing problems, to achieve an effective and efficient activities in supporting the project activities.

The pharmaceutical industry has became particularly vulnerable to cybercrime, as the counterfeit pharmaceuticals are a growing and profitable business for fraudsters, who perform these cyber attacks for money, fame or for the politics, eventually it may lead to brand damage or reputational damage, since once a pharmaceutical organization is exposed in the media for breaching data, it can be difficult to recover public trust. In America, cybercriminals stole 8.3 million patient records from the Virginia Prescription Monitoring Program and demanded a $10m (approximately £6m) ransom. There is a persistent need to protect drug recipes and researches as those companies are rich in IP, but first they should know where their data is, as the data is often scattered across unstructured sources, having processes and procedures to identify, report and remediate that data and also diminish data sharing, via electronic health records, personal health records, insurance portals and prescription sites, it comprises personal and sensitive information, as well as drug recipes and research data. Detica (an international business and technology consulting firm owned by BAE Systems) have developed five steps for cybercrime risk appraisal: Establish potential attackers and threats; Assess the likely target of attacks (i.e. IP, customer databases, etc.); Determine the purpose of the attack; Assess the impact of an attack on the organization; and finally, Identify which assets are high impacts and require prioritizing in terms of protection. The pharmaceutical company Roche has affirmed that it was hit by a Winnti cyber-attack in 2019, thought to be supported by the Chinese government; The Company has stated that no sensitive information has been lost. Bayer was also targeted by Winnti attacks last year, in 2017; Merck & Co has its active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) production and some R&D systems seriously disrupted by the NotPetya attack, highlighting the need for cyber-security for pharmaceutical companies. A range of other German companies were also affected by the attack.

This paper explains the use of data mining and fuzzy logic in optimizing decision making for employee recruitment, especially in IT Consultant company. This method addresses the company's need to recruit employees with more objective and accurate by utilizing historical data to find patterns of potential employees for the company. First, classification will be carried out using data mining to determine the predictor attributes of potential employees. These predictor attributes will then be used to arrange fuzzy rule base and fuzzy logic structure which will be used to prioritize employees to be accepted. The results obtained will prioritize employees who are recruited objectively scientifically.

The purpose of this study is to measure the level of maturity of a company's information technology based on the process of maintenance, management and the extent to which companies obey the applicable laws and regulations. The research methodology is a qualitative method, with data collection through observation and interviews with informants. The results of this study are the level of maturity the company and provide advice to companies so that the application of information technology can be better, effective and efficient.

Information technology is supporting business in the company, so IT risks can occur at any time. Seeing this problem, management / managing risk is the right way to minimize the potential losses incurred. Therefore, in this study the authors conducted risk management of information technology using COBIT 5. The measurement results of capability level that PT Global Infotech Solutions is at level 1 in managing risk according to the APO12 domain. There are several recommendations given so that risk management can run well.

IT consulting companies deal with the digital transformation of their clients’ business and services. However, the IT consulting business itself and, in particular, the IT consulting services provided, have so far only been digitized to a limited extent. Despite the increased research interest in digital transformation, the requirements for digitalization of IT consulting services are hardly known.This paper reports results from an exploratory study that used focus groups (FGs) of IT consulting practitioners to identify their expectations and requirements for digitalized IT consulting services and digital IT consulting platforms. Our study revealed 79 requirements and expectations that our FG participants deemed important for the successful digitalization of services in their organizations. Our findings are related to the structure of digital IT consulting services, the services provisioning process, actor collaboration, user experience and guidance, the sales and marketing process, technical conditions, and digital consulting asset protection and security.The central contributions of our paper are (1) the elicitation of requirements and expectations of IT consulting practitioners for digital IT consulting services and platforms, and (2) a catalog of functional, non-functional as well as technical requirements that can be used to develop scientific artifacts that could serve as digital transformation solutions and give impulses to IT consulting practitioners striving to digitalize their business.

