Samples of the root nodules were collected to isolate different species of the genus Rhizobium from several leguminous plants; Trigonella foenum-graecum, Medicago sativa, Lens culinaris, Vigna mungo, Vicia faba, Phaseolus vulgaris, and Cicer arietinum, and based on their morphological, cultural, and biochemical characteristics, in addition to the identification of each isolate at the species level by amplified polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and using the sequencing of the nitrogenous bases of the 16S rRNA gene, it was identified as Sinrhizobium meliloti, Sinrhizobium meliloti, Bradyrhizobium elkanii, Rhizobium leguminosarium biovar viciae, Rhizobium leguminosarium biovar phaseoli and Mesorhizobium cicero, respectively, (with the exception of bacteria isolated from Lens culinaris) it showed an agreement with the GenBank isolates with percentages ranging between (96-98) percent, as well as drawing the phylogenetic tree to determine the extent of evolution between these isolates and their convergence in the original with the international standard isolates.

The study was conducted in the winter season of 2022-2021 in the Department of biology, College of Education, University of Samarra, to evaluate the effectiveness of some plant extracts on the growth and productivity of tomato plants as well as to compare their use with chemical fertilizers, as well as to show the importance of reducing the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture and the need to switch to clean agriculture to ensure of the quality of the product, the experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of the Department of biology. In this experiment tow extracts were used: Sesbania and Eruca sativa, and each of them had two concentrations (5,% 10%). The experiment was a global designed by design of randomized complete blocks (RCBD) with three replications with (4) pots for one experimental unit. The experiment contains (18) experimental units, which included (72) pots. After planting tomato seeds, the plants were sprayed with extracts, and some plants were treated with chemical fertilizers.

This study included the selection of three stations, two of them on the Tigris River passing through the city of Samarra, and the second station representing industrial wastewater - Samarra. The study period was for six months, starting from October 2021 until March 2022. The study included knowing the chemical, physical and biological properties of the industrial wastewater plant and river water and observing the effect of industrial wastewater on the water quality in the Tigris River. The chemical factors included pH, dissolved oxygen and the biological requirement for oxygen, while the physical factors included air temperature, water temperature and total dissolved salts. The results showed that the pH values tended to be alkaline , ranging between 6.6 - 8.7, and dissolved oxygen showed similar values, ranging between 3.8 - 9 mg / l, and the values of the vital oxygen requirement ranged between 0.8 - 30 mg / l, the air temperature ranged between 7 - 32 ° C, the water temperature ranged between 5 - 26 ° C, the values of total dissolved salts ranged between 210 - 1380 mg / l, the total number of coliform bacteria (TC) 0 - 1100 cells / 100 ml.

Chemical agents included pH, dissolved oxygen, and the bio requirement of oxygen, while physical factors included air temperature, water temperature and total dissolved salts. Results showed that pH values tended to be base, ranging from 6.6 - 8.7, dissolved oxygen showed converging values ranging from 3.8-9 mg/L, and the bio-oxygen requirement values ranged from 0.8-8 30 mg/L, the air temperature ranged from 7-32°C, the water temperature ranged from 5-26°C, and the total melt salt values ranged from 210°C - 1380 mg/L, total number of air bacteria (TPC) ranged between (0.06 – 74000*) cell/mL .

OBJECTIVE Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major risk factor for severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for reasons that are unclear. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS We leveraged the International Study of Inflammation in COVID-19 (ISIC), a multicenter observational study of 2,044 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, to characterize the impact of DM on in-hospital outcomes and assess the contribution of inflammation and hyperglycemia to the risk attributed to DM. We measured biomarkers of inflammation collected at hospital admission and collected glucose levels and insulin data throughout hospitalization. The primary outcome was the composite of in-hospital death, need for mechanical ventilation, and need for renal replacement therapy. RESULTS Among participants (mean age 60 years, 58.2% males), those with DM (n = 686, 33.5%) had a significantly higher cumulative incidence of the primary outcome (37.8% vs. 28.6%) and higher levels of inflammatory biomarkers than those without DM. Among biomarkers, DM was only associated with higher soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) levels in multivariable analysis. Adjusting for suPAR levels abrogated the association between DM and the primary outcome (adjusted odds ratio 1.23 [95% CI 0.78, 1.37]). In mediation analysis, we estimated the proportion of the effect of DM on the primary outcome mediated by suPAR at 84.2%. Hyperglycemia and higher insulin doses were independent predictors of the primary outcome, with effect sizes unaffected by adjusting for suPAR levels. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that the association between DM and outcomes in COVID-19 is largely mediated by hyperinflammation as assessed by suPAR levels, while the impact of hyperglycemia is independent of inflammation.

