1. Optimal timing of recombinant herpes zoster virus vaccination for a JAK inhibitor treatment in rheumatoid arthritis: a multicentre, open-label, randomised comparative study (STOP-HZ study): study protocol

Abstract

Introduction Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors are an important therapeutic option in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, but increase the risk of developing herpes zoster. Although a dry recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV) that can be used under immunosuppressive conditions has recently been developed, its optimal use and appropriate timing in patients scheduled to start JAK inhibitors is still unclear. The present study is designed to clarify the appropriate timing of JAK inhibitor initiation to measure varicella zoster virus (VZV)-specific IgG titers and VZV-specific T cell response in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who start tofacitinib at the first RZV vaccination or at the second one.Methods and analysis STOP HZ (Effectiveness and SafeTy Of Prophylactic Recombinant Herpes Zoster Virus Vaccination for Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients with Tofacitinib Treatment) study is a multicentre, open-label, randomised, comparative study in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who are scheduled to start tofacitinib. This study enrols 60 study subjects in 12 sites. Enrolled subjects receive RZV two times on day 1 and week 8 and initiate tofacitinib 5 mg two times a day at the time of their first RZV (day 1, group A) or second RZV (week 8, group B) based on randomisation. The random assignment is performed centrally in a 1:1 ratio. Patients in Group B continue the same treatment until the start of tofacitinib treatment. Primary endpoint is VZV-specific IgG antibody titers at week 12 compared with those at baseline in each group. Secondary endpoints include comparison of VZV-specific IgG antibody between the groups, changes in disease activity of rheumatoid arthritis, VZV-specific T cell response and adverse events.Ethics and dissemination The study has been approved by the Certified Review Board of Keio (No. 2022008), and conforms to the Declaration of Helsinki and good clinical practice guidelines. Written informed consent is obtained from participants prior to enrolment. The results of this study are planned to be submitted for publishment in relevant peer-review journals.Trial registration number jRCTs031230329.

Abstract

Objective The hallmarks of the chronic inflammatory disease polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) include pain, and morning stiffness in areas of the neck, shoulder and pelvic girdle. The human leucocyte antigen (HLA) gene was reported to be an important risk factor for PMR, but it has not been analysed precisely, especially in populations other than Europeans.Methods Genotyping of DRB1 and DQB1 was performed in Japanese PMR patients (n=270) and controls (n=413). Associations between allele carrier and genotype frequencies were determined for PMR.Results DRB1*04:05 was associated with a predisposition to PMR (p=0.0006, Pc=0.0193, OR 1.85, 95% CI 1.31 to 2.62). DRB1*09:01 was associated with protection against PMR (p=1.46×10−5, Pc=0.0004, OR 0.40, 95% CI 0.26 to 0.61). A shared epitope (SE) associated with PMR (p=3.07×10−6, OR 2.11, 95% CI 1.54 to 2.88). DQB1*03:03 (p=0.0010, Pc=0.0140, OR 0.52, 95% CI 0.35 to 0.77) was associated with protection against PMR and DQB1*04:01 (p=0.0009, Pc=0.0140, OR 1.82, 95% CI 1.28 to 2.58) was associated with predisposition to PMR. A gene dosage effect was observed for DRB1*09:01 and DQB1*03:03, but not for DRB1*04:05, SE or DQB1*04:01. Haplotype and logistic regression analyses suggested a protective effect for DRB1*09:01.Conclusion This study is the first to demonstrate predisposing associations of DRB1*04:05, SE, and DQB1*04:01, and protective associations of DRB1*09:01 and DQB1*03:03 with PMR in Japanese patients. Our data indicate HLA has predisposing and protective effects on the pathogenesis of PMR.

6. Contralateral trigeminal neuralgia arising due to CSF leak after microvascular decompression surgery for unilateral trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract

Background: We describe a case of contralateral trigeminal neuralgia (TGN) that developed within a short time after posterior cranial fossa surgery for unilateral TGN. Case description: A 68-year-old woman with right unilateral TGN was treated by microvascular decompression (MVD). Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage was noted postoperatively, and computed tomography (CT) revealed a large amount of air in the posterior fossa. Sixteen days later, TGN gradually developed on the left side. On MVD around 2.5 months after the first surgery, the contralateral trigeminal nerve was found to be covered by a thick adherent arachnoid membrane with the superior cerebellar artery (SCA) that was stretched but did not compress the root entry zone (REZ). Pain was resolved completely after surgery. Conclusions: Bilateral TGN developed within a short time after first MVD in this case. Contralateral TGN may have been triggered by over tilting of the 5th cranial nerve axis caused by subsidence of the cerebellar cortex due to CSF leakage.

