2. PointACL:Adversarial Contrastive Learning for Robust Point Clouds Representation under Adversarial Attack

Abstract

Despite recent success of self-supervised based contrastive learning model for 3D point clouds representation, the adversarial robustness of such pre-trained models raised concerns. Adversarial contrastive learning (ACL) is considered an effective way to improve the robustness of pre-trained models. In contrastive learning, the projector is considered an effective component for removing unnecessary feature information during contrastive pretraining and most ACL works also use contrastive loss with projected feature representations to generate adversarial examples in pretraining, while "unprojected " feature representations are used in generating adversarial inputs during inference.Because of the distribution gap between projected and "unprojected" features, their models are constrained of obtaining robust feature representations for downstream tasks. We introduce a new method to generate high-quality 3D adversarial examples for adversarial training by utilizing virtual adversarial loss with "unprojected" feature representations in contrastive learning framework. We present our robust aware loss function to train self-supervised contrastive learning framework adversarially. Furthermore, we find selecting high difference points with the Difference of Normal (DoN) operator as additional input for adversarial self-supervised contrastive learning can significantly improve the adversarial robustness of the pre-trained model. We validate our method, PointACL on downstream tasks, including 3D classification and 3D segmentation with multiple datasets. 4. Generation For Adaption: A GAN-Based Approach for 3D Domain Adaption with Point Cloud Data

Abstract

Recent deep networks have achieved good performance on a variety of 3d points classification tasks. However, these models often face challenges in "wild tasks".There are considerable differences between the labeled training/source data collected by one Lidar and unseen test/target data collected by a different Lidar. Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) seeks to overcome such a problem without target domain labels.Instead of aligning features between source data and target data,we propose a method that use a Generative adversarial network to generate synthetic data from the source domain so that the output is close to the target domain.Experiments show that our approach performs better than other state-of-the-art UDA methods in three popular 3D object/scene datasets (i.e., ModelNet, ShapeNet and ScanNet) for cross-domain 3D objects classification.

18. Effect of Flocculant on Properties of Portland Cement Mortar.

Abstract

The residual flocculant in manufactured sand produces adverse impact on properties of concrete. The effects of three types of flocculants, which are anionic polyacrylamide (APAM), nonionic polyacrylamide (NPAM) and polyaluminium chloride (PAC), and four dosages (0%, 0. 015%, 0. 030%, 0. 050%, mass fraction) on the fluidity, setting time and mechanical properties of Portland cement were examined. X-ray diffraction ( XRD) detection and scanning electron microscope (SEM) examination were conducted to explore the affecting mechanism of flocculants. In additions, the effects of water reducing agent, retarder and dispersant on the fluidity and mechanical strength reduced by flocculant were studied. The results show that APAM affects the fluidity of paste most significantly, and NPAM secondly, while PAC the least. Both APAM and NPAM slightly shorten the setting time, while PAC slightly prolongs the setting time of paste. Three flocculants all reduce the strength of mortar, and the higher the dosage is, the greater the decline is. Three flocculants all hardly change the hydration products of Portland cement, while APAM and PAC promote cement hydration, and NPAM inhibits the hydration. Abstract

[Objectives] The purpose was to establish an induction system for friable callus of Hedera nepalensis var. sinensis with different parts. [Methods] By screening the most suitable explant and adjusting the hormone ratio of medium, friable calli of H. nepalensis var. sinensis were induced. [Results] The calli could be induced from leaves, petioles and stem segments, but the ideal explant was stem segments, with induction rate reaching 98%. The optimal medium for callus proliferation was MS + 0.5 mg/L KT + 1.0 mg/L 2,4-D + 30.0 g/L sucrose. After 3-4 generations of subculture on MS+0.5 mg/L BA+1.0 mg/L 2,4-D+30.0 g/L sucrose, favorable friable calli of H. nepalensis var. sinensis were obtained. [Conclusions] The friable calli induced in this experiment can lay a foundation for in-vitro regeneration and cellular secondary metabolite production of H. nepalensis var. sinensis.

27. Association of handgrip strength with hypertension among middle-aged and elderly people in Southern China: A cross-sectional study.

Abstract

Backgroud and Purpose: Hypertension has been regarded as one of the most common chronic diseases reported in different studies, and handgrip strength is a good indicatorof anindividual's overall health. However, few studies have concentrated on investigating the relationship between hypertension and handgrip strength, especially for the middle-aged and elderly population in the community. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the association of handgrip strength with the risk of hypertension. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a multi-instrument questionnaire. A total of 1152 participants aged 45 and older were included in this study. Handgrip strength, social-demographiccharacteristics, behavioral lifestyle and health-related variables were collected. Binary logistic regression was employed to analyse the relationship. Results: Handgrip strength was positively related to the risk of hypertension. Binary logistic regression models revealed that the increase of handgrip strength was significantly associated with the reduction of hypertension risk in female after adjusting forsocial-demographic characteristics, behavioral lifestyle and health-related variables (OR [95%CI] =0.265 [0.089-0.787]). In addition, after stratifying by age groups, the significant association was still existing in 60-74 years and ≥75 years of female groups, respectively(OR [95%CI] =0.158 [0.032-0.779]; (OR [95%CI] =0.009 [0.000-0.409]). No significant associations were observed in male after adjusting variables. Conclusion: stronger handgrip strength was association with the lower risk ofhypertension for the elderly female population. Abstract

To understand function of NR gene roundly and get new breeding material, the NR gene was down-regulated by antisense inhibition and the reaction of physiological and growth and development were roundly researched in nr mutants of tomato. The result shows that the wild-type fruits (wt) have higher level of expression of NR gene than nr1, nr2, nr3, nr4. Ethylene synthesis of all mutants was much lower than of wt in all fruit ripening stage. The transpiration rate, stomatal conductance and cell membrane permeability were higher and respiration rate was lower in nr1, nr2 than in wt plants and intercellular CO2 concentration was higher in nr1 than in wt with T1 leaves. The number of branches was less and the length of internode and diameter of stem was more in nr lines than in wt. The color changes were substantially delayed in mutant fruits. The mutant fruit in nr1, nr2 reached the breaker stage of development at approximately 7 weeks, 7–9 days delayed compared with wt. The fruit of nr1, nr2 reached the hypermature stage of development at approximately 12.5 weeks, 37–38 days delayed compared with wt. The rot percent and weight loss percent of fruits was lower and the stem pull force was stronger in nr1 than in wt in room store. The result could be relative to interplay of receptors and functionally redundant of ethylene receptors.
