This article examines the impact of Sasanian hegemony in Georgia (Kartli/Iberia) on the monuments of early Christian Georgia's material culture. It explores how Sasanian political power and influence were conveyed through visual imagery, depicting Kartli as an adaptive yet creatively distinct realm that incorporated many elements of Sasanian art and culture into early Christian iconography. The article focuses on some iconographic motifs representing the Sasanian concept of royalty and their adaptation to Georgian culture, analyzed through both Iranian and Georgian visual sources, as well as Georgian textual data. The existence of the medical tultul of Papua New Guinea is traced from inception during the German colonial period in 1903, as one part in a system of local village officials, until displacement in the 1960s. Prevalence was closely related to Papua New Guinea development and changes due to the world situation, including the First World War and the Second World War. The reverses of several provincial issues minted by quaestors during the Late Republic bear a series of symbols that have traditionally been associated with the work performed by these magistrates overseas. They include objects such as the hasta, which presided over auctions as a sign of Roman authority over the goods sold, the capsa, which held administrative documents, and the sacculus, a symbol of the allowance that quaestors were expected to distribute among the troops. However, the most characteristic and striking object on these coins is without doubt a four-legged piece of furniture, the functionality of which has been the subject of much debate. In light of the numismatic evidence and the role played by quaestors in the Republican provincial administration, the aim of this work is to analyse the symbols present on these issues, as well as to determine, in particular, the function and classification of that piece of furniture, which should perhaps be identified as the sella or stool on which quaestors sat in the exercise of their duties at Rome and in the provinces, alike. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of treatment with customized compared to noncustomized fixed orthodontic appliances. METHOD: A comprehensive search was performed using 13 databases until February 20, 2024. Study eligibility criteria were based on studies that compared orthodontic treatment with customized fixed appliances (labial or lingual) with noncustomized appliances. All ages and types of malocclusions were included. RESULTS: The search identified 95 studies, of which only four fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Three studies compared labial customized brackets with self-ligating brackets, while one study compared lingual customized brackets with labial conventional brackets. There were no significant differences between these systems for treatment duration, outcome, number of appointments, analgesic consumption, patient satisfaction, and the archwire bends requirement. On the other hand, treatment planning was longer and the finishing and detailing phase was shorter in the customized appliances. There was a greater tendency for mandibular incisor proclination and bracket repositioning in the noncustomized appliances group and a greater number of bracket failures, complaints, and requirements for archwire changes in the customized appliances. Qualitative synthesis was applied due to heterogeneity in investigating the difference between the two appliance systems. CONCLUSION: Based on the current limited evidence, the clinical effectiveness of customized and noncustomized orthodontic appliances was similar for the majority of clinical outcomes. Further high-quality clinical studies are required to confirm this finding. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Proper treatment planning and clinical management are the key factors for adequate outcomes apart from the type of appliance used.

Background: Numerous cementless stems are available to maximize implant stability, fit, and survivorship in total hip arthroplasty. Recently, a new metaphyseal-filling triple-taper collared stem was designed using femoral morphology data obtained from over 1300 computed tomography scans. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the radiographic fit and fill of this new stem in the coronal and sagittal dimensions. Methods: In this retrospective review, postoperative radiographs of patients receiving this new stem were analyzed in accordance with previously published fit and fill analyses. All radiographs were taken 6 weeks postoperatively. Means and standard deviations were reported for all fit and fill parameters. Results: Fifty-nine hips were analyzed from 55 patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty. The coronal proximal fill was 85.02 ± 8.06%, and coronal distal fill was 75.21 ± 9.71%. The sagittal proximal fill was 86.51 ± 8.77%, and sagittal distal fill was 59.17 ± 8.66%. Mean calcar collar coverage was 80.64 ± 19.6% and all patients had full seating of the collar. Six cases (10.2%) had a collar length greater than the calcar length, with a mean collar overhang of 0.7 ± 0.4 mm. Conclusions: This new stem demonstrated significant proximal fill in both the coronal and sagittal planes and validates the design intent of this implant. This is the first study to evaluate sagittal fit and fill of a femoral stem. Long-term follow-up is required to understand the clinical impact these fit and fill characteristics may have on patients’ long-term outcomes.

