This article is a reflective account of one non-medical prescriber and discusses everyday prescribing issues that have affected him since qualifying as a non-medical prescriber and reflects on the influences on prescribing practice.

Rosacea is a chronic condition of the skin, which is specifically localised to the face. There are several different classifications of rosacea, and it can be a difficult condition to treat, often going misdiagnosed or mistreated. Rosacea can also have a significant psychological impact on the patient's life, and it is important that this impact is considered by the practitioner when determining a treatment plan. This article will explore the different classifications of rosacea and the various options available in treating the condition.

AbstractOpacity data are very important in high energy density physics experiments. Recent targets of alternating layers of either Al2Te3or Mg/Sn with a CH tamper have been made for obtaining these data. These targets are geometrically simple in the half-moon configuration of the metal compound coating to the pure CH tamper but require stringent procedural requirements to fabricate to the purity requirements. These specific targets require mass ratios of elements that proved to be difficult to obtain while also having the requirement of being pinhole-free and oxygen-free.

The purpose of this study was to identify and correlate the microstructural and luminescence properties of europium‐doped Y2O3(Y1–xEux)2O3thin films deposited by metallorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), as a function of deposition time and temperature. The influence of deposition parameters on the crystallite size and microstructural morphology were examined, as well as the influence of these parameters on the photoluminescence emission spectra. (Y1–xEux)2O3thin films were deposited onto (111) silicon and (001) sapphire substrates by MOCVD. The films were grown by reacting yttrium and europium tris(2,2,6,6‐tetramethyl–3,5‐heptanedionate) precursors with an oxygen atmosphere at low pressures (5 torr (1.7 × 103Pa)) and low substrate temperatures (500°–700°C). The films deposited at 500°C were smooth and composed of nanocrystalline regions of cubic Y2O3, grown in a textured [100] or [110] orientation to the substrate surface. Films deposited at 600°C developed, with increasing deposition time, from a flat, nanocrystalline morphology into a platelike growth morphology with [111] orientation. Monoclinic (Y1–xEux)2O3was observed in the photoluminescence emission spectra for all deposition temperatures. The increase in photoluminescence emission intensity with increasing postdeposition annealing temperature was attributed to the surface/grain boundary area‐reduction effect.

Health care delivery has evolved in reaction to scientific and technological discoveries, emergent patient needs, and market forces. A current focus on patient-centered care has pointed to the need for the reallocation of resources to improve access to and delivery of efficient, cost-effective, quality care. In response to this need, primary care physicians will find themselves in a new role as team leader. The American College of Osteopathic Internists has developed the Phoenix Physician, a training program that will prepare primary care residents and practicing physicians for the changes in health care delivery and provide them with skills such as understanding the contributions of all team members (including an empowered and educated patient), evaluating and treating patients, and applying performance metrics and information technology to measure and improve patient care and satisfaction. Through the program, physicians will also develop personal leadership and communication skills.