Abstract

Introduction: In the 330-patient ADVOCATE trial of avacopan for the treatment of antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis, in which 81% of patients had renal involvement, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) increased on average 7.3 ml/min per 1.73 m2 in the avacopan group and 4.1 ml/min per 1.73 m2 in the prednisone group (P = 0.029) at week 52. This new analysis examines the results in the patient subgroup with severe renal insufficiency at enrollment into the trial, i.e., eGFR ≤20 ml/min per 1.73 m2. Methods: eGFR was determined at baseline and over the course of the trial. Changes in eGFR were compared between the 2 treatment groups. Results: In ADVOCATE, 27 of 166 patients (16%) in the avacopan group and 23 of 164 patients (14%) in the prednisone group had a baseline eGFR ≤20 ml/min per 1.73 m2. At week 52, eGFR increased on average 16.1 and 7.7 ml/min per 1.73 m2 in the avacopan and prednisone groups, respectively (P = 0.003). The last eGFR value measured during the 52-week treatment period was ≥2-fold higher than baseline in 41% of patients in the avacopan group compared to 13% in the prednisone group (P = 0.030). More patients in the avacopan group versus prednisone group had increases in eGFR above 20, 30, and 45 ml/min per 1.73 m2, respectively. Serious adverse events occurred in 13 of 27 patients (48%) in the avacopan group and 16 of 23 patients (70%) in the prednisone group. Conclusion: Among patients with baseline eGFR ≤20 ml/min per 1.73 m2 in the ADVOCATE trial, eGFR improved more in the avacopan group than in the prednisone group.

Abstract

Background: Treating trigeminal neuralgia (TN) caused by a tortuous megadolichoectatic vertebrobasilar artery (VBA) is not uncommon, but may result in adverse events. We report a case of a brainstem infarction, triggered by obstruction of the perforators originating from the huge VBAs, owing to the sling technique. The cistern was too narrowed to pass the sling safely since it was occupied by the huge VBAs. The alternative less invasive and consistent method should be considered in such cases reported. Case description: A 57-year-old man with typical TN caused by compression of huge VBAs was treated using the sling technique by passing a tape through a fenestration near the VBA junction, because no enough space was allowed to pass the sling safely around VBA due to quite narrow superior cerebellopontine cisterns, almost completely occupied by huge VBAs. The small arteries, originating from the huge VBAs could hardly be identified during surgical maneuver. Despite complete relief of the TN, neurological deficit developed, owing to a brainstem infarction evoked by possible obstruction of the VBA perforators and it persisted for approximately 1.5 years. Conclusions: To our knowledge this is a first reported case of an adverse event triggered by the sling technique used during MVD. An incidental obstruction of perforators originating from huge VBAs may induce adverse events, because an identification of perforators from VBA is hardly possible in such cases. Despite the effectiveness of the sling technique in treating TN, surgical procedure is quite complicated, particularly when cisternal space around huge VBAs are too narrow to pass the sling safely. The alternative less invasive and consistent decompression method, such as a use of strong adhesives to mobilize and fix the VBA should be attempted instead of the sling technique to avoid adverse events.

