By analyzing the monitoring data on adverse reactions of cosmetics in Huai'an city from 2017 to 2022, the characteristics and patterns of adverse reactions were explored and the reference and ideas for improvement of the monitoring system for adverse reactions of cosmetics were provided. Using the method of retrospective study, the monitoring data of adverse reactions of cosmetics collected through the national cosmetics adverse reaction monitoring system from 2017 to 2022 for Huai'an city were statistically analyzed. Most adverse reactions of cosmetics had occurred in young and middle-aged women aged 21-40. The patch test had been poorly conducted, with the most cases of cosmetics purchased online. Medical and health institutions had not played the role of main reporting channel. Production enterprises of cosmetics had weak awareness of reporting adverse reactions. It was suggested that the promotion and learning of policies and regulations should be enhanced, the monitoring and evaluation system should be further improved, the support of sentinel hospitals should be further strengthened, the main responsibilities of cosmetic registrants should be further implemented, and science popularization and propaganda activities should be carried out, in order to create an atmosphere of social governance. In the context of China's New Urbanization Strategy, it is of great practical significance to study rural–urban population migration from the perspective of house purchases by rural households. In this paper, the Huai'an Rural Survey Dataset (872,414 households) was used to study the heterogeneity of rural households' house purchases in different classes of urban destinations, and its influencing factors were analyzed with GeoDetector. The results show that the urban house purchase destinations preferred by farmers were county towns, townships, foreign cities, and metropolitan areas, indicating that in situ urbanization has become the main path of urbanization for farmers in Huai'an. Among the environmental influencing factors, the rural environment had the greatest influence on house purchases locally (in the township and county town), and this influence decreased with the outward shift of house purchase destinations. The housing environment, the settlement environment, and the population and family environment were the main environmental impact elements. The natural environment and the policy environment had little influence on the house-purchasing behavior of farmers, and the location environment was critical in exotic locations (metropolitan areas and foreign cities). Therefore, this paper argues that a higher demand for housing is growing in China's less developed rural areas, creating a situation in which the metropolitan area is the core and the county town is the main contributor. In terms of policy improvements, it is important to pay more attention to small cities such as counties and to offer housing concessions and welfare to "new citizens" from rural areas, as well as to significantly improve the housing, earnings, and public service environment for those who prefer to stay in the countryside. Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of 258 imported malaria cases of Huai' an city, and we provide scientific basis for improving malaria diagnosis and monitoring capacity, preventing secondary transmission of imported malaria, and consolidating the achievements of malaria elimination work. Methods Descriptive analysis was conducted by collecting the epidemiological survey data, basic situation table of epidemic spot, report of epidemic investigation and medical record data related to malaria diagnosis and treatment in hospital in Huai'an city from 2012 to 2019. Results All the types of malaria were detected in Huai'an city, including 203 cases of falciparum malaria, 4 cases of vivax malaria, 39 cases of ovale malaria, 8 cases of quartan malaria and 4 cases of mixed infection. These cases had a wide range of importing countries (22 countries). There were 255 cases from Africa, 2 cases from Oceania,and 1case from Southeast Asia,corresponding to the proportion of 98.83%,0.78% and 0.39% respectively. The number of living days abroad ranged from 15 to 2 990 days, and the number of onset times from 0 to 30. Before the Spring Festival, before the wheat harvest and before the autumn harvest were the three peaks of cases returning to China, accounting for 72.48% (187 / 258). Most of the reported cases are from District Qingjiangpu, which were 109 cases accounting for 42.25%. The young adults aging from 20 to 49 years old account for 83.33% (215 cases). There are 131 cases detected in the group of the migrant workers, accounting for 50.78%. The average time interval from returning home to onset was 9.5 days, and the longest was 634 days. Among them, 93.10% (189 / 203) of patients with falciparum malaria became ill within 30 days. The average interval between onset and diagnosis of patients was 2 days, and 254 cases were diagnosed within 30 days (98.45%). Conclusion Since 2012, all the reported malaria cases were imported. The health education for personnel shuttling between high malaria areas and screening for malaria among returnees should be strengthened. We should improve the ability of malaria diagnosis and treatment of medical institutions above the county level to review blood tablets. These methods can avoid the death cases and the secondary spread of the imported malaria, and consolidate the achievements in the elimination of the malaria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There is abundant rainfall in Huaihe River Basin as a land flowing with milk and honey, however it is also one of the high incidence areas with flood disaster. As a core city in Huaihe River Basin, Huai'an was selected for the study on carrying capacity of water environment from 2005 to 2014 using a method of analytic hierarchy process (AHP). And the paper combined water environment condition with the characteristics of regional socio-economy and environment in Huaihe River Basin. The results showed that water environment carrying capacity appeared an upward tendency. In three index layers, social factors had significant impact on the carrying capacity of water environment, and their changes were relatively consistent, total population, urbanization rate and residents living water were major constraints to water environment carrying capacity in Huai'an City.

