In this article, the sheeting of pseudoplastic material under non-isothermal conditions has been studied. It is an excellent forecasting instrument for sheeting, where the thickness of the sheet is relatively thin in relation to the roll size, according to theoretical study based on the lubrication theory. At the calendering process, the detachment point is determined by taking the material parameter’s impact into account. The governing equations are derived for the constitutive equation of the Carreau fluid with momentum and energy equations. Suitable non-dimensional parameters are used to develop the non-linear partial differential expressions into ordinary differential systems. The maximum pressure, roll separating force, normal stress effect, and power delivered to the fluid by rolls are among the engineering-relevant quantities that are determined. Moreover, a graphic analysis is conducted to examine the impact of different material parameters on the temperature profile, pressure gradient, velocity profile, and pressure distribution. The results specific mechanism is explained in depth.

This study discusses legal protection for banks with the status of BPS BPIH in curbing haj bailout financing that has passed the provisions of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, in Article 12A paragraph (3) of the Regulation of the Minister of Religion Number 24 of 2016 which formulates “In the event that there are still haj bailout funds has not been resolved after the deadline as referred to in paragraph (2) the portion number for Pilgrims is still active ”. This study uses a normative juridical method with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The result is legal protection for BPS BPIH in obtaining its right to obtain certainty of repayment of funds for financing the status of the portion of the hajj is still active as regulated in Article 12A paragraph (3) of the Regulation of the Minister of Religion Number 24 of 2016. The formulation of the settlement of haj bailout financing through the fulfillment of formal requirements the formation of legislation by involving the financial services authority in the company, and the material requirements, namely by accommodating the rights of all stakeholders of haj bailout financing.

High speed development of the mining industry has lead to serious heavy metal pollution problems around mining areas in China, such as contaminating soil, and threatening the health of ecosystems and local residents. Plants long-term grown in mining areas largely show high adaptive capacity to the environment and facilitate the reclamation of degraded lands. In this study, we tested whether and how nitrogen form affect the adaptive capacity to soil contamination between legume (Robinia pseudoacacia) and nonlegume (Rhus chinensis) plants, typical phytoremediation species for soil environments polluted by heavy metals in China. All growth parameters and leaf catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD) of plant species were significantly greater in control than in contamination soil, in legume than in nonlegume, and in 50% NO3− (nitrate)+ 50% NH4+ (ammonium) and 100% NH4+ than in without and 100% NO3− treatments. The negative effect of soil contamination on all growth parameters was significantly stronger in nonlegume than in legume plant. Legume plant produced greater total mass, root mass and leaf mass in 50% NO3− + 50% NH4+ and 100% NH4+. Furthermore, the positive effect was not influenced by soil contamination. The greater physiological response to soil contamination in nonlegume plant and mixed addition of NO3− and NH4+ greatly relieved heavy metal stress on plants, especially in nonlegume plant. Mixed addition of NO3− and NH4+ greatly increased transfer factor for Pb and Zn and the positive effect significantly greater in nonlegume than in legume plant. Mixed addition of NO3− and NH4+ greatly increased the performance and adaptation of legume in contamination environment. To some extent, multiple N form addition in soil contamination environment may facilitate high plant adaption in phytoremediation, and using legume plants with mixed addition of NO3− and NH4+ is largely an important restoration mode for degraded mining areas.

Germins (GERs) and germin-like proteins (GLPs) play important roles in responses to various stresses; however, their function is still not fully understood. Significant insight into their function can be obtained by analyzing their promoters. In the present study, the 5' upstream promoters (1000 bp) of 43 Asian rice (Oryza sativa var. Japonica) GLP genes were retrieved from the Plant Ensemble, based on the Rice Annotation Project database (RAP-DB). Phylogenetic analysis via MEGA6 showed a narrow genetic background (0.2%) with a Tajima neutrality value (π) of 0.69. Overall, 4234 transcription factor (TF) binding sites (TFBSs) were found on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11 and 12 via “MatInspector” from 90 different TF families using a total of 444 families. Common TFs and DiAlign analyses showed that arabidopsis homeobox protein (AHBP), MYB-like proteins (MYBL) and vertebrate TATA-box-binding protein (VTBP) were the most abundant, common and evolutionarily conserved elements in the upstream region from 0 to -800. Finding their mutual interaction via Farmworker analysis uncovered three new cisregulatory modules (VTBP_VTBP, MYBS_MYBS, and AHBP_VTBP), which appear to be decisive for OsGLP regulation. In silico functional analysis via ModelInspector revealed 77 cis-regulatory modules, each comprised of two elements, among which DOFF_OPAQ_03 and GTBX_MYCL_01 were the most frequent and mostly found on chromosome 8 and 12, indicating that the combinatorial interaction of these elements has a fundamental role in various biological processes. The study revealed the importance of these elements in regulating OsGLP expression that will help in predicting the role of these genes in various stresses, and can have application in biotechnology.

Waterborne pathogens affect all waters globally and proceed to be an ongoing concern. Previous methods for detection of pathogens consist of a high test time and a high sample consumption, but they are very expensive and require specialist operators. This study aims to develop a monitoring system capable of identifying waterborne pathogens with particular characteristics using a microfluidic device, optical imaging and a classification algorithm to provide low-cost and portable solutions. This paper investigates the detection of small size microbeads (1–5 µm) from a measured water sample by using a cost-effective microscopic camera and computational algorithms. Results provide areas of opportunities to decrease sample consumption, reduce testing time and minimize the use of expensive equipment.

Glass-façade-cleaning robots are an emerging class of service robots. This kind of cleaning robot is designed to operate on vertical surfaces, for which tracking the position and orientation becomes more challenging. In this article, we have presented a glass-façade-cleaning robot, Mantis v2, who can shift from one window panel to another like any other in the market. Due to the complexity of the panel shifting, we proposed and evaluated different methods for estimating its orientation using different kinds of sensors working together on the Robot Operating System (ROS). For this application, we used an onboard Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), wheel encoders, a beacon-based system, Time-of-Flight (ToF) range sensors, and an external vision sensor (camera) for angular position estimation of the Mantis v2 robot. The external camera is used to monitor the robot’s operation and to track the coordinates of two colored markers attached along the longitudinal axis of the robot to estimate its orientation angle. ToF lidar sensors are attached on both sides of the robot to detect the window frame. ToF sensors are used for calculating the distance to the window frame; differences between beam readings are used to calculate the orientation angle of the robot. Differential drive wheel encoder data are used to estimate the robot’s heading angle on a 2D façade surface. An integrated heading angle estimation is also provided by using simple fusion techniques, i.e., a complementary filter (CF) and 1D Kalman filter (KF) utilizing the IMU sensor’s raw data. The heading angle information provided by different sensory systems is then evaluated in static and dynamic tests against an off-the-shelf attitude and heading reference system (AHRS). It is observed that ToF sensors work effectively from 0 to 30 degrees, beacons have a delay up to five seconds, and the odometry error increases according to the navigation distance due to slippage and/or sliding on the glass. Among all tested orientation sensors and methods, the vision sensor scheme proved to be better, with an orientation angle error of less than 0.8 degrees for this application. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed techniques in this orientation tracking, which has never applied in this specific application of cleaning robots.

The illegal connection of electricity in remote areas increases rapidly. Such theft of electricity from distribution line leads to huge losses in revenue of electricity. Pakistan facing huge energy crisis due to a shortage of electricity generation. This research project modeled and the designed the hardware prototype of automated anti-theft electricity distribution system. The proposed system detects the illegal load and burns it by sending high voltage signal from capacitor bank. The legal load is made safe and uninterrupted during execution of illegal load.
