Intra-facility patient transfer poses substantial risks of patient falls and care-giver’s musculoskeletal injuries. Several patient lifters and aid devices have been introduced but they have not been widely used due to their bulky size and slow operation. A prototype of new patient transfer aid device has been developed to help care-givers transfer patients safely and more efficiently than conventional manual transferring or the use of powered patient lifters. This study was aimed to explain how the new patient transfer aid device has been developed, evaluated and redesigned to improve its safety, functionality and usability. Both laboratory experiment using a quantitative assessment method and field user research by interview and shadowing have been conducted to evaluate ergonomic advantages and to identify usability issues when transferring patients using the new aid device. Then, the initial prototype has been redesigned to address the issues and improve overall usability.

창원, 마산, 진해의 3개 도시가 합쳐진 통합 창원시는 메가시티로, 행정구역과 보건의료의 변화를 가져오는 계기가 되었다. 보건진료소가 설치되었던 지역의 개발은 역할이 축소되었고, 도시화로 인한 사용자들의 구성이 급변함으로 인해 보건지소와 보건진료소 통·폐합 운영의 필요성이 절실히 요구되 고 있다. 본 연구는 기존 보건진료소 자료 검토, 성공적 보건지소·보건진료소의 통합 벤치마킹, 행정 책임자들의 의견 검토 등을 통해 구조적이고 업무내용 구성에도 시대적 변화에 발맞출 수 있는 최적 모형개발을 개발하고자 실시되었다. 연구결과 대상 보건진료소는 4년간의 3회차 계획에 의해, 부분적 통합과 폐쇄를 제안한다. 또한, 보건진료전담공무원 모두가 보건진료소의 폐쇄를 원치 않고 있으므로 주민의 새로운 건강요구충족을 위한 노력, 건강한 지역 구축을 위한 주민의 참여유도를 위한 노력, 건강에 대한 주민의 관심 유도 노력 등이 필요하며, 업무의 효율화를 위한 정보시스템을 따라가기 위 한 노력이 필요하다고 본다. 지역사회통합건강증진사업의 추진으로 업무내용의 혁신도 추천하는 바이 다.

Purpose. The purpose of this study was descriptive research to evaluate the clinical competency and nursing professionalism values before and after nursing clinical practice in nursing students. Methods. The data collected from 100 nursing students by the study period was from December 10, 2013 ~ November 12, 2014 to measure the performance and clinical care professional intuition. The collected data were analyzed by paired t-test, ANOVA, correlation. Results. Clinical practice before performance was 3.48(±.38), after practice 3.79(±.40) was a professional nursing practice before intuition 3.90(±.41), after the practice was 3.74(±.40), clinical performance and the nursing profession is positive found to be correlated. Conclusions. This study suggests that development of research programs to improve care professional intuition in nursing college is necessary as results. Purpose: We developed and tested the effects of a coping skill training program for caregivers in feeding difficulty among older adults with dementia in long-term care facilities. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects comprised 34 caregivers (experimental group: 17, control group: 17) and 40 older adults with dementia (experimental group: 20, control group: 20). The developed program was delivered in 4-hour sessions over 6 weeks (including 2 weeks of lectures and lab practice on feeding difficulty coping skills, and 4 weeks of field practice). Data were collected before, immediately after, and 4 weeks after the program (January 3 to April 6, 2016). The data were analyzed using t-test and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS/WIN 20.0. Results: Compared to their counterparts in the control group, caregivers in the experimental group showed a significantly greater improvement in feeding knowledge and feeding behavior, while older adults with dementia showed greater improvements in feeding difficulty and Body Mass Index. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that this coping skill training program for caregivers in feeding difficulty is an effective intervention for older adults with dementia in long-term care facilities.

This study aims to investigate the effects of abdominal massage on constipation in institutionalized elderly. A randomized cross-over design including 15 participants was conducted in M city on 2008. The sample group received abdominal massage program. Abdominal massage was performed as 10-minutes per day, 6 days per week, for 2 weeks. Data was collected and assessed 4 times about frequencies of bowel movements per week, stool consistency, degree of difficulty with defecation, and time required for defecation; a week before the experiment, the first week and the second week for experiment and a week after the experiment. The statistical methods included Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, t-test and paired t-test using SPSS 13.0. Frequencies of bowel movements per week, degree of difficulty with defecation, and time required for defecation were significantly different between the experimental group and the control group. The results of this small study suggest a positive effects of the relieving constipation of the institutionlized elderly.

Between July 2011 and November 2012, 69 inpatients with stroke in K rehabilitation hospital were participated under voluntarily signing the informed consent form. STS test and 10m walk test (10MWT) were used to assess the muscle strength of lower-extremity and walking velocity, respectively. Also, we tested dynamic balance and motor function of lower-extremity in affected-side using with the Berg balance scale (BBS) and the Fugl-Meyer assessment of lower extremity (FM-L/E).