The necessity of moving to agile or hybrid methodologies and advisability of broader involvement of quantitative and mathematical approaches for justification of decision-making in resource management of IT projects require appropriate methodological support. In the current paper certain mathematical tools are suggested that will improve the strategy of resource management in current context, namely, methods of developing a system of indicators for human resource evaluation (10 key indicators were outlined), economic and mathematical models of optimization for the project team members selection, functions distribution in the team, and learning processes. To substantiate management decisions on teams building, a number of mathematical programming methods, namely, various modifications of the transportation model of linear programming and the assignment model are offered. The outlined approaches to resource management strategy improvement in IT projects allowed to produce beneficial solutions for the IT Consulting company in terms of updating approaches to IT project management using contemporary hybrid SAP Activate methodology and optimal economic and mathematical models. Also project implementation was structured with the help of agile methodology. The methodology of forming the team or professional ratings based on project team members evaluation was tested. The approach to project teams building using agile Scrum methodology through solving a number of multi-criteria discrete linear programming models was developed. The choice of the best project team option was made based on the method of lists. The ways of human resource strategy improvement in an IT project through introducing of new methods and models for project management decision-making were outlined.

We present a case study of Truewind, a mid-size IT consulting company whose distribution of employees is significantly more gender-balanced than the norm. Whereas worldwide employment of women in the ICT sector hardly reaches 20%, women make up almost one third of the developers of the main office of this company. We conducted a case study to gain an understanding of which factors are perceived to contribute to such a gender distribution, and how its employees see it as an advantage. A survey revealed that, independently of gender, employees value gender diversity, pointing out advantages on teamwork, organizational climate, and critical thinking. Further, we collected factors that contribute to the retention of women, which in great part refer to organizational climate and work conditions. Up to a quarter of the IT consultants of Truewind have majored in non-ICT fields, changing their career path mostly from other STEM disciplines.

The internet of things refers to devices that are connected to the Internet and communicate with each other providing many benefits to users, but they could also violate their privacy. The main objective of this study is to analyse the factors that influence employees’ intention to use wearable devices at the workplace. In this study, a review of the literature regarding acceptance of technologies and influencing factors such as risk and trust is used to develop a conceptual model. The proposed conceptual model was tested using a survey conducted among employees of an IT consulting firm, with a total of 76 participants. Partial least square path and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference modelling were used to validate and predict these factors influence on users’ intention to use these devices. The findings indicate that the perceived usefulness of a wearable IoT device provides the strongest motivation for individuals to use it at the workplace. Further results show that applying the ANFIS approach helps improve the predictability of user intention to use IoT devices. Stakeholder satisfaction is the main motive of the software industry. Consumer and producer satisfaction means achieving a software-quality product. There are so many techniques, methods, and models are present for the software-quality prediction. Computational intelligence is also playing a crucial role in the prediction of quality characteristics. This paper gives a new optimal mathematical model for the prediction of the degree of stakeholder satisfaction (Q). Optimal models validate the real data using the relationship impacts of various quality attributes. It uses the equations of constraints. The optimal model gives the maximum and minimum values for Q. Constraints constitutes of software quality characteristics. In the given case study example, the idle value of Q is 30 but using optimal model it gives the maximum optimal value of Q = 22.788020075 for xLAB IT consulting services on their project In-Reg Molecule Registration using the MATLAB. It means if there is any change in the value of any software quality characteristics, then it will decrease the value of Q. It proves that the given result is an optimal solution.

The modern board game scene has exploded in popularity in recent years. Many games are released every year and have a wide range of size and rules complexity. I have found that having a small supply of these modern games has been an invaluable relationship building tool. As an IT consultant for a mid-sized department I have a open policy to play games over lunch with anyone who requests a game. I keep a curated supply of games that take 15-45 minutes in my office. These games have led to many sessions playing and chatting with the professors and grad students in my department. As a new employee these sessions helped me establish peoples names and responsibilities, but they also have allowed me to form friendships and a welcome decompression time in the middle of the day. My talk will be focused on the above with more specifics of how I make it work in practice.

The main reasons for which organizations resort to IT consulting are determined. The relevance of the use of cloud technologies, as an optimal technological solution, which makes it possible to obtain a complex infrastructure of the company, has been proved. The developed diagnostic algorithm for consulting projects for international industries. The introduction of the «Smart IT-consulting» platform, which is an IT consulting service exchange and a decentralized labor exchange based on blockchain technology, is proposed. The main proposed exchanges are cloud technologies. The main advantages that a company can use in using the exchange of IT consulting services have been determined. The given calculation of the cash flow of users of the project «Smart IT-consulting».

