Health inequity for marginalized groups increases the risk of developing health problems. Healthcare providers' unconscious bias contributes to this inequity. A novel bias modification method--called Cognitive Bias Modification for stereotype (CBM-S)--is a digital tool designed to be used in conjunction to existing bias training to address medical students' biases toward Maori (an indigenous population in Aotearoa New Zealand). CBM-S encourages non-stereotypical interpretations through relevant and specific text-based scenarios and has been tested against control. To improve the scenario's relevance and specificity, here, we adopted a user-centered approach to materials development for CBM-S that involved iterative inputs from medical students and Maori participants to achieve our objectives. We outlined the material development process for CBM-S to provide a guide for researchers and educators in developing CBM-S training. Artificial intelligence has garnered significant attention in recent years as a rapidly advancing field of computer technology. With the continual advancement of computer hardware, deep learning has made breakthrough developments within the realm of artificial intelligence. Over the past few years, applying deep learning architecture in medicine and industrial anomaly inspection has significantly contributed to solving numerous challenges related to efficiency and accuracy. For excellent results in radiological, pathological, endoscopic, ultrasonic, and biochemical examinations, this paper utilizes deep learning combined with image processing to identify spinal canal and vertebral foramen dimensions. In existing research, technologies such as corrosion and expansion in magnetic resonance image (MRI) processing have also strengthened the accuracy of results. Indicators such as area and Intersection over Union (IoU) are also provided for assessment. Among them, the mean Average Precision (mAP) for identifying intervertebral foramen (IVF) and intervertebral disc (IVD) through YOLOv4 is 95.6%. In this study, AlGaN/GaN HEMTs with Au-free Ti/Al/Ni/Ti ohmic contacts were fabricated. The device presents a contact resistance (R c) of 0.64 Ω·mm and high linearity characteristics. The two-tone measurement at 28 GHz shows that the 2 × 50 μ m device exhibits an excellent third-order intercept point (OIP3) value of 41.64 dBm at V DS = 28 V, and an OIP3/ P DC of 24.2. An OIP3 of 46.59 dBm was achieved when the device's gate width was increased to 8 × 50 μ m at V DS = 48 V. These results demonstrate that AlGaN/GaN HEMTs with Ti/Al/Ni/Ti ohmic contacts have potential for Ka-band applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite the potential benefits of telehealth, disclosure of personal information via this technology is often low due to embarrassment. One potential way to promote disclosure might be the use of avatars as conversational partners. Here, we explored this possibility by investigating the effects of avatars' human facial features and informed agency on adults' reports of embarrassing personal events and their views of the avatars. Adults (N = 111) were interviewed about a personal event by either a faceless, speech-wave avatar or a human-appearing avatar. Participants were also told that the avatar was either human-operated or computer-operated. Participants who were interviewed by a faceless avatar reported more information of higher quality about a personal event than did participants who were interviewed by a human-appearing avatar. This finding was consistent with participants' preference for a faceless avatar for discussing embarrassing topics. Participants' knowledge of the avatar's agency did not impact the quantity or quality of their reports or choice of avatar. The present experiment highlights the importance of avatars' appearance when considering their utility in eliciting detailed disclosure of potentially embarrassing information. The present study aimed to examine the effects of a novel avatar interviewing aid during memory interviews with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Thirty children were recruited for our study (Age: M = 7.60, SD = 0.68), half with ASD (13 boys; 2 girls) and the other half being neurotypical (13 boys; 2 girls). Children participated in a target event and were subsequently interviewed a week later by either an avatar interviewer or a human. The participants were also asked six misleading questions aimed to examine their suggestibility. Bayesian analysis showed some increase in memory performance for both groups of children interviewed by the avatar interviewer, and this effect exacerbated for children with ASD. These results showed encouraging implications for future applications.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease with various clinical presentations. Mucin deposition is a characteristic finding in skin lesions, but it is rare in other organs. We present a case with erythematous patches from the terminal ileum to the anus in an SLE patient. Diffuse colitis was diagnosed clinically. However, in addition to inflammatory cell infiltration, there was abundant mucinous material deposition in the submucosa. The mucinous material was positive for Alcian blue staining (pH 2.5) and was sensitive to hyaluronidase digestion. These findings are similar to those of cutaneous mucinosis in SLE patients.
