Our previous studies have demonstrated the roles of voltage-gated sodium channels NaV1.7 and NaV1.8 in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) in colonic hypersensitivity of rats with diabetes. This study was designed to determine roles of antioxidant α-lipoic acid (ALA) on sodium channel activities and colonic hypersensitivity of rats with diabetes. Methods: Streptozotocin was used to induce diabetes in adult female rats. Colonic sensitivity was measured by behavioral responses to colorectal distention in rats. The excitability and sodium channel currents of colon projection DRG neurons labeled with DiI were measured by whole-cell patch-clamp recordings. The expressions of NaV1.7 and NaV1.8 of colon DRGs were measured by western blot analysis. Results: ALA treatment significantly increased distention threshold in responding to colorectal distension in diabetic rats compared with normal saline treatment. ALA treatment also hyperpolarized the resting membrane potentials, depolarized action potential threshold, increased rheobase, and decreased frequency of action potentials evoked by ramp current stimulation. Furthermore, ALA treatment also reduced neuronal sodium current densities of DRG neurons innervating the colon from rats with diabetes. In addition, ALA treatment significantly downregulated NaV1.7 and NaV1.8 expression in colon DRGs from rats with diabetes. Conclusion: Our results suggest that ALA plays an analgesic role, which was likely mediated by downregulation of NaV1.7 and NaV1.8 expressions and functions, thus providing experimental evidence for using ALA to treat colonic hypersensitivity in patients with diabetic visceral pain. This research proposes a new medical procurement decision-making tool named Evaluation of Medical Technology Procurement (EMTP), which combines Mini-health Technology Assessment (Mini HTA) with the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), as well as the intuitionistic linguistic multi-criteria group decision model for multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). This tool was applied to a medical device procurement decision in a large provincial general hospital with more than 5000 beds in China as a case study. Specifically, the AHP evaluation framework is first established to determine the evaluation dimensions and criteria. This goal is achieved by applying the AdHopHTA Mini-HTA template and gathering data from questionnaires completed by experts from 33 major public hospitals in Anhui Province, China. The professionals within the application hospital were invited to evaluate the alternative products in a pairwise comparison and obtain a ranking of their advantages and disadvantages. This goal is achieved using the intuitionistic linguistic fuzzy model to deal with the subjectivity and uncertainty that may be present in the professional evaluation by experts in different fields. At the same time, the Keeney-Raiffa MCDA (KRM) method was used to demonstrate the accuracy of the application results. The results show that our tool can achieve the same effect as the verification method while being more efficient, easier to use, and requiring fewer participants. The advantages and disadvantages of several evaluation methods combined with multi-criteria methods are discussed, including verification methods, pointing out the advantages and limitations of this research tool as well as the prospects for the future.

During an investigation of fungal diversity from freshwater environments in different regions in Jiangxi Province, China, four interesting species were collected. Morphology coupled with combined gene analysis of an ITS, LSU, SSU, and rpb2 DNA sequence data showed that they belong to the family Pleurotheciaceae . Four new species, Pleurotheciella ganzhouensis , Pla. irregularis , Pla. verrucosa , and Pleurothecium jiangxiense are herein described. Pleurotheciella ganzhouensis is characterized by its capsule-shaped conidia and short conidiophores, while Pla. irregularis has amorphous conidiophores and 3-septate conidia. Pleurotheciella verrucosa has cylindrical or verrucolose conidiogenous cells, 1-septate, narrowly fusiform, meniscus or subclavate conidia. Pleurothecium jiangxiense characterized in having conidiogenous cells with dense cylindrical denticles and short conidiophores. Pleurothecium obovoideum was transferred to Neomonodictys based on phylogenetic evidence. Seeds are important microbial vectors, and seed-associated pathogens can be introduced into a country through trade, resulting in yield and quality losses in agriculture. The aim of this study was to characterize the microbial communities associated with barley seeds, and based on which, to develop technical approaches to trace their geographical origins, and to inspect and identify quarantine pathogens. Our analysis defined the core microbiota of barley seed and revealed significant differences in the barley seed-associated microbial communities among different continents, suggesting a strong geographic specificity of the barley seed microbiota. By implementing a machine learning model, we achieved over 95% accuracy in tracing the origin of barley seeds. Furthermore, the analysis of co-occurrence and exclusion patterns provided important insights into the identification of candidate biocontrol agents or microbial inoculants that could be useful in improving barley yield and quality. A core pathogen database was developed, and a procedure for inspecting potential quarantine species associated with barley seed was established. These approaches proved effective in detecting four fungal and three bacterial quarantine species for the first time in the port of China. The rotting wood in freshwater is a unique eco-environment favoring various fungi. During our investigation of freshwater fungi on decaying wood, three hyphomycetes were collected from Jiangxi and Guangxi Provinces, China. Based on the morphological observations and phylogenetic analysis of a combined DNA data containing ITS, LSU, SSU and tef1-α sequences, two new Trichobotrys species, T.meilingensis and T.yunjushanensis , as well as a new record of T.effusa , were introduced. Melanommataceous species exhibit high diversity with a cosmopolitan distribution worldwide and show a prominent saprobic lifestyle. In this study, we explored five saprobic species collected from plant litter substrates from terrestrial habitats in China and Thailand. A combination of morphological characteristics and multi-locus phylogenetic analyses was used to determine their taxonomic classifications. Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian Inference analyses of combined LSU, SSU, ITS and tef1-α sequence data were used to clarify the phylogenetic affinities of the species. Byssosphaeriapoaceicola and Herpotrichiazingiberacearum are introduced as new species, while three new host records, Bertiellafici , By.siamensis and Melanommapopulicola are also reported from litter of Cinnamomumverum , Citrustrifoliata and Fagussylvatica , respectively. Yet, despite the rising interest in the melanommataceous species, there is a considerable gap in knowledge on their host associations and geographical distributions. Background: Peritoneal lesions present diagnostic challenges, necessitating precise imaging techniques. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) offers a promising approach for accurate diagnosis, aiding in optimal patient management and treatment planning., Objective: This study aims to assess the diagnostic efficacy of EUS-FNA in peritoneal lesions to offer insight in guiding optimal patient management., Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted, and a total of 58 patients who underwent EUS-FNA of the peritoneum at our hospital between October 2021 and November 2021 were included. The ultrasound diagnostic instrument facilitated puncture guidance, with 2-5 punctures performed in various parts of the selected peritoneal lesion areas. The analysis encompassed evaluating the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of biopsy for diagnosing peritoneal-associated lesions, alongside assessing the number of punctures, puncture satisfaction, and incidence of postoperative complications., Results: The included patients undergoing EUS-FNA revealed that 41 (70.69%) had malignant lesions, while 17 (29.31%) presented with benign lesions. The diagnostic accuracy of EUS-FNA for peritoneal lesions was determined to be 94.83%, with a diagnostic sensitivity of 97.30% for malignant tumors, specificity of 90.48%, positive predictive value of 94.74%, and negative predictive value of 95%. Lesions exhibited a size range of 2.5cm × 2.9cm to 15.2cm × 9.8cm. Each patient underwent 2-5 punctures (3.3 ± 1.4), with a puncture satisfaction rate of 96.55%. The incidence of postoperative complications following EUS-FNA was found to be 3.45%., Conclusion: EUS-FNA exhibits substantial diagnostic utility for peritoneal-related lesions, marked by exceptional accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and favorable safety. Its clinical adoption is warranted, promising improved patient care and management.