The already high demand on IT consulting got a boost thanks to the numerous efforts of companies to digitize their business, especially facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite a turnover of more than 7 billion Euros just in Germany in 2020, an increasing amount of companies seeking advice in IT consulting every year, the number of scientific publications addressing IT consulting from a business perspective remains sparse. To this end, this master thesis conducts a scientific case study on a development and project-oriented IT-consulting company in Germany. Aiming to develop a solution for the organizational challenges with the highest need for action. First, the existing literature is reviewed. This is followed by an analysis of individual interviews conducted with employees and the management of the sample company. To develop a response to those challenges, this thesis uses, besides literature research the results of an expert interview conducted at W.L. Gore, a company that has become famous for their inconvenient lattice organization. The result of this thesis is a recommended course of action for the management of the IT consulting company to develop a strategy to optimize their organization iteratively to a decentralized form of organization that scales with an increasing number of employees. This study of one selected sample company may be seen as an invitation to conduct more scientific business research addressing different IT consulting companies.

Even though Lean principles have already been broadly applied to the manufacturing industry [1] , we cannot say the same regarding software development. The objective of this article is therefore to present a real experience where the Lean Kanban method [2] was applied by a software development team from an IT consulting firm. The team (7 people) is responsible for the maintenance of internal management applications at a large governmental organization (over 4,000 employees). It had to combine new evolutionary developments with corrective maintenance and incident resolution within the production area of 20 to 25 information systems with heterogeneous purposes and technologies.

Problems that occur at the Port Harbor Company are poor resource management, spending costs that exceed a predetermined budget and how to see the status of ongoing projects. Using Business Intelligence and the dashboard as a front end will help the project controller and resource management manage resources, manage project costs and monitor ongoing projects. In this study, the development and implementation of Business Intelligence and dashboards using the ASAP method are expected to be more structured and can solve the Port Harbor Company problem.

This is a story of a design science research project that started in one domain, petrochemical refineries, before extending into another, technology consulting. Across the two domains, the problem was scoped, defined and refined as one of supporting knowledge-intensive work that takes place over time and across locations with teams of specialists. Significant empirical work and design efforts in fields like knowledge management, collaborative work, and business process design have yet to provide clear paths to successful intervention in this problem. We relied on design science research (DSR) and action design research (ADR) methods as we worked to develop two context-specific solutions. One solution, SPA, used semantic analysis of operator procedures for organizations in petrochemical refining to generate meaningful instruction sets in support of collaborative work on the refinery floor. The other solution, ReKon, decomposed consulting templates into meaningful sections for technology consulting so knowledge workers could access these templates across project phases in response to new consulting assignments. Together, the two artifacts exemplify a key design principle: anchoring knowledge units, not task sequences, in concrete artifacts may improve knowledge workers’ ability to respond to emergent complexities in knowledge-intensive work. The research project revealed three primary lessons. First, the time-consuming tasks of stakeholder interaction and development of seemingly simple artifacts allowed us to surface the complexities of organizational knowledge work in these domains. Second, ongoing and intense reflection away from the project activities was necessary to appreciate the theoretical depth. Third, the messy nature of design continued to grate against the systematic approach suggested by research methods.

Digitalization is increasingly and broadly impacting on companies throughout all industries. To cope with digital transformation, organizations need specific IT skills and often face a bottleneck between required and existing capabilities. Thus, organizations revert to support from IT consultants. However, such collaborations need to create value so as to make client organizations future-proof in the long term. We therefore need a better understanding of how value is created in IT consulting projects. We build on service-dominant (S-D) logic as the theory base and evaluate our structural model, which explains IT consulting service value based on 77 matched pairs of IT consulting projects using structural equation modeling. We provide empirical support for the assumptions of S-D logic in the IT consulting industry and reveal determinants that significantly contribute to the overall IT consulting service value. Our results contribute to the ongoing discourse in the S-D logic literature and provide meaningful insights for practice.

Chatbots have attracted tremendous interest in recent years and are increasingly employed in form of enterprise chatbots (ECBs) (i.e., chatbots used in the explicit context of enterprise systems). Although ECBs substantially differ in their design requirements from, for example, more common and widely deployed customer service chatbots, only few studies exist that specifically investigate and provide guidance for the design of ECBs. To address this emerging gap, we accumulated existing design knowledge from previous studies and created a list of 26 design features (DFs) which we integrated into 6 design principles (DPs). Subsequently, 36 practitioners from an IT consulting company which are experienced in using ECBs evaluated the importance of the DPs and DFs following the Analytic Hierarchy Process method. Our results provide evidence that DPs and DFs promoting usability and flexibility are ranked more important than DPs and DFs promoting socialness and human likeness. These findings provide valuable insights, as they are partially contrary to some existing studies investigating the importance of social cues of chatbots in other domains. Overall, the identified lists of DPs and DFs and their importance rankings provide guidance for the design of ECBs and can serve as a basis for future research projects.

