Background: Pulmonary embolism (PE) is extremely rare after shoulder arthroscopy. However, early identification of the situation deserves attention due to its potential risk of causing death. By now, it is still difficult to detect the PE without symptoms and clear sources during the perioperative period. Case presentation: We report here two cases of asymptomatic PE, both happening within 24 h after shoulder arthroscopy, without any detected deep venous thrombosis of extremities. It is suspected the cases were due to the abnormal decrease in partial pressures of oxygen and arterial oxygen saturation, and were confirmed by computed tomography pulmonary angiography. We also discuss the reason why the patients showed no related symptoms when PE occurred and perform a review of PE following shoulder arthroscopy. Conclusions: This report highlights that PE could occur in the early phase after shoulder arthroscopy. An unexplained decrease in partial pressure of oxygen or arterial oxygen saturation should be considered seriously. The symptoms of PE might be masked due to patients’ tolerance to hypoxia.

Some lakeside cities may suffer from urban waterlogging owing to the backwater effect caused by the rise of lake water levels under a extreme rainfall scenario in the basin, but it is not suitable for large-scale gray drainage infrastructure upgrading in high-density lakeside urban built-up areas. This study, as per this, constructs the blue-green-gray infrastructure reconstruction planning and design mode to alleviate the waterlogging in the extreme rainstorm scenario of the lakeside city. Extending the Shiwuli River Basin in Hefei City, Anhui Province, China as an example, this study uses SWMM software to simulate the waterlogging situation in the study area under an extreme rainstorm under the urban planning scenario. According to the waterlogging situation, different hydrological scenarios (scenarios where the pipe network can and cannot discharge normally) are used to plan and design the blue-green-gray infrastructure reconstruction of the study area with both constructed land and non-constructed land. The research results show that just the planning and design of blue and green space can effectively reduce the degree of urban waterlogging, and with the cooperation of artificial pre-drainage, its own hydrological characteristics and geographical conditions can be used to prevent urban waterlogging caused by the backwater effects of a lake. In this study, the blue-green-gray transformation planning and design model of lakeside cities can deal with the complex urban waterlogging caused by extreme rainstorms, and the model could be extended to other cities along rivers or lakes with similar conditions.

In the face of the era of big data, how to ensure the authenticity of electronic data has become an important practical issue. Online preservation methods based on hash operation, time stamp, and blockchain technology can effectively guarantee the authenticity and security of electronic data. Blockchains are inherently traceable, de-centralized, and difficult to tamper with, which can be enough served as the basic technology of electronic data certification. Preservation by blockchain mainly includes the following links: platform registration and identity authentication, generation and transmission of electronic data, and storage of electronic data. Preservation by blockchain has higher security than centralized online security because of distributed storage. However, it should be acknowledged that the preservation by blockchain is not without risk. The court should adhere to the principle of individual review of each case and review the electronic data from its generation, transmission, reception, storage, and collection.

A design scheme of physiological data acquisition and processing system for underground personnel was proposed. Hardware design of data acquisition terminal, data acquisition and processing method and ZigBee data transmission design of the system were introduced. The system can acquire the data of oxygen saturation of blood, pulse and body motion of underground personnel real-timely, and get physiological condition of the personnel by processing the acquired data, which displays on monitoring interface of upper computer. The test results show that the accuracy of data acquisition of the system is over 90%, and data transmission is reliable without data packet loss.

Yellow mustard, cultivated in northern Shaanxi of China, is a valuable germplasm of Brassica juncea with low erucic acid content. Its yellow seed colour is controlled by a recessive allele of a single gene, whose dominant allele conditions brown seed colour. To map the yellow seed colour allele, amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and simple sequence repeat (SSR) technologies were used to identify markers linked to the recessive allele. The analysis was done on 386 F2 plants, segregating for seed colour, from the cross Wuqi yellow mustard × Wugong mustard. The plants were selfed to determine their seed colour genotype. Twenty AFLP markers and eight SSR markers were identified from 256 AFLP primer combinations and 624 pairs of SSR primers, respectively. Blast analysis indicated that the sequences of four closely linked AFLP and SSR markers showed good collinearity with those of Arabidopsis chromosome 3, and the homologue of the yellow seed colour allele was located between At3g14190 and At3g32130. Sequence information of the region between the two genes of Arabidopsis could be used to develop more closely linked markers to narrow down the homologue of the yellow seed colour allele. These results would accelerate the procedure of yellow seed colour gene cloning and marker-assisted selection for yellow mustard.

