Integrated energy systems （IES）， characterized by multi-energy complementarity， can enhance energy utilization and improve economic efficiency through effective scheduling. To achieve optimal scheduling for IES， the energy characteristics of heating and cooling system networks are considered， and an energy transport model for these systems is developed. By leveraging the flexibility of heating and cooling loads and the energy storage properties of the thermal networks’ working medium， a virtual energy storage model for the IES， integrating cooling， heating， and power systems， is developed. The heating and cooling systems are integrated as scheduling resources in the system’s optimal operation， with the objective of minimizing daily operational costs. An optimal scheduling method for IES， considering virtual energy storage， is proposed to achieve energy complementarity among the systems. Simulation results demonstrate that this method effectively balances the mismatch between output and load using the virtual energy storage system， responds proactively to time-of-use tariffs， reduces the peak-valley difference in purchased electricity， and significantly lowers the system’s economic costs.

Women in the area of science and research in Higher Education Institutions-IES and directly linked organizations point to a state of improvement in the conditions and impulse for the visibility of women in said field. In this regard, this article identifies and enunciates actions to implement and strengthen basic, contemporary and innovative strategies in the construction process for equity and parity of substantive equality of women in research. Undoubtedly, it is a linear process that, in the convergence of the vertical to horizontal transition, has resulted in a progressive advance in the recognition of women's rights through a generational process that configures the reduction in the inequality gap, but that does not guarantee totally the parity, equality, equity and opportunity of condition of the woman in the investigation. Currently, high levels of output stochasticity in renewable energy and inefficient electrolyzer operation plague IESs when combined with hydrogen energy. To address the aforementioned issues, an IGDT-based economic scheduling strategy for integrated energy systems is put forth. Firstly, this strategy establishes an IES consisting of coupled electricity, heat, hydrogen, and gas taking the hydrogen production electrolyzer's thermal energy utilization into account. Second, to minimize the system's overall operating costs, a deterministic scheduling model of the IES is built by taking into account the stepped carbon trading mechanism and the integrated demand response. Lastly, an optimal dispatch model is built using the information gap decision theory under the two strategies of risk aversion and risk seeking, taking into account the uncertainty of renewable energy generation. CPLEX is the solver used to solve the proposed model. After taking into account the effective use of thermal energy from the electrolyzer and loads demand response, the results show that the system carbon emission is reduced by 2597.68 kg and the operating cost is lowered by 44.65%. The IES scheduling model based on IGDT can effectively manage costs while maintaining system risk control, all while accommodating decision-makers' varying risk preferences. Indonesia's high solar irradiance, averaging 4.8 kWh/m²/day, presents a significant opportunity to harness solar power to meet growing energy demands. Fly ash, abundant in Indonesia and rich in silicon dioxide (40-60% SiO2), can be repurposed into high-value silicon anodes. The successful extraction of silicon from fly ash, increasing SiO2 content from 49.21% to 93.52%, demonstrates the potential for converting industrial waste into valuable battery components. Combining these advanced batteries with PV systems improves overall efficiency and reliability. Energy charge and discharge experiments reveal high energy efficiency for silicon-anode batteries, peaking at 80.53% and declining to 67.67% after ten cycles. Impedance spectroscopy tests indicate that the S120 sample, with the lowest impedance values, is most suitable for high-efficiency applications. Photovoltaic (PV) system integration experiments show that while increased irradiance generally boosts power output, other factors like PV cell characteristics and load conditions also play crucial roles. In summary, leveraging Indonesia's solar potential with fly ash-based silicon anode batteries and advanced predictive analytics addresses energy and environmental challenges. This innovative approach enhances battery performance and promotes the circular economy by converting waste into high-value products, paving the way for a sustainable and efficient energy future.

