Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) is the use of mathematical algorithms to mimic human cognitive abilities and to address difficult healthcare challenges including complex biological abnormalities like cancer. The exponential growth of AI in the last decade is evidenced to be the potential platform for optimal decision-making by super-intelligence, where the human mind is limited to process huge data in a narrow time range. Cancer is a complex and multifaced disorder with thousands of genetic and epigenetic variations. AI-based algorithms hold great promise to pave the way to identify these genetic mutations and aberrant protein interactions at a very early stage. Modern biomedical research is also focused to bring AI technology to the clinics safely and ethically. AI-based assistance to pathologists and physicians could be the great leap forward towards prediction for disease risk, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatments. Clinical applications of AI and Machine Learning (ML) in cancer diagnosis and treatment are the future of medical guidance towards faster mapping of a new treatment for every individual. By using AI base system approach, researchers can collaborate in real-time and share knowledge digitally to potentially heal millions. In this review, we focused to present game-changing technology of the future in clinics, by connecting biology with Artificial Intelligence and explain how AI-based assistance help oncologist for precise treatment.

Conventional classroom instruction had already been transformed in to electronic mode of teaching and learning. Use of mobile technology is evolving in global and local context, as in Pakistan. Gaining insights from Media Richness Theory, the study intends to examine how m-learning pedagogy, opens up avenues for students’ learning and enhances their educational performance, endorsed by facilitation discourse and flexibility. In this cross-sectional study, data was collected from students in Private Universities in Lahore Pakistan. Drawing results from structural equation modelling, findings revealed that use of mobile devices is on great demand for providing flexible and discussion-oriented learning to students and lifts up their academic output. Facilitation discourse and flexibility play a robust intervening role in producing pronounced impact of m-learning on learners’ effectiveness.

Telemedicine is becoming an important aspect in developing countries to provide better health facilities. Rural areas in developing countries suffer due to lack of health facilities and face difficulties like time to reach health facilities at the faraway places, cost of reaching at a health care facility, and transportation needed to move around for the treatment/consulting purpose. Telemedicine could be used for safe and quality health by specialists at low cost in rural areas in Pakistan. Telemedicine services could be provided through video sharing, image sharing, mobile services or by e-mail. A research study was conducted to analyze the implementation and to explore the benefits of telemedicine in Pakistan. We distributed 150 questionnaires among teaching hospital doctors in city of Lahore, out of which we received 147 completed questionnaires. Three of the questionnaires were rejected due to incomplete information. The questionnaires were given to participants in the scheduled classes and collected at the end of class. Instructors were requested to allow students to complete questionnaires. The results showed 66.32% doctors of teaching hospital agreed to implement telemedicine for rural areas in Pakistan. 78.9% doctors agreed that telemedicine will save travelling time and money for availing expert opinion. However, 30.6% doctors agreed that Telemedicine will be beneficial for urban community – obtained the lowest score. The enhanced link between doctors and telemedicine can contribute to provide better health facilities in rural areas.

World is changing day by day in every aspect of life. A Smart City is an answer to different challenges such as socio-economic development and quality of life. In the way intelligent technology has brought enormous changes in urban development by altering the relation of production, consumption and distribution, it is now bringing enormous changes to the education sector. By providing technological opportunities for various ways of communication, the relationship between instructors and students has improved. Taking consideration of Facebook popularity in students, we argue that it can be used for educational purposes as well. A research study was conducted to analyze the student’s responses towards the use of Facebook for educational purposes based on a use case of educational institutions in Pakistan. We distributed 180 questionnaires among graduate and undergraduate students, out of which we received 140 completed questionnaires. The questionnaire was designed based on the four variables: Student’s perception, Academic Contribution, Student Faculty Relationship, and Concerns for Privacy and Distraction. The results demonstrate the willingness of students to use Facebook and social media for educational purposes alongside with their use for social purposes. The way, the enhanced link between students and faculty can contribute to the enrichment of cooperation and interaction in terms of connectivity between people, urban eco-system development and Smart Cities.

The integration of e-learning programs into the educational system has reshaped the process of acquisition and dissemination of knowledge throughout the society. Although numbers of researchers approve of the effectiveness of e-learning integration in terms of the innovation it offers to engage with students does not guarantee the success of e-learning programs. This can be observed in developing countries like Pakistan, which have not yet been able to benefit fully from the advantages of e-learning. Though the importance of this issue is theoretically highlighted in research, empirical evidence is scarce particularly regarding developing countries like Pakistan.Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the issues, related to e-learning through the feedback captured from students and provide strategies to successfully overcome the issues. In order to achieve this purpose, a number of issues prevailing in a Pakistani private university were identified through in depth literature review and discussion with the students. The findings demonstrated electricity failure and English proficiency as the most significant barriers to successful integration of e-learning. Lastly conclusion was drawn and suggestions were made on the basis of issues identified.

M-learning is the style of learning for the new millennium. Decreases in cost and increases in capabilities of mobile devices have made this medium attractive for the dissemination of knowledge. Mobile engineers, software developers, and educationists represent the supply side of this technology, whereas students represent the demand side. In order to further develop and improve this medium of learning it is imperative to find out students’ perceptions about m-learning adoption. To achieve this objective a survey was conducted among the students of 10 chartered universities operating in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in Pakistan. The results indicate that perceived usefulness, ease of use, and facilitating conditions significantly affect the students’ intention to adopt m-learning, whereas perceived playfulness is found to have less influence. Social influence is found to have a negative impact on adoption of m-learning. The findings of this study are useful in providing guidance to developers and educators for designing m-learning courses specifically in the context of developing countries.
