DIGITAL technology , *VIRTUAL reality , *HERITAGE tourism , *AUGMENTED reality , *TOURIST attractions , *CONSUMER behavior - Abstract
The current situation is not favorable for the stellar opening of tourism destinations. Travel and tourism losses are limited to the few people and tourists to the local community; many dependents affect the current crises. That will lead many parts of the world to find alternative options for the tourism industry's survival. Technological development is significantly inspiring many fields and commercial sectors within the COVID-19 outbreak. Research on the use of digital technologies in tourism is now established as an academic field, and the number and quality of publications are increasing rapidly. This trend is also noticeable in the global healthcare concerns after the COVID-19 pandemic, where the technology market is expected to expand. In the tourism industry, digital tourism documentation contributes to the development of destinations. The virtual environment encourages consumers to visit the destination. In addition, the second category of literature involves research related to virtual reality. The virtual environment has technically changed the configuration of the entire industry, and the world is very interesting. The virtual environment purely dominates the world of games, movies, and multimedia-related industries. In recent years, consumer perception behavior has been primarily affected by virtual reality. However, the tourism industry also pointed out in the literature that the development of tourism behavior through digital tourism is mainly cultural and heritage tourism. The results of the survey mainly deal with the motivating factors for the use of digital technology in the environment related to the development of tourism. Furthermore, research related to virtual reality emphasizes experimental research and few articles involve exploratory research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ECONOMIC impact ,TOURISM ,TOURIST attractions ,SERVICE industries ,HISTORIC sites ,UNEMPLOYMENT statistics - Abstract
Malaysia have many cultural heritage sites that become attractions for the development of tourism and technology. This study aims to determine whether tax, exchange rate, unemployment rate, and energy use in Malaysia could affect the tourism sector. Although gross domestic product (GDP) could be used to replace human development in monitoring economic progress and human well-being in relation to tourism, this definition is narrow and focuses on the economic side, and ignores social and cultural factors. The results show that the known relationship could act as a guide for policymakers in achieving greater social and cultural development in order to encourage growth. The methodology employed in this study appears to be very useful for policymakers in developing new approaches to improving the various factors influencing Malaysia's regional and global tourism industry demand for the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2020. In addition, the study provided well-considered policies to increase long-term improvements in the tourism, exchange rate, and service sectors through effective resource management and intelligent resource usage in the tourism industry. The prosperity of the students has become a key factor in the financial development of the country. In any case, so far, most universities have faced one of the most important problems to solve, which is the lack of knowledge of the number of graduates. This article focuses on the supervision of doctoral students through open and distance educational models using information and communication technologies (ICT). Innovation in information and communication technologies (ICT) has created a new dimension of learning, providing a variety of tools and technologies. Especially for educators, you can clarify specific aspects of the activities so that they can learn, record, discuss and evaluate. Many educational institutions are trying to integrate new information and communication technologies into current curricula or develop new learning paradigms. E-learning is a new stage of education that uses e-mail, chat, websites, video conferencing, and other technologies to enhance and promote student learning. This epidemic has brought recent changes and destruction to the education sector, which is a catalyst for the development of any country. The global education sector is seen as turning to e-learning to alleviate the impact of this epidemic. About one-fifth of four-year schools have a graduation rate of less than 33% for the first full-time students to earn a freshman degree in six years. Mentor support is one of the key elements to encourage students to graduate on time. Support is emphasized as one of the important factors for student success and perseverance. In this study, testing the null hypothesis of the relationship between supervisor support and graduation on time (GOT) found that the hypothesis was accepted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUSTAINABILITY , *GREEN technology , *SUSTAINABLE consumption , *GREEN products ,DEVELOPED countries ,DEVELOPING countries - Abstract
