1. Assessment of Inlets Capacity for Inundation Diminution in Urban Watershed

Abstract: Inundation has been highlighted as a major disaster in urban areas due to the emergence of climate change effects on urban hydrology including the deficit of sewer capacity and reduction of delivery and retention times. Furthermore, inundation simulation has been made possible in urban areas because of high resolution topographic data being made available through LiDAR surveys which have provided accurate information on surface conditions. However, recent research on urban inundation has been focused on terrain resolution or building treatment. Although inlets by roads play an important role for draining surface flow, spatial distribution of inlets tends to be neglected in inundation simulations. It is difficult to construct pervious areas in already developed places such as urban areas for disaster management, the spatial distribution of inlets should be considered for the sustainable development of urban areas to avoid inundation disasters. This study aims to investigate the effect of spatial distribution of culverts on urban inundation using Cartesian based terrain as topographical data for a dual-drainage model, and to figure out the proper distribution of culverts combined with pervious distribution areas for a reduction of inundation.

Abstract: Huntington's disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that severely affects the basal ganglia and regions of the cerebral cortex. While astrocytosis and microgliosis both contribute to basal ganglia pathology, the contribution of gliosis and potential factors driving glial activity in the human HD cerebral cortex is less understood. Our study aims to identify nuanced indicators of gliosis in HD which is challenging to identify in the severely degenerated basal ganglia, by investigating the middle temporal gyrus (MTG), a cortical region previously documented to demonstrate milder neuronal loss. Immunohistochemistry was conducted on MTG paraffin-embedded tissue microarrays (TMAs) comprising 29 HD and 35 neurologically normal cases to compare the immunoreactivity patterns of key astrocytic proteins (glial fibrillary acidic protein, GFAP; inwardly rectifying potassium channel 4.1, Kir4.1; glutamate transporter-1, GLT-1; aquaporin-4, AQP4), key microglial proteins (ionised calcium-binding adapter molecule-1, IBA-1; human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DR; transmembrane protein 119, TMEM119; purinergic receptor P2RY12, P2RY12), and indicators of proliferation (Ki-67; proliferative cell nuclear antigen, PCNA). Our findings demonstrate an upregulation of GFAP+ protein expression attributed to the presence of more GFAP+ expressing cells in HD, which correlated with greater cortical mutant huntingtin (mHTT) deposition. In contrast, Kir4.1, GLT-1, and AQP4 immunoreactivity levels were unchanged in HD. We also demonstrate an increased number of IBA-1+ and TMEM119+ microglia with somal enlargement. IBA-1+, TMEM119+, and P2RY12+ reactive microglia immunophenotypes were also identified in HD, evidenced by the presence of rod-shaped, hypertrophic, and dystrophic microglia. In HD cases, IBA-1+ cells contained either Ki-67 or PCNA, whereas GFAP+ astrocytes were devoid of proliferative nuclei. These findings suggest cortical microgliosis may be driven by proliferation in HD, supporting the hypothesis of microglial proliferation as a feature of HD pathophysiology. In contrast, astrocytes in HD demonstrate an altered GFAP expression profile that is associated with the degree of mHTT deposition.

Abstract: EUSO-Balloon is a pathfinder mission for the Extreme Universe Space Observatory onboard the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM-EUSO). It was launched on the moonless night of the 25th of August 2014 from Timmins, Canada. The flight ended successfully after maintaining the target altitude of 38 km for five hours. One part of the mission was a 2.5 hour underflight using a helicopter equipped with three UV light sources (LED, xenon flasher and laser) to perform an inflight calibration and examine the detectors capability to measure tracks moving at the speed of light. We describe the helicopter laser system and details of the underflight as well as how the laser tracks were recorded and found in the data. These are the first recorded laser tracks measured from a fluorescence detector looking down on the atmosphere. Abstract: The Telescope Array experiment studies ultra high energy cosmic rays using a hybrid detector. Fluorescence telescopes measure the longitudinal development of the extensive air shower generated when a primary cosmic ray particle interacts with the atmosphere. Meanwhile, scintillator detectors measure the lateral distribution of secondary shower particles that hit the ground. The Middle Drum (MD) fluorescence telescope station consists of 14 telescopes from the High Resolution Fly’s Eye (HiRes) experiment, providing a direct link back to the HiRes measurements. Using the scintillator detector data in conjunction with the telescope data improves the geometrical reconstruction of the showers significantly, and hence, provides a more accurate reconstruction of the energy of the primary particle. The Middle Drum hybrid spectrum is presented and compared to that measured by the Middle Drum station in monocular mode. Further, the hybrid data establishes a link between the Middle Drum data and the surface array. A comparison between the Middle Drum hybrid energy spectrum and scintillator Surface Detector (SD) spectrum is also shown.

