4. Algorithm for predicting weighted protein complexes by using modularity function

Abstract

Due to the difficulties in obtaining the identification results of protein complexes with higher accuracy, as well as the running efficiency of the protein complexes identification algorithm based on weighted modularity function clustering is low, a novel protein complex recognition algorithm named IWPC-MF (Algorithm for identifying weighted protein complexes based on modularity function) was proposed. Firstly, we build the TCEWS (topological clustering for weighted edges) algorithm, which is founded on improved edge clustering coefficient and the combination of Pearson correlation coefficient with edge point clustering coefficient. Secondly, seed nodes were selected according to the weight of nodes, then the IMS (initial module selection strategy) program has been proposed. The similarity measurement and the protein attachment degree between nodes were selected to obtain the initial clustering module by traversing neighbors of seeds. Finally, based on the tightness, we take the IMC (initial module combination strategy) module with modularity function was added to initial module and finally complete the protein complex detection, which can overcome the defect that the traditional modularity function cannot identify the overlapped and small complex. IWPC-MF algorithm was used to identify protein complexes on DIP (the Database of Interacting Proteins) data, in order to reduce effectively the computational complexity and randomness, speed up the clustering speed. The experimental results show that IWPC-MF algorithm has better performance on accuracy and recall, which is more reasonable to identify protein complexes.

Abstract

Enterprises are increasingly using big data analytics and intelligence to solve business processes between original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) to increase the competitiveness and improve the efficiency of solutions. This research applies a cloud computing-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and OEM/ODM system to business to business (B2B) e-commerce. The integration of smart ERP system with B2B e-commerce can achieve the expected benefits of both. It reduces cost and improves the work efficiency, thereby improving the competitiveness of enterprises. In comparison to other traditional methods, the proposed system can make business management more efficient, promote the optimisation of cost structure, enhance the accuracy of sales orders, and improve the response time. Abstract

The relationship between the stomatal density of five woody plants endemic to China, i. e.Eucommia ulmoides, Quercus liaotungensis, Q. glandulifera var.brevipetiolata, Cyclocarya paliurus andFicus heteromorpha, and the atmospheric CO2 concentrations was studied by observations on leaves of the herbarium-stored specimms(1920s–1990s). The results showed that the stomatal density inEucommia ulmoides, Quercus liaotungensis andQ. glandulifera var.brevipetiolata decreased significantly in response to the elevated atmospheric CO2 concentrations, while inCyclocarya paliurus it decreased slightly and inFicus heteromorpha there were no responses.

Abstract

A. simple, low-cost film analyzer, named KD-9 IMANA, was developed for high speed cine film interpreting and data processing. The X and Y coordinate values of interested image points are digitized using magnetic induction principle and transferred to a personal computer through the RS-232C standard interface. KD-9 IMANA is equipped with LAA measurement and MOTION analysis program having sixteen physical quantites as standard outputs and allows users to make their own programa of data processing with BASIC language. This unit can also be used as a graphic analysis device.

Abstract

The' model XF-70 slit-drum camera has been developed to record projectile in flight for observation and acquisition. It has two operation modes: (1) synchro-ballistic photography, (2) streak record. The film is located on the inner surface of rotating drum to make it travel. The folding mirror is arranged to reflect light beam 90 degree on to film. The assembly of folding mirror and slit aperture can be together rotated about the optical axis of objective so that the camera makes a feature of recording projectile having any launching angle either in synchro-ballistic photography or in streak record through prerotating the folding mirror assembly by an appropriate angle. The mechanical-electric shutter preventing film from reexposing is close to the slit aperture. The loading mechanism is designed for use in daylight. 23. Bayes discriminant analysis method to identify risks of complicated goaf in mines and its application.

A Bayes discriminant analysis model is described comprising nine specific indices influencing the stability of goafs in mines and selected as discriminant indices: uniaxial compressive strength of rock, elastic modulus of rock, rock quality designation, area ratio of pillar, ratio of width to height of pillar, depth of ore body, volume of goaf, dip of ore body, and area of goaf. Actual data for 40 goafs were used as training samples to establish a Bayes discriminant analysis model to identify the risks to goafs. The results showed that this model had high precision and could be used in practical engineering (the misdicriminant ratio was 0.025 in the resubstitution process). The instability identification of the Yaogangxian tungsten mine, Hunan, was distinguished using this model and the identification result was the same as that for the practical situation. Abstract

The 30 at.% Ho: BaY2F8 crystals were grown by the Czochralski method, and their spectroscopic properties are analyzed systematically by standard Judd–Ofelt theory. The Judd–Ofelt intensity parameters are estimated to be Ω2 = 6.74 × 10−20 cm2, Ω4 = 1.20 × 10−20 cm2, and Ω6 = 0.66 × 10−20 cm2, and the fluorescence branching ratios and radiative lifetimes for a series of excited state manifolds are also determined. The emission cross sections with our measured infrared luminescence spectra, especially important for 4.1 μm, are calculated to be about 4.37 × 10−21 cm2. The crystal quality is preliminarily tested through a mid-infrared laser emission experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