The Internet has become a fundamental means of communication, with the World Wide Web (Web) serving as a universal platform for data transmission. This article presents a study reflecting on the evaluation of website accessibility among Public and Private Higher Education Institutions (ies) in the department of Cauca, Colombia. The study encompasses a total of 13 ies, including 9 located within the department and 4 based in Cauca. The public sector comprises 3 ies, while the private sector comprises 10. Notably, the department of Cauca boasts 2 ies with high quality accreditation, as recognized by the Ministry of National Education in 2021, benefiting 47,561 students enrolled in non-accredited ies and 22,110 enrolled in accredited ones. Websites play an indispensable role in higher education, necessitating free access to information. However, with a rising number of students with disabilities enrolled in higher education, it is imperative to address accessibility issues to ensure a high level of inclusivity. Many websites currently face accessibility challenges, highlighting the need to raise awareness of the benefits of accessibility. This analysis is based on the wcag 2.1 standard, (level a, aa and aaa), which encompasses four accessibility principles: perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. To enhance the interaction among multiple agents in carbon trading mechanisms， a leader-follower game method is proposed， with carbon trading JMO （joint market operator） as the leader and multiple IES （integrated energy systems） as followers. This method aims to achieve low-carbon economic operation for different IES. Firstly， under the tiered penalty mechanism for carbon emission， the operational benefits of various agents’ IES are modeled and analyzed. A dual-mode operation strategy for IES， which includes options for low carbon emission and low cost， is proposed. Secondly， based on the dynamic non-cooperative Stackelberg game optimization framework， a carbon trading model involving multiple agents is established according to the operational modes of each agent. Finally， the decision-making model of the leader-follower game is solved using both adaptive differential evolution （DE） algorithm and the Gurobi optimizer. Case analysis results demonstrate that this carbon trading mechanism can effectively achieve both low-carbon and economic operation for IES.

The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and entrepreneurship. The intermediate objectives were: to analyse the rates of formalization of small businesses, to verify extension activities as a means of stimulating local entrepreneurship and to map the participation of the academic community in these activities. The guiding question was based on the role of extension activities in fostering entrepreneurship. The hypothesis was not confirmed, as it was not possible to make this correlation. The results led to the conclusion that extension activities can disseminate an entrepreneurial culture based on the students' practical experience and the applicability of knowledge as a solution to the problems identified. In order to address the planning problem of integrated energy system (IES) under the goal of "dual-carbon", this paper proposes a multi-objective planning method for IES with carbon trading mechanism based on CVaR (Conditional Value at Risk). Firstly, this paper establishes the IES energy supply equipment model and the improved stepped carbon trading model. Moreover, this paper proposes the IES multi-objective two-layer planning model based on the consideration of carbon trading cost. The upper layer of the planning model takes the optimization of economy and environmental as the goal to realize the rational planning of the integrated energy system. The lower layer model takes the minimum operating cost as the goal to optimize the system operating conditions and verify the rationality of the planning results. Then, the uncertainty model based on mean-CVaR is established for the uncertainty of carbon trading price and new energy output in the planning process. Finally, this paper sets up cases and solves the model using non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II (NSGA-II) and solver, which shows that the proposed method can realize the IES low-carbon planning while guaranteeing the economy. The development of large-scale cluster intelligence will inevitably lead to new problems of adversarial game control. Aiming at the problem of high dimension and high dynamics in the process of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) cluster confrontation game, and the traditional optimal control algorithm cannot meet the requirements of timeliness, the evolution strategies (ESs) optimization method is proposed and applied to large-scale UAV cluster. It effectively avoids the problem that it is difficult to obtain accurate gradients when using reinforcement learning to deal with high-dimensional models, and promotes autonomous UAVs to find strategies with higher performance. First, the confrontation game models including UAV motion, cluster behavior patterns and interaction are established. Second, two UAV cluster game algorithms using the OpenAI evolution strategy (OpenAI ES) and integrated evolution strategy (IES) are presented. Finally, the large-scale UAV attack and defense confrontation scenarios have been established, and different sampling proportions and different numbers of UAVs are fully simulated. The results show that the two proposed algorithms can effectively solve large-scale UAV cluster confrontation game problems, especially the adaptive IES algorithm, which has better performance and shows more strategic behavior for the UAVs, which improves the effectiveness and robustness of confrontation strategies. In recent years, many research projects on real-time rendering have focused on the introduction of global illumination effects in order to improve the realism of a virtual scene. The main goal of these works is to find a compromise between the achievable quality of the resulting rendering and the intrinsic high computational cost of global illumination. An established approach is based on the use of Virtual Point Lights, i.e., "fictitious" light sources that are placed on surfaces in the scene. These lights simulate the contribution of light rays emitted by the light sources and bouncing on different objects. Techniques using Virtual Point Lights are often called Many-Lights techniques. In this paper, we propose an extension of a real-time Many-Lights rendering technique characterized by the integration of photometric data in the process of Virtual Point Lights distribution. We base the definition of light sources and the creation of Virtual Point Lights on the description provided in the IES standard format, created by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). In the process of promoting energy green transformation, the optimization of regional integrated energy system faces many challenges such as cooperative management, energy saving and emission reduction, as well as uncertainty of new energy output. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-agent game operation method of regional integrated energy system based on carbon emission flow. First, this paper establishes a carbon emission flow calculation model for each subject, and proposes a comprehensive tariff model based on the carbon emission flow, which discounts the carbon emissions from the power supply side to the power consumption side. Secondly, considering the interests of each subject, this paper establishes the decision- making model of each subject. And the new energy uncertainty, the cost of energy preference of prosumers, and the thermal inertia of buildings are considered in the decision model. Finally, the model is solved using differential evolution algorithm and solver. The case study verifies that the comprehensive electricity pricing model based on carbon emission flow developed in this paper can play a role in balancing economy and low carbon. La predicción del desempeño escolar en estudiantes de nivel superior, entre otras ventajas, permite identificar tempranamente a los estudiantes que se encuentran en riesgo y reconoer las áreas de mejora del sistema educativo. Con algoritmos de inteligencia artificial es posible encontrar patrones en los datos que indiquen cuando un estudiante está en riesgo académico e intervenir a tiempo según el tomador de decisiones considere. Esta investigación presenta un análisis descriptivo e indagatorio de las publicaciones relacionadas con la predicción del desempeño escolar en Iberoamérica entre los años 2018 a 2022. Se analizaron las siguientes variables: año de publicación, algoritmos, tamaño de la muestra, resultados y factores relacionados con el desempeño escolar. Los resultados muestran que los algoritmos más utilizados son los árboles de clasificación y las redes neuronales artificiales, con tamaños de muestra variados relacionados con el número de variables analizadas, la cuales corresponden mayormente a factores socioeconómicos y cognitivos.

