EDTA-modified MIL-100(Fe) (MIL = Matériaux de l′Institut Lavoisier) was successfully prepared in situ using an electrochemical method. The porous nature of the material and its high stability under intestinal and stomach conditions present it as a great candidate agent for lead detoxification. Kinetic and isotherm investigations revealed that the adsorption of Pb2+ ions in MIL-100(Fe)-EDTA followed a pseudo-second order kinetic model with a rate constant of 0.0109 g/mg.min and a Langmuir isotherm model with an adsorption energy of 31.29 kJ/mol. The synthesized MIL-100-EDTA showed three times enhanced performance than MIL-100(Fe) in Pb2+ adsorption study. Optimum adsorption was achieved at pH 3 at an initial concentration of 5 ppm and a contact time of 12 h, yielding adsorption efficiency and capacity of up to 86.65% and 3.68 mg/g, respectively.

At the factory of CV. Solo Button, coconut shell charcoal is made by heating the raw material in the open concrete reactor. This simple process results in minimal surface area characteristics and pore size, so the chrocoal is less suitable for the use as an adsorbent. Addition of treatment with degassing using N 2 at temperatures of 200 o C and 300 o C can increase surface area, pore size and number of pore charcoal. The SAA and BET analysis showed an increase in surface area of 6.2% and 93.6% as well as an increased pore size of 14.5% and 12.29% at both temperatures. Adsorption-desorption graphs indicate that the untreated charcoal has uneven surfaces and the pores are not detected while the degassing treatment at these temperatures indicates the formation of micropores from the charcoal. Tambak Village is one of the villages in Mojosongo Subdistrict which has various natural potentials, one of them is papaya cultivation. Although supported by abundant agricultural products, but the community has not been able to optimise the potential of the region owned. The farmers have not been able to respond the market opportunities and make some innovation of the production and marketing of agricultural products. It is caused by the limited appropriate technology, the lack of investment and the limited access if the farmers to information. Therefore it is necessary to increase the farmer’s access to information, support the development of innovation of papaya cultivation, and effort to empower the farmers through a training. This public service activity is a follow-up if the programme of the thematic Real Work Course of Sebelas Maret University in 2014 in Tambak Village, Mojosongo, Boyolali. The IbM team provided technological assistance (scissors machine and cup sealer machine), training for knowledge and skills enhancement in business management of papaya chips production, increasing the supply of the raw materials with the Village Headman of Tambak ( Partner 2 ), expansion of market network, and sustainable assistance ( monitoring, advocacy, education, information ). In carrying out the main activities, the public service team cooperates with the Women Farmer Group “Delima” and the government of Tambak Village. Through the programme, the farmers are able to increase the economic value of papaya, so that ultimately they can improve the welfare of the economy and increase the community skills.

Petani pembesaran lele banyak yang mengeluh gagal dalam usahapembesaran lele. Kegagalan tersebut disebabkan oleh penggunaan pakandan kolam yang tidak efisien serta harga pakan mahal. Tujuan kegiatanpengabdian masyarakat ini memberikan wawasan tentang metode barudalam usaha pembesaran lele yang menguntungkan. Mitra pengabdiankegiatan ini yaitu kelompok pembesaran lele Sungut Emas di Boyolali danpetani-petani pembesaran lele disekitarnya. Metode pengabdiandilakukan dengan metode substitusi ipteks secara teori, praktek lapangan,dan pendampingan. Substitusi ipteks secara teori meliputi penjelasantentang pembesaran lele tebar padat dan aplikasi enzim dalam efisiensipakan. Materi praktek lapangan meliputi cara persiapan air, carapengelolaan air, cara menangani penyakit dan cara memberi pakan.Simpulan, substitusi ipteks pembesaran lele tebar padat mampumenyelesaikan masalah yang dihadapi petani pembesaran lele tebar padatsehingga keuntungan usaha meningkat.

This research applied the liquid biodiesel extracted from Pranajiwa seeds (biodiesel-p) as fuel in Intermediate Temperature-Solid Oxide Fuel Cell, IT-SOFC, with an operational temperature of 400 – 600°C. FTIR analysis of the liquid biodiesel found that the liquid consist of some functional groups. By comparing the spectrum with the commercial biosolar as produced by Pertamina, Indonesia, it is found that there are differenet peaks at a wavenumber of 3472.98; 1872.00; and 724.30 cm−1. It indicates the presence of alcoholo molecules. Composite of Samarium doped-Ceria, SDC, with sodium carbonate, NaCO3, was used as the electrolyte, and it is named as NSDC. Meanwhile, the composite of NSDC with catalyst powder of LNC, producing NSDC-L was used as a cathode and as an anode. The liquid fuel vapourized at 150 °C before come into the fuel cell, and it was reformed inside the fuel cell tube which was set up at 400, 500, and 600 °C.