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation is considered the third circulation of the human body. Recently, some scholars have proposed the myodural bridge (MDB) as a novel power source for CSF flow. Moreover, the suboccipital muscles can exert a driving force on the CSF via the MDB. This hypothesis is directly supported by head rotation and nodding movements, which can affect CSF circulation. The MDB has been validated as a normal structure in humans and mammals. In addition, the fusion of MDB fibers of different origins that act in concert with each other forms the MDB complex (MDBC). The MDBC may be associated with several CSF disorder-related neurological disorders in clinical practice. Therefore, the morphology of the MDBC and its influencing factors must be determined. In this study, T2-weighted imaging sagittal images of the cervical region were analyzed retrospectively in 1085 patients, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) typing of the MDBC was performed according to the imaging features of the MDBC in the posterior atlanto-occipital interspace (PAOiS) and posterior atlanto-axial interspace (PAAiS). The effects of age and age-related degenerative changes in the cervical spine on MRI staging of the MDBC were also determined. The results revealed four MRI types of the MDBC: type A (no MDBC hyposignal shadow connected to the dura mater in either the PAOiS or PAAiS), type B (MDBC hyposignal shadow connected to the dura mater in the PAOiS only), type C (MDBC hyposignal shadow connected to the dura mater in the PAAiS only), and type D (MDBC hyposignal shadow connected to the dura mater in both the PAOiS and PAAiS). The influencing factors for the MDBC typing were age (group), degree of intervertebral space stenosis, dorsal osteophytosis, and degenerative changes in the cervical spine (P < 0.05). With increasing age (10-year interval), the incidence of type B MDBC markedly decreased, whereas that of type A MDBC increased considerably. With the deepening of the degree of intervertebral space stenosis, the incidence of type C MDBC increased significantly, whereas that of type A MDBC decreased. In the presence of dorsal osteophytosis, the incidence of type C and D MDBCs significantly decreased, whereas that of type A increased. In the presence of protrusion of the intervertebral disc, the incidence of type B, C, and D MDBCs increased markedly, whereas that of type A MDBC decreased considerably, with cervical degenerative changes combined with spinal canal stenosis. Moreover, the incidence of both type C and D MDBCs increased, whereas that of type A MDBC decreased. Based on the MRI signal characteristics of the dural side of the MDBC, four types of the MDBC were identified. MDBC typing varies dynamically according to population distribution, depending on age and cervical degeneration (degree of intervertebral space stenosis, vertebral dorsal osteophytosis formation, simple protrusion of intervertebral disc, and cervical degeneration changes combined with spinal canal stenosis, except for the degree of protrusion of the intervertebral disc and the degree of spinal canal stenosis); however, it is not influenced by sex., (© 2024. Background: Anisopteromalus calandrae (Howard) is a solitary ectoparasitoid with wide-ranging potential applications as a natural biological control agent against various coleopterous pests in food warehouses. Implementing an effective cold storage program is crucial for extending the shelf life of biological control agents and ensuring their stable and abundant supply. Herein, we attempted to determine the optimal cold storage conditions for Anisopteromalus calandrae by investigating the effect of cold storage at three different temperatures (7, 13, and 19 °C) for 7, 21, and 35 days on four developmental stages (late-instar larvae, early-stage pupae, mid-stage pupae, and 2-day-old adults). Additionally, we explored the maximum cold storage potential by observing early-stage pupae stored at 13 °C for various durations (30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 days)., Results: The most suitable cold storage temperature for the early-stage pupae of Anisopteromalus calandrae was 13 °C, and the highest adult emergence rate (98.3%) was after 90 days of storage at 13 °C. Furthermore, we did not find any significant effect on longevity (female: 44.3 days; male: 38.1 days) or fecundity (121.7 wasps). The female ratio ranged from 43.5% to 50.8%. More importantly, cold storage did not adversely affect the developmental duration or fecundity of the offspring., Conclusion: This study offers crucial insights for managing Anisopteromalus calandrae populations under laboratory conditions and lays the foundation for potential industrial production and development. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry., (© 2023 Society of Chemical Industry.)