AbstractThis study employed a concurrent embedded design to compare the accounting curricula of selected universities in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe, guided by International Education Standards (IES) 2, 3, 4, and 5. Fourteen universities from different continents were conveniently selected, and a descriptive content analysis was conducted to analyse the undergraduate accounting program contents. The findings reveal that the accounting education in selected African universities aligns with IES 2, 3, 4 and other universities, countering claims of inferiority. However, the universities’ curricula in Africa lack practical job-related competencies (IES 5) due to limited opportunities for experiential learning. Disparities exist in the emphasis on IES competencies, potentially leading to imbalanced development among graduates. African universities prioritise employment-oriented education, while those in America, Asia, and Europe emphasise professional progression. Recommendations include enhancing ethics and professional values, allocating more curriculum space for ethical behaviour promotion, and creating room for practical skills acquisition to facilitate students’ application of learned concepts and facilitate potential remediation.

The article focuses on elucidating the distinctive aspects of designing the environment within educational institutions. It identifies the typical characteristics of design found in domestic higher education institutions, encompassing architectural solutions and functional concepts, as well as principles governing the division of educational spaces and zones. The article also examines the influence of classroom design on academic performance effectiveness. Notable illustrations of contemporary design within the educational environment of Ukrainian higher education institutions are presented. Additionally, the article explores design and architectural solutions employed in educational institutions abroad. Furthermore, the article puts forth original approaches toward shaping a modern design framework for educational institutions' environments. This research aims to uncover the specific characteristics associated with the design of educational institution environments. The object of investigation is the educational institution itself, viewed as a subject for design and architectural solutions. Research methods. The research employed various methods including description, analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, and modeling. The article delves into the distinct features associated with the design of educational institution environments. It identifies the defining characteristics of design within Ukrainian higher education institutions, explores the rationale behind such design approaches, and examines the evolution of design in the modern era. The study establishes the key aspects related to the design of specific educational spaces such as study rooms, lecture halls, specialized discipline offices, and computer rooms within Ukrainian higher education institutions (hereinafter HEIs). Additionally, recreational areas are characterized as a unique type of educational space, providing students with an opportunity to rest during breaks and prepare for upcoming classes. The study presents an analysis of the merits and drawbacks of the design of educational environments in contemporary domestic higher education institutions. It discerns the distinctive attributes within each category and assesses their influence on students' academic performance. Moreover, the study emphasizes the emerging trends that should be pursued in the development of modern HEIs design. The article uncovers the distinctive characteristics of designing educational institutions both in Ukraine and abroad. It emphasizes the particulars of designing lecture halls, study rooms, specialized rooms, and laboratories. With the proposal of global energy conservation and emission reduction policies, the scale of grid connection of Integrated Energy System (IES) is gradually increasing. How to formulate a carbon trading mechanism to guide the system’s carbon emissions and realize the operation of the system’s low-carbon economy has become the main problem to be solved urgently. Based on this background, this paper proposes a multi-stakeholders energy management and control method of IES considering carbon trading scheme. First, a dynamic multi-energy coupling energy flow model of electricity, heat and gas in IES is established. Second, carbon emissions are limited by introducing the carbon trading scheme with a punishment mechanism into the IES control mode. Finally, a hierarchical model is established based on the system trading framework, and energy flow management and the control model of IES under multi-stakeholders is established by quoting mixed game theory. A simulation example is given to verify that the proposed control method can make IES run in a low-carbon economy.

