A CuO nanosheet array thin film was synthesized by one-step electrochemical anodic oxidation, exhibiting SERS and photocatalytic performance.

In this paper, we demonstrated a clean fabrication of the morphology-controllable gold hierarchically micro/nanostructured arrays (HMNAs) by electrochemical deposition on polystyrene monolayer colloidal crystal template. Through varying cathodic current density and deposition time to adjust electrocrystallization process, the HMNAs can be controlled from the one with microspheres and nanoparticles to the one with microbowls and nanorods. Further adjusting the nucleating sites via ion-sputtering deposition of gold film over the polystyrene spheres, we designed and prepared a new kind of HMNA with microspheres and nanowimbles. Interestingly, these Au HMNAs exhibited structurally related wettability. Correlated with their different hierarchical micro/nano-structures, they all showed superhydrophobicity after surface modification of low surface free energy material while with different surface adhesions. A water droplet can pine on the surface of the concave Au HMNA with microbowls and nanorods even turned upside down, showing ultrahigh liquid-solid adhesion. However, the convex Au HMNA with microspheres and nanowimbles shows very low surface adhesion with a sliding angle close to zero. These surface adhesion-controlled superhydrophobic surfaces can be found many potential applications, such as self-cleaning surfaces, liquid transportation, and multifunctional microfluidic devices.

We report a one-step electrochemical deposition technique to prepare three-dimensional (3D) Ag hierarchical micro/nanostructured film consisting of well-crystallized Ag nanosheets grown on an indium tin oxide (ITO) conductive substrate. The Ag hierarchical micro/nanostructures were fabricated in the mixed solution of AgNO3 and sodium citrate in a constant current system at room temperature. Through reduction of Ag[Formula: see text] electrodeposited on the surface of ITO substrate, nanoparticles were grown to form nanosheets which further combined into 3D sphere-like microstructures. The 3D Ag micro/nanostructures have many sharp edges and nanoscale gaps which can give rise to good Raman-enhanced effect. Due to localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effects, these special Ag micro/nanostructures exhibited good Raman-enhanced performance. Using Rhodamine 6G (R6G) molecules as probe molecule, we studied the influence of excitation wavelength on Raman enhancement. The results showed that the 532[Formula: see text]nm excitation wavelength is the best to obtain the strongest Raman signal and to reduce the influence of other impurity peaks. Using the as-synthesized Ag hierarchical micro/nanostructures, we can detect the 10[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]mol/L R6G aqueous solution, exhibiting great Raman-enhanced effect.

This paper presents a design for an intelligent parking management system, based on the integrated RS485 and RFID. In this system, a vehicle can quickly and easily access to the car park. Such a system uses three-dimensional ultrasonic detection technology. Vehicles are interconnected via RS485 terminal that implements parking data reliable transmission of the information and combines with the RFID technology for vehicle access control. The system has been tested, and the results show that it can substantially optimize the management of car parks, save the administrative costs, and low cost, and it is a reliable system.

Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is one of the most common lethal features of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), caused by diverse mutations in the X-linked dystrophin gene (DMD). Without dystrophin, a large cytoskeletal protein, muscles degenerate, causing myopathy. Although several gene therapies have been tested, there is no curative treatment so far. In 2014, we first used CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing (termed Myoediting) to correct the mutation in the germ line of mdx mice, the mouse model of DMD [Long et al. Science 345:1184-8]. Recently, we applied Myoediting to postnatal muscle tissues in mice by delivering gene editing components via a harmless adeno-associated virus. Cardiac and skeletal muscle showed progressive rescue of dystrophin protein [Long et al. Science doi: 10.1126/science.aad5725]. These studies paved the way for novel genome editing-based therapeutics in DMD. We have now advanced Myoediting to cells from human DMD patients by engineering the permanent skipping of mutant or out-of-frame exons in the genome of DMD patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). We have optimized Myoediting of DMD mutations using pools of sgRNAs to target the top 12 hot spot mutant exons. We targeted the conserved RNA splicing acceptor/donor sites of each exon. NHEJ-mediated indels efficiently abolished the splicing sites and skipped the mutated or out-of-frame exons. Based on the known DMD mutations, we established a publicly available online resource (Duchenne Skipper Database) for selecting the optimal target DMD sequences for Myoediting, which will rescue dystrophin function in 60-80% of DMD patients. We performed Myoediting on representative iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes from multiple patients with point, deletion or duplication mutations and efficiently restored dystrophin protein expression in cardiomyocytes. Rescued DMD cardiomyocyte shows enhanced function. Opportunities and obstacles in the path toward efficient and permanent elimination of the genetic cause of DMD and other DCM will be discussed.

This paper proposes an improved discrete wavelet framework based image fusion algorithm, after studying the principles and characteristics of the discrete wavelet framework. The improvement is the careful consideration of the high frequency subband image region characteristic. The algorithms can efficiently synthesis the useful information of the each source image retrieved from the multi sensor. The multi focus image fusion experiment and medical image fusion experiment can verify that our proposed algorithm has the effectiveness in the image fusion. On the other side, this paper studies the quality assessment of the image fusion, and summarize and quantitatively analysis the performance of algorithms proposed in the paper.

MMSE-DFE (Minimum Mean Square Error-Decision Feedback Equalization) is a sliding-window decision feedback equalization method. This paper first applies MMSE-DFE into joint detection algorithm for TDD-CDMA (Time Division Duplex-Code Division Multiple Access). It has the low complexity compared with MMSE-BDFE (Minimum Mean Square Error-Block Decision Feedback Equalization) based joint detection. MMSE-IC (Minimum Mean Square Error-Interference Cancellation) is an efficient detection algorithm in V-BLAST. To adopt the advantages of MMSE-IC, we introduce the interference cancellation into the MMSE-DFE based joint detection. By the aid of interference cancellation, the performance of the MMSE-DFE based joint detection is improved. The experiments show that the performance of the proposed joint detection algorithm has the better performance than the conventional MMSE-BDFE based joint detection.

This paper describes the implementation and optimization of TD-SCDMA joint detection and decoding, including channel re-estimation algorithm, soft de-rate-matching algorithm. The proposed algorithms can improve the performance, especially when the interference is great. The proposed algorithms can be applied in not only TD-SCDMA system, but also the evolution of TD-SCDMA, Wireless Local Area Network etc.