During the investigations of macrofungi resources in Zhejiang Province, China, an interesting wood rot fungus was collected. Based on morphological and molecular phylogenetic studies, it is described as a new species, Anthracophyllum sinense. A. sinense is characterized by its sessile, charcoal black and pleurotoid pileus, sparse lamellae occasionally branching, clavate basidia with long sterigmata [(3-)6-7(-8) μm], and non-heteromorphous cystidia. Background: Metabolic reprogramming plays an important role in tumor progression and antitumor immunity. START domain-containing proteins (STARDs) are responsible for lipid metabolism. However, the underlying functions of STARDs in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) have not been clarified yet. Methods: Oncomine, UALCAN, TCGA and CPTAC were used to explore the expression landscape and clinicopathological characteristics of STARDs in LUAD. Diagnostic and prognostic values were assessed by Kaplan-Meier Plotter, Cox regression analysis, and ROC curve. GeneMANIA, GO, KEGG and GSEA were applied for exploring the potential biological functions. Epigenetic process, including mutation and m6A modification were analyzed by cBioPortal and TCGA. TIMER, TISIDB and TCGA cohort provided an immune signature. The correlation between STARDs expression and ferroptosis was analyzed by TCGA. Finally, the STARDs expression were confirmed by RT-qPCR and western blot. Results: STARD5/10/14 were overexpressed in LUAD compared with normal, while STARD4/7/8/11/12/13 were relatively low. STARD5/12/14 levels were positively related to clinical and lymph node stage. Survival analysis showed high STARD12 expression was associated with favorable overall survival, disease special survival as well as disease free survival, while STARD14 showed the opposite. GSEA analysis found STARD12 and STARD14 were associated with glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation and tumor related signaling pathways. STARD12 co-expressed genes participated in cell cycle and DNA replication, and STARD14 were enriched in ECM-receptor interaction. Both STARD12 and STARD14 were corelated with epigenetic regulation, especially TP53 mutation and m6A modification. STARD12 expression was positively correlated with TMB level. The level of STARD12 was significantly associated with the abundance of infiltrating immune cells, including B cells, CD8+T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and chemokine, receptor, MHC, immunostimulatory related genes. STARD14 was negatively associated with the infiltration of CD8+T cells, while positively with CCL28 and immune checkpoints, including CTLA4 as well as PD-L2. In addition, STARD12/14 could regulate the ferroptosis related genes. Fungi of the order Boletales are extremely important in both ecology and economy, since most of them are ectomycorrhizal fungi, which play vital roles in maintaining forest ecosystems, water and soil protection, vegetation restoration and so on. Although previous studies have shown that this order has a very high species diversity in China, there are few reports on the species diversity of boletes in Jiangxi Province, China. Based on morphological (macroscopic and microscopic morphological characteristics) and phylogenetic analyses (ITS, LSU, and TEF1-α sequences), in this study, the wild boletes in Jiangxi Province were investigated, and five new species are described: Austroboletus albus , Xanthoconium violaceipes , Xanthoconium violaceofuscum , Xerocomus rutilans and Xerocomus subsplendidus . Descriptions and hand drawings of the new species are presented.

Driven by precursor emissions, meteorological conditions, and other factors, atmospheric ozone (O 3 ) has become the main pollutant affecting urban air quality in summer. The current deductive models driven by physical and chemical mechanisms require a large number of parameters for the analysis of O 3 pollution, and the calculation timeliness is poor. The data-driven inductive models are efficient but have problems such as poor explanation. In this study, an explainable model of data-driven Correlation-ML-SHAP was established to reveal the strongly correlated influencing factors of O 3 concentration. Additionally, the machine learning ML module coupled with the explainable SHAP module was used to calculate the contributions of driving factors to O 3 concentration, so as to realize the quantitative analysis of driving factors. The O 3 pollution process in the summer of 2021 in Jincheng City was used as an example to carry out the application research. The results showed that the Correlation-ML-SHAP model could reveal and use strong driving factors to simulate O 3 concentration and quantify influence contribution, and the ML module used the XGBoost model to achieve the best simulation accuracy. Air temperature, solar radiation, relative humidity, and precursor emission level were the strong driving factors of O 3 pollution in Jincheng City in summer 2021, and the contribution weights were 32.1%, 21.3%, 16.5%, and 15.6%. The contribution weights of air temperature, solar radiation, and precursor emission level increased by 3.4%, 1.2%, and 1.2% on polluted days, respectively, and the contribution weights of precursor emission level rose to third place on polluted days. Each driving factor had a nonlinear interaction effect on O 3 concentration. When the air temperature exceeded 24℃, or the relative humidity was lower than 70%, there was a 94.9% and 94.1% probability of positive contribution to O 3 pollution, respectively. Under such meteorological conditions, ρ (NO 2 ) exceeded 9 μg·m -3 , or ρ (CO) exceeded 0.7 mg·m -3 , and there was a 94.9% and 99.3% probability of positive contribution to O 3 pollution, respectively. The southeast wind speed was lower than 5.8 m·s -1 , or the south wind speed was lower than 5.3 m·s -1 , both of which contributed positively to O 3 pollution. The model quantitatively analyzed the influence contribution of various driving factors on urban O 3 concentration, which could provide a basis for the prevention and control of urban atmospheric O 3 pollution in summer.

