Social life cycle assessment (S‐LCA) has garnered significant attention in academia and the business sector. To enhance the guidance of S‐LCA application and future research, it is imperative to conduct a thorough analysis of its research status and challenges, considering the extensive development of methodological approaches. Leveraging bibliometric and content analysis on 452 articles from the Web of Science database, this study examines publication trends and delineates the conceptual structure and coupling themes within the S‐LCA field. Through an amalgamation of bibliometric findings and a comparative analysis between life cycle assessment and S‐LCA, the study outlines prominent challenges. Five primary issues related to inventory construction and data conversion, as identified through content analysis, are presented. Objectives: This study aimed to develop an ultrasound‐guided high‐intensity‐focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) probe for arterial sonication and to evaluate vascular contraction. Methods: The USgHIFU probe comprised two confocal spherical transducers for sonication and a US color Doppler flow imaging probe for guidance. A vessel‐mimicking phantom was sonicated in two directions. In the vascular radial direction, an isolated rabbit aorta embedded in ex vivo pork liver was sonicated at different acoustic powers (245 and 519 W), flow rates (25, 30, and 50 mL/minute), and sonication energies (519, 980, and 1038 J). Changes in the postsonication vessels were evaluated using US imaging, microscopic observation, and histopathological analysis. Results: Beam focusing along the vascular radial direction caused significant deformation of both tube walls (n = 4), whereas focusing along the axial direction only affected the contraction of the anterior wall (n = 4). The contraction index (Dc) of the vessel sonicated at 245 W and 980 J was 56.2 ± 9.7% (n = 12) with 25 mL/minute. The Dc of the vessel sonicated at 519 W and 1038 J was 56.5 ± 7.8% (n = 17). The Dc of the vessel sonicated at 519 J total energy was 18.3 ± 5.1% (n = 12). Conclusion: The developed USgHIFU probe induced greater vascular contractions by covering a larger area of the vessel wall in the radial direction. Sonication energy affects vascular contraction through temperature elevation of the vessel wall. When the acoustic power was high, an increase in acoustic power, even with comparable sonication energy, did not result in greater vessel contraction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Pleural contact is present when the underlying pathology of the pleural tag (PT) involves the pleura. This study aimed to preoperatively predict PI by lung adenocarcinomas (ACCs) with PT, exploring CT imaging parameters indicative of PT consisting of pleura and tumor invasiveness. Methods: This single-center, retrospective study included 84 consecutive patients diagnosed with solid ACCs with PT, who underwent resection at our hospital between May 2019 and July 2023. CT imaging parameters analyzed included: LPT (the length of PT), defined as the shortest distance from the tumor edge to the retracted pleura. Patients were divided into PI -ve group and PI +ve group according to PI status. Regression analyses were used to determine predictive factors for PI. Results: The study evaluated 84 patients (mean age, 62.0 ± 13.8 years; 45 females) pathologically diagnosed with ACCs with PT on CT. Multivariate regression analysis identified tumor size (OR 1.18, 95% CI 1.09-1.29, p = 0.000), LPT (OR 0.48, 95% CI 0.25-0.91, p = 0.03) and multiple PTs to multiple types of pleura (OR 3.58, 95% CI 1.13-11.20, p = 0.03) as independent predictors for PI. The combination of these CT features improved the predictive performance for preoperatively identifying PI, achieving high specificity and moderate accuracy. The sensitivity of predicting PI with only LPT < 3 mm was 96.9%. Conclusion: This study determined that LPT is effective for predetermining PI in ACCs with PT. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Textile production involves using various chemicals that may remain in clothing and pose health risks. Alkylphenol ethoxylates are non-ionic surfactants which may be involved in various textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries due to their excellent emulsification, wetting and decontamination abilities. This study aimed to determine the dermal exposure doses and health risks of alkylphenol ethoxylates in 10 unwashed textile samples for infants, toddlers and pregnant women. The concentrations of alkylphenol ethoxylates and alkylphenols (APs) were determined by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The total concentrations of alkylphenol ethoxylates (nonylphenol ethoxylates and