SMEs are the “power house” of every economy. They account for nearly half of the total employment creation and play an important role in sustaining social cohesion. Given the paramount role SMEs play, governments are looking for ways to strengthen and enhance their contributions to economic growth. One of such ways is through the creation of level playing field to allow them participate in public procurement contracts. This study investigates the inherent benefits SMEs stand to gain through public procurement tendering. Data for the study was collected through questionnaire and interview instruments from registered SMEs in Enugu chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture. Sample size was determined using Taro Yamane formula. Data collected were analyzed using frequency and standard deviation while, tests of hypotheses were conducted via Pearson Chi Square test. The results revealed that SMEs expressed enthusiasm and joy that their participation have aided them in job creation, poverty alleviation and getting prestigious endorsements from large firms in sub-contracts. It is therefore recommended that government should keep providing level playing field for more participation through favorable legislation that will speed up payment for services or job done through preferential treatments.

This study focuses on the effect of Corporate Planning on the performance of selected Money Deposit Banks in Enugu State, Nigeria. The study sought to ascertain the effect of strategic thinking on the productivity of employees in Nigerian money deposit banks, determine the nature of the relationship between long-term planning and organizational effectiveness and ascertain the extent to which organizational vision influences customer satisfaction. The study had a population of 340, from which a sample size of 184 was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula at a 5% level of significance. Instruments used for data collection were questionnaires and interviews. 150 (82%) copies of the questionnaire were returned, while 34 (18%) were not returned. The survey research design was adopted which is anchored on descriptive statistics. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and simple linear regression statistical tools were used to test the hypotheses. The findings indicate that organizational vision significantly affects customer satisfaction (r = 0.904; t = 33.201; p < 0.05). There is a significant relationship between long-term planning and organizational effectiveness (r = 0.779, p < 0.05). Strategic thinking has significant effect on productivity of employees in Nigeria money deposit banks (r = 0.703; t = 29.000; p < 0.05). The study concluded that strategic plans articulate the organization’s mission and describe tangible activities that support goal accomplishment. The study recommends that all money deposit banks should tailor their vision towards getting new customers and retaining the old ones in order to boost their market share, through customer satisfaction and employees’ commitments.

Social justice in education is a very diverse and plural concept and faces many tensions when issues concerning inequality are discussed and implemented in the educational sector of any society. It is defined as an obligation to challenge political, social, cultural, and economic inequalities imposed on individuals under the differential distribution of political, economic resources and privileges. Educational inequality is the disproportionate distribution of educational resources including experienced and qualified teachers, school funding, technologies, and books to socially excluded cities and communities. These facts are very much prevalent in Nigeria today. The objectives of this study are to identify the different patterns of social injustices in the educational workforce and to expose the challenges that mitigate the implementation of social justice in both educational and organizational workforce diversity. The paper adopts the methodology of documentary analysis of current issues in the surveyed literature which enhances critical thinking and contextual analysis of issues. It concludes that the teaching of social justice in education especially in today’s Nigeria is germane to both educational and organizational workforce diversity. This is because of the observed apparent cases of cronyism, tribal alliances, ethnocentric jingoism, and agitations for selfdetermination. The paper recommends that there is an urgent need to reform the educational sector in the country at all levels through a higher budgetary allocation to the sector to meet the UNESCO global standards. Doing this would go a long way in bridging the gap in political, social, and economic inequalities among the geographical regions in Nigeria.

Regenerative medicine has been in existence for many decades, and many therapies have received Food and Drug Administration [FDA] approval for wound healing and orthopedic applications. Regenerative medicine is a field that applies biological science principles to promote regeneration by delivering or replacing organs, cells, or tissues in an attempt to restore diseased and damaged tissues and whole organs. There are four main avenues of therapies in regenerative medicine: viscosupplementation, platelet-rich plasma, stem cells, and prolotherapy.   Viscosupplementation: Injection of hyaluronic acid (HA) into intra-articular space can restore viscosity and elasticity of osteoarthritic synovial fluid. HA plays an essential role in shock absorption, lubrication, and the visco-elastic nature of the synovial fluid.     Prolotherapy: Prolotherapy is the injection of a solution to rehabilitate an incompetent structure and promote sclerosis at the injection site. Prolotherapy differs from other regenerative medicine techniques because the injectate lacks a biological component. The most commonly used injectate for prolotherapy is hypertonic dextrose which causes a stimulation of the body’s inflammatory cascade.  Platelet-rich plasma: Platelet-rich plasma [PRP] releases bioactive proteins which stimulate the body’s ability to heal due to its regenerative, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties.      Mesenchymal Stem Cell According to the International Society for Cellular Therapy, the criteria for cells to be considered Mesenchymal Stem Cell [MSC] include: 1. Plastic adherence when maintained under standard culture. 2. Expression of CD73, CD 90, and CD 105 and not the expression of CD11b, CD14, CD19, CD34, CD45, or HLA-DR. 3.
