3. Sports and leisure campaigns for migrant workers in Qatar: including the excluded.

Abstract

The authors assess the effectiveness of campaigns designed to increase the sport activities of migrant workers in Qatar, host nation of the FIFA Men's World Cup Qatar 2022TM. The authors used the integrative model of behavioral prediction (IM) as a guide and conducted ethnographic interviews with migrant workers in Qatar. The results suggest that the respondents have very low participation rates, positive attitudes towards the sports campaigns and desire to participate more but are hampered by environmental factors beyond their control including time off of work, transportation and money. Utilization of external factors is necessary for the management and assessment of sports campaigns targeted at migrant workers and by extension, other populations. The inclusion of external elements from the IM is especially important in the design of sports campaigns targeted at migrant workers. Focusing exclusively on internal perceptions, attitudes and beliefs risks missing the factors that prevent the campaigns from succeeding. Sports opportunities are not often targeted at migrant laborers nor assessed; the study fills this gap. The external factors from the IM are underutilized. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the coaching program at the tennis court club Selabora FIK UNY. The results of this research evaluation are expected to be one of the researchers' contributions to realize an optimal coaching program in the tennis court sports club in the Selabora of the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) Yogyakarta State University. This research is an evaluation research with a CIPP evaluation model. The approach taken using a quantitative approach is supported by questionnaire research instruments. The questionnaire has been validated by three experts. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of active administrators Selabora, active trainers Selabora, and students Selabora with a minimum age of 10 years. The sample of this study was 30 people consisting of 2 administrators, 8 coaches, and 20 students. The result of this study is that the coaching program for the Faculty of Medicine UNY in tennis courts is 3.16 in the medium category. The recommendations from the results of this study are, the context aspect of improving and developing, especially in terms of coaching programs, the input aspect of the coach continues to develop his coaching knowledge and attend training, the process aspect of the management can compile a long-term coaching program and the product aspect needs to be collaborated from several parties, in this case, namely administrators, coaches, students and parents of students to continue to try their best in carrying out the training process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning yang dikombinasikan dengan teknik pembelajaran Storyline dan untuk mengetahui respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran tersebut. Model pembelajaran Project Based Learning melalui teknik pembelajaran Storyline diterapkan pada kelas XI IBB SMAN 6 Malang yang beranggotakan 12 siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Jerman dengan materi Essen und Trinken yang dilakukan secara daring melalui WhatsApp. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan data di dalam penelitian ini merupakan observasi dan kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh melalui observasi merupakan hasil pengamatan terhadap kegiatan siswa selama pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Project Based Learning melalui teknik Storyline. Data hasil kuesioner diperoleh dari lembar kuesioner yang telah diisi oleh siswa setelah melaksanakan pembelajaran untuk mengetahui respons siswa terkait model pembelajaran yang dipilih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning yang dikombinasikan dengan teknik pembelajaran Storyline berjalan dengan baik dan secara keseluruhan siswa aktif mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Respons siswa terhadap model pembelajaran Project Based Learning melalui teknik pembelajaran Storyline juga menunjukkan hasil yang positif. Melalui kegiatan diskusi kelompok di dalam model pembelajaran Project Based Learning dapat membantu siswa dalam memecahkan masalah yang diberikan dan dengan teknik pembelajaran Storyline dapat membantu mereka menuangkan ide ke dalam tulisan.