14. Takaaki Talking: A Case Study of Infant Language Acquisition in a Bi-Lingual Bi-Cultural Home.

Abstract

This study investigated patterns of acquisition of English and Japanese by a toddler, aged 16-23 months, living in Japan. The child's mother and father are British and Japanese, respectively. The focus of the study was on early grammatical morpheme and transformational rule acquisition as demonstrated in the child's utterances. The study is accompanied by charts of transcribed utterances, and these data are analyzed within the framework of recent language acquisition theory and research. Analyses of sound-meaning and meaningfulness, the ineffectiveness of overt instruction on the child's speech production, morpheme acquisition patterns, and acquisition of certain transformations are reported. Results indicate that regular past tense forms were frequently produced at an early age, in comparison with other English morpheme acquisition studies, but that articles usage appeared to be delayed, possibly due to Japanese deictic acquisition order. Stages for negation, interrogatives, and pronominalization appeared to follow patterns observed by other researchers. Sound-meaning association, movement/change, and meaningfulness appear, in general, to be confirmed as key factors determining when acquisition will occur. Pedagogical implications are discussed. Abstract

Abstract Background Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is the principal cause of death in polymyositis/dermatomyositis (PM/DM). Here we investigated prognostic factors for death and serious infection in PM/DM-ILD using the multicenter database. Methods We retrospectively reviewed baseline demographic, clinical and laboratory findings, treatment regimens and outcomes in patients with PM/DM-ILD. The distribution of ILD lesions was evaluated in four divided lung zones of high-resolution computed tomography images. Results Of 116 patients with PM/DM-ILD, 14 died within 6 months from the diagnosis. As independent risk factors for early death, extended ILD lesions in upper lung fields (odds ratio (OR) 8.01, p = 0.016) and hypocapnia (OR 6.85, p = 0.038) were identified. Serious infection was found in 38 patients, including 11 patients who died of respiratory or multiple infections. Abstract

Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), which belongs to the anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitides, is characterised by eosinophil-rich granulomatous inflammation and small- to medium-sized vessel vasculitis associated with bronchial asthma and eosinophilia. It sometimes causes severe organ damage, of which myocardial damage is one of the most important for determining the prognosis. A case of EGPA-associated myocarditis that was refractory to glucocorticoid therapy and responded successfully to rituximab (RTX) and mepolizumab (MPZ) combination therapy is presented. A 46-year-old woman was diagnosed with EGPA-associated myocarditis due to pre-existing asthma, eosinophilia, mononeuritis multiplex, and eosinophilic myocarditis by myocardial biopsy. Transthoracic echocardiography showed thickening of the cardiac wall, pericardial effusion, and left ventricular hypokinesis. Although the myocarditis was refractory to methylprednisolone pulse therapy followed by oral high-dose prednisolone, the disease activity reached remission with the successful tapering of glucocorticoid after initiation of the RTX and MPZ combination therapy. Combination therapy with RTX and MPZ can be a good treatment option for EGPA-associated myocarditis for which it is difficult to give intravenous cyclophosphamide due to cardiac dysfunction.

Abstract

Glioblastoma (GBM) is a high-grade, poor prognosis tumor that is resistant to standard treatment. The presence of a small number of glioma stem cells (GSCs) surviving in the harsh microenvironment is responsible for their refractoriness. This study aimed to investigate the effect of a hypoxic environment on the sensitivity of GSCs to photodynamic therapy with 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA-PDT).Six human GSC lines, Mesenchymal types HGG13, HGG30, HGG1123, and Proneural types HGG146, HGG157, HGG528, were divided into two groups: normoxia (OHypoxia-GSCs showed higher mRNA levels of FECH (ferrochelatase), which is required for iron synthesis to convert PpⅨ to heme, compared with Normoxia-GSCs. Flow cytometry revealed that the accumulation of PpⅨ in Hypoxia-GSCs reduced upon incubation with ALA. However, Hypoxia-GSCs showed less reduction in sensitivity to ALA-PDT than Normoxia-GSCs.Hypoxia-GSCs had lower intracellular PpⅨ accumulation than Normoxia-GSCs due to increased gene expression of FECH, and that their sensitivity to ALA-PDT was reduced less, despite accumulating lower concentrations of PpⅨ. ALA-PDT is a potentially effective therapy for hypoxia-tolerant GSCs that exist in hypoxia at 5% oxygen concentration.