Background: Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is recommended as the best tool for evaluating gastric subepithelial lesions (SELs); nonetheless, it has difficulty distinguishing gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) from leiomyomas and schwannomas. GISTs have malignant potential, whereas leiomyomas and schwannomas are considered benign., Purpose: This study aimed to establish a combined radiomic model based on EUS images for distinguishing GISTs from leiomyomas and schwannomas in the stomach., Methods: EUS images of pathologically confirmed GISTs, leiomyomas, and schwannomas were collected from five centers. Gastric SELs were divided into training and testing datasets based on random split-sample method (7:3). Radiomic features were extracted from the tumor and muscularis propria regions. Principal component analysis, least absolute shrinkage, and selection operator were used for feature selection. Support vector machine was used to construct radiomic models. Two radiomic models were built: the conventional radiomic model included tumor features alone, whereas the combined radiomic model incorporated features from the tumor and muscularis propria regions., Results: A total of 3933 EUS images from 485 cases were included. For the differential diagnosis of GISTs from leiomyomas and schwannomas, the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve were 74.5%, 72.2%, 78.7%, and 0.754, respectively, for the EUS experts; 76.8%, 74.4%, 81.0%, and 0.830, respectively, for the conventional radiomic model; and 90.9%, 91.0%, 90.6%, and 0.953, respectively, for the combined radiomic model. For gastric SELs <20 mm, the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of the combined radiomic model were 91.4%, 91.6%, 91.1%, and 0.960, respectively., Conclusions: We developed and validated a combined radiomic model to distinguish gastric GISTs from leiomyomas and schwannomas. The combined radiomic model showed better diagnostic performance than the conventional radiomic model and could assist EUS experts in non-invasively diagnosing gastric SELs, particularly gastric SELs <20 mm., (© 2023 The Authors. Fusarium species are important cereal pathogens that cause severe production losses to major cereal crops such as maize, rice, and wheat. However, the causal agents of Fusarium diseases on cereals have not been well documented because of the difficulty in species identification and the debates surrounding generic and species concepts. In this study, we used a citizen science initiative to investigate diseased cereal crops (maize, rice, wheat) from 250 locations, covering the major cereal-growing regions in China. A total of 2 020 Fusarium strains were isolated from 315 diseased samples. Employing multi-locus phylogeny and morphological features, the above strains were identified to 43 species, including eight novel species that are described in this paper. A world checklist of cereal-associated Fusarium species is provided, with 39 and 52 new records updated for the world and China, respectively. Notably, 56 % of samples collected in this study were observed to have co-infections of more than one Fusarium species, and the detailed associations are discussed. Following Koch's postulates, 18 species were first confirmed as pathogens of maize stalk rot in this study. Furthermore, a high-confidence species tree was constructed in this study based on 1 001 homologous loci of 228 assembled genomes (40 genomes were sequenced and provided in this study), which supported the "narrow" generic concept of Fusarium (= Gibberella ). This study represents one of the most comprehensive surveys of cereal Fusarium diseases to date. It significantly improves our understanding of the global diversity and distribution of cereal-associated Fusarium species, as well as largely clarifies the phylogenetic relationships within the genus. Objective: This study aims to estimate the cost-effectiveness of the combined chemotherapy regimen containing Bedaquiline (BR) and the conventional treatment regimen (CR, not containing Bedaquiline) for the treatment of adults with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in China., Methods: A combination of a decision tree and a Markov model was developed to estimate the cost and effects of MDR patients in BR and CR within ten years. The model parameter data were synthesized from the literature, the national TB surveillance information system, and consultation with experts. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) of BR vs . CR was determined., Results: BR ( vs . CR) had a higher sputum culture conversion rate and cure rate and prevented many premature deaths (decreased by 12.8%), thereby obtaining more quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) (increased by 2.31 years). The per capita cost in BR was as high as 138,000 yuan, roughly double that of CR. The ICER for BR was 33,700 yuan/QALY, which was lower than China's 1× per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2020 (72,400 yuan)., Conclusion: BR is shown to be cost effective. Epilepsy is considered to result from an imbalance between excitation and inhibition of the central nervous system. Pathogenic mutations in the methyl-CpG binding domain protein 5 gene (MBD5) are known to cause epilepsy. However, the function and mechanism of MBD5 in epilepsy remain elusive. Here, we found that MBD5 was mainly localized in the pyramidal cells and granular cells of mouse hippocampus, and its expression was increased in the brain tissues of mouse models of epilepsy. Exogenous overexpression of MBD5 inhibited the transcription of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 gene (Stat1), resulting in increased expression of N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) subunit 1 (GluN1), 2A (GluN2A) and 2B (GluN2B), leading to aggravation of the epileptic behaviour phenotype in mice. The epileptic behavioural phenotype was alleviated by overexpression of STAT1 which reduced the expression of NMDARs, and by the NMDAR antagonist memantine. These results indicate that MBD5 accumulation affects seizures through STAT1-mediated inhibition of NMDAR expression in mice. Functional raw materials rich in various effective nutrients and active ingredients that are of stable quality can be obtained from the liquid fermentation of edible and medicinal fungi. In this review, we systematically summarize the main findings of this comparative study that compared the components and efficacy of liquid fermented products from edible and medicinal fungi with those from cultivated fruiting bodies. Additionally, we present the methods used in the study to obtain and analyze the liquid fermented products. The application of these liquid fermented products in the food industry is also discussed. With the potential breakthrough of liquid fermentation technology and the continued development of these products, our findings can serve as a reference for further utilization of liquid fermented products derived from edible and medicinal fungi. Further exploration of liquid fermentation technology is necessary to optimize the production of functional components from edible and medicinal fungi, and to enhance their bioactivity and safety. Investigation of the potential synergistic effects of combining liquid fermented products with other food ingredients is also necessary to enhance their nutritional values and health benefits.