In spite of the variety and multitude of judicial authorities, a survey of the judicial insignia in continental Europe between the High Middle Ages and 18th century reveals a surprising uniformity and constancy both in the particular as well as the ius commune legal tradition. The sword of Justice, the Rod of Justice, the Judge's chair, his robes and book figure prominently in the medieval illuminations. Insignia formed the identity of the judge and served as a reminder of his transpersonal character: the judicial authority was hence represented through the display of the inisignia. The aim of the article is to defend the proposition that the exterior signs of delegated judicial authority in pre-codification continental Europe manifested themselves in a rather consistent appearance because they reflected a common idea of a delegation of judicial authority, which was to be accompanied by the visual transfer of materialised symbols. Uniforms were a core element of the visual spectacle of the Italian Fascist regime and a means for its supporters to publicly proclaim their political allegiance. Initially considered intrinsically masculine, part of the Fascist quest to bolster Italian virility, there was considerable hostility to the idea of women in uniform. By the mid-1930s, however, women were allowed and even encouraged to wear uniforms, albeit in different versions to those worn by men, versions that underscored their marginal position in the party. Drawing on archival and contemporary press sources, as well as memoirs, this article explores the meaning and limitations of uniform-wearing for the millions of female Italians who eventually wore them, looking at aspects like the impact on women's role and visibility in the regime, the symbols embedded in the uniforms' garments and insignia, and women's and girls' experience of wearing them. Seashells and Snails are known and used all over the world. They were used as raw materials for making ornaments and jewelry or as a source of food by eating the live animal inside. Seashells had special religious importance in many civilizations, especially the ancient Egyptian civilization, as shown through the actual use of shells as amulets or through simulations by making them of precious stones or metals like gold as amulets for protection. Shells also had funerary importance and were placed with the dead in the tombs among their offerings to benefit them in the other life. Many shells were found in several tombs in Egypt during the Neolithic period. Shells were a symbol of protection from the bad eye because of their similarity with the shape of the eye, so the early man thought that the shell prevented the "evil eye", where it was used as protection against evil, especially for women during pregnancy and childbirth. There were many other uses for shells, some seashells were used as containers for cosmetics or preserving colors, and some kinds of snails were used to extract dyes. Shells were also used as a means of social exchange or swap, commonly used as a means of commercial exchange. Shells still have ideological significance in many primitive tribes. Society is challenged by a virus that threatens humanity, calling for intervention in private spheres that belongs to different policyareas. Asa result, the regulation becomes like a patchwork guilt without normative consistency. The regulation is ad hoc. Sweden has initially relied on influencing people's behavior through norm creation and not legislation, partly being forced tosince the constitution does not leave room for exemption laws in the same way as other countries. When it comes to formulating policy, the expertauthority, Public Health Agency, hasa central role. Democracy is replaced by meritocracy. Legality presupposes legitimacy in order to function. This is a balancing act between formal and substantive legal certainty. As a general conclusion, legal regulation is most effective when legalityand legitimacy flow together. The purpose of the article is to review the classical concept of customer experience management, to build the theoretical model of the customer experience management process and to demonstrate in practice, on the example of the brand "Insignia", its implementation in the field of health care – in orthodontic treatment, in particular. We found out that customer experience management is a part of contact marketing that is the system of measures aimed at building close relationships with consumers and strengthening their brand loyalty. Using contact marketing, one can increase the impact of marketing programs on individual consumers and expand the circle of customers who are influenced. In fact, the concept of customer experience management (CEM) implies the process of strategic management of all impressions of a product or company. In business, one can create customer experience and impressions in the way you want at five different levels using the appropriate levers. The author's definition of customer experience management is given. It is the process of planning and organizing the formation of the impression, studying its impact on the customer, supporting and correcting the impression over time. The theoretical model of the process of customer experience management is proposed. It is built on the basis of the systemic approach and consists of the following main subsystems: “X” is target subsystem, “Y” is providing subsystem, “XY” is regulatory subsystem, and “Z” is managing subsystem. Each of these subsystems can be described with its own technical and economic indicators (TEI 1, TEI 2, TEI 3, TEI 4), which are integrated into synthetic criteria of customer experience management (TEI 5). It is demonstrated that in orthodontics, while treating with the Insignia brand bracket system, in particular, the implementation of customer experience management concept allows to increase the inflow of patients through establishing trustworthy relationships, involving secondary associations and maximum satisfaction from the result of treatment. Here, marketing of impressions starts working already at the early stage, because a patient can see the future result of orthodontic treatment before fixing the Insignia bracket system as well as observe the results in time lapse and compare them “Before” and “After.”

