In the present investigation, aluminum metal matrix composites (AMMs) reinforced with aluminum nitride (AlN) nanoparticulates at different volumetric ratios of (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 vol.%) were manufactured via a microwave-assisted powder metallurgy technique. The morphological, physical, mechanical, and electrochemical properties of the produced billets were examined to reflect the impact of the successive addition of AlN into the aluminum (Al) matrix. The morphological analysis revealed the high crystalline patterns of the formation of the Al-AlN composites. The microstructural analysis confirmed the presence of the elemental constituents of Al and AlN particles in the fabricated composites, showing an enhanced degree of agglomeration in conjunction with the additional amount of AlN. Positive behavior exhibited by the micro- and nanohardness was noticeable in the Al-AlN composites, especially at the ultimate concentration of AlN in the Al matrix of a 2 vol.%, where it reached 669.4 ± 28.1 MPa and 659.1 ± 11 MPa compared to the pure Al metal at 441.2 ± 20 MPa and 437.5 ± 11 MPa, respectively. A declining trend in the compressive strength was recorded in the reinforced Al samples. The corrosion resistance of the AlN-reinforced Al metal matrix was estimated at 3.5 wt.% NaCl using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization. The results reveal that the inclusion of 2.0 vol.%AlN led to the lowest corrosion rate.

MoO 3 thin film was fabricated on an indium tin oxide substrate using the physical vapor deposition technique. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy study to investigate surface morphology, grain size, and surface structure, which are critical for absorbing solar spectra in water splitting for hydrogen energy generation. Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy was used to confirm the absorption of solar spectra and the percentage of transmittance. Fourier-transform infrared analysis provided the functional groups present in the deposited thin film. The Tauc plot was used to determine the thin-film band gap, which allowed for the analysis of charge carrier transitions from the conduction band to the valence band. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigations confirmed the charge transfer processes to the counter electrode and electrolyte interfaces. The observed low curve for MoO 3 indicated low resistance and allowed efficient charge transfer. Linear sweep voltammetry analysis was used to measure photocurrent and solar light to hydrogen emission when the thin film was exposed to solar spectra. The thin film's observed hydrogen emission rate was 3731.74 mol g -1 h -1 , and the STH% of MoO 3 was found to be 0.345% at 0.8 V. In recent years, the growth spurt of medical imaging data has led to the development of various machine learning algorithms for various healthcare applications. The MedMNISTv2 dataset, a comprehensive benchmark for 2D biomedical image classification, encompasses diverse medical imaging modalities such as Fundus Camera, Breast Ultrasound, Colon Pathology, Blood Cell Microscope etc. Highly accurate classifications performed on these datasets is crucial for identification of various diseases and determining the course of treatment. This research paper presents a comprehensive analysis of four subsets within the MedMNISTv2 dataset: BloodMNIST, BreastMNIST, PathMNIST and RetinaMNIST. Each of these selected datasets is of diverse data modalities and comes with various sample sizes, and have been selected to analyze the efficiency of the model against diverse data modalities. The study explores the idea of assessing the Vision Transformer Model's ability to capture intricate patterns and features crucial for these medical image classification and thereby transcend the benchmark metrics substantially. The methodology includes pre-processing the input images which is followed by training the ViT-base-patch16-224 model on the mentioned datasets. The performance of the model is assessed using key metrices and by comparing the classification accuracies achieved with the benchmark accuracies. With the assistance of ViT, the new benchmarks achieved for BloodMNIST, BreastMNIST, PathMNIST and RetinaMNIST are 97.90%, 90.38%, 94.62% and 57%, respectively. Identifying and recognizing the food on the basis of its eating sounds is a challenging task, as it plays an important role in avoiding allergic foods, providing dietary preferences to people who are restricted to a particular diet, showcasing its cultural significance, etc. In this research paper, the aim is to design a novel methodology that helps to identify food items by analyzing their eating sounds using various deep learning models. To achieve this objective, a system has been proposed that extracts meaningful features from food-eating sounds with the help of signal processing techniques and deep learning models for classifying them into their respective food classes. Initially, 1200 audio files for 20 food items labeled have been collected and visualized to find relationships between the sound files of different food items. Later, to extract meaningful features, various techniques such as spectrograms, spectral rolloff, spectral bandwidth, and mel-frequency cepstral coefficients are used for the cleaning of audio files as well as to capture the unique characteristics of different food items. In the next phase, various deep learning models like GRU, LSTM, InceptionResNetV2, and the customized CNN model have been trained to learn spectral and temporal patterns in audio signals. Besides this, the models have also been hybridized i.e. Bidirectional LSTM + GRU and RNN + Bidirectional LSTM, and RNN + Bidirectional GRU to analyze their performance for the same labeled data in order to associate particular patterns of sound with their corresponding class of food item. During evaluation, the highest accuracy, precision,F1 score, and recall have been obtained by GRU with 99.28%, Bidirectional LSTM + GRU with 97.7% as well as 97.3%, and RNN + Bidirectional LSTM with 97.45%, respectively. Parasitic organisms pose a major global health threat, mainly in regions that lack advanced medical facilities. Early and accurate detection of parasitic organisms is vital to saving lives. Deep learning models have uplifted the medical sector by providing promising results in diagnosing, detecting, and classifying diseases. This paper explores the role of deep learning techniques in detecting and classifying various parasitic organisms. The research works on a dataset consisting of 34,298 samples of parasites such as Toxoplasma Gondii, Trypanosome, Plasmodium, Leishmania, Babesia, and Trichomonad along with host cells like red blood cells and white blood cells. These images are initially converted from RGB to grayscale followed by the computation of morphological features such as perimeter, height, area, and width. Later, Otsu thresholding and watershed techniques are applied to differentiate foreground from background and create markers on the images for the identification of regions of interest. Deep transfer learning models such as VGG19, InceptionV3, ResNet50V2, ResNet152V2, EfficientNetB3, EfficientNetB0, MobileNetV2, Xception, DenseNet169, and a hybrid model, InceptionResNetV2, are employed. The parameters of these models are fine-tuned using three optimizers: SGD, RMSprop, and Adam. Experimental results reveal that when RMSprop is applied, VGG19, InceptionV3, and EfficientNetB0 achieve the highest accuracy of 99.1% with a loss of 0.09. Similarly, using the SGD optimizer, InceptionV3 performs exceptionally well, achieving the highest accuracy of 99.91% with a loss of 0.98. Finally, applying the Adam optimizer, InceptionResNetV2 excels, achieving the highest accuracy of 99.96% with a loss of 0.13, outperforming other optimizers. Malignant lymphoma, which impacts the lymphatic system, presents diverse challenges in accurate diagnosis due to its varied subtypes-chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), follicular lymphoma (FL), and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). Lymphoma is a form of cancer that begins in the lymphatic system, impacting lymphocytes, which are a specific type of white blood cell. This research addresses these challenges by proposing ensemble and non-ensemble transfer learning models employing pre-trained weights from VGG16, VGG19, DenseNet201, InceptionV3, and Xception. For the ensemble technique, this paper adopts a stack-based ensemble approach. It is a two-level classification approach and best suited for accuracy improvement. Testing on a multiclass dataset of CLL, FL, and MCL reveals exceptional diagnostic accuracy, with DenseNet201, InceptionV3, and Xception exceeding 90% accuracy. The proposed ensemble model, leveraging InceptionV3 and Xception, achieves an outstanding 99% accuracy over 300 epochs, surpassing previous prediction methods. This study demonstrates the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed approach, showcasing its potential in real-world medical applications for precise lymphoma diagnosis.