Background: Freshwater fungi refer to the fungi that depend on the freshwater habitats for the whole life cycle or part of their life cycle. In this context, a new aquatic hyphomycete was isolated from decaying wood in a freshwater habitat in Jiangxi Province, China., New Information: Dictyochaetajiangxiensis sp. nov., a new aquatic hyphomycete, is characterised by its unbranched, septate, base-fertile conidiophores with multisepta and single phialide at the apex, brown, sterile seta, monophialidic, subcylindrical conidiogenous cells narrowing below the funnel-shaped collarette, hyaline, unicellular, thin-walled, smooth, guttulate, falcate to subclavate conidia narrowly rounded at both ends with hair-like appendages. Phylogenetically, the new species Dictyochaetajiangxiensis clustered together with Dictyochaetabrevis MFLU 19-0216 in a well-supported clade, but formed a separate branch. In order to better define the taxonomic status of the new species, a phylogenetic tree of most closely-related taxa in Chaetosphaeriaceae was established, based on multi-locus sequences (ITS and LSU). Background: Freshwater fungi are an integral part of freshwater ecosystems. They promote the carbon cycle of the ecosystem by decomposing wood substrates. Menisporopsis is a fungal genus of Chaetosphaeriales in Sordariomycetes, which has been commonly collected from aquatic and marine environments. Most species of this genus are saprophytes., New Information: Here, a new freshwater hyphomycetous fungus, Menisporopsisaquatica , reported from submerged rotten wood samples collected in a stream in Zhejiang Province, south-eastern China. The new species is characterised by hyaline conidia appendiculate with 1-2 setulae at each end and synnematous conidiophores growing closely around a black central seta. Molecular phylogeny of Menisporopsis was studied using a combined two-loci dataset, including the internal transcribed spacer sequences (ITS) and the nuclear ribosomal large subunit gene sequences (nrLSU). Background: Cyclocybe chaxingu is an edible and medicinal fungal species commonly cultivated in China. The major problems currently facing by growers of C. chaxingu is the random labeling of strains and strains aging and degeneration. Therefore, an evaluation of genetic diversity is essential for the conservation and reproducing programs of this species., Methods: In the present study, 24 widely cultivated strains were collected from the main producing areas of China, and the genetic diversity analysis was performed. DNA polymorphism among these Chinese C. chaxingu strains was analyzed using inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) and sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) markers., Results: Eight ISSR primers amplified a total of 75 DNA fragments of which 61 (81.33%) were polymorphic. Fifteen SRAP primer combinations amplified 166 fragments of which 132 (79.52%) were polymorphic. Cluster analysis showed that the C. chaxnigu strains fall into five groups with a genetic distance values ranging from 0.06 to 0.60 by ISSR analysis, while the SRAP analysis divided the test strains into four groups within the range of genetic distance from 0.03 to 0.57. Background: Forkhead box P (FOXP) family was introduced as a double-edged sword in tumorigenesis and influenced immunotherapy response by modulating host immunity. This study aimed to summarize the involvement of the FOXP family in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: The UALCAN, Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA), and Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT‒qPCR) were used to analyse the expression levels of the FOXP family in NSCLC. The prognostic impact was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier Plotter. MethSurv, UALCAN, and cBioPortal were applied to analyse the DNA methylation and mutation status of the FOXP family respectively. COEXPEDIA, STRING, and GeneMANIA were used to explore the interaction mechanism. Finally, TISIDB was used to investigate all of the immune-related characteristics regulated by the FOXP family. Results: The expression levels of FOXP1/3/4 were dysregulated in NSCLC tissues than that in normal tissues. Groups with low expression levels of FOXP1/4 and high expression levels of FOXP2/3 were associated with poor prognosis in NSCLC. The transcriptional levels of FOXP2/3/4 were correlated with DNA methylation in NSCLC. FOXP1/3/4 DNA methylation were correlated with prognosis. Pathway enrichment analysis indicated the FOXP family was mainly related to immune-related pathways. After DNA methylation, the correlations between FOXP family and immune factors were opposite to that before alteration in NSCLC. Conclusion: This study elucidated FOXP family could serve as vital diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in NSCLC. Objectives: Gastric cancer in adolescents and young adults (GCAYA) has been ignored by both patients and physicians. We examined the disease burden of GCAYA and its secular trends in incidence and mortality., Study Design: A comprehensive analysis of the global burden of GCAYA based on data provided by GLOBOCAN 2020., Methods: Global, regional, sex, and country-specific data of the incidence and mortality of GCAYA were extracted from the GLOBOCAN, the Cancer in Five Continents Plus, and the World Health Organization mortality database, respectively. The associations between the Human Development Index (HDI) and GCAYA burden were also evaluated by Pearson correlation analysis., Results: The global incidence of GCAYA was 0.79 per 100,000, and the corresponding mortality was 0.45 per 100,000 in 2020. The mortality-to-incidence ratio (MIR) was lower in AYA (0.61) than in patients aged 40-64 years (0.65) and patients aged 65 years and older (0.75). The age-standardized incidence rates (ASIR) and age-standardized mortality rates (ASMR) were 0.84 and 0.53 per 100,000, respectively, in women, compared with 0.74 and 0.45 per 100,000, respectively, in men. The majority of new cases (17,934) and deaths (10,360) were estimated to occur in Asia. There has a significant negative correlation between the MIR of GCAYA and HDI level (R 2  = 0.2707, P < 0.0001). There was a decreasing trend of incidence and mortality in most countries., Conclusions: The MIR of GCAYA is lower than that among older patients and exhibit a positive association with socio-economic status. Based on morphological and phylogenetic analyses, an ectomycorrhizal fungus collected from Jiangxi, China, is described as a new species. R. atrofuscus is morphological characterized by a dark gray to black pileus, white to pale yellowish white hymenophore, a grayish brown to pale yellow context, which turning orange-yellow to rusty yellow when injured, a prominently and coarsely white to pale yellow to black reticulation on upper 3/4 or entire stipe, grayish yellow to pale yellow to yellowish brown basidiospores in KOH with measuring (7-)7.5-13(-13.5) × (3-)3.5-5(-5.5) μm. Phylogenetic analysis results showed that R. atrofuscus formed an independent lineage within Retiboletus. During an investigation of freshwater fungi in Jiangxi province, China, a new hyphomycetous fungus, Aquapteridospora jiangxiensis, was collected and isolated. Aquapteridospora jiangxiensis is characterized by its unbranched and guttulate conidiophores with multi-septa swollen at the base, polyblastic conidiogenous cells with sympodial proliferations, and denticles, and guttulate conidia with a sheath. Objective: Linked color imaging (LCI) is a recently developed technique that emphasizes differences in mucosal color. In this study we aimed to develop a LCI classification based on the Narrow-band Imaging International Colorectal Endoscopic Classification for predicting colorectal polyp histology and evaluate the validity and performance of the endoscopists in differentiating hyperplastic polyps from adenomas using the LCI classification., Methods: A workshop involving six international experts from China and Japan with substantial experience with LCI developed the classification. Three experienced and seven less-experienced endoscopists used the LCI images to predict the histology of polyps independently, recording their degrees of confidence in these predictions before and after completing the training test for the LCI classification., Results: Of the 50 