Extensive research work has been done for the estimation of population mean using bivariate auxiliary information based on conventional measures. Conventional measures of the auxiliary variables provide suspicious results in the presence of outliers/extreme values. However, non-conventional measures of the auxiliary variables include quartile deviation, mid-range, inter-quartile range, quartile average, tri-mean, Hodge-Lehmann estimator etc. give efficient results in case of extreme values. Unfortunately, non-conventional measures are not used by survey practitioners to enhance the estimation of unknown population parameters using bivariate auxiliary information. In this article, difference-cum-exponential-type estimators for population mean utilizing bivariate auxiliary information based on non-conventional measures under simple and stratified random sampling schemes have been suggested. Mathematical properties such as bias and mean squared error are derived. To support theoretical findings, various real-life applications are used to confirm the superiority of the suggested estimators as compared to the competing estimators under study. Crises in the past have caused devastating, long-lasting impacts on the global economy. The after-effects always bring some dynamic and rigorous challenges for businesses and governments. Such challenges have always been a point of discussion for scholars. The recent COVID-19 pandemic emaciated the global economy, leaving everyone mired in uncertainty, fear, and psychological impairments. One of the headwind features utilized by consumers during pandemic was panic buying (PB), which must be explored in various contexts for policymakers and practitioners. To address this gap, this study deployed a moderated mediation mechanism, integrating the health belief model (HBM) and competitive arousal theory (CAT) to excavate the notions underlying PB with the intrusion of evolved real-time psychological disorders: intolerance of uncertainty (IU) and cyberchondria (CYC). The study was conducted as a natural experiment in a South Asian developing economy using online surveys. It found that health beliefs--perceived severity (PSV) and perceived susceptibility (PSC)--positively impact perceived arousal (PA), which causes PB, and that PA has a sturdy mediator role. Moreover, in the relationship between health beliefs and arousal, the different psychological disorders were found to have significant moderating roles The study findings can help mitigate risk uncertainties and panic situations and thus contribute to consumers' wellbeing. Drawing on the appraisal theory of emotions and domain specificity perspective, we explore why and when work-to-family conflict leads to unethical pro-family behavior in the workplace. In particular, we propose that work-to-family conflict reinforces unethical pro-family behavior via employee felt guilt. Further, supervisor support for family issues attenuates the relationship between work-to-family conflict and felt guilt, whereas perceived forgiveness climate strengthens the relationship between felt guilt and unethical pro-family behavior. Two time-lagged field studies conducted in Pakistan and China supported our hypotheses. Study 1 demonstrated that work-to-family guilt mediated the relationship between work-to-family conflict and unethical pro-family behavior. Study 2 replicated these findings and provided additional support for our boundary conditions. Specifically, supervisor support for family issues buffered the positive effect of work-to-family conflict on work-to-family guilt; perceived forgiveness climate amplified the positive effect of work-to-family guilt on unethical pro-family behavior. Background and Objective: The world has already seen a massive pandemic of COVID-19. Medical professionals are the first line of defense in this pandemic. In this regard knowing about the spread of Monkeypox and then its preventive measure could save us from another pandemic. This study was therefore designed to determine the knowledge and awareness of medical students regarding the spread and prevention of monkeypox viral disease. Methods: It was a cross sectional study comprising of 406 medical students from first to final year MBBS of a private medical college in Lahore were enrolled through convenient sampling. The data were collected through a structured and validated questionnaire designed through Google Forms and administered by the researchers through WhatsApp groups. The data regarding the mode of spread and prevention was analyzed statistically with a p-value < 0.05 as significant. Results: A total of 406 responses were collected. The mean age of the participants was 22 ± 2 SD years. Regarding modes of spread of monkeypox, the medical students had significant knowledge about different routes; 359 (88.4%) respondents were aware of human to human transmission through respiratory secretions and vertical transmission (p < 0.001), while 298 (73.4%) respondents also regarded fomites as one of the modes (p < 0.001). Regarding the prevention of spread, 359 (88.4%) respondents picked each of the options of wearing masks, smallpox vaccination, and prior infection with chickenpox or smallpox while 329 (81%) and 309 (76.1%) respondents regarded the use of antivirals and isolation of affected person respectively as protective against Monkeypox (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The knowledge of medical students regarding the spread and prevention of monkeypox seems satisfactory. This can be attributed to the inclusion of the disease in their curriculum and its status as an emerging global outbreak, with extensive information readily available through social media platforms.