Over the recent decades, green technology policy has been widely discussed amongst academic scholars, industrial practitioners and policy makers. It is still considered as one of the significant features in regards to global sustainable consumption and production in many countries. Malaysia is no exception, to which the concept of green technology is still in its infancy as compared to that of developed nations. To this day, green technology, and inevitably its policies, have faced obstacles such as a lack of local expertise and minimal government initiatives, which in turn results in a lack of market demand towards sustainable production and consumption of green products and services. This article provides a comprehensive review of green technology and related policies that could provide a basis for further research in addressing the said concerns. Three questions are proposed in this paper, creating the foundation for conducting a research with regards to the importance of green technology policy within Malaysia, the challenges faced in its implementation, as well as its effectiveness against that of other developing countries. This in turn could potentially contribute towards the nation's progressive growth of national sustainable consumption and production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUSTAINABILITY , *ENVIRONMENTAL health , *COMMUNITIES , *PEARSON correlation (Statistics) , *MULTIVARIATE analysis , *MULTIPLE regression analysis - Abstract
Energy consumption and carbon emissions in Malaysia have gradually increased as the Malaysian economy and population have expanded rapidly. The behavior of people has a substantial impact on the consumption of energy and carbon emissions. To reduce carbon emissions efficiently while preserving economic growth, various countries have begun to look for new development pathways that have been widely promoted for low-carbon communities. In fact, in the formulation of energy-related policies and the operation of the energy market, the public has an active role to play. This study presents an assessment of public awareness, acceptance, and attitudes toward the sustainability of environmental health in order to develop low-carbon communities by focusing on 100 respondents in Malaysia. A survey method is employed to collect data where a structured questionnaire was distributed in the Klang Valley area. The quantitative data obtained from the respondents were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. The research findings reveal a significant relationship between the dependent variable (sustainability of environmental health) and the three independent variables of environmental awareness, acceptance, and attitudes, where environmental awareness serves as a strong predictor of the sustainability of environmental health, followed by attitude and acceptance. It is therefore important to examine public environmental awareness, acceptance, and attitudes towards the sustainability of environmental health in order to provide insights required for successful Malaysia policy formulation. ORGANIZATIONAL performance ,GREEN technology ,COMPETITIVE advantage in business - Abstract
The manufacturing business activities, operations and decisions are highly influenced by the current trend on green technology practices, which emerged from the sustainability concept. In the interest of enhancing sustainability development, the need to adopt green technology practices (GTP) is crucial for firms to considered. Prominent scholars in the sustainability studies had found a positive relationship between sustainability practices and firm performance. The aims of this paper is to analyse GTP's effects toward firm performance and the mediation effects of GTP through green technology drivers. Data were collected from 280 Malaysian manufacturing firms to empirically examine the relationships that existed among green technology drivers, GTP and firm performance. Utilizing the SEM-AMOS procedures, the study revealed that two green technology drivers (resource availability and market dynamics) have positive effect on GTP and it fully mediated the link between GTP and performance. Thus, the empirical results confirmed the effects of green technology drivers and GTP in enhancing firm performance. Hence, this research urged that firms should strengthen the practices related to green initiatives internally rather than focusing on external environment to improve firm performance. Furthermore, firms should clearly define the types of GTP that fit to their long term strategic goal with concurrent enhancement to the firm's green sustainable competitive advantage. Since 1987, Malaysia has been recognised as one of the endorsers of several international agreements that highlight the greenhouse gas emission reduction 1987, and among them are Kyoto Protocol 1992, Cancun Agreements 2010, Montreal Protocol 1987, and Copenhagen Accord 2009. This study investigates the national initiative in making the transport sector go green with electric vehicles alternative by focusing on environmental awareness, consumer attitude, and perceived knowledge. The Malaysian government introduced the National Transport Policy (NTP) 2019-2030. It is the Malaysian government's objective to ensure the services provided are reliable, safe, affordable, and sustainable transport services. The descriptive statistical analysis is for data analysis expressed the quantity of the perception that is partly required to mention the objective based on the information that is gathered. The analysis is performed by the descriptive analysis to research out the statistics of each variable involved here which is consumer attitude and perceived knowledge. Lastly, the green initiative is not a new issue in Malaysia. The only thing that distorts the green initiative development is the costs and financial implications that might be detrimental to the Malaysian economy. However, with the continuous support and encouragement from Malaysian citizens, it could motivate the government to keep going with this initiative and fulfilling the NTP objectives. COVID-19 pandemic ,GREEN products ,CONSUMER expertise ,ORGANIC products ,ENVIRONMENTAL indicators ,PSYCHOLOGICAL feedback - Abstract