12. Development of Wave Power Generator using Horizontal Motions of the Wave

Abstract: In this study, we suggested the wave power generator using horizontal motions of the wave for use in the coastal sea. The length of the horizontal movement of the wave in the vicinity of the sea surface is larger than the length of the vertical reciprocating movement of the wave, hence the proposed device has a wave power transmission plate. In addition, because the motion of the wave is maximum to the sea surface, by arranging the buoyancy tanks at the top of the wave power transmission plate, it is always capable of vertical movement in accordance with the sea surface. To confirm the usefulness of the proposed wave power generator, we constructed a mathematical model of the wave power generator and carried out simulation using bondgraph. Furthermore, the efficiency was verified by measuring the degree of electrical energy production through a preliminary experiment.

Abstract: Experiment 1 was a feeding trial in which 75 (Landrace ⅹ Yorkshire) ⅹ Duroc pigs with average initial bodyweight (BW) of 26 ± 1 kg were used. It was assigned to three pigs/pen and five pens/treatment. Experiment 2 was a metabolic trial in which 25 (LandraceⅹYorkshire)ⅹDuroc pigs with average initial bodyweight (BW) of 36 ± 1 kg were used. The basal diet consisted of maize (57.71 %), soybean meal (32.45 %), and wheat bran (5 %). Treatments consisted of i) CON (control diet); ii) OE (organic acid + essential oils) (Aviplus-S ® ), that is, CON + 0.05 % OE; iii) OC (organic charcoal) (Olga Black ® ), that is, CON + 0.1 % OC; iv) AE (anise extracts) (RESQ ® ), that is, CON + 0.015 % AE; and v) PB (probiotics) (Bonvital ® ), that is, CON + 0.1 % PB. Average daily gain (ADG) and gain/feed ratio (G : F) were significantly higher in the OE and AE groups than in the others. Average daily feed intake (ADFI) for OE, OC, and AE treatments was significantly higher than that for CON and PB treatments. Dry matter (DM) digestibility was significantly higher in AE than CON. Crude protein (CP) was significantly higher in OE, AE, and PB than CON. CON and other treatments did not cause significant differences in blood l-density lipoprotein (LDL), and glucose. NH 3 emissions were significantly lower in all treated groups than in CON. Among the treatments, NH 3 emissions were lowest in OE and AE. H 2 S emissions were significantly lower in OE, AE, and PB than in CON. Among the treatments, OE and AE were most effective at reducing H 2 S emissions. The emissions of volatile fatty acids (VFAs) showed no significant difference between treatments and CON. In conclusion, this experiment was shown to be more effective on growth performance, malodour emission, blood profiles, and nutrient digestibility in OE and AE than other additives. Abstract: Background Premenopausal women with MBC have a distinct tumor biology, and more aggressive behavior. In the BOLERO-2 trial, adding EVE to exemestane (EXE) significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) compared with EXE alone in postmenopausal women with recurrent/metastatic HR+, HER2– breast cancer. LEO is the first randomized phase II trial investigating the effect of adding EVE to LET in ovarian suppressed premenopausal women with MBC. Methods Patients (pts) with progression or prior exposed to tamoxifen with or without GnRH agonist, either sequentially or concurrently, in adjuvant or metastatic setting were randomly assigned (2:1) to receive LEUP+LET+EVE (arm A) or LEUP+LET (arm B) until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. Randomization was stratified by the presence of visceral metastases and sensitivity to endocrine therapy. The primary end point was PFS. Secondary end points included overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), and safety. Results Between January 2014 and October 2018, 137 pts were enrolled in this study. Baseline characteristics were well balanced between the two groups. The median age was 44 years (range 24-54), 74.5% had endocrine-sensitive disease, and 60.6% had visceral metastasis. At a median follow-up of 32.4 months, the median PFS was 18.1 months in arm A and 13.8 months in arm B, respectively (HR 0.73; 95% CI, 0.48 to 1.11; P = 0.137), and predominant in pts with visceral metastases (16.4 vs. 9.5 Mo) (HR 0.58; 95% CI, 0.34 to 0.99; p = 0.048). The median OS was not reached in both arms. ORR was 46.9% and 28.2% in arms A and B, respectively (P = 0.051). The most common grade 3/4 adverse events were neutropenia (9.8% in arm A vs. 0% in arm B), AST elevation (5.4% vs. 0%), enterocolitis (4.3% vs. 0%), and anemia (3.3% vs. 0%), without grade 3/4 stomatitis in both arms. Five pts discontinued treatment (1 AKI, 1 pneumonitis, 1 liver dysfunction, 2 unknown) but no treatment related death. Conclusions Adding EVE to LET demonstrated numerically improved PFS (D 4.3 Mo, median PFS), higher ORR. Significant improved PFS was noted in patients with visceral metastases. Abstract: Inclusive photoproduction of D*+- in ep collisions at HERA has been measured with the ZEUS detector for photon-proton centre of mass energies in the range 115 < W < 280 GeV and photon virtuality Q**2 < 4 GeV**2. The cross section sigma(ep --> D*X) integrated over the kinematic region pt(D*) > 3 GeV and -1.5 < eta(D*) < 1.0 is (10.6+-1.7(stat.)+1.6(syst.)-1.3(syst.)) nb. Differential cross sections as functions of pt(D*), eta(D*) and W are given. The data are compared with two next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions. For a calculation using a massive charm scheme the predicted cross sections are smaller than the measured ones. A recent calculation using a massless charm scheme is in agreement with the data., 18 pages including 4 figures

