In this work, we propose a new approach called ``stationary reduction method based on nonisospectral deformation of orthogonal polynomials" for deriving discrete Painlev\'{e}-type (d-P-type) equations. We successfully apply this approach to (bi)orthogonal polynomials satisfying ordinary orthogonality, $(1,m)$-biorthogonality, generalized Laurent biorthogonality, Cauchy biorthogonality and partial-skew orthogonality. As a result, several seemingly novel classes of high order d-P-type equations, along with their particular solutions and respective Lax pairs, are derived. Notably, the d-P-type equation related to the Cauchy biorthogonality can be viewed as a stationary reduction of a nonisospectral generalization involving the first two flows of the Toda hierarchy of CKP type. The isospectral deformations of the Frobenius-Stickelberger-Thiele (FST) polynomials introduced in [32](Spiridonov et al. Commun. Math. Phys. 272:139--165, 2007 ) are studied. For a specific choice of the deformation of the spectral measure, one is led to an integrable lattice (FST lattice), which is indeed an isospectral flow connected with a generalized eigenvalue problem. In the second part of the paper the spectral problem used previously in the study of the modified Camassa-Holm (mCH) peakon lattice is interpreted in terms of the FST polynomials together with the associated FST polynomials, resulting in a map from the mCH peakon lattice to a negative flow of the finite FST lattice. We construct new sequence transformations based on Wynn's epsilon and rho algorithms. In this paper, we propose a finite Toda lattice of CKP type (C-Toda) together with a Lax pair. Our motivation is based on the fact that the Camassa-Holm (CH) peakon dynamical system and the finite Toda lattice may be regarded as opposite flows in some sense. As an intriguing analogue to the CH equation, the Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equation also supports the presence of peakon solutions. Noticing that the peakon solution to the DP equation is expressed in terms of bimoment determinants related to the Cauchy kernel, we impose opposite time evolution on the moments and derive the corresponding bilinear equation. The corresponding quartic representation is shown to be a continuum limit of a discrete CKP equation, due to which we call the obtained equation finite Toda lattice of CKP type. Then, a nonlinear version of the C-Toda lattice together with a Lax pair is derived. Skew-orthogonal polynomials (SOPs) arise in the study of the n-point distribution function for orthogonal and symplectic random matrix ensembles. Motivated by the average of characteristic polynomials of the Bures random matrix ensemble studied in [22], we propose the concept of partial-skew-orthogonal polynomials (PSOPs) as a modification of the SOPs, and then the PSOPs with a variety of special skew-symmetric kernels and weight functions are addressed. By considering appropriate deformations of the weight functions, we derive nine integrable lattices in different dimensions. As a consequence, the tau-functions for these systems are shown to be expressed in terms of Pfaffians and the wave vectors PSOPs. In fact, the tau-functions also admit the representations of multiple integrals. Among these integrable lattices, some of them are known, while the others are novel to the best of our knowledge. In particular, one integrable lattice is related to the partition function of the Bures random matrix ensemble. Besides, we derive a discrete integrable lattice, which can be used to compute certain vector Pad\'e approximants. The Novikov equation is an integrable analogue of the Camassa-Holm equation with a cubic (rather than quadratic) nonlinear term. Both these equations support a special family of weak solutions called multipeakon solutions. In this paper, an approach involving Pfaffians is applied to study multipeakons of the Novikov equation. First, we show that the Novikov peakon ODEs describe an isospectral flow on the manifold cut out by certain Pfaffian identities. Then, a link between the Novikov peakons and the finite Toda lattice of BKP type (B-Toda lattice) is established based on the use of Pfaffians. Finally, certain generalizations of the Novikov equation and the finite B-Toda lattice are proposed together with special solutions. Many discrete integrable systems exhibit the Laurent phenomenon. In this paper, we investigate three integrable systems: the Somos-4 recurrence, the Somos-5 recurrence and a system related to so-called $A_1$ $Q$-system, whose general solutions are derived in terms of Hankel determinant. As a result, we directly confirm that they satisfy the Laurent property. Additionally, it is shown that the Somos-5 recurrence can be viewed as a specified B\"acklund transformation of the Somos-4 recurrence. In this paper, we give a multistep extension of the epsilon-algorithm of Wynn, and we show that it implements a multistep extension of the Shanks' sequence transformation which is defined by ratios of determinants. Reciprocally, the quantities defined in this transformation can be recursively computed by the multistep epsilon-algorithm. The multistep epsilon-algorithm and the multistep Shanks' transformation are related to an extended discrete Lotka-Volterra system. In this paper, nonlocal symmetries for the bilinear KP and bilinear BKP equations are re-studied. Two arbitrary parameters are introduced in these nonlocal symmetries by considering gauge invariance of the bilinear KP and bilinear BKP equations under the transformation $f\longrightarrow fe^{ax+by+ct}$. By expanding these nonlocal symmetries in powers of each of two parameters, we have derived two types of bilinear NKP hierarchies and two types of bilinear NBKP hierarchies. An impressive observation is that bilinear positive and negative KP and BKP hierarchies may be derived from the same nonlocal symmetries for the KP and BKP equations. Besides, as two concrete examples, we have deived bilinear B\"acklund transformations for $t_{-2}$-flow of the NKP hierarchy and $t_{-1}$-flow of the NBKP hierarchy. All these results have made it clear that more nice integrable properties would be found for these obtained NKP hierarchies and NBKP hierarchies. We propose a differential difference equation in ${\mathcal R}^1\times {\mathcal Z}^2$ and study it by Hirota's bilinear method. This equation has a singular continuum limit into a system which admits the reduction to the Davey-Stewartson equation.