Abstract

Several studies on associations between human leukocyte antigen (HLA) allele frequencies and susceptibility to systemic sclerosis (SSc) have been reported. Anti-centromere antibodies (ACA) and anti-topoisomerase I antibodies (ATA) are found in SSc patients. Here, we sought to identify HLA alleles associated with SSc in Japanese, and explored their associations with SSc phenotypes including the presence of autoantibodies.Associations of HLA-DRB1, DQB1, and DPB1 were analyzed in 463 Japanese SSc patients and 413 controls.We found that DRB1*13:02 (P = 0.0011, Pc = 0.0319, odds ratio [OR] 0.46, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.29-0.73), DRB1*14:06 (P = 6.60X10-5, Pc = 0.0020, OR 0.05, 95%CI 0.01-0.41), DQB1*03:01 (P = 0.0009, Pc = 0.0150, OR 0.56, 95%CI 0.40-0.79), and DPB1*02:01 (P = 5.16X10-6, Pc = 8.77X10-5, OR 0.52, 95%CI 0.39-0.69) were protectively associated with SSc. In addition, these four alleles seemed to be independently associated with the protection against the susceptibility of SSc. On the other hand, we could not find predisposing alleles for overall SSc. With respect to SSc subsets, a tendency for these four alleles to be protectively associated was observed. However, there was a significant association between DRB1*01:01, DRB1*10:01, DQB1*05:01, and DPB1*04:02 and the susceptibility to SSc with ACA. On the other hand, the presence of DRB1*15:02, DQB1*06:01, DPB1*03:01, and DPB1*09:01 was associated with SSc with ATA.Thus, the present study has identified protective associations of the four HLA class II alleles with overall Japanese SSc and predisposing associations of HLA class II alleles with Japanese SSc subsets.

31. CBMS-9 INFLUENCE OF HYPOXIA ON PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY WITH 5-AMINOLEVULINIC ACID FOR MALIGNANT GLIOMA STEM CELLS

Abstract

Background Glioblastoma is a highly malignant brain tumor refractory to standard treatment and its refractoriness is attributed to the presence of a small number of glioma stem cells (GSCs) that survive in a harsh microenvironment. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hypoxic conditions on the sensitivity of GSCs to 5-aminolevulinic acid-based photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT). Materials and Methods Six human GSClines: three GSCs classified as Mesenchymal subtype and three GSCs classified as Proneural subtype, were divided into normoxia-GSCs (O2: 21%) and hypoxia-GSCs (O2: 5%) groups. To compare the effects of different oxygen partial pressures on protoporphyrin-IX (PpIX) biosynthetic activity, the expression levels of PpIX biosynthetic enzymes and transporters were examined by qRT-PCR and intracellular PpIX concentration was measured by flow cytometry. In addition, the sensitivity of these two cell groups to ALA-PDT was assessed in vitro. Results Hypoxia-GSCs showed higher mRNA levels of FECH (ferrochelatase), which is required for iron synthesis to convert PpIX to haem, compared to Normoxia-GSCs. Flow cytometry revealed that the accumulation of PpIX from exogenous ALA in Hypoxia-GSCs was reduced compared to in Normoxia-GSCs. Despite this, no Hypoxia-GSC lines showed significantly reduced sensitivity to ALA-PDT compared to Normoxia-GSCs. Conclusion Hypoxia-GSCs had lower intracellular PpIX accumulation than Normoxia-GSCs due to increased gene expression of FECH, and that their sensitivity to ALA- PDT was reduced less, despite accumulating lower concentrations of PpIX. Abstract

Background Glioblastoma is a highly malignant brain tumor refractory to standard treatment and its refractoriness is attributed to the presence of a small number of glioma stem cells (GSCs) that survive in a harsh microenvironment. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hypoxic conditions on the sensitivity of GSCs to 5-aminolevulinic acid-based photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT). Materials and Methods Six human GSClines: three GSCs classified as Mesenchymal subtype and three GSCs classified as Proneural subtype, were divided into normoxia-GSCs (O2: 21%) and hypoxia-GSCs (O2: 5%) groups. To compare the effects of different oxygen partial pressures on protoporphyrin-IX (PpIX) biosynthetic activity, the expression levels of PpIX biosynthetic enzymes and transporters were examined by qRT-PCR and intracellular PpIX concentration was measured by flow cytometry. In addition, the sensitivity of these two cell groups to ALA-PDT was assessed in vitro.Results:Hypoxia-GSCs showed higher mRNA levels of FECH (ferrochelatase), which is required for iron synthesis to convert PpIX to haem, compared to Normoxia-GSCs. Flow cytometry revealed that the accumulation of PpIX from exogenous ALA in Hypoxia-GSCs was reduced compared to in Normoxia-GSCs. Despite this, no Hypoxia-GSC lines showed significantly reduced sensitivity to ALA-PDT compared to Normoxia-GSCs.Conclusion:Hypoxia-GSCs had lower intracellular PpIX accumulation than Normoxia-GSCs due to increased gene expression of FECH, and that their sensitivity to ALA- PDT was reduced less, despite accumulating lower concentrations of PpIX. ALA-PDT is at least a potentially effective therapy for hypoxia-tolerant GSCs that exist in hypoxia at 5% oxygen concentration.