This paper draws upon smart growth theory to provide an analytical framework of "smart identification" for industrial land to be readjusted. Huai'an city, Jiangsu province, China, is selected as a case example for the developed framework. Unlike the identification method of efficiency orientation for stock industrial land, which emphasizes the core goal of input and output of production factors per unit area, the smart identification framework covers the five dimensions of industrial policy, urban planning, socioeconomic benefits, transportation convenience, and environment protection. The framework pays more attention to the characteristics of high-quality socioeconomic development, including innovation-driven, coordinated, and sustainable development. Industrial land blocks are used as the research unit. A total of 1,552 industrial land blocks are identified for readjustment, covering an area of 4,008.7 hm2 and accounting for 54.3% of the total industrial land area in Huai'an city; this shows that considerable potential exists for adjustment. We argue that the evaluation index selection of intensive industrial land use and the method by which industrial land is identified for readjustment is influenced by the stage of socioeconomic development. The smart identification method is more consistent with the connotation of high-quality development, and more conducive to revealing the current demand and change law of industrial land against the background of industrial transformation and upgrading, which is of great significance with regard to promoting the intensive use and spatial optimization of industrial land. With the rapid development of urbanization, problems such as the tight supply and demand of water resources and the pollution of the water environment have become increasingly prominent, and the pressure on the carrying capacity of water resources has gradually increased. In order to better promote the sustainable development of cities, it is extremely important to coordinate the relationship between water resources and economic society. This study analyzed the current research status of water resources carrying capacity from two aspects, i.e., research perspective and research methodology, established an innovative evaluation system, and used the principal component analysis to analyze the water resources carrying capacity in Huai'an City, an important city in China's Huaihe River Ecological Economic Zone. Based on the results, it is found that the water resources carrying capacity of Huai'an City has been declining year by year from 2013 to 2019. Based on the evaluation results, suggestions and measures to improve the water resources carrying capacity of the empirical city are proposed to provide an important decision basis for the coordinated development of urban economy, society, and water resources. Objective: To understand the current status of chronic filariasis patients in Huai'an City, so as to provide insights into the future care of chronic filariasis patients., Methods: According to the data pertaining to the historically registered chronic filariasis patients in Huai 'an City, each case was followed up and the baseline data of chronic filariasis patients were captured using questionnaire survey. The demographic and clinical features of the patients, and the distribution and coverage of the care sites were analyzed., Results: There were still 616 chronic filariasis patients in Huai'an City, including 229 men (37.2%) and 387 women (62.8%), and 93.2% were aged 60 years and older. The chronic filariasis patients were found across the 8 counties (districts) across the city, and the cases were predominantly detected in Lianshui (40.3%), Huaiyin (30.8%) and Yuyi (8.0%). There were 49.0% of the patients with lymphedema or elephantiasis alone, 10.2% with chyluria alone, 1.0% with hydrocele of tunica vaginalis alone, 2.4% with lymphatic inflammation or lymphadenitis alone, and 37.3% with two or more types of symptoms, respectively, and all cases with lymphedema or elephantiasis alone had the sites of edema in the lower limbs, with over 90% at stages I to III. Currently, there are 81 care sites in the city covering 567 patients. The mean number of care activities was 3.2 times in 2018, and the mean cumulative duration of caring activities was 18.4 years in the care sites., Conclusions: Although the number of chronic filariasis patients has remarkably decreased, the number remains high in Jiangsu Province, and the cases are characterized by high age and long course of disease. Further caring activities are required to improve the quality of life in chronic filariasis patients.

Objective: To understand the situation and epidemic characteristics of imported falciparum malaria in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2016, so as to provide the evidence for formulating the prevention and control strategies of imported falciparum malaria in the city., Methods: The epidemic data of imported falciparum malaria in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2016 were analyzed by using the descriptive epidemiological method., Results: A total of 308 malaria cases were reported in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2016 with the average annual incidence of 0.88/10 5 . A total of 240 imported falciparum malaria cases were reported, of which 18 cases (7.50%) developed into severe illness, and 2 severe patients died. The cases were reported in every county (district), and the incidence rates of Qingpu District and Huai'an District were higher than the city average level. The cases occurred every month, so there was no significant seasonal variation in the reporting time of the cases. Most of the patients were young men and aged 30-49 years. The occupational distribution revealed that the patients were mainly farmers, workers and migrant workers. The main source of infection was from African countries. The median interval from symptom appearing to definite diagnosis was 1 day, and the longest interval was 236 days. Twenty-nine cases were diagnosed within 24 hours, accounting for 12.08%., Conclusions: The epidemic situation of imported falciparum malaria in Huai'an City is grim. In order to consolidate the achievements of malaria eradication, it is necessary to further improve the multi-sectoral cooperation mechanism, strengthen the management of floating population and take effective measures to reduce the risk of imported falciparum malaria.