polyps included, 30 (60.0%) were adenomas. Overall diagnostic accuracy before training was 75.4% (95% confidence interval [CI] 71.4%-79.1%), which increased to 85.2% (95% CI 81.8%-88.2%) after training. After training, the experienced and less-experienced endoscopists achieved an overall accuracy of 87.3% and 84.3% for the prediction of polyp histology. Polyp prediction using the color criterion alone had the highest specificity and positive predictive value, whereas the vessel criterion achieved the highest accuracy and negative predictive value among all three individual LCI criteria. After training, both the experienced and less-experienced endoscopists had high degrees of interobserver agreement., Conclusions: We developed and validated the first LCI classification for endoscopic differentiation of adenomas and hyperplastic polyps. Purpose: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a predominant cause of mortality worldwide. Autophagy, which depends on a lysosomal degradation pathway, plays an essential role in the occurrence of COPD. The aim of our study was to identify the potential function of autophagy and construct a BCL2-related competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network that induces autophagy in COPD., Methods: Blood sample data from GSE31568, GSE24709, and GSE61741 were collected from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Differentially expressed miRNAs in COPD and controls were identified via GEO2R. Transcription factors were obtained from FunRich. DIANA, miRDB, miRTarBase, and TargetScan were used to predict target genes of miRNAs. Autophagy genes were collected from the Human Autophagy Database (HADb). The GSE151052 dataset was used to identify autophagy-related differentially expressed genes in tissues. Functional enrichment and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analyses were conducted via Metascape and the STRING network. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between autophagy-related differentially expressed genes and lung function. The BCL2-related ceRNA network was modeled by Cytoscape., Results: We obtained 41 differentially expressed miRNAs and 10 significantly different transcription factors. We identified 19 autophagy-related differentially expressed genes that were significantly different ( P <0.05) in tissue samples. The most significant enrichment in Metascape was an autophagy item, which further confirmed autophagy participation in the occurrence of COPD. PPI network analysis found four genes (BCL2, BECN1, MAPK8, and ITPR1), among which BCL2 was correlated with both FEV1/FVC and FEV1 prediction. Decaying bamboo in freshwater is a unique eco-environment for fungi. Three new Distoseptispora (Distoseptisporaceae) species, D.meilingensis , D.yongxiuensis and D.yunjushanensis from submerged decaying bamboo culms in Jiangxi Province, China, were discovered, based on phylogenetic analyses and morphological characters. The combined data of ITS-LSU-SSU- Tef 1 sequences were used to infer the phylogenetic relationship between D.meilingensis , D.yongxiuensis , D.yunjushanensis and related species. Based on the daily average concentration of PM 2.5 , social influencing factor data, and meteorological data of 11 cities in Shanxi Province from 2015 to 2019, the concentration period of PM 2.5 was determined using wavelet transform. The correlation between PM 2.5 and social influencing factors and meteorological factors was explored respectively through Spearman correlation and the wavelet coherence spectrum, and the main influencing factors of long-term and short-term management and control of PM 2.5 were determined. The results showed that the concentration of PM 2.5 in Shanxi Province showed an upward trend from 2015 to 2017, with an average annual increase rate of 4.3% and a downward trend from 2018 to 2019, with an average annual decrease rate of 4.2%. The average concentration of PM 2.5 showed a "U" distribution, with the highest value in January (95 μg·m -3 ) and the lowest in August (34 μg·m -3 ); the average value in winter was approximately twice that in summer. The ρ (PM 2.5 ) in southern cities such as Linfen was 62 μg·m -3 , and the average value in Datong and other northern cities was 45 μg·m -3 , which was high in the south and low in the north. There were significant periodic changes in PM 2.5 concentration in the 11 cities, including a long period of approximately 293 d and a short period of approximately 27 d. Among them, the energy consumption level and industrial structure were the strong driving factors affecting the PM 2.5 concentration in the long period of Shanxi Province. In the short period, it was greatly affected by the change in atmospheric circulation, and different cities were affected by typical meteorological factors. Linfen, Yuncheng, Datong, Shuozhou, and Xinzhou were vulnerable to wind speed; Jinzhong and Luliang were vulnerable to temperature; and Taiyuan, Jincheng, Yangquan, and Changzhi were uniquely and significantly affected by relative humidity. Therefore, industrial structure adjustment and energy structure adjustment are key to the long-term control of atmospheric PM 2.5 and the long-term improvement of air quality in Shanxi Province. The differential impact of different urban meteorological factors on PM 2.5 should be considered when carrying out short-term regional joint prevention and control.

Objective: To investigate the significance of peripheral blood lymphocyte to monocyte ratio (LMR) and corrected levels of serum calcium (cCa) as prognostic markers for the newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM) patients., Methods: The clinical data of 114 newly diagnosed MM patients in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from January 2013 to March 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to identify the optimal cutoff value, and the patients were divided into high LMR group and low LMR group (LMR≥3.35 and LMR < 3.35). Moreover, the patients were divided into four groups according to initial diagnosis LMR and LMR after four courses of treatment (LMR4): Group A (LMR≥3.35, LMR4≥3.35), Group B (LMR≥3.35, LMR4 < 3.35), Group C (LMR < 3.35, LMR4≥3.35), and group D (LMR < 3.35, LMR4 < 3.35). The simple prognosis model was established by combined with LMR and cCa, the patients were divided into Group a (no risk factor), group b (1 risk factor) and Group c (2 risk factors). Independent sample T-test, Pearson Chi-square test or Mann-Whitney U test were used to evaluate the differences between various parameters, and Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression were used for survival analysis., Results: The median follow-up time was 13.05（0.1-72.5）months. Survival analysis showed that the patients with low LMR predicted poor prognosis, the overall survival (OS) time of the patients with low LMR was significantly shorter (17 vs 50.5 months, P=0.006) than the patients with high LMR, the difference was also significant between group A and Group D (56.5 vs 30.5 months, P=0.043). The OS of the patients was also significantly shorter in the high cCa group (≥2.75 mmol/L) compared with normal group (8.5 vs 34 months, P=0.006). Multivariate survival analysis showed that LMR < 3.35 (P=0.028) and cCa≥2.75 mmol/L (P=0.036) were the independent risk factors affecting prognosis of MM patients. The comparison of risk factors showed that the median OS of Group a, b and c was 50, 20, and 8.5 months, respectively. The prognosis of the patients without risk factors was better than that of patients with 1-2 risk factors (Group a vs Group b, P < 0.0001; Group a vs Group c, P=0.002)., Conclusion: LMR and cCa are the independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of newly diagnosed MM patients, and the development of a simple prognosis system combining them can quickly identify the prognosis of newly diagnosed MM patients.

