The purpose of this research is to study the scope and magnitude of the impact of expressways and their entrances and exits, as well as the effects of environmental and socio-economic factors on those impacts. Based on multi-period remote-sensing images and land use/land cover change data, the expressway lines and entrances and exits in Hunan Province, China, in 2015 are selected as the research objects. The Urbanization Impact Index (U) and the Impact Strength Index (E) are used to characterize the impact of the expressway on peripheral land use. Geographic information system spatial analysis and correlation analysis methods are also used in this research. The results show that (1) the scope of the expressway impact is 8.4 km and that of the entrances and exits is 8.8 km, of which the impact is considered strong within 0.2 and 3.2 km, respectively; (2) environmental and socio-economic conditions have no obvious effect on the impact scope of the expressways but have a weak effect on the impact scope of the entrances and exits; and (3) regions with more complex terrain and a lower level of socio-economic development have the larger impact scope as well as a stronger impact.

In order to analyze the impact of the advanced traveler information systems (ATIS) on travelers' route choice behaviors, a bi-level programming model of road network reserve capacity considering link capacity restraint has been built. In the model, a mixed stochastic traffic assignment has been used to describe network equilibrium flow patterns under different information parameters in the lower model and the basic OD traffic demand multiplier is maximized without exceeding the corresponding link capacity in the upper model. A heuristic algorithm has been established to solve the model. Some numerical studies on a small road network have been presented to demonstrate the impact of different market penetration of ATIS on road network reserve capacity. The results show that network reserve capacity falls with market penetration increasing. Therefore, centralized effect should be evaluated during the implementation process of ATIS.

In order to obtain road network capacity under specified service level, a bi-level programming model of network reserve capacity based on road service level restraint is built. In this model, the basic OD traffic demand multiplier is maximized with service level restraint in the upper problem and a stochastic user equilibrium assignment model is used in the lower model. A algorithm is proposed for this bi-level programming model. A numerical example on a small road network is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the model and algorithm, and it indicates a positive correlation between the threshold of road network service level and road network reserve capacity: the more serious the traffic congestion degree is, the larger the traffic demand multiplier will be.

The Hengduan Mountains contain Neotethyan and Palaeotethyan ophiolites. Dengqen ophiolite is representative of Neotethyan ophiolite. Its extrusive series are typical fore-arc boninite and are considered to have formed in a fore-arc basin setting. It was emplaced at the end of the Jurassic. The Palaeotethyan ophiolite is widely distributed over the Hengduan Mountains. It is composed mainly of metamorphic periootite (mainly lherzolite), gabbro and basalt. Cumulative ultramafic rocks and sheeted dike complex are rarely exposed. Basalt in most of Palaeotethyan ophiolites have geochemical features similar to MORBs. Basalts in most associated sedimentological evidence, most of the Paleotethyan ophiolites (except Changning-Menglian ophiolite in big ocean basins) were formed in small ocean basins.

As the lack of researches of present literatures about the cooperative relation among traffic modes, in this paper, we establish a mutual beneficial cooperation model among urban traffic modes by using LV model which is proposed for simulating population dynamic relation in ecology. Then we preliminary discuss the inherent dynamics relation and evolution mechanism of the harmonious developments among different kinds of traffic modes from the perspective of theory by doing steady-state stability analysis and simulation to it. The simulation stud indicates that the evolvement directions of the cooperation system have multi-possibility and the evolvement results of it have close relationship with the cooperation effect. The urban traffic system can be developed rapidly and coordinately by the magnification of the cooperative effects.

Urban artery system, which is characterized by dynamic, concurrence and synchronization, is a hybrid dynamic system involving discrete and continuous behaviors. The dynamic actions of the urban artery system can be modeled through Petri nets. Therefore, modeling and control of the urban artery system based on Petri nets are discussed in this paper. First, a phase module is modeled using hybrid Petri nets according to modularization methods. Then, a distinct and readable model of the urban artery system is presented after coloring the phase module. Moreover, to scheme signal parameter, fuzzy theory is embedded into Petri nets by using fuzzy rules to define some transitions of Petri nets.

A heuristic method is advanced to solve the two problems “trip distribution” and “traffic as-signment” in a traffic network. The model depends on the overall optimum theory: The optimum trip distribution relates not only to the trip volumn of node, but also to the path on which the resistance is minimum.