Abstract: The gluon momentum density xg ( x , Q 2 ) of the proton was extracted at Q 2 = 20 GeV 2 for small values of x between 4 × 10 −4 and 10 −2 from the scaling violations of the proton structure function F 2 measured recently by ZEUS in deep inelastic neutral current ep scattering at HERA. The extraction was performed in two ways. Firstly, using a global NLO fit to the ZEUS data on F 2 at low x constrained by measurementsfrom NMC at larger x ; and secondly using published approximate methods for the solution of the GLAP QCD evolution equations. Consistent results are obtained. A substantial increase of the gluon density is found at small x in comparison with the NMC result obtained at larger values of x .

Abstract: Background: Although trastuzumab therapy improves survival in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive metastatic breast cancer, 40% of patients develop brain metastasis (BM) even when extracranial disease is under control. We studied whether trastuzumab therapy beyond or after BM was beneficial to patients with BM. Patients and methods: The effect of trastuzumab on survival after BM was analyzed in 78 HER2-positive breast cancer patients. Patients were grouped according to trastuzumab therapy; no treatment and treatment before and after BM were diagnosed. Results: Overall survival after the diagnosis of BM as well as time to progression (TTP) of intracranial tumors was prolonged in patients who received trastuzumab after BM was diagnosed. Abstract: Using an internal inductively coupled plasma (ICP)-type-plasma enhanced vapor deposition system, microcrystalline silicon thin films were deposited as a function of H 2 /SiH 4 gas ratio at 180 °C. Especially, the effects of deposition with/without an initial thin silicon layer formed with a very high hydrogen percentage on the microstructure of the deposited silicon thin film were investigated. The deposited silicon thin film showed higher crystallization percentage at the higher hydrogen percentage in H 2 /SiH 4 due to the high ratio of H/SiH in the plasma. At the same gas mixture of H 2 /SiH 4 , the deposition of silicon thin film after the formation of an initial silicon layer with a high hydrogen percentage on the glass substrate increased the crystallization percentage from 3 to 14%. The initial silicon layer deposited with a high hydrogen percentage showed a nanocrystalline grain structure; therefore, the nanocrystalline structure in the initial silicon layer appeared to act as a nucleation site for the growth of microcrystalline silicon thin films. Using the internal ICP-PECVD, the microcrystalline silicon having about 87% of crystallization could be deposited on the glass substrate at 180 °C with the 90% of hydrogen dilution percentage and with the thin initial silicon layer.

