The Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare is the newest trend in the healthcare market. IoT allows healthcare providers to expand their reach beyond the usual clinical environment. They are driven to maximize the possibilities of digitally linked healthcare services to improve the user experience, diagnostic accuracy, and communication among healthcare professionals. Sensors, wearables, and health monitors have made healthcare cheaper, faster, and more effective. Despite the privileges of the IoT in healthcare services, the adoption rate of these services is still in the early stages. The aim of this research was to examine the adoption of IoT-enabled healthcare services among Malaysian chronic patients. To achieve this purpose, the study offered an integrated framework to investigate the influence of the identified factors on Behavioural Intention (BI) to adopt IoT healthcare services. The novelty lies in combining the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the Theory of Organizational Environments for Technology Adoption (TOE), and the Social Exchange Theory (SE). Patients in Malaysia dealing with chronic illnesses were the subjects of an online survey. Eleven predicted predictive constructs' impacts were investigated using partial least square structural equation modeling. The findings revealed that individual and technological factors and their dimensions, significantly affected chronic disease patients’ BI toward IoT-healthcare services adoption. Similar results were observed for the effect of BI on Use Behaviour (UB). Meanwhile, trust partially mediated the effect of individual and technological-related factors on BI.

Objectives: In 2018, a nationwide mandatory switch from originator to biosimilar adalimumab was conducted in Denmark. The available biosimilar was GP2017 (Hyrimoz) in Eastern regions and SB5 (Imraldi) in Western regions. We aimed to assess the comparative effectiveness of GP2017 versus SB5 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)/psoriatic arthritis (PsA)/axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA). Methods: Observational cohort study based on the DANBIO registry with geographical cluster pseudo-randomisation, analysed by emulating a randomised clinical trial. Main outcome was adjusted 1-year treatment retention (Cox regression). Furthermore, 6 months' remission rates (logistic regression), reasons for withdrawal and back-switching to originator were investigated (overall and stratified by indication). Results: Overall, of 1570 eligible patients, 1318 switched and were included (467 RA/321 PsA/530 AxSpA); 623 (47%) switched to GP2017, 695 (53%) to SB5. Baseline characteristics of the two clusters were largely similar, but some differences in registration practice were observed. The combined 1-year retention rate for the two biosimilars was 89.5%. Compared with SB5, estimated risk of withdrawal for GP2017 was lower (HR 0.60; 95% CI 0.42 to 0.86) and 6 months' remission rate was higher (OR 1.72; 95% CI 1.25 to 2.37). Stratified analyses gave similar results (statistically significant for RA). During 1 year, 8.5% and 12.9% withdrew GP2017 and SB5, respectively (primarily lack of effect and adverse events), of whom 48 patients (3.6%) back-switched. Conclusion: This head-to-head comparison of GP2017 versus SB5 following a mandatory switch from the originator indicated differences in effectiveness in routine care. This may reflect a true difference, but other explanations, for example, differences in excipients, differences between clusters and residual confounding cannot be ruled out.

Internet of things (IoT) has revolutionized how we utilize technology over the past decade. IoT’s rapid growth affects several fields, including the healthcare sector. As a result, the concept of smart healthcare or electronic healthcare (e-healthcare) has emerged. Smart healthcare promises to enhance people’s lives and wellbeing by monitoring them, offering an efficient connection, improving mobility, gathering medical data, and decreasing hospital and patient costs. IoT in healthcare is still one of the hot and trendy topics that needs in-depth investigation. No recent review has been conducted to elucidate the extent of research in the area, features of published papers, motives, and challenges in enabling IoT in healthcare systems. This study presents a comprehensive systematic review of the screened articles published between 2015 and 2022 pertaining to enabling IoT in healthcare services and applications. A total of 106 papers fulfilled the final inclusion criteria and were analyzed using systematic literature review (SLR). Two procedures were used to review the final articles: First, publications are examined in terms of study designs, publishing journals, and topics/study objectives. In the second approach, motives, challenges, and recommendations for enabling IoT in healthcare systems are explored. This article summarizes published studies on IoT in healthcare systems and its usage in smart healthcare service delivery. Based on the reviewed studies, recommendations for future research to enable the effective application of IoT in healthcare and service delivery are proposed.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a training program based on creative thinking skills in the development of self-concept among gifted and outstanding students in the Deanship of the preparatory year.In order to achieve the objectives of this study, three questions were answered. The sample consisted of (55) male and female students in the Deanship of the Preparatory Year at Imam Abdul Rahman Bin Faisal University. Moreover, a training program was designed based on creative thinking skills.It was applied to the members of the experimental group during the first and second semester of the academic year (2017/2018).The self-concept measure of Kilani and Abbas (1981) was applied on the control and experimental groups as pre and post scales by (6) training sessions each week to verify the effectiveness of the training program.After conducting the ANCOVA test, the study reached a set of results.In the light of these findings, the researchers recommend the need to pay attention to the skills of creative thinking and to conduct further studies on their use and benefit in all areas and at different stages of life.