The aim of this study is to illustrate the opportunities and risks associated with the surge in uptake and use of digital financial service, providing ideas on how to leverage the paradigm changes affecting the overall approach and perspective towards digital financial services on the part of various stakeholders to advance financial inclusion and development. It also seeks to showcase how digital financial services have been used in both traditional and innovative ways to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on economies and societies, by both public and private actors.

The current research aims to test the role of virtuous leadership in reducing organizational silence at the headquarters of the National Retirement Authority, as well as diagnosing the level of the retirement authority’s interest in the research variables and its dimensions, to come up with a set of recommendations that contribute to improving its practice and adoption of these variables, based on the importance of variables in administrative thought. In addition to its urgent importance for the retirement authority and its employees and leaders, the research adopted the descriptive analytical method in completing its chapters and discussion, as the research was applied at the headquarters of the National Retirement Authority. The search was distributed (170) questionnaires, 161) were returned), and (160) questionnaires were valid for statistical analysis, and the research used statistical programs (AMOS V.52, SPSS V.26) to analyze the primary data with (arithmetic mean, normal distribution test, Exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, validity and reliability test, standard deviation, relative variance coefficient, relative importance, Pearson correlation coefficient, simple linear regression coefficient, regression coefficient Multiple, structural modeling test for the mediator) to test the four research hypotheses. The statistical analysis showed a number of results, the most prominent of which was the adoption of the Employment Authority of its virtuous leadership by adopting asceticism and prudence to reduce organizational silence in its negative type and directly improve its positive type.

Al-Barhawee NIK, Qasim WS, Abdlla YA. 2023. Phytochemical analysis of Annona atemoya seed extract by HPLC and their ability to inhibit the growth of Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Biodiversitas 24: 603-608. The main objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Annona atemoya seeds crude alcoholic extract utilizing nine different concentrations (0.0020, 0.0039, 0.0060, 0.0080, and 0.00100 mg/ml). Agrobacterium tumefaciens causes crown gall disease in numerous plant crops causing significant economic losses. Medicinal plants contain chemical compounds (a group of secondary metabolites) known to have antibacterial properties. The result showed that the minimum inhibitory concentration was (0.0313 mg/ml) using agar diffusion technique, while it ranged from (0.0156-0.0313 mg/ml) in the minimal microplate inhibitory concentration test. The crude alcoholic extract of A. atemoya seeds contains alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, tannins, phenols, and proteins, but not saponins, based on the results of qualitative analysis of chemical components. HPLC analysis revealed that the extract contained quercitin, rutin, valine, and camphor which were found in the amount of 33.09, 139.39, 0.061, and 7.43 ppm/ml, respectively. Therefore the present finding suggests that A. atemoya seed extract may be used as a biological control to inhibit crown gall formation in plants. This is the first study of the antimicrobial activity of A. atemoya seed alcoholic extract on the growth of plant pathogenic bacteria.