Abstract: We propose a new idea of tracking mirror telescope that observes in space atmospheric fluorescence lights of EAS (Extensive Air Shower) generated by axtreme energy cosmic rays. The concept of the tracking mirror is based on recent development on semiconductor MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) technology. The tracking mirror consists of a large number of micromirror arrays each of which is controlled independently by addressing signals from the active silicon matrix. The array system is programmed and configured at a given instance to be a mirror-concentrator with axis direction and focal distance both under control in real time. When an EAS event is detected the mirror is rearranged to track the event by minimizing aberrations. The detector resolution can be also controlled during the operation by correcting positions of micromirror arrays. In this paper the conceptual design of the tracking mirror is described.

Abstract: A resonance search has been made in the K0s p and K0s pbar invariant-mass spectrum measured with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 121 pb-1. The search was performed in the central rapidity region of inclusive deep inelastic scattering at an ep centre-of-mass energy of 300-318 GeV for exchanged photon virtuality, Q2, above 1 GeV2. Recent results from fixed-target experiments give evidence for a narrow baryon resonance decaying to K+ n and K0s p, interpreted as a pentaquark. The results presented here support the existence of such state, with a mass of 1521.5+/-1.5(stat.)^{+2.8}_{-1.7}(syst.) MeV and a Gaussian width consistent with the experimental resolution of 2 MeV. The signal is visible at high Q2 and, for Q2>20 GeV2, contains 221+/-48 events. The probability of a similar signal anywhere in the range 1500-1560 MeV arising from fluctuations of the background is below 6x10^{-5}., 4 eps figures, 15 pages, 1 table, accepted by Physics Letters B

Abstract: An experimental search for WIMP using CsI(Tl) crystals(KIMS) is being prepared at the underground laboratory, Cheongpyung, Korea. Characteristics and internal background of CsI(Tl) crystal have been investigated in detail to develop highly sensitive detector for WIMP search. The background at the underground laboratory is measured and shielding design has been done with an optimization with a MC study. The result of detector development and prospect of KIMS experiment is reported.

Abstract: To acquire the dynamic response and design the controller of the airship, the longitudinal motion of the airship with respect to the vertical gust, which is the nonlinear system, was studied. The effects of the apparent mass and moment of the airship delay the dynamic response and the settling time, which are slower than those of conventional airplanes. The current object of the airship is designed to cruise at 500~1000m altitude. At that height, the atmospheric conditions are generally unstable by wind gust. In this paper, it has been studied for the case of vertical gust, since the apparent mass effects are dominant in has been studied for the case of vertical gust, since the apparent mass effects are dominant in that plane. In addition to the study of the dynamic responses of the airship, the controller was designed using the PID-controller. When the gust was applied, airship responses were recovered of equilibrium states. However, it takes too ling time for recovery and the speed of airship is reduced. So, the aim in this paper was to fasten the recovery speed and to get back the cruising velocity. The control parameters were determined from the stability mode analysis, and the control inputs were the thrust and the elevator deflection angle.

Abstract: The process e + e − → Z γγ→ q q γγ is studied in 0.5 fb−1 of data collected with the L3 detector at centre-of-mass energies between 130.1 GeV and 201.7 GeV. Cross sections are measured and found to be consistent with the Standard Model expectations. The study of the least energetic photon constrains the quartic gauge boson couplings to −0.008 GeV−2

Abstract: We report on measurements of the inclusive production rate of Σ+ and Σ0 baryons in hadronic Z decays collected with the L3 detector at LEP. The Σ+ baryons are detected through the decay Σ+→pπ0, while the Σ0 baryons are detected via the decay mode Σ0→Λγ. The average numbers of Σ+ and Σ0 per hadronic Z decay are measured to be: NΣ++NΣ̄+=0.114±0.011stat±0.009syst NΣ0+NΣ̄0=0.095±0.015stat±0.013syst. These rates are found to be higher than the predictions from Monte Carlo hadronization models and analytical parameterizations of strange baryon production., Facultad de Ciencias Exactas

