The Internet provides many societal benefits such as diversified sources of information, communication, and entertainment. However, the development of the Internet has negatively impacted users in some ways, with many users displaying symptoms of Internet addiction. Internet addiction is an emerging societal problem, warranting research on its causes. This study examines the impact of perceived social support and the mediating role of emotional intelligence on Internet addiction among Vietnamese undergraduates. The respondents included 787 randomly undergraduate students in Vietnam. The study used exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0. The results showed that perceived social support negatively affected Internet addiction, and emotional intelligence played a mediating role in the relationship between perceived social support and Internet addiction.

This study aims to analyze the impact of human resource management practices on innovation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam in the dynamic and competitive environment. The study uses the data collected by Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) in 2011, 2013 and 2015. By using the Tobit model, the results show that Human Resource Management (HRM) practices positively influence innovation of SMEs, and the most significant relation to innovation is training. Based on the findings, small and medium firms in Vietnam need to manage human resource effectively by some activities such as training, union, wage and job rotation in order to promote innovation output, including new products, new process and modified product., {"references":["Arulrajah, A. Background and purpose: In recruitment and selection, job applicants do not only base their justice judgment on the actual experience but also compare what happens and what they expect. This study, therefore, investigates applicants’ reaction to procedural justice in recruitment selection through the lens of psychological contract framework. Psychological contract theory highlights the role of expectations, discrepancies between perception and expectation, and perceived contract breach on individual outcomes. Methodology: Two surveys were conducted with job seekers in Vietnam, one before and one after the selection process. Printed questionnaires were administered to job seekers in the first survey, while the second used online survey. Structural Equation Modeling technique was adopted to analyze the data. Results: Data from a sample of 232 job seekers indicated that previous job experience and source of candidates were significantly related to justice expectations. In addition, perceived unmet expectations were found to predict procedural contract breach, which in turn negatively influenced job acceptance intention and recommendation intention. Conclusion: The research highlights the role of unmet justice expectation, the perceived discrepancy between what happened and what was supposed to be, in predicting intention to accept offer and to recommend others. The results suggest that firms should provide updated and official information regarding the selection process to all parties such as internal employees, recruitment agency and job search website to reduce over-expectation.

Online Learning and Modular Learning Modalities are being utilized by the Department of Education to continue the learning process during COVID -19 pandemic. The study has employed Mixed method to determine the problems and challenges of both public and private school teachers in utilizing online and modular learning modality. Interviews revealed that each sector has a problem in internet connectivity. Specifically, public school teachers are being challenged by the scarce resources of the students and unresponsive parents. Private school teachers are being challenged by the lack of training on the different online platforms for online teaching and learning process and assessment of learning this new normal. U- Test revealed that the challenges experienced by public and private school teachers in delivering distance learning are essentially the same. Moreover, it can be said that the type of school where a teacher works has no bearing with the challenges that he or she may encounter.

Trash classification plays an important role in enhancing people’s awareness of protecting environment. This study aimed to evaluate factors influencing students’ behavior toward trash classification in Vietnam. Six dimensions used in this study were: Knowledge, Attitude, Perceived Effective Behavior, Subjective Standards, Habits and Infrastructure. The research conducted a survey with participation of 274 respondents. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, factor analysis and regression.

The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between intellectual capital and firm performance. We empirically explore how intellectual capital affects firm performance in Vietnam. The data was collected through annual enterprise surveys by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam on a sample of 13,900 Vietnamese firms during 2012-2016. Adopting Pulic's (1998) value-added intellectual coefficient model as later refined, we model a path between intellectual capital and firm performance. Results show that intellectual capital correlated positively with firm performance during the period. Further, human capital correlates positively only with business performance, material capital, and financial capital in the short-term. Among components of intellectual capital efficiency, structural capital efficiency has the greatest positive correlation with short and long-term firm performance. Although there are some limitations to measure intellectual capital quantitatively, this research provides further insight into the effect of intellectual capital on firm performance within a developing country.