The emergence of federated learning (FL) technique in fog-enabled healthcare system has leveraged enhanced privacy towards safeguarding sensitive patient information over heterogeneous computing platforms. In this paper, we introduce the FedHealthFog framework, which was meticulously developed to overcome the difficulties of distributed learning in resource-constrained IoT-enabled healthcare systems, particularly those sensitive to delays and energy efficiency. Conventional federated learning approaches face challenges stemming from substantial compute requirements and significant communication costs. This is primarily due to their reliance on a singular server for the aggregation of global data, which results in inefficient training models. We present a transformational approach to address these problems by elevating strategically placed fog nodes to the position of local aggregators within the federated learning architecture. A sophisticated greedy heuristic technique is used to optimize the choice of a fog node as the global aggregator in each communication cycle between edge devices and the cloud. The FedHealthFog system notably accounts for drop in communication latency of 87.01%, 26.90%, and 71.74%, and energy consumption of 57.98%, 34.36%, and 35.37% respectively, for three benchmark algorithms analyzed in this study. The effectiveness of FedHealthFog is strongly supported by outcomes of our experiments compared to cutting-edge alternatives while simultaneously reducing number of global aggregation cycles. Enhancing the solar-physical conversion efficacy ability of the nanomaterials is an essential for real-time implementation. We report the enhanced solar-physical efficiency of the BiFeO 3 nanospheres via Gd 3+ doping and Au nanoparticles decoration. Initially, we have obtained the Bi 1-x Gd x FeO 3 nanospheres were attained via a simple solvothermal technique and then citrate reduction of Au was conducted. Obtained perovskite BiFeO systems were studied for the Gd 3+ doping, crystalline phase and elemental purity using the XRD and XPS techniques. Transmission electron microscope had revealed the ∼400 nm sized BiFeO 3 nanospheres. Optical absorption spectrum revealed the enhanced visible photon absorption occurring in BiFeO 3 for both Gd 3+ doping and Au decoration. The bandgap values of pristine, 1%, 3% and 5% Gd 3+ doped in BiFeO 3 are 2.2 eV, 2.19 eV, 2.17 eV and 2.12 eV, respectively. Conducted photoluminescence revealed the dual electron trapping occurring in BiFeO 3 via Gd 3+ ions and Au nanoparticles. LED light assisted 72% of piezo-photocatalytic degradation efficiency of Tetracycline is achieved with Bi 0 95 Fe 0 05 O 3 /Au, whereas the photo catalytic is only 65% and piezo catalytic efficiency is 58%. In recyclable studies the Bi 0.95 Gd 0.05 FeO 3 /Au had shown the consistent piezo-photocatalytic efficiency for 3 reaction cycles. In this article, a low-complexity VLSI architecture based on a radix-4 hyperbolic COordinate Rotion DIgital Computer (CORDIC) is proposed to compute the [Formula: see text] root and [Formula: see text] power of a fixed-point number. The most recent techniques use the radix-2 CORDIC algorithm to compute the root and power. The high computation latency of radix-2 CORDIC is the primary concern for the designers. [Formula: see text] root and [Formula: see text] power computations are divided into three phases, and each phase is performed by a different class of the proposed modified radix-4 CORDIC algorithms in the proposed architecture. Although radix-4 CORDIC can converge faster with fewer recurrences, it demands more hardware resources and computational steps due to its intricate angle selection logic and variable scale factor. We have employed the modified radix-4 hyperbolic vectoring (R4HV) CORDIC to compute logarithms, radix-4 linear vectoring (R4LV) to perform division, and the modified scaling-free radix-4 hyperbolic rotation (R4HR) CORDIC to compute exponential. The criteria to select the amount of rotation in R4HV CORDIC is complicated and depends on the coordinates [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] of the rotating vector. In the proposed modified R4HV CORDIC, we have derived the simple selection criteria based on the fact that the inputs to R4HV CORDIC are related. The proposed criteria only depend on the coordinate [Formula: see text] that reduces the hardware complexity of the R4HV CORDIC. The R4HR CORDIC shows the complex scale factor, and compensation of such scale factor necessitates the complex hardware. The complexity of R4HR CORDIC is reduced by pre-computing the scale factor for initial iterations and by employing scaling-free rotations for later iterations. Quantitative hardware analysis suggests better hardware utilization than the recent approaches. Agriculture plays a pivotal role in the economies of developing countries by providing livelihoods, sustenance, and employment opportunities in rural areas. However, crop diseases pose a significant threat to both farmers' incomes and food security. Furthermore, these diseases also show adverse effects on human health by causing various illnesses. Till date, only a limited number of studies have been conducted to identify and classify diseased cauliflower plants but they also face certain challenges such as insufficient disease surveillance mechanisms, the lack of comprehensive datasets that are properly labelled as well as are of high quality, and the considerable computational resources that are necessary for conducting thorough analysis. In view of the aforementioned challenges, the primary objective of this manuscript is to tackle these significant concerns and enhance understanding regarding the significance of cauliflower disease identification and detection in rural agriculture through the use of advanced deep transfer learning techniques. The work is conducted on the four classes of cauliflower diseases i.e. Bacterial spot rot, Black rot, Downy Mildew, and No disease which are taken from VegNet dataset. Ten deep transfer learning models such as EfficientNetB0, Xception, EfficientNetB1, MobileNetV2, EfficientNetB2, DenseNet201, EfficientNetB3, InceptionResNetV2, EfficientNetB4, and ResNet152V2, are trained and examined on the basis of root mean square error, recall, precision, F1-score, accuracy, and loss. Remarkably, EfficientNetB1 achieved the highest validation accuracy (99.90%), lowest loss (0.16), and root mean square error (0.40) during experimentation. It has been observed that our research highlights the critical role of advanced CNN models in automating cauliflower disease detection and classification and such models can lead to robust applications for cauliflower disease management in agriculture, ultimately benefiting both farmers and consumers., (© 2023. An understanding of the biomechanical characteristics and configuration of flexible and locked plating in order to provide balance stability and flexibility of implant fixation will help to construct and promote fast bone healing. The relationship between applied loading and implantation configuration for best bone healing is still under debate. This study aims to investigate the relationship between implant strength, working length, and interfragmentary strain (εIFM) on implant stability for femoral midshaft transverse fractures. The transverse fracture was fixed with a fragment locking compression plate (LCP) system. Finite element analysis was performed and subsequently characterised based on compression loading (600 N up to 900 N) and screw designs (conventional and locking) with different penetration depths (unicortical and bicortical). Strain theory was used to evaluate the stability of the model. The correlation of screw configuration with screw type shows a unicortical depth for both types ( p < 0.01) for 700 N and 800 N loads and (p < 0.05) for configurations 134 and 124. Interfragmentary strain affected only the 600 N load ( p < 0.01) for the bicortical conventional type (group BC), and the screw configurations that were influenced were 1234 and 123 ( p < 0.05). The low steepness of the slope indicates the least εIFM for the corresponding biomechanical characteristic in good-quality stability. A strain value of ≤2% promotes callus formation and is classified as absolute stability, which is the minimum required value for the induction of callus and the maximum value that allows bony bridging. The outcomes have provided the correlation of screw configuration in femoral midshaft transverse fracture implantation which is important to promote essential primary stability.