Abstract

Background Treating trigeminal neuralgia (TN) caused by a tortuous megadolichoectatic vertebrobasilar artery (VBA) is not uncommon, but may result in adverse events. We report a case of a brainstem infarction, triggered by obstruction of the perforators originating from the huge VBAs, owing to the sling technique. The cistern was too narrowed to pass the sling safely since it was occupied by the huge VBAs. The alternative less invasive and consistent method should be considered in such cases reported. Case description A 57-year-old man with typical TN caused by compression of huge VBAs was treated using the sling technique by passing a tape through a fenestration near the VBA junction, because no enough space was allowed to pass the sling safely around VBA due to quite narrow superior cerebellopontine cisterns, almost completely occupied by huge VBAs. The small arteries, originating from the huge VBAs could hardly be identified during surgical maneuver. Despite complete relief of the TN, neurological deficit developed, owing to a brainstem infarction evoked by possible obstruction of the VBA perforators and it persisted for approximately 1.5 years. Conclusions To our knowledge this is a first reported case of an adverse event triggered by the sling technique used during MVD. An incidental obstruction of perforators originating from huge VBAs may induce adverse events, because an identification of perforators from VBA is hardly possible in such cases. Despite the effectiveness of the sling technique in treating TN, surgical procedure is quite complicated, particularly when cisternal space around huge VBAs are too narrow to pass the sling safely. The alternative less invasive and consistent decompression method, such as a use of strong adhesives to mobilize and fix the VBA should be attempted instead of the sling technique to avoid adverse events.

Abstract

This study was designed to examine the relative contributions to EFL learners’ reading comprehension of vocabulary size and phonological awareness, potentially significant for the mainly Japanese university students who were the subjects of the study, because of the transfer of L1 reading behaviors which may interfere with fluent reading in English which is a growing necessity for the ‘global human resources’ Japan needs to participate fully in international society. Since both vocabulary size and pronunciation are known to be related to reading skill, this study measured learners’ vocabulary size, phonemic distinction ability, and reading comprehension ability, all using well-known standard tests. A further test of general awareness of English phonology, suggested by Coulson et al. (2013), was also carried out. The results were then statistically examined for any possible correlations, and what they might tell us about the relationships between these various abilities. Although no evidence was found to support a strong relationship between vocabulary alone and reading comprehension, there were indications of interaction between phonological awareness and vocabulary. A relationship between aural phonological distinction ability and reading comprehension was clearly indicated, and there was strong evidence of an effect for the subjects’ first language. These results suggest that phonological knowledge does, indeed, have a part to play in reading comprehension, and possibly reading speed. This underlines the importance of reading aloud practice and encouraging learners’ to acquire accurate pronunciation when teaching reading.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: The C5a receptor inhibitor avacopan is being studied for the treatment of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis.METHODS: In this randomized, controlled trial, we assigned patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis in a 1:1 ratio to receive oral avacopan at a dose of 30 mg twice daily or oral prednisone on a tapering schedule. All the patients received either cyclophosphamide (followed by azathioprine) or rituximab. The first primary end point was remission, defined as a Birmingham Vasculitis Activity Score (BVAS) of 0 (on a scale from 0 to 63, with higher scores indicating greater disease activity) at week 26 and no glucocorticoid use in the previous 4 weeks. The second primary end point was sustained remission, defined as remission at both weeks 26 and 52. Both end points were tested for noninferiority (by a margin of 20 percentage points) and for superiority.RESULTS: A total of 331 patients underwent randomization; 166 were assigned to receive avacopan, and 165 were assigned to receive prednisone. The mean BVAS at baseline was 16 in both groups. Remission at week 26 (the first primary end point) was observed in 120 of 166 patients (72.3%) receiving avacopan and in 115 of 164 patients (70.1%) receiving prednisone (estimated common difference, 3.4 percentage points; 95% confidence interval [CI], -6.0 to 12.8; PCONCLUSIONS: In this trial involving patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis, avacopan was noninferior but not superior to prednisone taper with respect to remission at week 26 and was superior to prednisone taper with respect to sustained remission at week 52. All the patients received cyclophosphamide or rituximab. The safety and clinical effects of avacopan beyond 52 weeks were not addressed in the trial. Abstract