Because of the increase in the number and scope of information security incidents, proper management has recently gained importance for public and private organizations. Further challenges in this area have resulted from new regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS), as well as a tendency to outsource vital services to subcontractors. This study addresses the lack of empirical studies in the field and focuses on information security incident management at information technology (IT) consulting firms. Specifically, it examines challenges due to their exposed position and new regulations. The contribution of the paper is twofold. First, it provides valuable insight into the experiences and challenges of Swedish IT consulting firms. Second, it proposes criteria for classifying an information security incident that can equip decision-makers with a solid and assessable basis for incident management. The results emphasize further improvements in employee awareness, incident classification, and systemic governance, thereby integrating corporate policy making, information security incident management, and information system leadership.

For agriculture, IT-solutions are needed, developed for certain segments - plant growing, livestock, processing, production, etc. In order to increase the efficiency of agribusiness, in terms of reducing operating costs and production costs, the most promising direction is the application of management systems and optimization of production processes. In view of the fact that in agricultural enterprises there are often no specialists with the necessary skills for setting up and maintaining already established software solutions, there is a need to consult IT-consulting services. The functions of IT-consulting are as follows: - selection of software for solving specific problems of the agricultural enterprise; - training in working with special software;- adaptation of agricultural software to the needs of the enterprise. Employees in distributed organizations often engage in virtual work arrangements to accomplish day‐to‐day tasks. In turn, a lack of physical cues, challenges in establishing common ground with others and reduced face‐to‐face interaction each has the potential to hinder communication within an organization. Large multinational organizations may rely on transactive memory systems as a means of sharing knowledge and helping employees to accomplish day‐to‐day tasks. Research demonstrates that new information communication technology facilitates the development of transactive memory systems, but the role of transactive memory in virtual work arrangements is less studied. This article explores how dimensions of virtual work impact transactive memory systems. Data were collected from a large multinational organization that provides technology consulting services. Findings from this study demonstrate a clear relationship between the formation of transactive memory systems and the degree of geographic dispersion of employees. Moreover, the formation of transactive memory systems is negatively impacted by the diversity of teams' job functions. The use of internal information communication technology plays a positive role in influencing organizational memory when teams are geographically and functionally diverse. The results provide insight into how organizations can better utilize transactive memory systems to improve communication in virtual settings.

Academic consulting is an important and effective means of knowledge transfer between the public and private sectors. It offers opportunities for research application but also raises concerns over potentially negative consequences for academic research and its dissemination. For a sample of social, natural, and engineering science academics in Germany, and controlling for the selection into consulting, we investigate the effect of consulting with public and private sector organizations on research performance. While previous research suggested that consulting activities might come at the cost of reduced research output, our analysis provides a more nuanced picture. Public sector consulting comes with lower average citations, particularly for junior researchers. Moreover, engagement in consulting increases the probability to cease publishing research altogether, particularly for private sector consulting. The probability of exit from academic research increases with the intensity of consulting engagement for those at the start or towards the end of their academic career and in fields for which the public–private wage gap and opportunities for engagement in duties outside academia are higher. We draw lessons for research institutions and policy about the promotion of academic consulting.

Existing discourse on the research-practice gap underplays the role of practitioners and assumes that the existence of the gap is due primarily to deficiencies in theory. This conceptual paper problematizes this assumption and explores in practice why practitioners have not been able to harness and apply insights from organisation theory (OT) and information systems (IS) research . Drawing on the concept of knowledge boundaries, several key arguments are made. Firstly, a pragmatic knowledge boundary divides academics and practitioners. Secondly, the novelty of OT and IS research at this knowledge boundary hinders practitioners' ability to constructively assess it, which results in contradictions and discourages its application in practice. Finally, when academics and practitioners collaborate to promote deeper engagement, and when effective boundary-spanning objects are used, there are signs that the research-practice gap can be overcome. These arguments are illustrated through a case-study of employees in a medium-sized IT consulting company.