The powder metallurgy method was used to manufacture three Ti-based alloys: Ti-15%Zr-2%Ta-4%Sn (Ti-Zr-Ta-4Sn), Ti-15%Zr-2%Ta-6%Sn (Ti-Zr-Ta-6Sn), and Ti-15%Zr-2%Ta-8%Sn (Ti-Zr-Ta-8Sn). Electrochemical measurements and surface analyses were used to determine the effect of Sn concentration on the corrosion of these alloys after exposure to a simulated body fluid (SBF) solution for 1 h and 72 h. It was found that the passivation of the alloy surface significantly increased when the Sn content increased from 4% to 6% and then to 8%, which led to a significant reduction in corrosion. The impedance spectra derived from the Nyquist graphs also explained how the addition of Sn significantly improved the alloys' polarization resistances. According to the change in the chronoamperometric current at an applied anodic potential over time, the increase in Sn content within the alloy significantly reduced the currents over time, indicating that the uniform and pitting corrosion were greatly decreased. The formation of an oxide layer (TiO 2 ), which was demonstrated by the surface morphology of the alloys after exposure to SBF solution for 72 h and corrosion at 400 mV (Ag/AgCl) for 60 min, was supported by the profile analysis obtained by an X-ray spectroscopy analyzer. It was clear from all of the findings that the tested alloys have a remarkable improvement in resistance to corrosivity when the Sn content was increased to 8%.

Studies on paediatric spines commonly use human adult or immature porcine spines as specimens, because it is difficult to obtain actual paediatric specimens. There are quite obvious differences, such as geometry, size, bone morphology, and orientation of facet joint for these specimens, compared to paediatric spine. Hence, development of synthetic models that can behave similarly to actual paediatric spines, particularly in term of range of motion (ROM), could provide a significant contribution for paediatric spine research. This study aims to develop a synthetic paediatric spine using finite element modelling and evaluate the reliability of the model by comparing it with the experimental data under certain load conditions. The ROM of the paediatric spine was measured using a validated FE model at ±0.5 Nm moment in order to determine the moment required by the synthetic spine to achieve the same ROM. The results showed that the synthetic spine required two moments, ±2 Nm for lateral-bending and axial rotation, and ±3 Nm for flexion-extension, to obtain the paediatric ROM. The synthetic spine was shown to be stiffer in flexion-extension but more flexible in lateral bending than the paediatric FE model, possibly as a result of the intervertebral disc's simplified shape and the disc's weak bonding with the vertebrae. Nevertheless, the synthetic paediatric spine has promising potential in the future as an alternative paediatric spine model for biomechanical investigation of paediatric cases.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer diagnosed annually, and the second leading cause of death due to cancer. Early diagnosis of this ailment is vital for preventing the tumours to spread and plan treatment to possibly eradicate the disease. However, population-wide screening is stunted by the requirement of medical professionals to analyse histological slides manually. Thus, an automated computer-aided detection (CAD) framework based on deep learning is proposed in this research that uses histological slide images for predictions. Ensemble learning is a popular strategy for fusing the salient properties of several models to make the final predictions. However, such frameworks are computationally costly since it requires the training of multiple base learners. Instead, in this study, we adopt a snapshot ensemble method, wherein, instead of the traditional method of fusing decision scores from the snapshots of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model, we extract deep features from the penultimate layer of the CNN model. Since the deep features are extracted from the same CNN model but for different learning environments, there may be redundancy in the feature set. To alleviate this, the features are fed into Particle Swarm Optimization, a popular meta-heuristic, for dimensionality reduction of the feature space and better classification. Upon evaluation on a publicly available colorectal cancer histology dataset using a five-fold cross-validation scheme, the proposed method obtains a highest accuracy of 97.60% and F1-Score of 97.61%, outperforming existing state-of-the-art methods on the same dataset. Further, qualitative investigation of class activation maps provide visual explainability to medical practitioners, as well as justifies the use of the CAD framework in screening of colorectal histology. Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) seeks more attention in attaining enormous opportunities in the field of Industry 4.0. But there exist severe challenges related to data privacy and security when processing the automatic and practical data collection and monitoring over industrial applications in IIoT. Traditional user authentication strategies in IIoT are affected by single factor authentication, which leads to poor adaptability along with the increasing users count and different user categories. For addressing such issue, this paper aims to implement the privacy preservation model in IIoT using the advancements of artificial intelligent techniques. The two major stages of the designed system are the sanitization and restoration of IIoT data. Data sanitization hides the sensitive information in IIoT for preventing it from leakage of information. Moreover, the designed sanitization procedure performs the optimal key generation by a new Grasshopper-Black Hole Optimization (G-BHO) algorithm. A multi-objective function involving the parameters like degree of modification, hiding rate, correlation coefficient between the actual data and restored data, and information preservation rate was derived and utilized for generating optimal key. The simulation result establishes the dominance of the proposed model over other state-of the-art models in terms of various performance metrics. Numerous medical data sources are required to perfectly diagnose diseases using artificial intelligence techniques, such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, genomics, computed tomography scan, etc. Furthermore, artificial intelligence primarily enhanced the infirmary experience and sped up preparing patients to continue their rehabilitation at home. This article covers the comprehensive survey based on artificial intelligence techniques to diagnose numerous diseases such as Alzheimer, cancer, diabetes, chronic heart disease, tuberculosis, stroke and cerebrovascular, hypertension, skin, and liver disease. We conducted an extensive survey including the used medical imaging dataset and their feature extraction and classification process for predictions. Preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines are used to select the articles published up to October 2020 on the Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, PubMed, Excerpta Medical Database, and Psychology Information for early prediction of distinct kinds of diseases using artificial intelligence-based techniques. Ti-15%Zr alloy and Ti-15%Zr-2%Ta alloy were fabricated to be used in biomedical applications. The corrosion of these two alloys after being immersed in simulated body fluid for 1 h and 72 h was investigated. Different electrochemical methods, including polarization, impedance, and chronoamperometric current with time at 400 mV were employed. Also, the surface morphology and the compositions of its formed film were reported by the use of scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray. Based on the collected results, the presence of 2%Ta in the Ti-Zr alloy passivated its corrosion by minimizing its corrosion rate. The polarization curves revealed that adding Ta within the alloy increases the corrosion resistance as was confirmed by the impedance spectroscopy and current time data. The change of current versus time proved that the addition of Ta reduces the absolute current even at high anodic potential, 400 mV. The results of both electrochemical and spectroscopic methods indicated that pitting corrosion does not occur for both Ti-Zr and Ti-Zr-Ta alloys, even after their immersion in SBF solutions for 72 h.