Abstract: We report the result of a search for scalar leptons in $\rm e^+e^-$, collisions at 189 GeV centre-of-mass energy at LEP. No evidence for such particles is found in a data sample of 176 pb$^{-1}$. Improved upper limits are set on the production cross sections for these new particles. New exclusion contours in the parameter space of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model are derived, as well as new lower limits on the masses of these supersymmetric particles. Under the assumptions of common gaugino and scalar masses at the GUT scale, we set an absolute lower limit on the mass of the lightest scalar electron of 65.5 GeV.

Abstract: Searches for scalar top and scalar bottom quarks, as well as for mass-degenerate scalar quarks of the first two families are performed at 189 GeV centre-of-mass energy with the L3 detector at LEP. No signals are observed. Model-independent limits on the scalar top production cross sections are determined for the decay modes $\rm \tilde{t}_1 \rightarrow c \tilde{\chi}_1^0$ and $\rm \tilde{t}_1 \rightarrow b \ell \tilde{\nu}$. For scalar quarks of the other flavours $\tilde{\mathrm{q}} \to \mathrm{q} \tilde{\chi}_1^0$ decays are considered. Within the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model mass limits are set at 95\% C.L. for these particles. Indirect limits on the gluino mass are also derived.

Abstract: We present a study of the structure of hadronic events recorded by the L3 detector at LEP at the center of mass energies of 161 and 172 GeV. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 21.25 pb-1 collected during the high energy runs of 1996. The distributions of event shape variables and the energy dependence of their mean values are well reproduced by QCD models. From a comparison of the data with resummed second order QCD calculations, we determine the strong coupling constant at the two energies. Combining with our earlier measurements we find that the strong coupling constant decreases with increasing energy as expected in QCD.

Abstract: Events with a large rapidity gap and total transverse energy greater than 5 GeV have been observed in quasi-real photoproduction at HERA with the ZEUS detector. The distribution of these events as a function of the $\gamma p$ centre of mass energy is consistent with diffractive scattering. For total transverse energies above 12 GeV, the hadronic final states show predominantly a two-jet structure with each jet having a transverse energy greater than 4 GeV. For the two-jet events, little energy flow is found outside the jets. Abstract: We investigated the relationship between resumption or persistence of menstruation after cytotoxic chemotherapy (RM) and disease-free survival (DFS) in premenopausal patients with early breast cancer.Medical records from 872 patients who received cytotoxic chemotherapy for stage I to III breast cancer were retrospectively reviewed.The median patient age was 41 years (range, 21-54) and the median follow-up duration was 6.2 years (range, 0.7-10.4). Six hundred ninety-two patients (79.4%) were hormone receptor (HR) positive and the majority of these received tamoxifen therapy after completing chemotherapy. The chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea (CIA) rate was 76.7% (n = 669), and 51.8% (n = 452) experienced RM during the follow-up period. One hundred twenty-one (13.9%) patients had persistent menstruation without CIA. DFS was significantly affected by younger age at diagnosis (≤35 years) (P = 0.013), tumor size2 cm (P0.001), node positivity (P0.001), HR negativity (P0.001), HER2 positivity (P = 0.010), and RM (P0.001). HR negativity [hazard ratio 1.7, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.2-2.4, P = 0.006], tumor size2 cm (hazard ratio 2.1, 95% CI 1.4-3.0, P0.001), node positivity (hazard ratio 3.0, 95% CI 2.0-4.7, P0.001), and RM (hazard ratio 1.8, 95% CI 1.2-2.7, P = 0.004) remained significant factors for DFS on multivariate analysis.A considerable proportion of premenopausal patients treated with chemotherapy experienced RM after CIA. RM was a poor prognostic factor for DFS in premenopausal patients with early breast cancer.

