The epoxidation process of soybean oil (SBO) and peracid produced by 50 wt% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and formic acid (FA) was studied with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) as a catalyst. Three reaction parameters, including reaction temperature, FA-to-SBO ratio, and H2O2-to-SBO ratio, were investigated, along with the combined effect on oxirane value (OV). Based on response surface methodology (RSM), the Box-Behnken design (BBD) was used to optimize the process parameters. According to the results, the calculated OV (7.34%) and the experimental OV (7.31%) were signifi cantly in agreement. The product was confi rmed as epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) by IR and NMR characterization methods. These results demonstrated the reliability of RSM to optimize the SBO reaction to produce ESO with high oxygen content.

SUMMARY The osmotic resistance mechanism has been extensively studied in whole plants or plant tissues. However, little is known about it in embryogenic tissue (ET) which is widely used in plant‐based biotechnological systems. Suberin, a cell wall aliphatic and aromatic heteropolymer, plays a critical role in plant cells against osmosis stress. The suberin regulatory biosynthesis has rarely been studied in gymnosperms. Here, PaMYB11, a subgroup 11 R2R3‐MYB transcription factor, plays a key role in the osmotic resistance of Norway spruce (Picea abies) ETs during cryoprotectant pretreatment. Thus, RNA‐seq, histological, and analytical chemical analyses are performed on the stable transformations of PaMYB11‐OE and PaMYB11‐SRDX in Norway spruce ETs. DAP‐seq, Y1H, and LUC are further combined to explore the PaMYB11 targets. Activation of PaMYB11 is necessary and sufficient for suberin lamellae deposition on Norway spruce embryogenic cell walls, which plays a decisive role in ET survival under osmotic stress. Transcriptome analysis shows that PaMYB11 enhances suberin lamellae monomer synthesis by promoting very long‐chain fatty acid (VLCFA) synthesis. PaPOP, PaADH1, and PaTET8L, the first two (PaADH1 and PaPOP, included) involved in VLCFA synthesis, are proved to be the direct targets of PaMYB11. Our study identified a novel osmotic response directed by PaMYB11 in Norway spruce ET, which provides a new understanding of the resistance mechanism against osmosis in gymnosperms. As electronic devices advance, the electromagnetic (EM) interference generated by the emission of EM waves persists and intensifies, considerably impacting the normal operation of electronic equipment and human health. To address this issue, microporous composite silver nanowire (AgNWs)/activated nanofiber (ANF) aerogels, endowed with EM-shielding properties, were prepared via liquid nitrogen unidirectional freezing and freeze-drying techniques. Hydrogen bonds generated between the carbonyl groups of polyvinylpyrrolidone covering the surfaces of the AgNWs and the amino groups of ANF promoted entanglement between AgNWs and ANF. This integration not only improved the mechanical properties but also diminished the pore dimensions of AgNWs/ANF aerogels. In addition, the incorporation of 50 wt % AgNWs exceptionally boosted the electrical conductivity of the composite, measuring at 845.5 S/cm, while maintaining a low density of 89.4 mg/cm3. Simultaneously, this composite aerogel exhibited an EM interference (EMI) shielding effect of 31.4 dB, adequately meeting the requirements of various commercial applications that necessitate EMI shielding. Ultrasonic cavitation can damage surrounding material and be used for destruction of the target tissue. In this paper, we investigated the interaction between atherosclerotic plaque (AP) and cavitation bubbles to determine whether the mechanical effect of cavitation damage could be potentially useful in therapy for treating atherosclerotic plaques. A two-bubble–fluid–solid model was established to study the dynamic behavior of bubbles near the AP and the AP damage by ultrasound-induced cavitation. A low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) transducer was used for testing cavitation-based AP damage. We found that the nonlinear oscillation of bubbles causes the relative positions of the bubbles to shift, either toward or away from one another, these phenomena lead to changes in the bond failure rate between the fiber bundles, and the value of BRF exhibits an upward trend, this is the reason why the fibers suffered from reversible stretching and compressing. However, the AP damage is irreversible and diminishes as the number of cycles in the ultrasonic burst. It appears that the bigger the radii, regardless of whether the bubble (3 − i)'s and bubble i's radii are equal, the greater the AP damage. Ultrasonic cavitation therapy may not be appropriate for advanced AP patients, and the calcified tissue has a greater impact on the stability of the plaque. The damage area should be strictly selected. Additionally, the tissue damage phenomenon was found in experimental results. This work shows that the severity of AP damage is correlated with acoustic parameters and the surrounding environment from both simulation and experimental perspectives.