The aim of this paper is twofold: to examine how present-day detective novels reflect Britain’s geographic, social, and linguistic diversities in a way that perhaps no other single genre of fiction does, and to consider how this differs from those works that are generally regarded as the classic examples in this field. Current writing in this category exhibits various characteristics that distinguish these works from older works, and these features are reviewed and possible reasons for the recent diversification considered. However, attention is also paid to the fact that there are, nonetheless, modern works which seem to more closely follow the model of the ‘traditional’ detective story. It is possible that there are two distinct trends involved, which overlap in some areas to complement each other in terms of filling the various niches in the readership of detective fiction. This is essentially an empirical study, based on the author’s extensive reading of detective fiction, both classic and contemporary, over a number of years. Although much of this was originally done as a hobby, personal observation of the extremely wide-ranging nature of the modern British detective novel led to a desire to examine the diversity of the genre in detail.

Abstract

BackgroundOne of the problems with the COVID-19 epidemic is infodemic. Insufficient and inaccurate information can be confusing and hinder treatment. In Japan, tabloid TV show might be an easily accessible source of information, but its reliability is low and it has a harmful effect on patients’ mental status and lifestyle. There are no reports to examine what is the source of COVID-19 news for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and how these information affect patients’ daily lives and disease activity. By using NinJa, Japanese largest database of rheumatoid arthritis, it may be possible to examine them in detail.ObjectivesTo investigate the impact of the COVID—19 news sources on rheumatoid arthritis patients’ lifestyle and their disease activity using NinJa 2020 cohort study.MethodsAt the timing of collection of patients’ data of NinJa2020, questionnaire about their lifestyle and news source of COVID-19 was given. Questionnaire includes questions about frequency of scheduled visit, going out and exercise, weakness and news source.Results6677 patients out of 15553 patients answered questionnaire. Most patients did not change the interval of scheduled visit. The frequency of hospital visits was “unchanged” in 85.8%, “longer” in 13.6%, and “shortened” in 0.6%. The chances of going out were “unchanged” at 14.4%, “significantly decreased” at 57.5%, “slightly decreased” at 27.8%, and “increased” at 0.3%. 42.6% answered that the amount of exercise did not change, 30.2% answered that it decreased considerably, 26.1% answered that it decreased a little, and 1.1% answered that it increased. Regarding muscular strength and physical strength, 46.0% answered “no change”, 19.9% ​​answered “significantly dropped”, 33.5% answered “slightly dropped”, and 0.6% answered “increased”.The media used as information sources are “newspaper (86.4%)”, “tabloid show (54.5%)”, “family, acquaintances and friends (43.7%)”, and “official web of Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and academic societies (9.4. %)”. Respondents often referred to multiple media and 30.6% of them listed three sources (Figure 1). There was a positive correlation between the decrease in frequency of going out and the number of information sources, and a negative correlation between age and the number of information sources. We also found a negative correlation with age for muscle weakness.No correlation was found between the number of information sources and SDAI, CDAI, HAQ-DI, EQ-5D, HADS (A), HADS (D).Figure 1.ConclusionThe more sources of information, the less chance of going out. About 80% of the patients refrained from going out, the opportunity for exercise decreased in more than 50% of the patients, and the decrease in physical fitness was also noticed in nearly 50% of the patients. Newspapers, tabloid shows, and acquaintances were the most common sources of medical information, and relatively few patients used official sources.He provision of accurate information about COVID-19 was important to avoid infodemic.
