- Abstract
The objectives, subjects, and graduate profiles of postgraduate publishing programmes in the Ibero-American region are examined. The study analysed 16 postgraduate programmes at university institutions in Spain and Ibero-America and interviewed 109 people, including programme coordinators, graduates, and editorial directors. In terms of objectives, the results show that institutions prioritise improving the skills of professionals in the productive and commercial sectors. Publishing houses also offer training programmes to qualify and update the profile of publishers and standardise the publishing processes throughout the value chain. In terms of subjects, there is evidence of a preference for editorial processes through the use of ICT, which to some extent affects their professional performance. The graduate profile emphasises editors who are skilled in editorial processes, followed by administrative editors with ICT skills, entrepreneurs, and experts in editorial design. These findings confirm some of the assumptions of the project. Specifically, the training of editors is mainly focused on the creation of digital products. In addition, master's level training programmes at prioritise commercial needs, and technical training is prevalent in Ibero-America. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, I identify a list of authors and publications that were edited in Ibero-America and that have contributed to the expansion of the ideas of the social economist Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929). Moreover, I have identified publications exploring Veblen´s ideas and Spanish translation on Veblen´s work since 1944. There, I observe that there is a consistent list of publications on Veblen, with a larger share after the decade 1990´s and whose more original contributions in the region is related on economic development and on the analysis of some socio cultural phenomena, as well as a significant cluster of researchers in Brazil. This study explores how film festivals in Ibero-America manage their external communication. This qualitative research analyzes the perspectives of festival managers and film journalists on the communication strategies used in these cultural events. The primary aim of this research is to understand the dynamics of external communication in Ibero-American film festivals, focusing on how these festivals interact with diverse audiences and media. The study seeks to uncover the strategies used to communicate with traditional and emerging media platforms. The theoretical framework of the study is grounded in concepts of organizational communication, public relations, and marketing, particularly within the context of cultural events. It references various models of communication and marketing to understand how festivals position themselves and interact with their audiences. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing semi-structured interviews with festival managers and film journalists who cover these events. This approach helps to gather in-depth insights into the communication practices and challenges faced by these festivals. The study involved participants from various countries, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the communication landscape across Ibero-America. The key Findings of this work are: 1. Evolving Communication Ecosystem: Traditional media formats continue to be used, but there is a significant shift towards innovative content for digital platforms. Emerging and independent media, including influencers, play a crucial role in disseminating festival information. 2. Festival-Generated Media: Many festivals are creating their own media channels to generate content that traditional media might overlook. This includes blogs, podcasts, and live social media broadcasts, allowing festivals to control their narrative and reach their audiences directly. 3. Role of Influencers: Influencers are increasingly important in the communication strategies of film festivals due to their ability to rapidly mediate information and engage with diverse audiences. Their involvement is often seen as essential for real-time promotion and visibility. 4. Challenges with Traditional Media: Traditional media do not always cover aspects of festivals that organizers consider important. This misalignment leads festivals to rely more on self-generated content and digital platforms to ensure comprehensive coverage of their events. 5. Integrated Communication Strategies: Successful communication strategies often involve a mix of traditional and digital media, along with direct engagement with audiences through social media. Festivals must balance these elements to effectively promote their events and engage with their stakeholders. Considering the practical implications, the findings suggest that film festivals need to adopt multifaceted communication strategies that integrate traditional media, digital platforms, and direct audience engagement. The involvement of influencers and the creation of festival-generated content are essential for maintaining visibility and relevance in a rapidly evolving media landscape. The research concludes that the communication practices of Ibero-American film festivals are undergoing significant transformation. Traditional media still play a role, but the rise of digital platforms and self-generated content has become crucial. Festivals must adapt to these changes by developing comprehensive communication strategies that leverage the strengths of both traditional and new media. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SOCIAL networks , *DOCUMENTATION - Abstract
Objectives: the article aims to analyse the characteristics of content curation carried out by Ibero-American scientific journals of information and documentation in their social networks. Methodology: descriptive research based on the technique of content analysis of digital products, where both a quantitative approach is presented, regarding the presence of the elements studied, and a qualitative approach, of analysis and selection of good practices. All Ibero-American journals in the Library and Information Science category have been examined according to Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR). Results: 60% of magazines have profiles on social networks, although only 55% are active, their preferred platform being Twitter. Content curation predominates in their publications, present in 86% of their posts in 15 of the 18 profiles analysed; at the thematic level, the majority of publications post about the current issue (60.57%); in each social network profile, one curation technique usually predominates above the rest, the most used being Comment (6 profiles), followed by Extract, Summarize and Quote (in 4). It is concluded that a good part of the Ibero-American information and documentation magazines have social networks and that they widely use content curation techniques to disseminate their academic production. - Abstract
The Ibero-American independence, particularly that of Brazil, occurred within a specific context of international relations that some have considered the first wave of decolonization. This period saw a shift in power away from Europe due to the American and French revolutions and the rise of Napoleon. These independences mark a significant rupture that will alter the landscape of international relations, ushering in a new set of states, with one in particular soon taking the lead: the United States of America. CITIZENSHIP education , *SCIENTIFIC literature , *DEMOCRACY , *CRISES , *POSSIBILITY - Abstract
This article presents a systematic review of Ibero-American academic literature from the last decade (2010-2019) that relates education and democracy in 145 texts. We take as starting point the significance of the notion of democracy, its current crisis and the fundamental role of education to overcome it. The aim of this study is to know and explain the state of the art of the scientific production on this topic and associated key debates through the analysis of 145 articles. For this purpose, we analyse the body of scientific literature considering three criteria: type of study, educative dimension and democracy discourse. Though the analysis we identify ways to enrich the debate. We emphasise the possibility of a more open, deeper and critic understanding of the educative spaces and didactic elements associated to democratic education. This involves problematizing the concept of democracy, allowing us to understand its current crisis and the role played by society beyond school. We emphasise the need to challenge the logic that supports most of the studies, especially those that situate education and educative agents as responsible for the democratic change. Finally, we reflect on methodological and collaborative possibilities that expand our understanding of the relationship between education and democracy within the Ibero-American and global context. This paper examines the disinformation and fact-checking activity of ten Ibero-American countries during the outbreak of monkeypox in 2022. Using a mixed-methods approach based on content analysis, the debunkings published by these organizations on their websites between 7 May and 10 September 2022 are studied. The countries with the highest number of debunkings are Spain and Bolivia, with two verification agencies, Maldita and Bolivia Verifica. The outbreak's onset marked a peak in the spread of hoaxes, particularly following the declaration of the disease as a public health emergency. The identification of disinformants is challenging due to the diverse dissemination channels, although Twitter predominantly serves as the platform of choice. The preferred format for disinformation is image text, and the common theme links monkeypox to a side effect of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. Furthermore, the internationalization capacity of scientific hoaxes is demonstrated. Fact-checking agencies conduct adequate and thorough source verification, predominantly relying on official and expert sources. However, they employ limited digital tools that could expedite the verification process. Disinformation regarding monkeypox is closely related to COVID-19 hoaxes, either by resurrecting conspiracy theories or through the dissemination of speeches by well-known anti-vaccine activists who belong to healthcare collectives and were influential during the health pandemic.

