The true spirit of education involves psychosocial grooming and character building of learners. Teacher's efficacy plays a vital role in achieving educational objectives. The effectiveness of teachers is usually evaluated through the academic grades of their students. Teacher's efficacy, however, is originally the ability of a teacher to improve the cognitive functioning and humanistic values of students. The current study developed and validated a new scale entitled the Qualiquant Teacher's Efficacy Scale (QTES) by involving 147 teachers and 59 students. The sample was selected thru a mixed method that involved convenient and purposive sampling techniques. QTES reflected strong validity and excellent reliability thru exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, item-scale, and item-total correlations. QTES is a unique measure for teacher's efficacy because it defines teacher's efficacy through cognitive functioning and humanistic values, offers two parallel and separate versions for teachers and students, and quantifies the qualitative data.

Purpose: "Psychosocial health" is a new term to comprehend the already established factors involved in mental health and psychological well-being. The term has not been specifically defined and explained within the framework of psychology. Design/methodology/approach: The study proposed and validated a new model of psychosocial health. Principal component analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted by involving a total of 4,086 participants. Findings: Psychosocial health was interpreted as the "sexual, emotional, social, environmental, cognitive, religious, moral and spiritual satisfaction" of a person. The proposed model of psychosocial health was statistically validated. The additional findings revealed significantly higher levels of psychosocial health in women and significant inverse correlations between psychosocial health and age. Originality/value: The current paper provided a comprehensive picture of psychosocial health from a psychological perspective and presented a statistically reliable tool for measuring psychosocial health.

Death anxiety has been linked to several psychopathological conditions. However, the causes, comorbidity, and differential diagnosis of death anxiety is unexplored. This paper stands out by identifying common predictors of death anxiety and exploring the potential of death anxiety as a predictor for other psychological conditions. The paper reports the findings of four consecutive studies that involved a total of 2291 conveniently selected participants including 861 men and 1430 women. We focused on clarifying both the predictors of death anxiety and the psychopathological consequences emerging from it. Our findings established depression, anxiety, stress, fear of aging, and reduced life satisfaction as predictors of death anxiety. Psychosocial illness, sleep disturbances, aggression, and daily hassles were established as the adverse outcomes of death anxiety. Fear of aging was the most significant predictor of death anxiety and daily hassles emerged as the most significant adverse consequence of death anxiety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Several feminists have been arguing on the superiority of women over men. This debate, instead of being biological, revolves around the gender roles and moral characteristics of humans, based on which women have been regarded better than men. The current study supported this claim by involving 620 participants, including men and women. Character Strengths Rating Form (Ruch et al., 2014) was used to obtain data. Women projected significantly higher levels on a variety of character strengths as compared to men. The results revealed that women had significantly higher levels of wisdom, justice, curiosity, love of learning, social intelligence, leadership and appreciation of beauty and excellence. Background: Psychodermatology is an emerging field that relates cosmetic dermatology with several mental abnormalities associated with appearance and attraction. Being a latest field, psychodermatology lacks research in several fundamental aspects. The current study intended to analyze the prevalent role of cosmetic dermatologists and beauticians in handling the psychological issues of their clients, and to educate them on the relevant mental conditions associated with cosmetic dermatology, beauty, and attraction. Method: The first aspect of the study involved interviewing cosmetic dermatologists (n = 30) and beauticians (n = 73) to analyze their psychodermatological role with their clients. The second aspect of the study intended to educate cosmetic dermatologists and beauticians on the relevant psychopathology which would possibly be present among their clients. Results: The findings revealed that the cosmetic dermatologists and beauticians were aware of several psychopathological issues of their clients. However, they were unable to identify and label the appropriate clinical diagnoses in this regard. Their clients did possess tendencies toward social anxiety disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, charismaphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, histrionic personality disorder, gerascophobia, and narcissistic personality disorder. The study also confirmed a significant rise in their clientele due to the psychopathological issues faced by their clients. The study also found cosmetic dermatologists and beauticians involved in providing psychological counseling to their clients while being untrained. Conclusion: The current paper is a valuable contribution to the under‐researched field of psychodermatology. Universities sprawl between global knowledge and local aspirations. Universally higher education institutions create and transmit knowledge as their basic function. There is a growing emphasis that importance should be given to localized concerns and aspirations of the communities. Investments in higher education, demands a transformation of the neighboring societies and cure for socio-economic ills. Diverse Tolerance is a tendency of human beings to show acceptance towards diverse behaviors. Pakistan as a whole and Southern Punjab are especially facing the challenges of intolerance in society. The major factors of this issue are; religious extremism, sectarianism, poverty, and backwardness. Universities are believed to be a source of bringing attitudinal changes in their graduates and transform them into useful citizens. The major objective of the present study was to explore the role of the universities of Southern Punjab to foster tolerance, harmony, and social justice in the community. The students of general public sector Universities of Pakistan were the population of the study. A sample of one thousand students and thirty alumni were selected as the sample of the study. A self-developed questionnaire and interview were used as data collection tools. The mean score, standard deviation, and t-value were calculated. A thematic approach was followed to analyze the responses on interviews and open-ended items. It was concluded that university education is improving moderately the tolerance level among the students, helping the community to combat extremism, increase of social justice, and improving religious and social harmony. To achieve the educational aims and to develop a level of tolerance of students, lectures on tolerance education must be included in the syllabus at every level of degree. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Infertility in collectivistic cultures is usually regarded as a matter of social stigmatization instead of a biomedical problem. It has adverse sociocultural consequences, especially for the female spouse. The current study, by involving 20 infertile couples, was a qualitative research focusing on the sociocultural experiences of the infertile couples about the nature, causes, and consequences of infertility. The findings of the current study clearly depicted the sociocultural factors involved in interpreting infertility as a matter of shame and bad reputation for the couple and its family. The study has filled a significant knowledge gap and will be useful in identifying and addressing the cultural barriers in the treatment of infertility. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The existing literature on grief, bereavement, and mourning lacks analyses on the differences in grief caused by parental and spousal deaths. The current study intended to measure the same by involving 546 purposively selected participants. Section 5 of the Grief Evaluation Measure was used to gather data. No significant differences were found in grieving parental and spousal deaths. The study also analyzed the differences in grieving on the bases of gender, age, religiosity, social interaction, and occupation, and found significant variations in grieving. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