Objective To analyze the results of the assessment of malaria elimination in 8 counties (districts) in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, so as to provide evidences for consolidating the achievement of malaria elimination. Methods The data from the network reports of malaria epidemic situation, blood examinations of febrile patients, epidemiological questionnaires of malaria cases, investigation and disposal of epidemic focuses were collected and analyzed in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2016. The results of the assessment on the clinicians'ability of malaria diagnosis and treatment as well as the inspectors'skill of Plasmodium microscopic examinations were analyzed. In the natural village where the last local case of malaria was reported, no less than 200 blood filter papers were made for gene detection of Plasmodium . Results From 2010 to 2016, 308 malaria cases were reported in Huai'an City. Totally 323 002 patients received blood detection of malaria, among which 272 ones were positive and the positive rate was 0.08%. The majority of the malaria cases were imported, except 19 and 3 local infection cases in 2010 and 2011, respectively. Except Qinghe District, a total of 1 420 blood filter papers from the other 7 counties (districts) were detected genetically, and the results were all negative. Six of the eight counties (districts) gained an average score of 20 points on the Plasmodium microscopic examination, and Jinhu County and Huai'an District got a minimum average score of 19.6 points. In capacity assessment of malaria diagnosis and treatment, Hongze District gained the highest average score of 20 points, and Huai'an District got the lowest average score of 18.8 points. The malaria elimination assessment scores of the eight counties (districts) were all above 97 points. All the 8 counties (districts) in Huai'an City passed the malaria elimination assessment at county (district) level until 2016. Conclusions All the 8 counties (districts) in Huai'an City have passed the malaria elimination assessment with high scores. After the malaria elimination, the monitoring still should continue to consolidate the achievement.

Objective: To understand the awareness status on malaria control knowledge of residents, primary and middle school students in Huai'an District, Huai'an City, so as to provide the evidences for promoting the malaria elimination process in this district., Methods: Three towns in Huai'an District were selected randomly, and one village, one primary school and one junior middle school in each town were chosen as the investigation sites. The residents over 18 years old, the primary school students in Grade 4 to 6, and the junior middle students in the investigation sites were investigated by questionnaires to understand their awareness status on knowledge of malaria control., Results: Totally 305 residents and 618 students were investigated. The awareness rate of students was 89.97%, and the rates of the junior middle school students and primary school students were 85.94% and 94.10%, respectively, the difference between them was statistically significant ( P ＜0.01). The awareness rate of the residents was 80.98%, which was lower than that of the students ( P ＜0.05). For the students, the awareness rate on "precaution of malaria" (96.74%) was the highest, while that on "drug of malaria" (68.93%) was the lowest. For the residents, the rate on "transmission route of malaria" (95.08%) was the highest, that on "4·26 is Malaria Day" (64.26%) was the lowest. Expect the items of "transmission route of malaria" and "precaution of malaria" (both P ＞0.05), the differences of the awareness rates on all the other items between the students and residents were statistically significant (all P ＜0.01)., Conclusions: Although the awareness rates of malaria control knowledge in the population of Huai'an District, Huai'an City have achieved the goal of the relevant requirement, the health education on malaria control still should be strengthened, especially for the primary students, female residents and exported labor service personnel.

Objective: To investigate the execution and effect of the prevention and control system for malaria eliminating in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2015, so as to provide the evidence for formulating and adjusting the strategy and measures for malaria elimination., Methods: The data of network malaria reports, blood tests of feverish patients, epidemiology investigation forms of case study of malaria patients in the report system, and the investigation and disposition forms of epidemic foci were collected and analyzed statistically., Results: From 2010 to 2015, there were 267 malaria cases in total in Huai'an City. Totally 303 016 feverish patients had blood tests, and 231 of them showed positive and the positive rate was 0.08%. The epidemiological case studies showed that all the patients were foreign imported cases except 22 local infected vivax malaria cases in 2010 and 2011. All the malaria cases were reported after diagnosis within 24 hours through the directly reported network, and the implementation rate was 100%. All the malaria cases had an epidemiological investigation within 3 days with 100% implementation rate, in which 261 (97.95%) cases were investigated within 2 days. All the cases had an epidemical investigation and disposition within 7 days with 100% implementation rate, in which 252 (94.38%) cases were completed within 5 days., Conclusions: The implementation rate of malaria elimination work mode has reached 100% in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2015, and there are no local infected cases in recent four years.