The authors analyze political cycles of the Portuguese (Lusophone) world, which is based on Portugal-Brazil civilizational axis. The authors seek to prove the existence of synchronicity and parallelism in the context of the movement of political pendulum from right to left and back within the Lusophone world of Iberoamerica. The main thesis of this study is that the Ibero-American transcontinental macro-region is sandwiched between a “left wave” and a “right turn”, with the conclusion that further continuation of the “left wave” with right-wing fluctuations in the current context is going to continue. As far as Portugal is concerned, the case of the municipal elections of September 26, 2021 is used as empirical material and is subjected to a detailed analysis from the perspective of the Portuguese party-political landscape. In addition, some attention is paid to the early parliamentary elections of January 30, 2022 in Portugal. The authors also assess the development of populism in Portugal, given that in European countries, left-wing and right-wing populist movements are gaining popularity. Similarly, the authors consider the results of the 2020 municipal elections, and political situation in Brazil on the eve of the 2022 presidential elections. We give a forecast about further shift to the left of the Ibero-American Lusophone world, if after the confident victory of the Portuguese socialists under the leadership of Costa the socialist president Lula da Silva comes to power in Brazil, and, as a result, about formation of the left-socialist power pole within the framework of the Ibero-American Lusophony.

- Abstract
For the preparation of this article, a documentary review was conducted on the writing and publication of research papers related to the study of Criminal Law in order to know, through a bibliometric study, the main characteristics of 187 publications registered in the Scopus database during the period 2017-2021 in Ibero-American countries. The data provided by this database were organized in graphs and figures, categorizing the information by variables such as Year of Publication, Country of Origin and Area of Knowledge, which allowed to identify, through qualitative analysis, the position of different authors concerning the proposed topic. One of the main findings of this research was that Brazil stood out as the country with the highest scientific production, leading the list with 66 publications. Likewise, the Knowledge Area that made the greatest contribution to the construction of bibliographic material related to the study of Criminal Law was Social Sciences, with 153 published documents. MONADS (Mathematics) , *CULTURAL property , *GROUNDED theory , *EDUCATORS , *TEACHERS , *VALUATION - Abstract
Several studies have revealed an unequal valuation and didactic approach to intangible cultural heritage (ICH) among teachers in Latin America, Spain and Portugal. To obtain a comprehensive overview of the situation of ICH in Ibero-American education, this study aims to discover the conceptions that educators hold about this heritage typology, the didactic use they make of it and the problems they experience when teaching about it. This paper presents the preliminary results obtained from the responses of 52 teachers to a qualitative questionnaire. The data collected, analysed from Grounded Theory through a triple coding process, points to an asynchrony between the conceptions about ICH, mainly valued as a catalyst of identity bonds, and the didactic implementation of it, in which expositive methodologies prevail, disregarding the evaluative processes. It is concluded that the developed categories can specifically serve the heritageeducational understanding of the ICH, by obtaining a model of interpretation that diverges in some respects from previous theoretical frameworks.

POLITICAL communication , *FRAMES (Social sciences) , *CONTENT analysis , *FAKE news , *PRODUCTION increases , *RESEARCH personnel , *CAMPAIGN funds , *SOCIAL networks - Abstract
Political communication is a broad label that brings together a multitude of topics. Some of those that attract the most attention from researchers are fake news and post-truth, electoral processes, media coverage or pop politics. On the other hand, the framing theory, despite its long trajectory, continues to be one of the most frequent conceptual and methodological paradigms for the study of this kind of communication. Thus, the objective of this study was to characterize the articles published in Ibero-American communication journals indexed in Scimago Journal Rank (2015-2019), and where both aspects converged. For this, content analysis was used as a meta-research tool, thanks to which 175 variables were applied for the observation of a sample of 100 manuscripts. The main findings reveal an increasing production, although the average impact decreases as of 2016, and led by Spanish journals and authors affiliated with universities of this country. The works are eminently empirical and focused on the observation, also through content analysis, of the information disclosed in the press and social networks; a low-cost practice given the scarcity of additional financing declared by the authors. Finally, the most recurrent theme focuses on marketing, campaigns, and electoral debates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