Objective: The effect of vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), an important auxiliary therapy for treating drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE), on autonomic nerve function is still controversial. Heart rate variability is a widely used indicator of autonomic nerve function. To clarify the relationship between VNS and heart rate variability (HRV), we performed a meta-analysis to systematically evaluate the effect of VNS on HRV in patients with epilepsy., Methods: We performed a systematic review by searching the following online databases: PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library. The key search terms were "vagal nerve stimulation," "epilepsy" and "heart rate variability". Other features of VNS in patients with epilepsy include postoperative changes in low-frequency (LF), high-frequency (HF) and low-frequency/high-frequency (LF/HF) heart rate variability, which were used as evaluation indices, and the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale and Stata 14.0 statistical software were used for literature quality evaluation and meta-analysis., Results: Twelve studies published in English were obtained, and 229 patients with epilepsy who underwent VNS were ultimately included after elimination of duplicate articles and those that did not meet the inclusion criteria. Regarding LF heart rate variability, in the response subgroup, patients with DRE with VNS presented a lower value (-0.58) before surgery than after surgery, with a 95% confidence interval (CI) ranging from -1.00 to -0.15. For HF heart rate variability, patients with DRE with VNS had a lower value (-0.45) before surgery than after surgery in the response subgroup, with a 95% CI ranging from -0.74 to -0.17. No differences were found for LF/HF values or the LF and HF values of other subgroups., Conclusion: VNS has little effect on the balance of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve activity and would not be expected to cause cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction in patients with DRE. Background: Freshwater fungi are highly diverse and ecologically important in freshwater systems. In China, more than 1000 species of freshwater fungi are known. Here, we present a brown-spored hyphomycetes that was collected on a submerged decaying bamboo culm in a forest stream in China., New Information: Phylogenetic analyses of combined LSU, ITS and TUB2 sequences confirm the placement of our new strain in Veronaea (Herpotrichiellaceae), sister to V.japonica . Veronaeaaquatica sp. nov. differs from related taxa V.compacta and V.japonica in having longer conidiophores and cylindrical to pyriform or subclavate conidia with 0-2 septa. Veronaeaaquatica also has darker brown hyphae compared to V.japonica . A morphological description and detailed illustrations of V.aquatica are provided., (Sajini K.U. Obesity increases the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and other metabolic diseases. We intended to compare three different anthropometric indicators of obesity, in predicting the incidence of cardiovascular events in Chinese type 2 diabetes. Beijing Community Diabetes Study was a prospective multi-center study conducted in Beijing community health centers. Type 2 diabetes patients from fourteen community health centers were enrolled at baseline. The primary endpoint was cardiovascular events. The upper quartile of neck circumference (NC) was set as greater NC. A total of 3299 diabetes patients were enrolled. In which, 941 (28.52%) had cardiovascular disease at baseline. Logistic analysis showed that central obesity (waist circumference (WC) above 90 cm in men and 85 cm in women) and greater NC were all related to baseline cardiovascular disease (adjusted OR = 1.49, and 1.55). After 10-year follow-up, 340 (10.31%) had cardiovascular events. Compared with patients without cardiovascular events, those having cardiovascular events had higher BMI, larger WC and NC. Cox regression analysis showed that greater WC and NC were all associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular events (adjusted HR = 1.41, and 1.38). A higher NC and WC might increase the risk of cardiovascular events by about 40% in type 2 diabetes patients in Beijing communities.

Taking the typical heavy air pollution process in Yangquan from December 26, 2018 to January 20, 2019 as an example, the characteristics and cause analysis of heavy air pollution in a mountainous city in winter were analyzed in this study. The results showed that fine particle mass (PM 2.5 ) was the primary pollutant during the heavy pollution period. The water-soluble ions and carbonaceous components were the main components of PM 2.5 . The secondary ions of SO 4 2- , NO 3 - , and NH 4 + had the lager contribution to water-soluble ions (87.7%), and the secondary organic carbon (SOC) was the main component of the carbonaceous components (71.6%). The concentration of the secondary ions during the heavy pollution period increased by 5.3 times compared to levels before the heavy pollution period, and was an important component resulting in the fast increase of PM 2.5 . An analysis of meteorological conditions showed that PM 2.5 and its main components had a significantly positive relationship with humidity and a significantly negative relationship with wind speed. And that pollution became stronger with an increase in humidity and a decrease in wind speed. The typical meteorological characteristics of mountainous cities are high relative humidity and large temperature variations, which can accelerate the formation of secondary pollutants and are the main reasons for the rapid aggravation of PM 2.5 . In addition, the lower average wind speed caused by the relatively closed terrain in mountainous cities makes the diffusion conditions of air pollutants relatively poor, which is one of the reasons for the accumulation of pollutants. The source apportionment results showed that the secondary sources (46.0%) were the most important source of PM 2.5 , followed by coal combustion (32.6%), vehicle exhaust (19.8%), and fugitive dust (1.6%). Therefore, mountainous cities should pay more attention to controlling secondary components, especially secondary ions.

Objective: LncRNA HCG11 has been confirmed to act as a crucial role in several human cancers. Nevertheless, to our knowledge, the function of HCG11 on the progression of ovarian cancer (OC) has not been studied. This article is designed to explore the mechanism and role of HCG11 in the tumorigenesis and development of OC., Patients and Methods: RT-qPCR analysis was applied to detect the expression of HCG11, miR-144-3p and PBX3 in OC tissues and cell lines. MTT assay and transwell assay were opted to measure the cell viability of OC cells. The protein expression level of PBX3 was measured by Western blot assay. Dual-Luciferase reporter assay was carried out to assess the correlation between HCG11, miR-144-3p and PBX3., Results: The upregulated of HCG11 was observed in OC tissues and OC cell lines. Moreover, miR-144-3p was down expressed in OC tissues and cell lines. Functionally, the knockdown of HCG11 prevented cell viability of SKOV3 cells, while miR-144-3p inhibitor abrogated the suppressor on cell progression. Furthermore, PBX3 was verified to be a target gene of miR-144-3p. In addition, PBX3 knockdown prevented the cell progression of SKOV3 cells., Conclusions: These data displayed that the knockdown of HCG11 prevented cell progression in OC by sponging miR-144-3p and downregulating PBX3. All results revealed that HCG11 can be a potential therapeutic target for OC therapy.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were collected at three environmental sampling sites in Yangquan and quantified by gas chromatography-mass selective detector/flame ionization detector(GC-MSD/FID). The VOC sources were identified by diagnostic ratios and positive matrix factorization (PMF), and environmental impact of VOCs on O 3 and secondary organic aerosol (SOA) were evaluated. The results showed that the average VOC concentration was (82.1±22.7) μg·m -3 , with alkanes being the most abundant group (51.8%), followed by aromatics (17.8%), alkenes (8.0%), and alkynes (3.8%). The diurnal variation of VOCs exhibited a bimodal trend, with twin peaks appearing at 08:00-10:00 and 18:00-20:00, falling to a valley at 12:00-14:00. The results for benzene/toluene (2.1±1.3) and isopentane/ n -pentane (1.7±0.6) showed that the ambient VOCs may be influenced by coal combustion and vehicular emissions. Six sources were extracted by PMF:coal combustion (34.9%), vehicle emissions (18.2%), gasoline evaporation (15.2%), industrial emissions (13.6%), biogenic emissions (9.2%), and solvent usage (9.0%). The average concentration of ozone formation potential (OFP) was 156.6 μg·m -3 , with the highest contribution from alkenes, while the average concentration of secondary organic aerosol formation potential (SOA p ) was 68.7 μg·m -3 , mainly from aromatics (93.4%). In summary, coal combustion was the most abundant source of VOCs, and accelerating the management of coal gangue and energy structure readjustment are the key points to address. Meanwhile, restricting the VOCs from vehicle emissions, gasoline evaporation, and industrial emissions is also required.