The accelerated rhythm with which technology advances globally brings with it new ways of human interaction in digital environments. This digital way of communicating and exchanging information has allowed the birth of digital badges in order to identify and recognize an achievement, a skill, a competence, abilities or another matter specific to that relationship. This study explores the feasibility conditions to implement a police digital badge system as a tool to identify, motivate, promote, provide feedback and recognize the competencies, skills and abilities of its members. Using a qualitative approach, this study establishes the emerging categories and subcategories and the main aspects necessary for their design and implementation. Taking into account the results obtained, it is concluded that a system of police digital badges (SIDPo) represents an institutional opportunity to innovate, validate and recognize the competencies, skills and abilities of the police professional in digital ecosystems, facilitating digital interaction with the community and the Colombian state in real time, especially in those events in which institutional achievements are unknown due to the rigidity of official communications. This article examines the royal acclamation ceremonies of the Portuguese crown in order to grasp the responsiveness of the institution of the monarchy and regime to the challenges of modernity throughout the delicate watershed period of the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Portuguese Catholic and absolutist monarchy of the ancien régime had a strict protocol and a set of insignia of power that acted together at the moment of the acclamation and legitimation of each new king. The purpose of this research is to assess the adaptation and reinvention of these insignia and rituals according to the revolutionary demands of social change and secularization brought about by the turbulent period of the beginning of the nineteenth century: the French military invasions (1807–11); the departure of the royal family, court and administration to Brazil (1807); the liberal constitutional revolution (1820); and the civil war pitting liberals against absolutists (1832–34). The new constitutional monarchy that came out of this revolutionary flow faced many challenges of legitimacy, including the test of its capacity to create a modern royal imaginary updated to the cultural mindset of national and secular societies, and capable of bonding rulers with their people. The authors believe that the study of the acclamation ceremonies in the Portuguese constitutional monarchy can give us an accurate perspective on the quality of the symbolic image of the crown, therefore assessing the political efficiency of rituals as one of the structural aspects for institutional legitimization. South Korea has experienced two national public health crises during this decade. The 2015 Middle East respiratory syndrome-coronavirus (MERS-CoV) response's failure to address coordination problems or authority conflicts provided an opportunity to revise its national disease control system before the 2020 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis. Our reflection on Korea's MERS-CoV and COVID-19 responses provides a perspective on public health emergency management. It is difficult to project the scale of an emerging infectious disease in advance because of its contagious nature and ability to cross geographic boundaries. In questo lavoro ci si propone di analizzare, attraverso le pagine degli autori latini, la costruzione semiotica sottostante la rappresentazione visuale degli dèi nella cultura romana; ognuno di loro possedeva infatti qualche attributo o combinazione di attributi in grado di identificarli con maggiore o minore certezza, ciò che gli autori antichi definivano insignia, dei “segni speciali” che guidavano l’interpretazione / identificazione di un signum. In particolare, saranno presi in esame alcuni oggetti concreti impiegati dalla cultura romana per costruire immagini divine nella loro funzione di attributi dotati di una specifica identità semiotica. A Roma vi erano altresì casi specifici in cui il potere dell’insigne risultava traboccante; la marca di riconoscibilità, in questi casi, era identificata con la totalità dell’immagine, così come l’immagine totale era ridotta e identificata con l’estensione della marca di riconoscimento: l’insigne, in questo caso, costituiva l’immagine. Questo ci porterà dunque a discutere i metodi di costruzione, adattamento, prestito e scarto delle immagini divine tra i politeismi antichi, delineando altresì prospettive comparative e analitiche.comparative and analytical perspectives.

This article presents a new interpretation regarding political-religious symbolism in Roman military insignias at the end of 2nd century BC whose removing four of five insignias would be closely related to the reforms to institute professional army accomplished by Gaius Marius. In this case the survival of the eagle insignia is related to supremacy of god Jupiter above god Mars, who symbolically in its origin was also an agricultural god whose religious appearance still incarnates the ideal of duality peasant-soldier eliminated by the new professional soldier. The article offers information related to Suleiman I, commonly known as Suleiman the Magnificent in the West and Kanunî Sultan Süleyman in his realm, was the tenth and longest-reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. It reports how historical reconstruction of the impresa genre, which differs from the emblem due to its distinctive and strongly personal dimension, has led to reconsider the universality of these images, "migrant images" which connect the Eastern and the Western worlds.

King Tamatoa III, paramount chief of Raiatea, in what became known as the Society Islands, wore a sacred red feather girdle or maro ‘ura on special occasions. Reproduced here is an account of the girdle by the missionary Lancelot Threlkeld, recalling the year 1821 when Tamatoa showed him the girdle and stated his intention of presenting it to the London Missionary Society. Threlkeld highlighted the human sacrifices made in the course of the maro's manufacture and the paranormal powers attributed to the maro. Because maro ‘ura belonged to competing chiefly lineages, the discussion below leads to the question of whether there were two maro ‘ura held by the competing lineages on Tahiti, only one of which was the so-called Wallis maro ‘ura. In our times, if one speaks about authority or power insignia and rituals, one usually thinks about visual signs, gestures or behaviour, no matter how durable or ephemeral they are. Nevertheless, the verbal behaviour, the verbal formula in fact, still remain the principal determinants of political power, as it was centuries ago, and they continue having their character of both ritual and insignia. Among many types of verbal formulae, our attention is focused on those, which present a performative function in the act of speech: they create (or modify) a given factual state of aff air, a fragment of reality. They act not only through the principal verbal communication code (speech), but also through its written sub-code. It seems obvious that the linguistic insignia of authority and power have always been destined particularly for social (maybe also political) elites, for the upper classes; the visual insignia, as easier to communicate, were rather (and still are) intended for being communicated to the wide popular (lower) classes. The primacy of language, however, appears also in the fact that the majority of visual signs (and symbols) require a sort of linguistically expressed convention (rules of interpretation), but the verbal formulae do not need any illustration.