Most of the materials studied as catalysts in the electro-Fenton system are variants of iron oxide or iron hydroxide. However, iron-based catalysts often exhibit weak catalytic capabilities under neutral and alkaline conditions. In this work, we synthesized three cobalt based bimetallic oxides, Co2CuOx, Co2AlOx, and Co2NiOx, using hydrothermal method and evaluated them as catalysts for the heterogeneous electro-Fenton system to remove 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP) and Methylisothiazolinone [2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one] (MIT). Co2NiOx has the highest catalytic degradation activity for HEDP, and Co2CuOx has the best catalytic degradation effect for MIT. Based on characterization results of the catalysts, the reasons for the differences in the pollutant removal efficiency were analysed, and the optimal pH for the three cobalt based oxides to remove HEDP and MIT was investigated. The results showed that the optimal pH values of the three cobalt based bimetallic oxides are not only influenced by the second metal type, but also by the properties of pollutants. Therefore, suitable cobalt based catalysts can be selected based on the different properties of pollutants, or the composition of cobalt based catalysts can be adjusted to meet the different pH requirements of target wastewater. The three cobalt based bimetallic oxides exhibited good degradation of HEDP and MIT under neutral conditions, which to some extent solved the problem of narrow pH range in the practical application of the electro-Fenton process. Objective: Research on the link between inflammatory indicators and markers of bone metabolism is currently lacking, especially the interaction between Procollagen type 1 N-terminal propeptide (P1NP), the β-C-terminal telopeptide of type 1 collagen (β-CTX), and the fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (FAR). This study intends to fill that knowledge gap by investigating the possible link between inflammatory indicators and bone metabolism. Methods: This observational study included 718 individuals diagnosed with osteoporotic fractures from Kunshan Hospital Affiliated to Jiangsu University between January 2017 and July 2022. After accounting for several confounders, the independent connection between FAR levels and β-CTX and P1NP was investigated via Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE). On top of that, we used a generalized additive model (GAM) to find any non-linear correlations, and a two-piecewise linear regression model to find the threshold effects in the smoothing curves that came out of it. To ensure the aforementioned result was stable, a subgroup analysis was carried out. Results: The results showed a positive linear correlation between FAR and β-CTX [β = 1.077, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.24 to 1.92, P = 0.012]. The study's findings demonstrated that FAR and P1NP fit curves in an inverted U-shaped pattern, and an inflection point K = 0.0685 for FAR was detected. P1NP showed a positive correlation with FAR below the inflection point (β = 306.10, 95% CI: 47.37 to 564.83, P = 0.021), and a negative correlation with FAR beyond the inflection point (β = -117.57, 95% CI: -231.34 to -3.80, P = 0.043). The subgroup analysis revealed that women had a more significant association between FAR and β-CTX in women than in men. Conclusions: The results provide useful insights into the potential association between FAR and markers of bone metabolism. The study may provide a novel clinical implication by introducing FAR as a potential reference indicator for assessing bone health, offering a cost-effective and conveniently obtainable biomarker to monitor inflammation to improve bone metabolism in the treatment of osteoporosis. ABSTRACT Introduction Methods and Results Conclusion Left atrial appendage aneurysm (LAAA) is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly that involves the progressive dilatation of the left atrial appendage (LAA), predisposing the patient to serious complications such as atrial tachyarrhythmias, life‐threatening systemic thromboembolism, and cardiac dysfunction.We described a case of a 36‐year‐old woman with incessant atrial tachycardia (AT) originating from LAAA, which surgical intervention successfully terminated AT after attempted ablation failed. The AT terminated after the LAA was excised. There was no recurrence at the follow‐up period of 3 months.We present and discuss the management of rare incessant AT arising from giant LAAA where the localization was confirmed on electroanatomic mapping. LAA resection via video‐assisted thoracoscopic surgery is minimally invasive approach to manage the LAAA AT, uniformly considered safe and successful. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To examine the occurrence of post-traumatic stress disorder among patients who have experienced venomous snakebites and investigate the factors contributing to it. The results provided insights for devising suitable nursing interventions. Methods: Between June 2022 and October 2023, a total of 128 snakebite patients from the Advanced Snakebite Rescue Center at a tertiary hospital in Guizhou Province were chosen as participants using convenience sampling. General Information Questionnaire, the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10), the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), the Simple Clinical Severity Assessment Scale, and the Swelling Severity Rating Scale (SSRS) were assessed at the time of admission, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist-Civilian Version (PCL-C) at 1 month after. Results: The prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among