octylphenol ethoxylates) in 10 textile samples were 113.21–1431.18 mg/kg, among which nonylphenol ethoxylates with ethoxy groups of 2–10 were the dominant chemicals. The highest dermal exposure dose was found in the toddler group, which was 1.27 and 4.14 times higher than those in the infant and pregnant women groups. When the maximum concentration was used for risk assessment based on tolerable daily intake, the hazard indices (HI) for toddlers and infants were estimated to be 10.62 and 8.37, which may pose a higher risk to human health. Our assessment was specifically focused on new garments before washing. The garments containing alkylphenol ethoxylates can be washed to significantly reduce the exposure risk. The results of our study offer important information on human exposure to alkylphenol ethoxylates in textiles and clothing and provide a scientific basis for planning risk management measures for alkylphenol ethoxylates. Introduction: The Dachaidan ophiolites outcrop within an ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt along the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin. However, their age, source, and tectonic setting remain still in debate. Method: In this study, we investigated the geochemistry and geochronology of the Dachaidan ophiolitic gabbros. Results and Discussion: Zircon U-Pb dating yielded a crystallization age of 510.0 ± 2.8 Ma and 510.0 ± 2.9 Ma for the gabbro. The gabbros have low SiO2 contents (47.15-50.10 wt.%) and high MgO contents (6.35-9.04 wt.%) and Mg# values (55-74). The total rare earth element (∑REE) contents are 8.35-28.07 ppm, lower than those of normal-type mid-ocean ridge basalts (MORBs), and the gabbros exhibit light REE depletion or flat REE patterns, with small positive Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 1.06-1.40). Trace element patterns are depleted to enriched in Nb and Ta, similar to island arc rocks and MORB. Clinopyroxene thermobarometry indicates the parental magma of the gabbros formed by high-temperature (1,318°C-1,363°C) and medium-pressure (1.27-1.64 GPa) partial melting in a mantle wedge. The gabbros have depleted Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic compositions, with (87Sr/86Sr)i = 0.704586-0.707441, εNd(t) = 4.7-6.6, and zircon εHf(t) = 7.6-11.4. The age-corrected Pb isotope ratios of these volcanic rocks are variable, with 206Pb/204Pb(t) = 18.085-18.253, 207Pb/204Pb(t) = 15.595-15.614, and 208Pb/204Pb(t) = 37.880-38.148, which are similar to the isotopic compositions of typical Indian MORBs. The source of the Dachaidan ophiolite is inferred to have been depleted mantle. The Dachaidan ophiolite likely formed in a forearc oceanic setting along the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin, during the initial subduction of an oceanic plate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction Repeat implantation failure (RIF) is defined as failure of pregnancy despite implantation of a high-quality embryo at least 3 times, or of over 10 embryos on repeat implantation. RIF [...], The objectives of this study were to investigate the clinical efficacy of growth hormone (GH) in patients experiencing repeat implantation failure (RIF) and explore the possible mechanism. Forty-two RIF patients undergoing in vitro fertilization--embryo transfer (IVF-ET) were enrolled in the present trial: 22 patients who received GH (treatment group) and 20 who did not receive GH (controls). The clinical pregnancy and live birth rates in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (both P < 0.05). Nous avons inscrit au present essai 42 patientes presentant des EIR chez qui une fecondation in vitro avec transfert d&apos;embryon (FIV-TE) etait administree : 22 patientes ont recu de la GH (groupe de traitement) et 20 patientes n&apos;ont pas recu de GH (groupe temoin). Resultats : Les taux de grossesses cliniques et de naissances vivantes etaient nettement plus eleves dans le groupe de traitement que dans le groupe temoin (P < 0,05 pour chacun des taux). Nous avons observe que les taux d&apos;ARNm des recepteurs de la GH etaient nettement plus eleves dans le groupe de traitement que dans le groupe temoin (P < 0,05). Une analyse plus poussee a montre que les taux de GH dans le liquide folliculaire etaient directement proportionnels au degre d&apos;expression de l&apos;ARNm codant pour les recepteurs de la GH dans les cellules de la granulosa (r = 0,460, P < 0,05). L&apos;administration de GH permettait d&apos;ameliorer les resultats quant aux grossesses apres FIV avec une augmentation du taux de recepteurs de la GH dans du liquide avec des cellules de la granulosa. Dans le liquide folliculaire, les taux de GH etaient directement proportionnels au degre d&apos;expression des recepteurs de la GH.
