Abstract

The public's requirements for a high-quality residential environment and the general improvement in ecological safety awareness have made renewable resource wood and products more favored by furniture, construction and other industries. However, on the one hand, the supply of natural forests is extremely limited, and on the other hand, the materials of artificial forests have defects such as low surface strength and poor dimensional stability due to a loose fiber structure, which restricts their promotion as an alternative to high-quality wood. In this paper, based on the mechanism of wood reinforcement, several reinforcement techniques, such as impregnation, compaction and surface modification, which are widely used in industry, are briefly introduced. On this basis, the possibility of impregnation as a pretreatment method, surface modification and densification to enhance wood was prospected. It is expected to provide reference for improving the added value of plantation wood and alleviating the contradiction between wood supply and demand. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

This randomized controlled study investigated the feasibility of early ambulation after liver resection and the effect of the amount of activity on postoperative recovery.A total of 120 patients who underwent liver resection were randomly divided into two groups for the comparative analysis of the following factors: amount of activity, pain control, sleeping state, perioperative gastrointestinal function recovery, incidence of complications and postoperative hospital stay.Compared with the control group, patients undergoing liver resection performing early postoperative ambulation had faster gastrointestinal function recovery (First exhaust time 2.2 ± 1.4 vs. 3.3 ± 2.3 p 0.01; First flatus time 2.3 ± 1.7 vs. 3.1 ± 2.5 p = 0.04) and shorter postoperative hospital stays (6.6 ± 2.3 vs. 7.7 ± 2.1 p = 0.01), with statistically significant differences. There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups (p 0.05).Early ambulation after liver resection is safe and feasible. It can reduce the patient's pain and economic burden, increase the patient's comfort, reduce the nursing workload, achieve rapid recovery, and improve patient satisfaction.

28. CO2and CH4Sorption by Solid-State Ammonium and Imidazolium Ionic Liquids

Abstract

CO2and CH4capacities trapped by four solid-state ionic liquids, [N2222][PF6], [N4444][PF6], [C12mim][PF6], and [C16mim][PF6], were studied from 0.1 to 4 MPa at 303.15 K using a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) measurement system. Two imidazolium ionic liquids with very long alkyl chains performed better in CO2capture than the ammonium ones, while they were inferior for CH4capture. Accordingly, [C12mim][PF6] and [C16mim][PF6] have higher CO2/CH4selectivities than the ammonium ionic liquids. Due to the very long alkyl-substituted alkyl chain in [C16mim][PF6], ion aggregation makes it possess less space for gas accommodation, which is the main reason for its less CO2and CH4capacities than [C12mim][PF6]. The sorption simulation results also confirm that [C12mim][PF6] has larger CO2and CH4capacities than [C16mim][PF6]. In addition, molecular dynamics simulations were conducted using Lammps procedures, and it shows that the aggregation of cations of [C16mim][PF6] is stronger than that of [C12mim][PF6], leading to its less CO2and CH4accommodation space.