The human body is designed to experience stress and react to it, and experiencing challenges causes our body to produce physical and mental responses and also helps our body to adjust to new situations. However, stress becomes a problem when it continues to remain without a period of relaxation or relief. When a person has long-term stress, continued activation of the stress response causes wear and tear on the body. Chronic stress results in cancer, cardiovascular disease, depression, and diabetes, and thus is deeply detrimental to our health. Previous researchers have performed a lot of work regarding mental stress, using mainly machine-learning-based approaches. However, most of the methods have used raw, unprocessed data, which cause more errors and thereby affect the overall model performance. Moreover, corrupt data values are very common, especially for wearable sensor datasets, which may also lead to poor performance in this regard. This paper introduces a deep-learning-based method for mental stress detection by encoding time series raw data into Gramian Angular Field images, which results in promising accuracy while detecting the stress levels of an individual. The experiment has been conducted on two standard benchmark datasets, namely WESAD (wearable stress and affect detection) and SWELL. During the studies, testing accuracies of 94.8% and 99.39% are achieved for the WESAD and SWELL datasets, respectively. For the WESAD dataset, chest data are taken for the experiment, including the data of sensor modalities such as three-axis acceleration (ACC), electrocardiogram (ECG), body temperature (TEMP), respiration (RESP), etc.

The development of genomic technology for smart diagnosis and therapies for various diseases has lately been the most demanding area for computer-aided diagnostic and treatment research. Exponential breakthroughs in artificial intelligence and machine intelligence technologies could pave the way for identifying challenges afflicting the healthcare industry. Genomics is paving the way for predicting future illnesses, including cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and diabetes. Machine learning advancements have expedited the pace of biomedical informatics research and inspired new branches of computational biology. Furthermore, knowing gene relationships has resulted in developing more accurate models that can effectively detect patterns in vast volumes of data, making classification models important in various domains. Recurrent Neural Network models have a memory that allows them to quickly remember knowledge from previous cycles and process genetic data. The present work focuses on type 2 diabetes prediction using gene sequences derived from genomic DNA fragments through automated feature selection and feature extraction procedures for matching gene patterns with training data. The suggested model was tested using tabular data to predict type 2 diabetes based on several parameters. The performance of neural networks incorporating Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) components, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) was tested in this research. The model's efficiency is assessed using the evaluation metrics such as Sensitivity, Specificity, Accuracy, F1-Score, and Mathews Correlation Coefficient (MCC). The suggested technique predicted future illnesses with fair Accuracy. Furthermore, our research showed that the suggested model could be used in real-world scenarios and that input risk variables from an end-user Android application could be kept and evaluated on a secure remote server.

The wearable healthcare equipment is primarily designed to alert patients of any specific health conditions or to act as a useful tool for treatment or follow-up. With the growth of technologies and connectivity, the security of these devices has become a growing concern. The lack of security awareness amongst novice users and the risk of several intermediary attacks for accessing health information severely endangers the use of IoT-enabled healthcare systems. In this paper, a blockchain-based secure data storage system is proposed along with a user authentication and health status prediction system. Firstly, this work utilizes reversed public-private keys combined Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RP 2 -RSA) algorithm for providing security. Secondly, feature selection is completed by employing the correlation factor-induced salp swarm optimization algorithm (CF-SSOA). Finally, health status classification is performed using advanced weight initialization adapted SignReLU activation function-based artificial neural network (ASR-ANN) which classifies the status as normal and abnormal. Meanwhile, the abnormal measures are stored in the corresponding patient blockchain. Here, blockchain technology is used to store medical data securely for further analysis. The proposed model has achieved an accuracy of 95.893% and is validated by comparing it with other baseline techniques. On the security front, the proposed RP 2 -RSA attains a 96.123% security level.

Carcinoma is a primary source of morbidity in women globally, with metastatic disease accounting for most deaths. Its early discovery and diagnosis may significantly increase the odds of survival. Breast cancer imaging is critical for early identification, clinical staging, management choices, and treatment planning. In the current study, the FastAI technology is used with the ResNet-32 model to precisely identify ductal carcinoma. ResNet-32 is having few layers comparted to majority of its counterparts with almost identical performance. FastAI offers a rapid approximation toward the outcome for deep learning models via GPU acceleration and a faster callback mechanism, which would result in faster execution of the model with lesser code and yield better precision in classifying the tissue slides. Residual Network (ResNet) is proven to handle the vanishing gradient and effective feature learning better. Integration of two computationally efficient technologies has yielded a precision accuracy with reasonable computational efforts. The proposed model has shown considerable efficiency in the evaluating parameters like sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and F1 Score against the other dominantly used deep learning models. These insights have shown that the proposed approach might assist practitioners in analyzing Breast Cancer (BC) cases appropriately, perhaps saving future complications and death. Very often, pure Ti and (α + β) Ti-6Al-4V alloys have been used commercially for implant applications, but ensuring their chemical, mechanical, and biological biocompatibility is always a serious concern for sustaining the long-term efficacy of implants. Therefore, there has always been a great quest to explore new biomedical alloying systems that can offer substantial beneficial effects in tailoring a balance between the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of implantable medical devices. With a view to the mechanical performance, this study focused on designing a Ti-15Zr-2Ta- x Sn (where x = 4, 6, 8) alloying system with high strength and low Young's modulus prepared by a powder metallurgy method. The experimental results showed that mechanical alloying, followed by spark plasma sintering, produced a fully consolidated (α + β) Ti-Zr-Ta-Sn-based alloy with a fine grain size and a relative density greater than 99%. Nevertheless, the shape, size, and distribution of α-phase precipitations were found to be sensitive to Sn contents. The addition of Sn also increased the α/β transus temperature of the alloy. For example, as the Sn content was increased from 4 wt.% to 8 wt.%, the β grains transformed into diverse morphological characteristics, namely, a thin-grain-boundary α phase (α GB ), lamellar α colonies, and acicular α s precipitates and very low residual porosity during subsequent cooling after the spark plasma sintering procedure, which is consistent with the relative density results. Among the prepared alloys, Ti-15Zr-2Ta-8Sn exhibited the highest hardness (s340 HV), compressive yield strength (~1056 MPa), and maximum compressive strength (~1470). The formation of intriguing precipitate-matrix interfaces (α/β) acting as dislocation barriers is proposed to be the main reason for the high strength of the Ti-15Zr-2Ta-8Sn alloy. Finally, based on mechanical and structural properties, it is envisaged that our developed alloys will be promising for indwelling implant applications.

