Abstract

School violence has been an urgent issue in schools today. A questionnaire survey done by 700 students and many in-depth interviews with students, and school social workers who support students at school such as the teachers, school administrators, psychological counselors, etc. are conducted at 3 secondary schools in Hanoi. Since then, the article has analyzed the current situation of school social work activities in preventing school violence among students in Hanoi. The results show that the schools have implemented social work activities toward preventing and intervening with students on school violence, however, the implementation effectiveness of these activities is not high, which leads to the remaining uncontrolled school violence. As a result, the article proposes some solutions to promote professional school social work activities to prevent school violence for students in current secondary schools in Hanoi.

Abstract

Pleistocene Pongo teeth show substantial variation in size and morphology, fueling taxonomic debates about the paleodiversity of the genus. We investigated prominent features of the enamel-dentine-junction junction (EDJ)–phylogenetically informative internal structures–of 71 fossil Pongo lower molars from various sites by applying geometric morphometrics and conducted paleoproteomic analyses from enamel proteins to attempt to identify extinct orangutan species. Forty-three orangutan lower molars representing Pongo pygmaeus and Pongo abelii were included for comparison. The shape of the EDJ was analyzed by placing five landmarks on the tip of the main dentine horns, and 142 semilandmarks along the marginal ridges connecting the dentine horns. Paleoproteomic analyses were conducted on 15 teeth of Late Pleistocene Pongo using high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry. The geometric morphometric results show variations in EDJ shape regarding aspects of the height and position of the dentine horns and connecting ridges. Despite the issue of molar position and sample size, modern molars are distinguished from fossil counterparts by their elongated tooth outline and narrowly positioned dentine horns. Proteomic results show that neither a distinction of P. pygmaeus and P. abelii, nor a consistent allocation of fossil specimens to extant species is feasible. Based on the EDJ shape, the (late) Middle to Late Pleistocene Pongo samples from Vietnam share the same morphospace, supporting the previous allocation to P. devosi, although substantial overlap with Chinese fossils could also indicate close affinities with P. weidenreichi. The hypothesis that both species represent one chronospecies cannot be ruled out. Two fossil specimens, one from Tam Hay Marklot (Laos, Late Pleistocene), and another from Sangiran (Java, Early to Middle Pleistocene), along with some specimens within the Punung sample (Java), exhibit affinities with Pongo abelii. Abstract

Pleistocene Pongo teeth show substantial variation in size and morphology, fueling taxonomic debates about the paleodiversity of the genus. We investigated prominent features of the enamel-dentine-junction junction (EDJ)–phylogenetically informative internal structures–of 71 fossil Pongo lower molars from various sites by applying geometric morphometrics and conducted paleoproteomic analyses from enamel proteins to attempt to identify extinct orangutan species. Forty-three orangutan lower molars representing Pongo pygmaeus and Pongo abelii were included for comparison. The shape of the EDJ was analyzed by placing five landmarks on the tip of the main dentine horns, and 142 semilandmarks along the marginal ridges connecting the dentine horns. Paleoproteomic analyses were conducted on 15 teeth of Late Pleistocene Pongo using high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry. The geometric morphometric results show variations in EDJ shape regarding aspects of the height and position of the dentine horns and connecting ridges. Despite the issue of molar position and sample size, modern molars are distinguished from fossil counterparts by their elongated tooth outline and narrowly positioned dentine horns. Proteomic results show that neither a distinction of P. pygmaeus and P. abelii, nor a consistent allocation of fossil specimens to extant species is feasible. Based on the EDJ shape, the (late) Middle to Late Pleistocene Pongo samples from Vietnam share the same morphospace, supporting the previous allocation to P. devosi, although substantial overlap with Chinese fossils could also indicate close affinities with P. weidenreichi. The hypothesis that both species represent one chronospecies cannot be ruled out. Abstract

Vietnamese people involved in illegal work abroad have received worldwide attention in recent times. Studies that explore the causes of this fact are mainly qualitative. This study applies a quantitative research method to clarify the relationship between emigration personality, Attitude towards money, financial anxiety, and intention to engage in illegal labour to fill that overseas gap law of Vietnamese people. This study was conducted through a cross-sectional survey using a targeted sampling technique of 400 study participants. The SEM model is used to test the hypotheses posed, and the research results through the model show that: (i) Migration personality has a positive and significant impact on attitudes about money; (ii) Financial anxiety and intention to engage in illegal work abroad; (iii) Attitudes towards money positively and significantly affect intention to engage in illegal work abroad; (iv) Financial anxiety has a positive and significant impact on intention to engage in illegal work in the country; (v) There exists a positive and significant relationship between emigration personality and attitudes towards money; Attitude towards money with financial anxiety; Financial anxiety about the intention to engage in illegal work abroad. The conclusions of this study provide valuable data for government policymakers.

Abstract

Summary: Quality of the cookies substituted with germinated mung bean flour (GMF) to rice flour (RF) to produce gluten‐free cookies were investigated in this study. The GMF was used to formulate with the RF to obtain the composite flours with different total protein contents of 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 21 (%, d.b). The increase in the substituted amounts of GMF contributed to the lower baking loss, diameter and spread ratio, but the higher thickness and hardness of the cookies as compared to the RF‐based cookie. The cookies with more GMF substitution expressed lower lightness (L*) values, but higher redness (a*) and yellowness (b*) values than the others. The cookies substituted with 60% of the GMF (60‐GMFC) exhibited similar baking loss, thickness, diameter, spread ratio and lightness values to the wheat flour (WF)‐based cookies. The total amounts of essential amino acids and the sum of histidine, lysine and methionine of the composite flour‐based cookies were 3.90% and 1.64%, significantly higher than those of the RF‐based cookie (1.93% and 0.66%, respectively) or the WF‐based cookie (1.70% and 0.58%, respectively). As a result, healthy gluten‐free cookies could be prepared using the RF with the substitution of the germinated mung bean flour. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