The authors present survey results from faculty at 44 universities on the role of student consulting projects in developing business students' critical thinking. They conclude that students can improve critical thinking by engaging in guided primary and secondary research to inform their business assumptions that underpin business planning and financial modeling in consulting projects. Results also suggest that instructors newer to the practice of using student consulting tend to emphasize objective results (e.g., application of disciplinary skills and research methods), whereas experienced users seem to focus on the subjective consulting process (e.g., managing client relationships and evaluating information quality and fit for the project).

International audience; IT consulting and engineering firms generally develop strategic knowledge for their clients based on their own competences in various business methods and processes. Knowledge and competences can be improved through collaborative research projects and further leveraged for their own strategic development. The aim of this paper is to build and experiment an organizational management tool within a consulting firm. The tool allows the creation of value and differentiation levers on the competitive market of research and innovation consultancy and illustrates how to benefit from internal research activities that can be viewed as intangible resources. In light of competence-based theory this work shows how strategic knowledge developed on an emerging field such as e-health can be rearranged into strategic processes in order to inspire a proactive strategic vision within a consulting firm.

As organizational security breaches increase, so too does the need to fully understand the human factors that lead to these breaches and take the necessary steps to minimize threats. The present study evaluates how three sets of employee characteristics demographic, company-specific, and skills-based predict an employee's likelihood of becoming a security breach victim. In order to move beyond traditional evaluations of security threats, which generally consider security threats individually, analyses in this paper approach security vulnerability from a more holistic approach to analyze four risk categories concurrently: phishing, passwords, bring your own device BYOD, and company-supplied laptops. Findings from a survey of 250 employees at a medium-sized American information technology IT consulting firm identify higher-risk employees across the four risk areas and provide new insights into the challenges organizations face when trying to ensure the protection of company data.

This paper presents the results of a combined quantitative–qualitative study that explored the learning patterns of IT consultants involved in the implementation of Enterprise Systems (ES). The study was carried out in a multinational IT consulting company that specialises in Enterprise System consulting and has offices in Germany, the UK, the US, Poland and China. The study revealed the preferred learning pattern of IT consultants, which starts with introductory learning, preferably executed in the form of instruction-based training, followed by the preparation of a prototype to process and sustain the knowledge, and continues with hands-on learning during real-life projects. Learning during projects was identified as the most important knowledge source, as it is the only way actually to gain experience. The experience itself was considered to be the final outcome of the learning process, and it is the main asset of a consulting enterprise.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the major determinants that influence the management teachers to practice management consulting. The second objective of this research is to understand how the experience in management consultancy leads to value addition in their class room teaching. Design/methodology/approach To address the first research objective, focus group discussions were conducted with management teachers practicing consultancy. These results were used to generate items for the questionnaire. Factor analysis performed on the data revealed six determinants influencing management teachers to engage in consulting activity. To address the second research objective, focus group discussions with MBA graduates were used to comprehend how teachers with management consulting experience enrich the pedagogy. Findings The major findings of the study suggest that the determinants influencing management teachers to practice consulting are: improving competencies, furthering professional advancement, accruing strategic and financial benefit, enabling holistic development. Through study 2, the authors found out that management teachers add value in pedagogy by forging corporate world connection through real-time examples, enable critical thinking by breaking established paradigms, effective classroom delivery through storytelling, etc., and lending student support by assuming a mentor’s role. Practical implications This study found that faculty consulting reduces the perceived gap between the industry and academia and it also leads to effective class room teaching. Originality/value The study is the first attempt to empirically test the determinants influencing management teachers to practice consultancy services and qualitatively assess how the consultancy experience enriches the in-class performance.

The case briefly describes the history of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) under Ross Perot and GM before turning to the beginning of a tumultuous decade in the late 1990s. As the turn of the century approached, EDS made critical strategic missteps such as missing opportunities in the Internet space, overlooking the onset of client-server computing, and failing to obtain major Y2K-related projects. The company attempted a turnaround by replacing the CEO with Dick Brown, whose leadership helped streamline the sprawling company. Despite initial successes, Brown's tenure ultimately ended in failure, due largely to his failure to recognize the growing Indian market and his willingness to buy business at the expense of the company's margin. The disastrous multibillion-dollar Navy & Marine Corp Intranet contract typified the type of high-profile transactions that Brown pursued, often boosting EDS's stock price in the short term while eroding its cash flow short term and its profitability over the long term. EDS management went through several stages of the turnaround process: the blinded phase, the inactive phase, and the faulty action phase, until Michael Jordan replaced Brown as CEO and enacted a three-tiered operational, strategic, and financial turnaround.EDS's near-decade of turnaround efforts takes students through every phase of the turnaround process and demonstrates that even initially successful turnaround efforts can become distracted, rendering them ineffective. The case will show both a failed turnaround and a subsequent successful one, while adding an international component with respect to EDS's overlooking an important, growing Indian market.