Cancerous tumor cells divide uncontrollably, which results in either tumor or harm to the immune system of the body. Due to the destructive effects of chemotherapy, optimal medications are needed. Therefore, possible treatment methods should be controlled to maintain the constant/continuous dose for affecting the spreading of cancerous tumor cells. Rapid growth of cells is classified into primary and secondary types. In giving a proper response, the immune system plays an important role. This is considered a natural process while fighting against tumors. In recent days, achieving a better method to treat tumors is the prime focus of researchers. Mathematical modeling of tumors uses combined immune, vaccine, and chemotherapies to check performance stability. In this research paper, mathematical modeling is utilized with reference to cancerous tumor growth, the immune system, and normal cells, which are directly affected by the process of chemotherapy. This paper presents novel techniques, which include Bernstein polynomial (BSP) with genetic algorithm (GA), sliding mode controller (SMC), and synergetic control (SC), for giving a possible solution to the cancerous tumor cells (CCs) model. Through GA, random population is generated to evaluate fitness. SMC is used for the continuous exponential dose of chemotherapy to reduce CCs in about forty-five days. In addition, error function consists of five cases that include normal cells (NCs), immune cells (ICs), CCs, and chemotherapy. Furthermore, the drug control process is explained in all the cases. In simulation results, utilizing SC has completely eliminated CCs in nearly five days. The proposed approach reduces CCs as early as possible.

With the electric power grid experiencing a rapid shift to the smart grid paradigm over a deregulated energy market, Internet of Things (IoT) based solutions are gaining prominence and innovative Peer To Peer (P2P) energy trading at micro-level are being deployed. Such advancement, however leave traditional security models vulnerable and pave the path for Blockchain, an Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) with its decentralized, open and transparency characteristics as a viable alternative. However, due to deregulation in energy trading markets, massive volumes of micro transactions are required to be supported, which become a performance bottleneck with existing Blockchain solution such as Hyperledger, Ethereum and so on. In this paper, a lightweight 'Tangle' based framework, namely IOTA (Third generation DLT) is employed for designing an energy trading market that uses Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) based solution that not only alleviates the reward overhead for micro-transactions but also provides scalability, quantum-proof, and high throughput of such transactions at low confirmation latency. Furthermore the Masked Authentication Messaging (MAM) protocol is used over the IOTA P2P energy trading framework that allows energy producer and consumer to share the data while maintaining the confidentiality, and facilitates the data accessibility. The Raspberry Pi 3 board along with voltage sensor (INA219) used for the setting up light node and publishing and fetching data from the Tangle. The results of the obtained benchmarking indicate low confirmation latency, high throughput, system with Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum. Moreover, the effect of transaction rate decreases when the IOTA bundle size increases more than 10. For bundle size 5 and 10 it behaves absolutely better than any other platform. The speedy confirmation time of transactions in IOTA, is most suitable for peer to peer energy trading scenarios. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have recently been viewed as the basic architecture that prepared the way for the Internet of Things (IoT) to arise. Nevertheless, when WSNs are linked with the IoT, a difficult issue arises due to excessive energy utilization in their nodes and short network longevity. As a result, energy constraints in sensor nodes, sensor data sharing and routing protocols are the fundamental topics in WSN. This research presents an enhanced smart-energy-efficient routing protocol (ESEERP) technique that extends the lifetime of the network and improves its connection to meet the aforementioned deficiencies. It selects the Cluster Head (CH) depending on an efficient optimization method derived from several purposes. It aids in the reduction of sleepy sensor nodes and decreases energy utilization. A Sail Fish Optimizer (SFO) is used to find an appropriate route to the sink node for data transfer following CH selection. Regarding energy utilization, bandwidth, packet delivery ratio and network longevity, the proposed methodology is mathematically studied, and the results have been compared to identical current approaches such as a Genetic algorithm (GA), Ant Lion optimization (ALO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The simulation shows that in the proposed approach for the longevity of the network, there are 3500 rounds; energy utilization achieves a maximum of 0.5 Joules; bandwidth transmits the data at the rate of 0.52 MBPS; the packet delivery ratio (PDR) is at the rate of 96% for 500 nodes, respectively.

Cloud providers create a vendor-locked-in environment by offering proprietary and non-standard APIs, resulting in a lack of interoperability and portability among clouds. To overcome this deterrent, solutions must be developed to exploit multiple clouds efficaciously. This paper proposes a middleware platform to mitigate the application portability issue among clouds. A literature review is also conducted to analyze the solutions for application portability. The middleware allows an application to be ported on various platform-as-a-service (PaaS) clouds and supports deploying different services of an application on disparate clouds. The efficiency of the abstraction layer is validated by experimentation on an application that uses the message queue, Binary Large Objects (BLOB), email, and short message service (SMS) services of various clouds via the proposed middleware against the same application using these services via their native code. The experimental results show that adding this middleware mildly affects the latency, but it dramatically reduces the developer's overhead of implementing each service for different clouds to make it portable.

It is vital to develop an appropriate prediction model and link carefully to measurable events such as clinical parameters and patient outcomes to analyze the severity of the disease. Timely identifying retinal diseases is becoming more vital to prevent blindness among young and adults. Investigation of blood vessels delivers preliminary information on the existence and treatment of glaucoma, retinopathy, and so on. During the analysis of diabetic retinopathy, one of the essential steps is to extract the retinal blood vessel accurately. This study presents an improved Gabor filter through various enhancement approaches. The degraded images with the enhancement of certain features can simplify image interpretation both for a human observer and for machine recognition. Thus, in this work, few enhancement approaches such as Gamma corrected adaptively with distributed weight (GCADW), joint equalization of histogram (JEH), homomorphic filter, unsharp masking filter, adaptive unsharp masking filter, and particle swarm optimization (PSO) based unsharp masking filter are taken into consideration. In this paper, an effort has been made to improve the performance of the Gabor filter by combining it with different enhancement methods and to enhance the detection of blood vessels. The performance of all the suggested approaches is assessed on publicly available databases such as DRIVE and CHASE&#95;DB1. The results of all the integrated enhanced techniques are analyzed, discussed, and compared. The best result is delivered by PSO unsharp masking filter combined with the Gabor filter with an accuracy of 0.9593 for the DRIVE database and 0.9685 for the CHASE&#95;DB1 database. New technologies and trends in industries have opened up ways for distributed establishment of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) for smart industries. CPSs are largely based upon Internet of Things (IoT) because of data storage on cloud servers which poses many constraints due to the heterogeneous nature of devices involved in communication. Among other challenges, security is the most daunting challenge that contributes, at least in part, to the impeded momentum of the CPS realization. Designers assume that CPSs are themselves protected as they cannot be accessed from external networks. However, these days, CPSs have combined parts of the cyber world and also the physical layer. Therefore, cyber security problems are large for commercial CPSs because the systems move with one another and conjointly with physical surroundings, i.e., Complex Industrial Applications (CIA). Therefore, in this paper, a novel data security algorithm Dynamic Hybrid Secured Encryption Technique (DHSE) is proposed based on the hybrid encryption scheme of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) and Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE). The proposed algorithm divides the data into three categories, i.e., less sensitive, mid-sensitive and high sensitive. The data is distributed by forming the named-data packets (NDPs) via labelling the names. One can choose the number of rounds depending on the actual size of a key; it is necessary to perform a minimum of 10 rounds for 128-bit keys in DHSE. The average encryption time taken by AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), IBE (Identity-based encryption) and ABE (Attribute-Based Encryption) is 3.25 ms, 2.18 ms and 2.39 ms, respectively. Whereas the average time taken by the DHSE encryption algorithm is 2.07 ms which is very much less when compared to other algorithms. Similarly, the average decryption times taken by AES, IBE and ABE are 1.77 ms, 1.09 ms and 1.20 ms and the average times taken by the DHSE decryption algorithms are 1.07 ms, which is very much less when compared to other algorithms. The analysis shows that the framework is well designed and provides confidentiality of data with minimum encryption and decryption time. Therefore, the proposed approach is well suited for CPS-IoT.

