To ensure the timely execution of hard real-time applications, scheduling analysis techniques must consider safe upper bounds on the possible execution durations of tasks or runnables, which are referred to as Worst-Case Execution Times (WCET). Bounding WCET requires not only program path analysis but also modeling the impact of micro-architectural features present in modern processors. In this paper, we model the ARMv8 ISA and micro-architecture including instruction cache, branch predictor, instruction prefetching strategies, out-of-order pipeline. We also consider the complex interactions between these features (e.g., cache misses caused by branch predictions and branch misses caused by instruction pipelines) and estimate the WCET of the program using the Implicit Path Enumeration Technique (IPET) static WCET analysis method. We compare the estimated WCET of benchmarks with the observed WCET on two ARMv8 boards. The ratio of estimated to observed WCET values for all benchmarks is greater than 1, demonstrating the security of the analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Astrophysics - Abstract
(Abridged) We describe here the most ambitious survey currently planned in the optical, the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). A vast array of science will be enabled by a single wide-deep-fast sky survey, and LSST will have unique survey capability in the faint time domain. The LSST design is driven by four main science themes: probing dark energy and dark matter, taking an inventory of the Solar System, exploring the transient optical sky, and mapping the Milky Way. LSST will be a wide-field ground-based system sited at Cerro Pach\'{o}n in northern Chile. The telescope will have an 8.4 m (6.5 m effective) primary mirror, a 9.6 deg$^2$ field of view, and a 3.2 Gigapixel camera. The standard observing sequence will consist of pairs of 15-second exposures in a given field, with two such visits in each pointing in a given night. With these repeats, the LSST system is capable of imaging about 10,000 square degrees of sky in a single filter in three nights. The typical 5$\sigma$ point-source depth in a single visit in $r$ will be $\sim 24.5$ (AB). The project is in the construction phase and will begin regular survey operations by 2022. The survey area will be contained within 30,000 deg$^2$ with $\delta<+34.5^\circ$, and will be imaged multiple times in six bands, $ugrizy$, covering the wavelength range 320--1050 nm. About 90\% of the observing time will be devoted to a deep-wide-fast survey mode which will uniformly observe a 18,000 deg$^2$ region about 800 times (summed over all six bands) during the anticipated 10 years of operations, and yield a coadded map to $r\sim27.5$. The remaining 10\% of the observing time will be allocated to projects such as a Very Deep and Fast time domain survey. The goal is to make LSST data products, including a relational database of about 32 trillion observations of 40 billion objects, available to the public and scientists around the world., Comment: 57 pages, 32 color figures, version with high-resolution figures available from https://www.lsst.org/overview

Introduction: The timing of surgical repair for ureterovaginal fistula (UVF) is under debate, here we introduce our experience to compare the safety and efficacy between early and delayed ureteral reimplantation for UVF. Methods: Between January 2012 and January 2020, 22 patients who were diagnosed with UVF had received ureteral reimplantation. Baseline characteristics, history of previous abdominal surgery, operative profile, and follow-up data were collected and analyzed. Results: Among 22 patients diagnosed with UVF, 12 patients received early ureteral reimplantation and others received delayed ureteral reimplantation. Both groups were comparable in baseline characteristics and detailed history of previous operations. The mean operative time of the early surgery group was 140.83 ± 35.28 min, while that of the delayed surgery group was 181.00 ± 43.83 min (p = 0.027). Patients of the early surgery group (183.33 ± 107.31 mL) had less blood loss compared with that of the delayed surgery group (285.00 ± 94.43 mL) (p = 0.030). After an overall mean follow-up of 34.55 months, the ureteral stricture rate of two groups was not statistically significantly different (16.67% in early repair vs. 40.00% in delayed repair, p = 0.348). Conclusion: With similar long-term outcomes, the early ureteral reimplantation had a shorter operative time and less blood loss. Moreover, the stress during the waiting period could be minimized. High-quality clinical studies with larger sample size are needed to confirm the superior nature of early surgery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

According to the performance test requirements for the progress of IRFPA detector, a high performance DAQ system based on VXI and USB bus is designed and implemented. A variety of system ultra-low noise suppression measures effectively reduce the test system noise level, which has been proved by our preliminary test results. We use field programmable gate array (FPGA) to implement logic control. In the FPGA, the region of interest feature, online hardware compression algorithms and high-speed ping-pong transmission improve the flexibility and efficiency of the test. Through experiments on HgCdTe 640×512(15µm) IRFPA[3], sampling rates is up to 40MSPS and the background noise of test system is less than 115uV with stable performance.

The rapid technological progress has brought on the third generation of infrared detectors which keeps on asking for high performance test benches to evaluate them. DAQ system in a test bench has to be continuously improved to meet the demands for testing emerging new types of detectors. Based on the analysis of these demands from new features and new characteristics of the detectors, a high performance DAQ system prototype has been designed and implemented. Besides functionalities and flexible program-mability adapting for testing the variety of state-of-the-art infrared detectors, the superior performance of our system is embodied by ultra-low system background noise level (less than 70μV RMS noise), fast hardware on-line data compression, and advisable clock and trigger signals' distribution. A number of ultra-low noise design proposals have been proved to be effective by our preliminary test results. The system architecture makes it easy to be customized as different stand-alone devices to meet specific testing requirements, including no-limit the number of data acquisition channels.

- Abstract
The LSST Camera science sensor array will incorporate 189 large format Charge Coupled Device (CCD) image sensors. Each CCD will include over 16 million pixels and will be divided into 16 equally sized segments and each segment will be read through a separate output amplifier. The science goals of the project require CCD sensors with state of the art performance in many aspects. The broad survey wavelength coverage requires fully depleted, 100 micrometer thick, high resistivity, bulk silicon as the imager substrate. Image quality requirements place strict limits on the image degradation that may be caused by sensor effects: optical, electronic, and mechanical. In this paper we discuss the design of the prototype sensors, the hardware and software that has been used to perform electro-optic testing of the sensors, and a selection of the results of the testing to date. The architectural features that lead to internal electrostatic fields, the various effects on charge collection and transport that are caused by them, including charge diffusion and redistribution, effects on delivered PSF, and potential impacts on delivered science data quality are addressed., Physics