The mandatory confinement resulting from the covid-19 pandemic forced different organizations to adapt to remote work modalities, as was the case with higher education institutions (HEIs). This study aims to determine and contrast the effects that remote work had on the quality of life of teachers belonging to Colombian HEIs during the pandemic from a gender perspective. The empirical study with a quantitative approach included the participation of a non-probabilistic sample of 226 teachers, who were employed by public, private or mixed HEIs and answered an online questionnaire. The results show the effect that remote work conditions had on the perception of work overload, tensions in the mediation of work and family life, and collateral effects. From a gender perspective, it was found that female teachers reported feeling the side effects of remote work to a greater extent in relation to psychological and physiological manifestations that affected their well-being. Likewise, the care of the children of both women and men teachers had a greater incidence in the mediation of work and family life. The results of the study make it possible to demonstrate the effects that the organization of work has under remote modalities on the quality of life of teacher workers, which constitutes an input for human resources practices and processes. La calidad en la educación, en articulación con la innovación como proceso colectivo y la gestión del cambio, como elemento destacado de la cultura de las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), ha permitido identificar su relevancia y adaptación en el contexto del aseguramiento de la calidad con proyección en la sostenibilidad global. Como propósito, en este artículo se analiza la innovación y la gestióndel cambio como dinamizadores del aseguramiento de la calidad a nivel de la Educación Superior. A partir de una revisión bibliográfica y el análisis de contenido de la literatura, se aplicó la metodología de investigación evaluativa, conocida por la siglaCIPP (Contexto, Input, Proceso y Producto), que llevó a la identificación de tres tipos de innovaciones relevantes en el sector y las iniciativas de transformación y adaptación a los nuevos escenarios. Es por esto que se concluye que la interacción de la innovación con la gestión del cambio aporta de manera significativa a la garantía de calidad esperada en IES a través del aseguramiento de la misma en el nivel superior de la educación en Colombia.

El presente texto presenta un primer acercamiento a la manera en que las universidades públicas estatales en México estructuran, se organizan y gestionan las actividades y procesos en torno a la labor de investigación que realiza su personal académico. El abordaje se realiza a partir de la información recabada en las páginas web de las instituciones sobre cuatro dimensiones: a) la importancia de la investigación en la misión y en las políticas institucionales; b) estructura institucional responsable de Investigación; c) funcionamiento de las instancias y programas de apoyo a la investigación; y d) características de vinculación investigación-posgrado. Los primeros hallazgos muestran que, pese a que la investigación se reconoce discursiva y simbólicamente como una de las cuatro funciones sustantivas de las instituciones de educación superior, las universidades tienen una limitada participación en esta actividad en el ámbito institucional, debido a la preminencia de la labor docente