Abstract: The ZEUS central data acquisition system consists of several centralised tasks which supervise the data taking of the experiment and transfer the data to the IBM 9000/720. The control system ensures the sequencing of the various data taking cycles with 17 subdetector components contributing a total of about 250000 electronic signals. The monitoring system performs monitoring of data taking as well as environmental monitoring with regard to the functioning of the entire detector. Data accepted by the Third Level Trigger is transmitted to archival storage on the IBM 9000/720 via 1.5 km long fibre optic link cable. A fraction of complete event records is also transferred to the VAX cluster for online histogramming and event display. >

Abstract: Anabaena azollae cells were immobilized in synthetic polymer foams and cellulosic hollow fibres. The immobilization of cells resulted in stable photosynthetic oxygen evolution activity and MSX-induced ammonia production. In “trickling-medium” photobioreactors using PV-immobilized Anabaena azollae , continuous hydrogen and ammonia production was observed for one week. In a hollow fibre system, cell attachment to hydrophilic cellulosic hollow fibre was better than with hydrophobic polysulfone and polypropylene hollow fibres. Photoproduction of hydrogen peroxide was observed in free and immobilized thermophilic Phormidium laminosum cells. Characteristics of a “trickling-medium” photobioreactor for continuous production of hydrogen peroxide were also studied.

Abstract: A search for events containing isolated tau leptons and large missing transverse momentum, not originating from the tau decay, has been performed with the ZEUS detector at the electron-proton collider HERA, using 130 pb^-1 of integrated luminosity. A search was made for isolated tracks coming from hadronic tau decays. Observables based on the internal jet structure were exploited to discriminate between tau decays and quark- or gluon-induced jets. Three tau candidates were found, while 0.40 +0.12 -0.13 were expected from Standard Model processes, such as charged current deep inelastic scattering and single W-boson production. To search for heavy-particle decays, a more restrictive selection was applied to isolate tau leptons produced together with a hadronic final state with high transverse momentum. Abstract: The subjet multiplicity has been measured in neutral current e+p interactions at Q**2 > 125 GeV**2 with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 38.6 pb-1. Jets were identified in the laboratory frame using the longitudinally invariant K_T cluster algorithm. The number of jet-like substructures within jets, known as the subjet multiplicity, is defined as the number of clusters resolved in a jet by reapplying the jet algorithm at a smaller resolution scale y_cut. Measurements of the mean subjet multiplicity, < n_sbj >, for jets with transverse energies E_T,jet >15 GeV are presented. Next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD calculations describe the measurements well. The value of alpha_s(M_Z), determined from < n_sbj > at y_cut=10**-2 for jets with 25 < E_T,jet < 71 GeV, is alpha_s (M_Z) = 0.1187 +/- 0.0017 (stat.) +0.0024 / -0.0009 (syst.) +0.0093 / -0.0076 (th.)., Comment: 27 pages, 4 figures, 3 tables; submitted to Phys. Abstract: GRB 110715A had a bright afterglow that was obscured inthe optical by a high Galactic extinction. We discovered the submillimetercounterpart with APEX and followed it in radio with ATCAfor over 2 months. Additional submm observations were performedwith ALMA as a test of the ToO procedures during commissioning,becoming the first GRB afterglow to be detected by the observatory.UV, optical and NIR observations were performed with Swift/UVOTand 2.2 m/GROND in La Silla and X-ray data were obtained bySwift/XRT. The dataset is complemented with spectroscopic data fromthe VLT/X-shooter spectrograph. The absorption features presentin the intermediate resolution optical/nIR spectra reveal a redshiftof 0.8224 and a host galaxy environment with low ionization. We fit inthe host galaxy absorption features two velocity components separatedby 30 km/s, implying a host galaxy with low dynamical activity.

50. The effects of space charge on conduction mechanism in polymer dielectric-air gap structure

Abstract: We have analyzed the effect of space charge on conduction current in LDPE with an air gap structure by employing the modified PEA (Pulsed-Electrode Acoustic) method to suggest a new conduction mechanism in the dielectric-air gap structure. This method enables one to measure simultaneously the space charge and conduction current. The results show that the conduction mechanism is SCLC (Space Charge Limited Current) type irrespective of the partial discharge in the air-gap. The conduction current increased or deceased abruptly when LDPE is exposed to high voltage for a long time. This repeated between high level and low level without periodicity because of the preformed space charge in the air gap.