Gastrectomy for cancer is a technically demanding procedure, with postoperative complications (POCs) reported to be in the range of 20%-46%. However, the effect of POCs on long-term survival of gastric cancer patients following surgery is far from conclusive. This systemic review aimed to determine the impact of postoperative complications (POCs) on the long-term survival of patients following surgery for gastric cancer. A systematic electronic search of PubMed and Scopus was performed from inception to June 26, 2018 to identify studies that described the relationship between POCs and long-term survival. Hazard ratios (HRs) for overall survival (OS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), and recurrence-free survival (RFS) from each study were combined using a random-effects model. Sixty-four eligible studies with reported results for 46198 gastric cancer patients were included. A meta-analysis found a statistically significant difference in OS, CSS and RFS between gastric patients with unspecific POCs and no POCs, POCs ≥ Clavien-Dindo grade (CD) 2 and < CD2, major POCs and minor POCs, infectious and non-infectious complications, anastomotic and non-anastomotic complications, and cardiopulmonary and non-cardiopulmonary complications. Subgroup and sensitivity analyses did not significantly change the summary of OS risk estimates between patients with POCs and without POCs. No significant publication bias was observed for the same outcome. Fermented foods were likely to have been the first among all types of processed foods consumed by human beings. The role that fermented food plays is not only related to the development of civilizations and cultural relationships between countries but also related to the nutritional importance of its population. Of course, the early manufacturers of fermented foods didn't take into account the advantages of modern sciences, because enzymes and microorganisms were discovered just 150-200 years ago. For that reason, we can conclude why the ancient fermentation techniques were known to philosophers and alchemists, but not to biologists. It demonstrated that the fermentation mechanisms involved many secrets still undiscovered. Recently, applications of molecular techniques for analyzing and study the fermented foods have been explored. In this review, we provide answers with a critical vision to many questions for understanding the role of molecular techniques to discover the secrets of fermented foods such as how to evaluate the traditional fermented foods? Why using molecular techniques to study the fermented foods not else? Is the future will carry to us a boom in molecular technologies contribute to the detection of more secrets of the fermented food?

Background: Neck circumference (NC) was found to be related to the risk factors of cardiovascular disease. However, the effects of NC on cardiovascular disease are still controversial. A prospective study of Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes was performed to evaluate the relationship between NC and cardiovascular disease., Methods: A multicenter prospective study with eight-year follow-up was conducted in Beijing communities. Cardiovascular events were defined as myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, hospitalization for heart failure, coronary revascularization, cardiac death, stroke, transient ischemic attack, and cerebral hemorrhage., Results: A total of 3,009 diabetic patients were recruited. Following an eight-year follow-up, 211 patients with cardiovascular events (105 in men and 106 in women) were identified. All patients were categorized into two groups according to the upper quartile of NC (43 cm in men and 39 cm in women). The prevalence of cardiovascular events in men with an NC >43 cm (16.48%) was higher than that in the group with an NC <43 cm (8.16%, p =0.007). The prevalence of cardiovascular events in women with the NC >39 cm (10.67%) was higher compared to the group with NC <39 cm (5.31%, p =0.004). The longitudinal prevalence of cardiovascular events in groups with different NC increased with the increasing duration of follow-up ( p < 0.001). Cox regression analysis showed that higher NC was associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular events after adjusting for confounding variables (adjusted HR = 2.305 (1.535-3.460))., Conclusions: NC was associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular events in type 2 diabetes in Chinese communities, and greater NC may increase the risk of cardiovascular events by about 2.3-fold., Competing Interests: Liyong Bai is an employee of Bayer Healthcare Company Limited, China. Background: There are many studies on submucosal injection materials, but their clinical use is restricted for various reasons. The objective of this study was to compare the feasibility and safety of injected EndoClot ® SIS polysaccharide as a submucosal injection material (SFC) in ESD in the pig stomach to that of injected sigMAVisc™ or Eleview™., Methods: Four pig stomachs were used for the ex vivo study. Eighteen pigs were used for the in vivo study. In the ex vivo study, four injections were made in the gastric submucosa to induce submucosal uplift and extend its duration. Tissue change was observed. The in vivo study was performed in 2 steps. First, 3 injections were made in the esophageal mucosa to induce submucosal uplift and extend its duration. Histological change was observed. Second, ESD was performed in the stomach by injecting EndoClot ® SIS polysaccharide, sigMAVisc™, or Eleview™ (each, n = 6) as an SFC. The effects of these agents on wound healing were examined. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of endoscopic surgery after EndoClot ® SIS polysaccharide injection., Results: EndoClot ® SIS polysaccharide produced a longer-lasting elevation with clearer margins than was achieved by sigMAVisc™, Eleview™, or 0.9% NaCl and thereby enabled precise ESD without complications, such as bleeding and perforation. No obvious histopathological damage was observed at the injection site on endoscopy and histology., Conclusion: Submucosally injected EndoClot ® SIS polysaccharide increased the effective separation of the mucosa and submucosa and reduced surgical complications. Hence, EndoClot ® SIS polysaccharide injection is a safe and effective submucosal injection material.