Modern business is characterized by risk and uncertainty, and such an environment is reflected in the decisions taken by managers. On the other hand, management consulting is one of the most important management techniques developed over the last fifty years. The secondary effect of this invention is the rapid development of new frameworks, tools, and techniques improving the operations in a number of companies. Exposure of consulting organizations to varying combinations of business circumstances and experiences of different companies have allowed for the accumulation of valuable knowledge and business experience. From this coupling, or interaction of knowledge and experience of consulting companies, on the one hand and the needs of management companies to recognize their role and hire consultants, on the other hand, developed the importance of financial consulting and auditing. Rational management processes cannot be imagined without reliable information provided by the audit, especially as the strategic management includes the control phase. The importance and relationship between consulting and management in companies that do business according to modern principles is a central topic of consideration in this paper.

Today IT consulting services are neither digitalized nor standardized widely. They are conducted with the help of consultants and are fully based on these professionals’ knowledge and experience. Thus, the results of IT consulting initiatives often differ considerably. With the increasing demands of digitalization and globalization, new and relevant challenges arise within the IT consulting sector. Asset- or platform-based approaches can be considered as a possible means to address these challenges in the current consulting research literature. We believe that these approaches require significantly more research related to formal description of IT consulting services. Formally described Digital IT Consulting Products should be the foundation of computer-based interpretation and a future digital IT consulting service system based management and provisioning. This Ph.D. research project addresses this topic first by conducting a structured literature review to understand the state-of-the-art in IT consulting service digitalization and formal service description. This is followed by focus group interviews conducted with experts from the IT consulting sector in order to understand stakeholder requirements and to be able to design a formal description language. The formal description language is validated by implementation and testing of a prototyped digital IT consulting service system and its experimental analysis.

The R&D of Autonomous Transportation Systems (ATS) is hindered by the lack of industrial feedback and client's knowledge about technological possibilities. In addition, because of intellectual properties (IP) issues, technology consulting companies can't directly reuse developed functionalities with different clients. In this context, requirements reuse technics presents a good way to capitalize on their knowledge while avoiding IP issues. However, the literature review on requirements reuse processes doesn't propose methods to the application of reuse processes with little information about the system's operational context. In this paper, we present a semi-automated requirement reuse and recycle process for ATS R&D. The process helps designers’ copes with the lack of inputs from the clients. Requirements candidates are retrieved from a database using Natural Language Processing and traceability propagation. It is applied to 3 use cases with inputs less than 5 concepts from the client's needs. The results validate its efficiency through number requirements retrieved and the analysis time consumption

Completing a closed-circuit television (CCTV) project on time and within budget is not an easy thing. Scheduling and planning in the CCTV project hold an essential role in predicting the aspects of time and project costs. The success or failure of a project can be viewed on the initial process of CCTV planning, including projecting the crash because of the absence of optimization in terms of plan which led to the in the effectively of the project. This research aims to find the trade-off between cost and optimal time required to complete the project of CCTV by using Critical Path Method (CPM) and Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT). CPM and PERT are used to make working time and cost of the project more effective and efficient. The evaluation of this research uses data about the project time and expenses from computer vision (CV) Aditya IT Consultant, a software house based in Kediri, East Java. The expected duration is 73 days, and the normal cost is IDR 207,858,300. However, by using CPM and PERT, the optimal time is 48 days with the price IDR 168,608,300. The conclusion is CPM and PERT make the working time and cost of a project effective and efficient by reducing the completion time and cost up to 25 days and IDR 39,250,000.

The goal of this research is to identify, analyze and design an effective knowledge management system for XYZ company in Indonesia. As the growing of consultant company in Indonesia, XYZ company need to keep the valuable knowledge, so they can use it in the future. The analyze and design method used by this paper are: Wiig Knowledge Management Cycle, Nonaka and Takeuchi SECI Model, and object-oriented analysis and design. And for the data collection, the authors did the interview with the enterprise solution manager and observation in the company to capture company daily activities. The results are the knowledge management system implemented to capture, manage and use the company knowledge work more effective. We can conclude that the knowledge management system can help the company to maintain their knowledge.