Biomedical images contain a huge number of sensor measurements that can provide disease characteristics. Computer-assisted analysis of such parameters aids in the early detection of disease, and as a result aids medical professionals in quickly selecting appropriate medications. Human Activity Recognition, abbreviated as 'HAR', is the prediction of common human measurements, which consist of movements such as walking, running, drinking, cooking, etc. It is extremely advantageous for services in the sphere of medical care, such as fitness trackers, senior care, and archiving patient information for future use. The two types of data that can be fed to the HAR system as input are, first, video sequences or images of human activities, and second, time-series data of physical movements during different activities recorded through sensors such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, etc., that are present in smart gadgets. In this paper, we have decided to work with time-series kind of data as the input. Here, we propose an ensemble of four deep learning-based classification models, namely, 'CNN-net', 'CNNLSTM-net', 'ConvLSTM-net', and 'StackedLSTM-net', which is termed as 'Ensem-HAR'. Each of the classification models used in the ensemble is based on a typical 1D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network; however, they differ in terms of their architectural variations. Prediction through the proposed Ensem-HAR is carried out by stacking predictions from each of the four mentioned classification models, then training a Blender or Meta-learner on the stacked prediction, which provides the final prediction on test data. Our proposed model was evaluated over three benchmark datasets, WISDM, PAMAP2, and UCI-HAR; the proposed Ensem-HAR model for biomedical measurement achieved 98.70%, 97.45%, and 95.05% accuracy, respectively, on the mentioned datasets. The results from the experiments reveal that the suggested model performs better than the other multiple generated measurements to which it was compared.

Software effort estimation is a significant part of software development and project management. The accuracy of effort estimation and scheduling results determines whether a project succeeds or fails. Many studies have focused on improving the accuracy of predicted results, yet accurate estimation of effort has proven to be a challenging task for researchers and practitioners, particularly when it comes to projects that use agile approaches. This work investigates the application of the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) along with the novel Energy-Efficient BAT (EEBAT) technique for effort prediction in the Scrum environment. The proposed ANFIS-EEBAT approach is evaluated using real agile datasets. It provides the best results in all the evaluation criteria used. The proposed approach is also statistically validated using nonparametric tests, and it is found that ANFIS-EEBAT worked best as compared to various state-of-the-art meta-heuristic and machine learning (ML) algorithms such as fireworks, ant lion optimizer (ALO), bat, particle swarm optimization (PSO), and genetic algorithm (GA)., (© 2022. As a result of the proliferation of digital and network technologies in all facets of modern society, including the healthcare systems, the widespread adoption of Electronic Healthcare Records (EHRs) has become the norm. At the same time, Blockchain has been widely accepted as a potent solution for addressing security issues in any untrusted, distributed, decentralized application and has thus seen a slew of works on Blockchain-enabled EHRs. However, most such prototypes ignore the performance aspects of proposed designs. In this paper, a prototype for a Blockchain-based EHR has been presented that employs smart contracts with Hyperledger Fabric 2.0, which also provides a unified performance analysis with Hyperledger Caliper 0.4.2. The additional contribution of this paper lies in the use of a multi-hosted testbed for the performance analysis in addition to far more realistic Gossip-based traffic scenario analysis with Tcpdump tools. Moreover, the prototype is tested for performance with superior transaction ordering schemes such as Kafka and RAFT, unlike other literature that mostly uses SOLO for the purpose, which accounts for superior fault tolerance. All of these additional unique features make the performance evaluation presented herein much more realistic and hence adds hugely to the credibility of the results obtained. The proposed framework within the multi-host instances continues to behave more successfully with high throughput, low latency, and low utilization of resources for opening, querying, and transferring transactions into a healthcare Blockchain network. The results obtained in various rounds of evaluation demonstrate the superiority of the proposed framework.

Imbalance in hyperspectral images creates a crisis in its analysis and classification operation. Resampling techniques are utilized to minimize the data imbalance. Although only a limited number of resampling methods were explored in the previous research, a small quantity of work has been done. In this study, we propose a novel illustrative study of the performance of the existing resampling techniques, viz. oversampling, undersampling, and hybrid sampling, for removing the imbalance from the minor samples of the hyperspectral dataset. The balanced dataset is classified in the next step, using the tree-based ensemble classifiers by including the spectral and spatial features. Finally, the comparative study is performed based on the statistical analysis of the outcome obtained from those classifiers that are discussed in the results section. In addition, we applied a new ensemble hybrid classifier named random rotation forest to our dataset. Three benchmark hyperspectral datasets: Indian Pines, Salinas Valley, and Pavia University, are applied for performing the experiments. We have taken precision, recall, F score, Cohen kappa, and overall accuracy as assessment metrics to evaluate our model. The obtained result shows that SMOTE, Tomek Links, and their combinations stand out to be the more optimized resampling strategies. Recent imaging science and technology discoveries have considered hyperspectral imagery and remote sensing. The current intelligent technologies, such as support vector machines, sparse representations, active learning, extreme learning machines, transfer learning, and deep learning, are typically based on the learning of the machines. These techniques enrich the processing of such three-dimensional, multiple bands, and high-resolution images with their precision and fidelity. This article presents an extensive survey depicting machine-dependent technologies' contributions and deep learning on landcover classification based on hyperspectral images. The objective of this study is three-fold. First, after reading a large pool of Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, SCI, and SCIE-indexed and SCIE-related articles, we provide a novel approach for review work that is entirely systematic and aids in the inspiration of finding research gaps and developing embedded questions. Second, we emphasize contemporary advances in machine learning (ML) methods for identifying hyperspectral images, with a brief, organized overview and a thorough assessment of the literature involved. Lymph node metastasis in breast cancer may be accurately predicted using a DenseNet-169 model. However, the current system for identifying metastases in a lymph node is manual and tedious. A pathologist well-versed with the process of detection and characterization of lymph nodes goes through hours investigating histological slides. Furthermore, because of the massive size of most whole-slide images (WSI), it is wise to divide a slide into batches of small image patches and apply methods independently on each patch. The present work introduces a novel method for the automated diagnosis and detection of metastases from whole slide images using the Fast AI framework and the 1-cycle policy. Additionally, it compares this new approach to previous methods. The proposed model has surpassed other state-of-art methods with more than 97.4% accuracy. In addition, a mobile application is developed for prompt and quick response. It collects user information and models to diagnose metastases present in the early stages of cancer. These results indicate that the suggested model may assist general practitioners in accurately analyzing breast cancer situations, hence preventing future complications and mortality. With digital image processing, histopathologic interpretation and diagnostic accuracy have improved considerably.