People around the world are now aware about the environment, in 2020 many have witnessed that creatures are taking over the land of human. The lockdown has made human switch places with the creature, where animals are freely to roaming around while human are staying inside to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The silver lining is that the mother nature is recovering from the decades of pollution. Despite that, the current healthy environment should be maintained in the horizon as business are making their come back from the quarantine period. This research enables us to understand that consumer knowledge on the green product is great in giving positive influence toward environmental awareness. 100 respondents were able to give feedback in this study using snowball sampling technique, and result show that that consumer knowledge on green product have significant relationship towards environmental awareness (r=0.580, p<0.05). The analysis involve in this study were Spearman Rho and simple linear regression. This shows that consumer knowledge is very important towards environmental awareness and if public are all aware about knowledge on the green product it may lead to a better green world. This research suggests that increasing public knowledge on green product would be the best to insert as one of the indicators for Environmental Performance Index (EPI). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SERVICE industries ,REGRESSION analysis ,TOURISM ,SUSTAINABLE development ,POLLUTION ,TIME series analysis - Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the environmental impact of service sector growth on the tourism performance. The importance of tourism industry and the concept and dimensions of service sectors was reviewed initially and then the environmental impact of service sector in tourism was studied specifically. Upon examining the study, a yearly time series data from the period of 1995 to 2018 of Malaysia were used. Models, methods or analysis such as Descriptive Statistic Analysis, Correlation of Variables, Residual Plot, Normality Plot and regression analysis test. This empirical results proof that this outcome has demonstrated that higher mean will result higher standard deviation and vice versa. On the other hand, Correlation of Variables showed positive relationship between tourism performance and service sector growth level with all the variables. For the regression analysis the value of coefficient determined the positive relationship between those variables to the tourism performance in Malaysia. The results extracted from regression test indicated that tourism growth, all variables at level seems to be stationary a significance of 5%. Lastly, environmental impact of service sector has significant influence on tourism performance in Malaysia. Empirical findings suggest that economic policy reforms are required to channelize environmental of service sector to increase tourism performance. The governments should pull out policies on tourism, service sector and the environmental issues in order to achieve sustainable economic growth and development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Nasi lemak is one of the traditional foods that has a significant role in the life of Malaysian society. This paper investigated the factors (food safety, emotional experience, health behaviour) that influence the purchase intention of nasi lemak among Malaysians. Survey method was applied in this study. The theoretical framework is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The data were collected from 718 convenience sample using 5-point Likert scale items. Smart PLS was applied to analyse the data. The study revealed the existence of a positive and significant relationship between Emotional experience and health behaviour towards the purchase intention of nasi lemak. It also shows that food safety does not have a significant influence on the purchase intention of nasi lemak. This study adds to the body of knowledge on nasi lemak purchase intent by improving our understanding of consumers' emotional experiences and health behaviours. Only emotional experience and health behaviour were found to have a substantial favourable effect on nasi lemak purchasing intention in Malaysian culture in this study. These findings suggest that by stressing their distinctive benefits and environmentally friendly method, nasi lemak may better match the emotional value and health behaviour of consumers. We also found that food safety has no bearing on nasi lemak buying intent in this study. Other traditional meals should be studied in the future to understand what aspects influence Malaysians' purchasing intentions. Furthermore, this study adds to the knowledge of consumer intent to purchase nasi lemak in developing and rising countries by contributing to the literature on food consumption. In the developing Malaysian scenario, it enables an enlarged TPB model for forecasting nasi lemak purchasing intent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