Background: Preexisting cardiovascular disease (CVD) is perceived as a risk factor for poor outcomes in patients with COVID-19. We sought to determine whether CVD is associated with in-hospital death and cardiovascular events in critically ill patients with COVID-19. Methods: This study used data from a multicenter cohort of adults with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 admitted to intensive care units at 68 centers across the United States from March 1 to July 1, 2020. The primary exposure was CVD, defined as preexisting coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, or atrial fibrillation/flutter. Myocardial injury on intensive care unit admission defined as a troponin I or T level above the 99th percentile upper reference limit of normal was a secondary exposure. The primary outcome was 28-day in-hospital mortality. Secondary outcomes included cardiovascular events (cardiac arrest, new-onset arrhythmias, new-onset heart failure, myocarditis, pericarditis, or stroke) within 14 days. Results: Among 5133 patients (3231 male [62.9%]; mean age 61 years [SD, 15]), 1174 (22.9%) had preexisting CVD. A total of 1178 (34.6%) died, and 920 (17.9%) had a cardiovascular event. After adjusting for age, sex, race, body mass index, history of smoking, and comorbidities, preexisting CVD was associated with a 1.15 (95% CI, 0.98–1.34) higher odds of death. No independent association was observed between preexisting CVD and cardiovascular events. Myocardial injury on intensive care unit admission was associated with higher odds of death (adjusted odds ratio, 1.93 [95% CI, 1.61–2.31]) and cardiovascular events (adjusted odds ratio, 1.82 [95% CI, 1.47–2.24]), regardless of the presence of CVD. Conclusions: CVD risk factors, rather than CVD itself, were the major contributors to outcomes in critically ill patients with COVID-19. The occurrence of myocardial injury, regardless of CVD, and its association with outcomes suggests it is likely due to multiorgan injury related to acute inflammation rather than exacerbation of preexisting CVD. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has unfolded in distinct surges. Understanding how surges differ may reveal important insights into the evolution of the pandemic and improve patient care.We leveraged the Michigan Medicine COVID-19 Cohort, a prospective observational study at an academic tertiary medical center that systematically enrolled 2309 consecutive patients hospitalized for COVID-19, comprising 5 distinct surges.As the pandemic evolved, patients hospitalized for COVID-19 tended to have a lower burden of comorbidities and a lower inflammatory burden as measured by admission levels of C-reactive protein, ferritin, lactate dehydrogenase, and D-dimer. Use of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin decreased substantially after Surge 1, while use of corticosteroids and remdesivir markedly increased (P.001 for all). In-hospital mortality significantly decreased from 18.3% in Surge 1 to 5.3% in Surge 5 (P.001). The need for mechanical ventilation significantly decreased from 42.5% in Surge 1 to 7.0% in Surge 5 (P.001), while the need for renal replacement therapy decreased from 14.4% in Surge 1 to 2.3% in Surge 5 (P.001). Differences in patient characteristics, treatments, and inflammatory markers accounted only partially for the differences in outcomes between surges.The COVID-19 pandemic has evolved significantly with respect to hospitalized patient populations and therapeutic approaches, and clinical outcomes have substantially improved. Hospitalization after the first surge was independently associated with improved outcomes, even after controlling for relevant clinical covariates.

Rhizobium bacteria was isolated from the root nodules of Medicago sativa plants and, based on morphological and some biochemical properties, it was characterized as Sinorhizobium meliloti. We studied the ability of this isolate, as well as that of Agrobacterium rhizogenes R1601, to produce the auxin indole acetic acid (IAA). For purposes of control, both isolates, in the absence of tryptophan-L, were similarly tested. The identification of IAA was achieved by checking the colour reactions with Salkowski’s reagent. Low amounts (23, 69 and 26,77 µɡ/ml) of IAA were produced by S.meliloti and A.rhizogenes after 24 and 72 hours of incubation, respectively. S.meliloti was distinguished by the high production of this auxin (612µg/ml) when adding 0.1% tryptophan to the growth medium (YEM), as compared to the amount of its production by the other bacteria. Therefore, this isolation was used to determine the highest production of IAA at optimal conditions, which reached to 553,550 and 610,662 µg/ml in liquid YEM medium supported with tryptophan-L (both at 0.5 and 1.0%) and a medium supported with glucose and lactose sugar (10%), after 72 hours of incubation, respectively. The 72-hour incubation period was better than that of 24-hour in obtaining an additional amount of IAA, which ranged between 0.6 and 0.7g/l. A spot of IAA produced by rhizobium bacteria was created corresponding to the standard spot of IAA in the thin layer chromatography (TLC) detection experiment.

The use of rice husk ash (RHA) - a by-product of the rice industry - when added in the production process of high-performance concrete helps enhance the properties of concrete, as well as providing a host of important advantages to the concrete industry

For persons working in the field of modern technology, the lack of awareness about Islamic events remains a significant obstacle. One of the numerous reasons why the event gets forgotten on its designated date. This prompted the creation of an automatic reminder system with mobile technology integration. This paper has the purpose of assisting people in remembering their daily Islamic events, as well as serving as a model for informing people of Islamic occasions via short message service (SMS) notifications. As a result, the main goal is to develop an Islamic model that uses SMS to inform people. To develop a free system based on the concept of recalling the most significant events in Muslim history in order to keep people informed. (Microsoft Visual Studio.net and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express) as our main database. The text message reminder system is made up of two parts: an SMS application for automatic text messaging and a web-based application for customer registration and automatic reminder scheduling. The automated method delivered 100% of the SMS messages to the participants throughout the pilot testing. Finally, the system displayed a notice indicating that the text messages were successfully despatched, and the application was confirmed to be functional.