Human Action Recognition (HAR) is a popular area of research in computer vision due to its wide range of applications such as surveillance, health care, and gaming, etc. Action recognition based on 3D skeleton data allows simplistic, cost-efficient models to be formed making it a widely used method. In this work, we propose DSwarm-Net, a framework that employs deep learning and swarm intelligence-based metaheuristic for HAR that uses 3D skeleton data for action classification. We extract four different types of features from the skeletal data namely: Distance, Distance Velocity, Angle, and Angle Velocity, which capture complementary information from the skeleton joints for encoding them into images. Encoding the skeleton data features into images is an alternative to the traditional video-processing approach and it helps in making the classification task less complex. The Distance and Distance Velocity encoded images have been stacked depth-wise and fed into a Convolutional Neural Network model which is a modified version of Inception-ResNet. Similarly, the Angle and Angle Velocity encoded images have been stacked depth-wise and fed into the same network. After training these models, deep features have been extracted from the pre-final layer of the networks, and the obtained feature representation is optimized by a nature-inspired metaheuristic, called Ant Lion Optimizer, to eliminate the non-informative or misleading features and to reduce the dimensionality of the feature set. The paper presents a new security aspect for a Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET)-based IoT model using the concept of artificial intelligence. The Black Hole Attack (BHA) is considered one of the most affecting threats in the MANET in which the attacker node drops the entire data traffic and hence degrades the network performance. Therefore, it necessitates the designing of an algorithm that can protect the network from the BHA node. This article introduces Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV), a new updated routing protocol that combines the advantages of the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) techniques. The combination of the SVM with ANN is the novelty of the proposed model that helps to identify the attackers within the discovered route using the AODV routing mechanism. Here, the model is trained using ANN but the selection of training data is performed using the ABC fitness function followed by SVM. The role of ABC is to provide a better route for data transmission between the source and the destination node. The optimized route, suggested by ABC, is then passed to the SVM model along with the node's properties. Based on those properties ANN decides whether the node is a normal or an attacker node. The simulation analysis performed in MATLAB shows that the proposed work exhibits an improvement in terms of Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), throughput, and delay. To validate the system efficiency, a comparative analysis is performed against the existing approaches such as Decision Tree and Random Forest that indicate that the utilization of the SVM with ANN is a beneficial step regarding the detection of BHA attackers in the MANET-based IoT networks.

Retinal blood vessels have been presented to contribute confirmation with regard to tortuosity, branching angles, or change in diameter as a result of ophthalmic disease. Although many enhancement filters are extensively utilized, the Jerman filter responds quite effectively at vessels, edges, and bifurcations and improves the visualization of structures. In contrast, curvelet transform is specifically designed to associate scale with orientation and can be used to recover from noisy data by curvelet shrinkage. This paper describes a method to improve the performance of curvelet transform further. A distinctive fusion of curvelet transform and the Jerman filter is presented for retinal blood vessel segmentation. Mean-C thresholding is employed for the segmentation purpose. The suggested method achieves average accuracies of 0.9600 and 0.9559 for DRIVE and CHASE&#95;DB1, respectively. Simulation results establish a better performance and faster implementation of the suggested scheme in comparison with similar approaches seen in the literature.

The advancements in Industry 4.0 have opened up new ways for the structural deployment of Smart Grids (SGs) to face the endlessly rising challenges of the 21st century. SGs for Industry 4.0 can be better managed by optimized routing techniques. In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs), the topology is not fixed and can be encountered by interference, mobility of nodes, propagation of multi-paths, and path loss. To extenuate these concerns for SGs, in this paper, we have presented a new version of the standard Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol for SGs to improve the management of control intervals that enhance the efficiency of the standard OLSR protocol without affecting its reliability. The adapted fault tolerant approach makes the proposed protocol more reliable for industrial applications. The process of grouping of nodes supports managing the total network cost by reducing severe flooding and evaluating an optimized head of clusters. The head of the unit is nominated according to the first defined expectation factor. With a sequence of rigorous performance evaluations under simulation parameters, the simulation results show that the proposed version of OLSR has proliferated Quality of Service (QoS) metrics when it is compared against the state-of-the-art-based conventional protocols, namely, standard OLSR, DSDV, AOMDV and hybrid routing technique.

In machine learning and data science, feature selection is considered as a crucial step of data preprocessing. When we directly apply the raw data for classification or clustering purposes, sometimes we observe that the learning algorithms do not perform well. One possible reason for this is the presence of redundant, noisy, and non-informative features or attributes in the datasets. Hence, feature selection methods are used to identify the subset of relevant features that can maximize the model performance. Moreover, due to reduction in feature dimension, both training time and storage required by the model can be reduced as well. In this paper, we present a tri-stage wrapper-filter-based feature selection framework for the purpose of medical report-based disease detection. In the first stage, an ensemble was formed by four filter methods-Mutual Information, ReliefF, Chi Square, and Xvariance-and then each feature from the union set was assessed by three classification algorithms-support vector machine, naïve Bayes, and k -nearest neighbors-and an average accuracy was calculated. The features with higher accuracy were selected to obtain a preliminary subset of optimal features. In the second stage, Pearson correlation was used to discard highly correlated features. In these two stages, XGBoost classification algorithm was applied to obtain the most contributing features that, in turn, provide the best optimal subset. Then, in the final stage, we fed the obtained feature subset to a meta-heuristic algorithm, called whale optimization algorithm, in order to further reduce the feature set and to achieve higher accuracy. We evaluated the proposed feature selection framework on four publicly available disease datasets taken from the UCI machine learning repository, namely, arrhythmia, leukemia, DLBCL, and prostate cancer. Our obtained results confirm that the proposed method can perform better than many state-of-the-art methods and can detect important features as well. Less features ensure less medical tests for correct diagnosis, thus saving both time and cost.