patients bitten by venomous snakes was found to be 67.97%, with an average PTSD score of 44.26±13.53. Various factors including cultural background, psychological resilience, social support, pain intensity, severity of snakebite, and degree of swelling were identified as influencing PTSD in these patients (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: The incidence of PTSD was increased in individuals with venomous snakebites, particularly among those with lower literacy levels, reduced psychological resilience, limited access to social support, increased pain levels, severe snakebites, and significant swelling. Healthcare professionals should address PTSD in patients with snakebites and implement preventive interventions targeting these high-risk factors to mitigate the occurrence of PTSD in this patient population. Transmission towers in service are highly susceptible to corrosion caused by environmental conditions. It is crucial to assess the residual load capacity of corroded angles in transmission towers. In this study, corrosion at the connection of angels was simulated by local damage using a mechanical cutting method, and compression tests and numerical simulations were performed to investigate the load capacity of corroded angles. A total of 24 angles were designed and tested in the experiments, and the parameters considered included the location and thickness of damage and slenderness. The local damage was designed on the loaded or non-loaded legs, with slendernesses of 80 and 140, and a thickness of damage of 1 mm and 2 mm. The residual load capacity, failure modes, and strain of the angles were analysed based on experimental results. Furthermore, corrosion was simulated by reducing the local thickness of angles using ABAQUS. The accuracy of numerical models was verified after comparing the numerical results with experimental data. Based on the verified model, parameter analysis was conducted, in which the slendernesses was extended to 100 and 120, and the local damage thickness was also set to be 0.5 mm and 1.5 mm to quantitatively study the influence on the residual load capacity. The tests results showed that with the damage depth at the ends of the angle increased, and the load capacity of the angle decreased by up to 6.7%. Finally, a design equation for calculating the residual load capacity of corroded angles was proposed using the numerical results. By comparing the design equation, experimental results, and load capacity calculated per existing standards, it was found that the load-bearing capacity of corroded angles can be accurately predicted by the equation. Background: Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTCL) has a unique treatment principle. However, the optimal combination of drugs along with radiotherapy (RT) is unknown. Design: Retrospective cohort study. Objectives: We screened multiple drug combinations to identify the most efficacious therapeutic combinations. Methods: We reviewed 3105 patients who received 40 chemotherapy regimens with different combinations of 9 drug classes and/or RT. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator and multivariable Cox regression analyses were used to screen efficacious single drugs and identify optimal combinations for overall survival (OS). Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) and multivariable analyses were used to compare survival between treatment regimens. Results: Screening and validation revealed RT, asparaginase (ASP), and gemcitabine (GEM) to be the most efficacious single modality/drug. RT remained an important component of first-line treatment, whereas ASP was a fundamental drug of non-anthracycline (ANT)-based regimens. Addition of RT to non-ANT-based or ASP/GEM-based regimens, or addition of an ASP-drug into ANT-based or GEM/platinum-based regimens, improved 5-year OS significantly. Use of ASP/GEM-based regimens was associated with significantly higher 5-year OS (79.9%) compared with ASP/ANT-based (69.2%, p = 0.001), ASP/methotrexate-based (63.5%, p = 0.011), or ASP/not otherwise specified-based (63.2%, p < 0.001) regimens. The survival benefit of ASP/GEM-based regimens over other ASP-based regimens was substantial across risk-stratified and advanced-stage subgroups. The survival benefits of a combination of RT, ASP, and GEM were consistent after adjustment for confounding factors by IPTW. Conclusion: These results suggest that combining ASP/GEM with RT for ENKTCL is an efficacious and feasible therapeutic option and provides a rationale and strategy for developing combination therapies. The present study aimed to determine the optimal posterior tibial plateau inclination for fixed-platform unicondylar knee arthroplasty (UKA) using finite element analysis (FEA). These findings provided a theoretical basis for selecting an appropriate posterior inclination of the tibial plateau during surgery. The present study utilized the FEA method to create models of fixed-platform UKA with tibial plateau posterior inclinations of 3, 6 and 9˚. The stress changes in the internal structures of each model after knee flexion motion were then compared. During knee flexion from 0 to 90˚, the contact and Von Mises equivalent stresses of the femoral condyle prosthesis and tibial platform pad revealed consistent trends of 3˚ posterior inclination, >6˚ posterior inclination and >9˚ posterior inclination. The present study established the first quasi-dynamic fixed-platform UKA model of the knee joint under load-bearing conditions. From a theoretical perspective, it was found that controlling the posterior inclination of UKA between 6 and 9˚ may be more beneficial for the survival of the tibial platform pad than between 3 and 6˚.