The conjusome plays an important role in the conjugation events that occur in Tetrahymena thermophila. The conjusome appears in the anterior of conjugant pairs during the early stages of new macronuclei (anlagen) development. It lacks a membrane, and is composed of a network of fibrous, electron dense material, containing background cytoplasm and ribosomes. Several proteins localize to this organelle, including Pdd1p, a chromodomain protein that participates in the formation of chromatin-containing structures in developing macronuclear anlagen, and is associated with the elimination of specific germ-line sequences from developing macronuclei. Conjugants lacking the PDD1 allele in the parental macronucleus do not show Pdd1p antibody staining in conjusomes. Investigations were performed using mutant cell lines, uniparental cytogamy and drug treatment, and show that the conjusome appears to be dependent on parental macronuclei condensation, and is a transitory organelle that traffics nuclear determinants from the parental macronucleus to the developing anlagen. These data, taken together with Pdd1p knockout experiments, suggest the conjusome is involved in the epigenetic phenomena that occur during conjugation and sexual reorganization. This is likely a conserved organelle. Conjusome-like structures were also observed in another Ciliate, Stylonichia. In general, conjusomes have features that resemble germ line P-granules. A quantitative and qualitative estimation of groundwater resources is a challenge for water management worldwide. In the specific case of the carbonate karstified aquifer, the high sensitivity of this resource is partially due to its level of permeability. Moreover, the extreme heterogeneity of this type of aquifer makes it complex to define vulnerable areas, especially when fault zones exert a significant influence on groundwater hydrodynamics and transport. Improving the management of this type of aquifer involves better assessment of its hydrodynamics properties. Sustainability and management solutions can be estimated through numerical modeling. In this study hydrodynamic parameter of the fault zone in karstified carbonate environments are estimated from cross-hole pumping test data. These analyses allow the simulation and forecasting of fault zone flow and travel time. For this purpose, a flow and travel time model has been set up using MODFLOW6 and MODPATH7 codes. Inverse modeling of hydrodynamic parameters is performed with the PEST++ code suite, with both the Gauss-Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm (GLM) and the Iterative Ensemble Smoother (IES) which is a recent approach with few applications so far. Simulation, parameter estimation, and forecasts of drawdown and pollutant travel time through the fault zone have been first evaluated on a synthetic fault zone and are eventually applied to a real-world fault zone of interest in karst carbonate environments. A comprehensive comparison and analysis of GLM and IES results are performed for parameter estimation, parametric and predictive uncertainties, ensuring a thorough assessment of results. The numerical inversion approach provided a spatial parametric estimation of the hydraulic conductivity of the fault zone, along with an uncertainty analysis. This approach demonstrates its ability to estimate the hydrodynamic parameter field with a high level of accuracy within the internal structures of the fault zone. This study constitutes valuable and reproducible insights into the simulation and forecasts of fault zones in karst carbonate aquifers. The findings are a step forward in groundwater flow and travel time simulation of fault zones and provide relevant practical help for the management and protection of water resources in these critical areas of interest. In recent years, many research projects on real-time rendering have focused on the introduction of global illumination effects in order to improve the realism of a virtual scene. The main goal of these works is to find a compromise between the achievable quality of the resulting rendering and the intrinsic high computational cost of global illumination. An established approach is based on the use of Virtual Point Lights, i.e., “fictitious” light sources that are placed on surfaces in the scene. These lights simulate the contribution of light rays emitted by the light sources and bouncing on different objects. Techniques using Virtual Point Lights are often called Many-Lights techniques. In this paper, we propose an extension of a real-time Many-Lights rendering technique characterized by the integration of photometric data in the process of Virtual Point Lights distribution. We base the definition of light sources and the creation of Virtual Point Lights on the description provided in the IES standard format, created by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).

Spectral mixture analysis of satellite images, such as MESMA (multiple endmember spectral mixtures analysis), can be used to obtain fraction images in which the abundance of each land occupation class is represented at the pixel level, which is crucial for the analysis of heterogeneous landscapes in which types of habitats vary at fine spatial scales. The objective of this work is to analyze the influence of spectral libraries of various characteristics on the performance of MESMA. To this end, eight spectral libraries from Landsat satellite images were elaborated with different characteristics in terms of size, composition, and temporality. The spectral libraries were optimized using the iterative selection of endmembers (IES) method with the MESMA technique to obtain the fraction images considering five habitat classes (forest, shrubland, grassland, water, and rock and bare soil). The application of MESMA resulted in the classification of more than 95% of pixels in all cases with a root mean square error (RMSE) less than or equal to 0.025. Validation of the fraction images through linear regressions resulted in an RMSE ≥ 0.35 for the shrubland and grassland classes, with a lower RMSE for the remaining classes. A significant influence of library size was observed, as well as a significant effect of temporality, with the best results obtained for the largest monotemporal libraries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study explored the influence of accounting graduates’ competencies on their job performance and how continuing professional development (CPD) mediates such relationships. The explanatory correlational design, through the census technique, was used to draw and analyse data from 115 accounting graduates working in the big four firms and finance directorates of four universities in Ghana. The results revealed that technical competence, professional skills and professional values ethics and attitudes significantly influenced graduates job performance. Also except for professional skills, continuing professional development significantly mediated the influences of the professional competencies on the job performance of accounting graduates. The study, therefore, implores universities to adequately develop all the three competencies in accounting students. Accounting graduates and their employers should also engage CPD to boost competencies for improved job performance.

En el presente trabajo se presenta una aproximación conceptual del principio superior del estudiante y la manera en que se vio vulnerado durante la pandemia de COVID-19 por la brecha digital, la desactualización de las habilidades digitales de docentes-alumnos, así como por la insuficiente e inadecuada infraestructura tecnológica que presentaban algunas IES públicas en México. Para ello se parte de una investigación cuantitativa, en la que se utilizó la técnica documental, así como recursos gráficos y datos disponibles de fuentes institucionales del Estado y de la ANUIES.