The substantial advancements offered by the edge computing has indicated serious evolutionary improvements for the internet of things (IoT) technology. The rigid design philosophy of the traditional network architecture limits its scope to meet future demands. However, information centric networking (ICN) is envisioned as a promising architecture to bridge the huge gaps and maintain IoT networks, mostly referred as ICN-IoT. The edge-enabled ICN-IoT architecture always demands efficient in-network caching techniques for supporting better user's quality of experience (QoE). In this paper, we propose an enhanced ICN-IoT content caching strategy by enabling artificial intelligence (AI)-based collaborative filtering within the edge cloud to support heterogeneous IoT architecture. This collaborative filtering-based content caching strategy would intelligently cache content on edge nodes for traffic management at cloud databases. The evaluations has been conducted to check the performance of the proposed strategy over various benchmark strategies, such as LCE, LCD, CL4M, and ProbCache. The analytical results demonstrate the better performance of our proposed strategy with average gain of 15% for cache hit ratio, 12% reduction in content retrieval delay, and 28% reduced average hop count in comparison to best considered LCD. We believe that the proposed strategy will contribute an effective solution to the related studies in this domain.

Decrease in crop yield and degradation in product quality due to plant diseases such as rust and blast in pearl millet is the cause of concern for farmers and the agriculture industry. The stipulation of expert advice for disease identification is also a challenge for the farmers. The traditional techniques adopted for plant disease detection require more human intervention, are unhandy for farmers, and have a high cost of deployment, operation, and maintenance. Therefore, there is a requirement for automating plant disease detection and classification. Deep learning and IoT-based solutions are proposed in the literature for plant disease detection and classification. However, there is a huge scope to develop low-cost systems by integrating these techniques for data collection, feature visualization, and disease detection. This research aims to develop the 'Automatic and Intelligent Data Collector and Classifier' framework by integrating IoT and deep learning. The framework automatically collects the imagery and parametric data from the pearl millet farmland at ICAR, Mysore, India. It automatically sends the collected data to the cloud server and the Raspberry Pi. The 'Custom-Net' model designed as a part of this research is deployed on the cloud server. It collaborates with the Raspberry Pi to precisely predict the blast and rust diseases in pearl millet. Moreover, the Grad-CAM is employed to visualize the features extracted by the 'Custom-Net'. Furthermore, the impact of transfer learning on the 'Custom-Net' and state-of-the-art models viz. Inception ResNet-V2, Inception-V3, ResNet-50, VGG-16, and VGG-19 is shown in this manuscript. Based on the experimental results, and features visualization by Grad-CAM, it is observed that the 'Custom-Net' extracts the relevant features and the transfer learning improves the extraction of relevant features. Additionally, the 'Custom-Net' model reports a classification accuracy of 98.78% that is equivalent to state-of-the-art models viz. Inception ResNet-V2, Inception-V3, ResNet-50, VGG-16, and VGG-19. Although the classification of 'Custom-Net' is comparable to state-of-the-art models, it is effective in reducing the training time by 86.67%. It makes the model more suitable for automating disease detection. In the modern era, deep learning techniques have emerged as powerful tools in image recognition. Convolutional Neural Networks, one of the deep learning tools, have attained an impressive outcome in this area. Applications such as identifying objects, faces, bones, handwritten digits, and traffic signs signify the importance of Convolutional Neural Networks in the real world. The effectiveness of Convolutional Neural Networks in image recognition motivates the researchers to extend its applications in the field of agriculture for recognition of plant species, yield management, weed detection, soil, and water management, fruit counting, diseases, and pest detection, evaluating the nutrient status of plants, and much more. The availability of voluminous research works in applying deep learning models in agriculture leads to difficulty in selecting a suitable model according to the type of dataset and experimental environment. In this manuscript, the authors present a survey of the existing literature in applying deep Convolutional Neural Networks to predict plant diseases from leaf images. This manuscript presents an exemplary comparison of the pre-processing techniques, Convolutional Neural Network models, frameworks, and optimization techniques applied to detect and classify plant diseases using leaf images as a data set. This manuscript also presents a survey of the datasets and performance metrics used to evaluate the efficacy of models. The manuscript highlights the advantages and disadvantages of different techniques and models proposed in the existing literature. This survey will ease the task of researchers working in the field of applying deep learning techniques for the identification and classification of plant leaf diseases.

Deep learning models are efficient in learning the features that assist in understanding complex patterns precisely. This study proposed a computerized process of classifying skin disease through deep learning based MobileNet V2 and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM). The MobileNet V2 model proved to be efficient with a better accuracy that can work on lightweight computational devices. The proposed model is efficient in maintaining stateful information for precise predictions. A grey-level co-occurrence matrix is used for assessing the progress of diseased growth. The performance has been compared against other state-of-the-art models such as Fine-Tuned Neural Networks (FTNN), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Very Deep Convolutional Networks for Large-Scale Image Recognition developed by Visual Geometry Group (VGG), and convolutional neural network architecture that expanded with few changes. The HAM10000 dataset is used and the proposed method has outperformed other methods with more than 85% accuracy. Its robustness in recognizing the affected region much faster with almost 2× lesser computations than the conventional MobileNet model results in minimal computational efforts. Furthermore, a mobile application is designed for instant and proper action. It helps the patient and dermatologists identify the type of disease from the affected region's image at the initial stage of the skin disease. These findings suggest that the proposed system can help general practitioners efficiently and effectively diagnose skin conditions, thereby reducing further complications and morbidity.

Family motivation as a mediating mechanism is a novel and under-researched area in the field of positive organizational scholarship. Drawing on Social Exchange Theory (SET), this study empirically validates family motivation as a mediator between family support and work engagement. The process by Hayes (2013) was used to analyze time-lagged data collected from 356 employees of the education sector. Results confirm the mediating role of family motivation in the relationship between family support and work engagement and the moderating role of calling in the relationship between family support and family motivation. This study adds to the literature of family-work enrichment accounts by validating family support as a novel antecedent for family motivation and positive attitudes. The implications of the study are discussed.

Cloud computing offers the services to access, manipulate and configure data online over the web. The cloud term refers to an internet network which is remotely available and accessible at anytime from anywhere. Cloud computing is undoubtedly an innovation as the investment in the real and physical infrastructure is much greater than the cloud technology investment. The present work addresses the issue of power consumption done by cloud infrastructure. As there is a need for algorithms and techniques that can reduce energy consumption and schedule resource for the effectiveness of servers. Load balancing is also a significant part of cloud technology that enables the balanced distribution of load among multiple servers to fulfill users' growing demand. The present work used various optimization algorithms such as particle swarm optimization (PSO), cat swarm optimization (CSO), BAT, cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) optimization algorithm and the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) for balancing the load, energy efficiency, and better resource scheduling to make an efficient cloud environment.
