Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), an environmentally friendly strong oxidant and energy carrier, has attracted widespread attention in photocatalysis. Artificial photosynthesis of H2O2 using water and oxygen as raw materials, solar energy as an energy source, and semiconductor materials as catalysts is considered a promising technology. In the past few decades, encouraging progress has been made in the photocatalytic production of H2O2. Therefore, we summarize the research achievements in this field in recent years. This review first briefly introduces the reaction pathway, detection techniques and evaluation metrics. Then, the recent advances in photocatalysts are highlighted. Furthermore, the existing challenges and possible solutions in this field are presented. At last, we look forward to the future development direction of this field. In this study, thermodynamic properties of BC2N under extreme conditions have been reported by using first-principle calculations and quasi-harmonic Debye model. Isochoric heat capacity (Cv) of BC2N at normal temperature and pressure is 23.15 kJ mol−1 K−1 and it increases with the temperature and decreases with the pressure. In the low temperature region, pressure has no obvious influence on phonons and thus the decrease of Cv is very slow. In the medium temperature region, the decrease of Cv becomes steep. The reason is that high pressure plays an important role in controlling the vibration of atoms. In the high temperature region, the decrease of Cv becomes slow. Debye temperature (θ) decreases with the temperature. However, the tendency is not obvious in the low temperature region but very clear in high temperature. Moreover, θ increases with pressure and the amplitude is larger in higher temperature. Because of the four covalent bonds with different strength and distribution asymmetric thermal expansion along different axes occurs. To effectively improve the properties of a mullite coating and its interfacial bonding with the substrate, a Ni–P layer is deposited on the surface of mullite powders by electroless plating. The original mullite powders and coated mullite powders are then deposited onto stainless-steel substrates by plasma spraying. The growth mechanism of the Ni–P layer during the plating, the microstructures of the coated powders and mullite coating and the properties of the mullite coatings are characterized and analyzed. The results indicate that the Ni–P layer on the surface of the mullite powder has cell structures with a dense uniform distribution and grows in layers on the surface of the mullite powder. The crystallization behavior of Ni-P amorphous layer is induced by heat treatment. Compared to the original mullite coating, the coating prepared by the coated mullite powders has better manufacturability, stronger adhesion to the substrate, lower porosity (7.40%, 65% of that of the original coating), higher hardness (500.1 HV, 1.2 times that of the original coating), and better thermal cycle resistance (two times that of the original coating). Ru-melem and Ru-C 3 N 4 were synthesized by a simple and facile strategy to construct a novel covalently anchoring by introducing easily synthesized amide bond as a bridge connecting the Ru-terpy and melem or g-C 3 N 4 , respectively. The covalent anchoring of Ru complex on melem or C 3 N 4 not only makes these materials exhibit water oxidation activity under Ce IV -driven (Ce IV  = Ce(NH 4 ) 2 (NO 3 ) 6 ) reaction condition, but also makes the obtained heterogeneous catalysts show higher catalytic activity than the corresponding homogeneous catalysts, which reveals that the covalent anchoring strategy of Ru complex is beneficial to improve the catalytic activity of homogeneous Ru catalysts.
